Abstract

The high prevalence of stunting in Mandailing Natal Regency, despite showing a declining trend in recent years, is still above the national target, thus requiring acceleration efforts through a convergence approach at the village level. This study aims to analyze the effectiveness of the implementation of Healthy Village Houses (RDS) as a center for the convergence of stunting handling acceleration, identify supporting and inhibiting factors, and formulate strategies to strengthen the RDS institution. The research used a qualitative descriptive method with data collection techniques including in-depth interviews, participatory observation, and documentation studies involving local government, village government, health workers, Human Development Cadres (KPM), and posyandu cadres. Data analysis was performed using the Miles & Huberman interactive model through the stages of data condensation, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. The results show that RDS functions as a multisectoral coordination platform, a nutrition education center, as well as a space for integrating various health services such as integrated posyandu and child growth and development monitoring. However, its implementation has not been optimal due to limited budget allocation, low human resource capacity, weak institutional documentation, and low community participation. The study concludes that strengthening RDS requires specific budget support, clear institutional regulations, capacity building for cadres, more intensive integration with health centers, and improving community nutrition literacy. Optimizing RDS is crucial to accelerate the reduction of stunting rates and strengthen village-based health governance.

Abstract

This study focuses on the relationship between social support and self-acceptance levels in individuals living with HIV/AIDS (PLWHA). This study was conducted using a quantitative approach with a correlational design, involving 60 PLWHA respondents from a foundation in Yogyakarta, selected through purposive sampling. Data collection used the self-acceptance scale instrument by Bernard (2019) and the social support scale developed by Zimet and colleagues (2021). Statistical testing results showed a significant positive correlation between the two variables (r = 0.528), where social support contributed 36.2% to the variation in self-acceptance. This finding suggests that support from the immediate environment plays a crucial role in helping PLWHA achieve better self-acceptance. This study highlights that social support, including emotional and practical assistance, contributes significantly to the psychological well-being of PLWHA. Furthermore, these findings underscore the need for professional and family support systems in fostering self-acceptance among individuals facing the challenges of HIV/AIDS. This study provides valuable insights into psychosocial interventions that can improve the quality of life of PLWHA, emphasizing the crucial role of social networks in the acceptance process.

Abstract

The main problem in this study is how the application of project-based methods can improve the short story writing skills of fifth-grade students at SDN. Centre Mawang. This study aims to improve students' writing skills through the application of project-based learning models in fifth-grade students at SDN. Centre Mawang. The type of research used in this study is descriptive classroom action research (CAR). Which consists of two cycles where each is carried out for 4 meetings. The research procedures include planning, implementation, action, observation and reflection. The subjects in this study were 33 fifth-grade students at SDN. Centre Mawang. Based on the results of the study, it can be concluded that the ability to write short stories through the application of project-based methods can significantly improve short story writing in the Indonesian Language subject in fifth-grade students at SDN Centre Mawang. With student completion in the cycle 1 test of 50% and in the final test of cycle II of 99%, it can be said that the students' learning outcomes have reached the completion criteria. The conclusion of this study is that the application of project-based learning models is effective in improving students' short story writing skills. Through learning activities involving the planning, creation, and completion of short story writing projects, students become more active, creative, and focused in their writing process. This is evident in the improved quality of their writing and their learning completion in each research cycle. Therefore, the project-based learning model can be used as an alternative learning strategy to improve short story writing skills in elementary school students.

Abstract

This study was conducted to analyze the impact of the Family Hope Program (PKH) on improving the quality of life of the community in Tegal Sari Mandala II Village, Medan Denai District. This program is expected to strengthen the welfare of poor families by improving access to health services and education, as well as the economic resilience of recipient households. The study used a descriptive method with a qualitative approach to in-depth describe the experiences and changes experienced by beneficiary families. Data were obtained through in-depth interviews and field observations. The findings indicate that PKH contributed to increased utilization of maternal and child health services, increased school participation of beneficiary children, and improved family economic capacity, although not yet optimal. The implications of this study emphasize the importance of strengthening mentoring, improving the quality of basic services, and optimizing the role of local governments so that PKH can have a more sustainable impact on community welfare.

Abstract

Using qualitative and descriptive approaches, this study aims to explain how the village government of Tanjung Rejo, Percut Sei Tuan District, uses family economic empowerment strategies to combat poverty. The purpose of this approach is to describe the process, form, and impact of the economic empowerment strategies implemented by the village government. Data was collected through documentation, in-depth interviews, and observation. Village officials, community leaders, and villagers directly involved in the family economic empowerment program were the research informants. The results of the study show that the Tanjung Rejo Village government has used various strategies to boost the family economy. These strategies include providing entrepreneurship training, providing small business capital assistance, and forming joint business groups to improve the community's economy. Increased family income, business skill development, and improved economic independence of the village community are all positive outcomes of this approach. However, the program still faces several challenges, such as budget shortages, low community participation, and a poor monitoring and evaluation system. Overall, the Tanjung Rejo village government uses the family economic empowerment program to reduce poverty and improve family welfare.

Abstract

This study aims to develop news-text teaching materials assisted by QuillBot as a learning medium for Indonesian Language instruction in Grade XI, focusing on improving students’ understanding of news-text structure and their writing skills. This research employed a Research and Development (R&D) approach using the ADDIE model, consisting of five stages: analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation. Data were collected through classroom observations, teacher interviews, questionnaires, and student comprehension tests. The findings indicate that most students had a sufficient understanding of news texts prior to the use of QuillBot; however, they still experienced difficulties in organizing their ideas systematically and avoiding writing errors. Through the use of QuillBot, students were able to paraphrase news texts, refine grammar, and improve linguistic accuracy and fluency. Expert validations revealed that the developed teaching material was deemed “feasible without revision” by the material expert and “suitable for use without revision” by the media expert. Effectiveness testing also showed improvement in student learning outcomes, reflected in increased average scores, higher mastery levels, and positive student responses toward the integration of QuillBot in the learning process. This study concludes that QuillBot provides an engaging and interactive learning experience, enhances student motivation in studying news texts, and supports the integration of AI-based technology in the classroom. Therefore, QuillBot can serve as an effective and innovative AI-assisted learning medium that strengthens students’ digital literacy skills.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the suitability between learning outcomes and news text teaching materials contained in the Indonesian language textbook for grade XI students used at SMA Negeri 1 Percut Sei Tuan. Using a qualitative descriptive approach, this study examines the material structure, news text examples, and learning activities contained in the textbook, then compares them with the learning outcomes set in the Independent Curriculum. The results show that most of the teaching materials are aligned with competency requirements, particularly in understanding the structure and linguistic elements of news texts. The textbook provides relevant news text examples and learning activities that support students' understanding of news texts. However, some sections, such as in-depth analysis activities and text production exercises, still do not fully meet the standards expected in the Independent Curriculum. This indicates room for improvement in developing more comprehensive teaching materials. Therefore, enrichment of teaching materials is needed to optimize student competency achievement, as well as providing more applicable exercises to improve students' abilities in analyzing and producing news texts. Developing more in-depth teaching materials will improve the quality of learning and student competency achievement.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the positive and negative impacts of using artificial intelligence (AI) applications such as ChatGPT, Grammarly, and Quillbot in the Indonesian language learning process at SMAN 1 Tungkal Jaya. This study used a qualitative descriptive method, with Indonesian language teachers as the primary subjects and 10th-grade students as additional informants. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, participant observation, and documentation, then analyzed using the Miles and Huberman model, which includes data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The results show that AI has a positive impact on teachers in the form of increased time efficiency, creativity in developing teaching materials, and innovation in digital learning. For students, AI increases motivation, facilitates access to information, and aids in understanding the material. However, negative impacts were also found, such as a decrease in the originality of teachers' ideas and pedagogical reflection, a reliance on machine-generated output, AI's limitations in understanding cultural contexts, and a decrease in critical thinking skills and an increase in plagiarism among students. Therefore, strengthening digital literacy and technological ethics is necessary so that the use of AI can become an effective, humanistic learning innovation that remains grounded in educational values.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the role of Islamic Religious Education (PAI) teachers in fostering a harmonious and tolerant school environment based on religious values at SMK Negeri 1 Bakauheni. The research is grounded in the growing importance of promoting religious tolerance within Indonesia’s multicultural society, particularly in schools where students from diverse religious backgrounds interact daily. Employing a qualitative descriptive approach, this study explores in depth the experiences, perceptions, and social dynamics surrounding the internalization of tolerance values among students. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, participatory observations, and literature review. The findings reveal that PAI educators play a strategic role in integrating tolerance values into classroom learning by strengthening Islamic teachings on peace, justice, and respect for diversity. Teachers employ dialogical, integrative, and participatory methods to encourage students to understand and practice tolerance in real-life contexts. However, several challenges were identified, including differences in religious understanding, limited interfaith interaction, and the negative influence of social media, which can lead to intolerant attitudes. Furthermore, PAI teachers act as agents of change by providing moral exemplification, creating safe spaces for dialogue, and building an inclusive learning environment. The study emphasizes that the successful development of tolerance greatly depends on teacher competence, effective learning strategies, and school support through programs that promote humanistic and diversity-based values. Overall, this study concludes that a comprehensive, humanistic, and contextually relevant PAI implementation can effectively cultivate a culture of tolerance in schools.

Abstract

Humanist values ​​in education have long been rooted in the religious traditions and local culture of Indonesian society, but field facts are needed to strengthen this argument. This research focuses on three objectives: (1) analyzing the humanist educational values ​​contained in the local yasinan tradition in the hamlets of Krasak and Kecis, Selomerto, Wonosobo; (2) knowing the implications of humanist education from the implementation of the local yasinan tradition in the hamlets of Krasak and Kecis, Selomerto, Wonosobo; (3) understanding the relevance of humanist education reflected in the implementation of the local yasinan tradition in the hamlets of Krasak and Kecis, Selomerto, Wonosobo to Islamic religious education. This thesis is the result of a field study in the hamlets of Krasak and Kecis, Selomerto sub-district, Wonosobo regency regarding the local yasinan tradition. Primary sources were obtained through observation, interviews and documentation, strengthened by other relevant secondary sources, then analyzed qualitatively descriptively through three stages: data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions—verification. The results of the analysis and discussion show that: (1) The Yasinan tradition in the Krasak and Kecis hamlets, Selomerto District, Wonosobo Regency contains a number of humanist educational values, namely: solidarity and brotherhood, empathy and sympathy, mutual cooperation, tolerance, knowing each other, character and moral education, and social concern; (2) The main implications of humanist educational values ​​in the Yasinan tradition in the Krasak and Kecis hamlets, Selomerto District, Wonosobo Regency, include: strengthening social solidarity and togetherness, instilling the values ​​of empathy and care, and character building based on local values; (3) The Yasinan tradition in the Krasak and Kecis hamlets, Selomerto District, Wonosobo Regency has strong relevance to Islamic Religious Education because it is an effective medium for instilling humanist educational values, such as solidarity, empathy, and togetherness, which are in line with Islamic teachings on human relations (muamalah) and noble morals.
