Abstract

The development of information and communication technology in the digital era has significantly transformed the forms and modus operandi of criminal acts, including the emergence of online gambling conducted through websites and social media platforms. This phenomenon raises legal challenges because the previous Indonesian Criminal Code (KUHP) regulated gambling only in its conventional form and was therefore unable to fully accommodate the characteristics of cyber-based gambling activities. In response, the government enacted the new Criminal Code (Law No. 1 of 2023), which will take full effect in 2026 and introduces important reforms through Articles 426 and 427. These provisions explicitly prohibit and criminalize any person who offers, facilitates, or participates in gambling enterprises, including those using electronic means. However, the application of these provisions to individuals who merely disseminate online gambling links remains debatable, particularly concerning their position within the structure of criminal liability. This study aims to examine the criminal liability of individuals who disseminate online gambling links via social media, as reflected in the District Court of Payakumbuh Decision No. 123/Pid.Sus/2023. The research relies on secondary data obtained from literature, legislation, legal documents, academic books, and electronic sources. This study employs a normative juridical approach, analyzed descriptively, logically, and systematically using a deductive method. The findings indicate that disseminating online gambling links is considered an act of providing an opportunity to gamble, thereby rendering the perpetrator criminally liable even though they are not directly involved in gambling activities. However, the imposition of equal criminal sanctions on both link promoters and principal actors does not fully reflect the principle of justice, as their roles and degrees of culpability differ substantially. This study emphasizes the importance of distinguishing the roles of actors within online gambling activities to ensure proportional sentencing and contributes to the scholarly development of applying the new Criminal Code to technology-based crimes.

Abstract

Tidi Lo Tabongo is one of the classical dances included among the eight types of Tidi. Tidi Lo Tabongo means a warding-off dance or a dance to be cautious of something; however, it is not ritualistic and is commonly performed at the bridal procession of Gorontalo princesses by men from outside Gorontalo or during guest welcoming events. This study aims to describe the performance form of Tidi Lo Tabongo in the Tapa District of Gorontalo using Janet Adshead’s theory as presented in Riana Diah Sitharesmi’s book and A.A.M. Djelantik’s aesthetics theory. The purpose of the research is to identify and describe the performance form and components of Tidi Lo Tabongo Gorontalo. This study employs a qualitative approach with a descriptive nature as the basis for information processing. Data collection began with initial observations, followed by interviews with informants and direct review of Tidi Lo Tabongo performances. All observation results were recorded and compiled in visual documentation, including images and audiovisual recordings. The analysis shows that Tidi Lo Tabongo is performed by four Gorontalo female dancers wearing traditional Galenggo attire, featuring four main movement variations and eight floor patterns, accompanied by Tidi Lo Tabongo songs and Rebana musical instruments. The dance symbolizes vigilance and strives to create a sense of comfort for visiting guests, representing Gorontalo culture, particularly the personality of Gorontalo women in fostering safety, comfort, and harmony, while remaining free from negative influences.

Abstract

The implementation of the execution of judges' decisions after the Review (PK) raises a dilemma between legal certainty and the protection of the human rights of convicts. On the one hand, the execution of decisions that have had legal force is still necessary to maintain judicial authority and legal consistency. However, on the other hand, the PK as an extraordinary legal remedy opens up room for correction to potentially erroneous decisions, so that the execution cannot be carried out in a hurry. This research uses a normative-sociological approach by examining the Criminal Procedure Code (KUHAP), the Constitutional Court Decision, and the Supreme Court Circular Letter (SEMA) No. 7 of 2014, accompanied by an analysis of the practices of law enforcement officials. The results of the study show the need for regulatory synchronization and institutional reform so that post-PK executions reflect a balance between legal certainty, substantive justice, and the state's responsibility to protect the rights of convicts. Thus, this study emphasizes the importance of harmonization between legal norms and judicial practice to ensure that the execution of judgments not only upholds legal certainty, but also guarantees the protection of human rights.

Abstract

This study is driven by the growing use of gamification-based learning applications, particularly Duolingo, which is widely regarded as effective in strengthening students’ motivation to learn foreign languages. The research aims to analyze the gamification strategies embedded in the application and assess their influence on university students’ learning motivation. A qualitative approach was employed by examining empirical findings, usage patterns, and students’ learning experiences that reflect their responses to gamification elements such as points, levels, feedback, and daily challenges. The results indicate that these features contribute to building consistent learning engagement, enhancing learners’ sense of competence, and increasing their interest in language materials. The analysis further reveals that Duolingo helps students maintain learning routines, reduce fatigue, and experience a more adaptive learning process. The implications of this study highlight the importance of integrating gamification into digital learning media development while providing educators and institutions with a foundation for designing more creative learning strategies to enhance student motivation and the overall quality of the learning process.

Abstract

Proper archives management is a fundamental requirement in government administration systems to ensure the availability of authentic and accountable information. This community service activity aims to improve the quality of archives management in the Development and Supervision Sector at the Community and Village Empowerment Service of Sidoarjo Regency through technical assistance in archives arrangement. The method used was a qualitative descriptive approach with stages including initial condition observation, coordination with partners, and implementation of technical actions including document sorting, packaging into boxes, labeling with uniform format, and arrangement in storage rooms. The results showed a change in conditions from irregularly piled archives to organized archives in labeled boxes with consistent identities, thereby improving ease of retrieval and access control of archives. This activity also established new work practices in the form of sorting habits, uniform labeling, and recorded lending mechanisms. The implication of this activity is the formation of a foundation for a more transparent and accountable archives management system, although it still requires improvement through the preparation of archive lists per box and alignment with the official archive classification code of Sidoarjo Regency Government.

Abstract

This study examines the service quality of deaf employees at Deaf Café Gading Serpong using the SERVQUAL framework within the context of inclusive culinary tourism. A qualitative descriptive approach with a case study design was employed to capture in-depth service experiences. Data were collected through semi-structured in-depth interviews with eight customers selected via purposive sampling, complemented by passive participant observation and documentation. Data analysis followed the interactive model of Miles and Huberman, involving data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. The findings reveal that the tangibles dimension was positively perceived, reflected in the professional appearance of employees, clean service areas, and the availability of visual communication aids that supported the ordering process. Reliability was demonstrated through accurate order fulfillment with minimal errors. Responsiveness was evident in employees’ attentiveness and willingness to assist customers despite communication differences. Assurance emerged from employees’ competence and their ability to build customer trust through consistent service behavior. Empathy was identified as the most prominent dimension, shown through friendliness, patience, and heightened nonverbal attentiveness toward customers. Overall, hearing impairments did not hinder service quality; instead, they encouraged adaptive communication strategies and innovative service practices. This study contributes to the literature on inclusive tourism by highlighting how disability-friendly workplaces can deliver quality service, and it offers practical insights for culinary business managers seeking to implement inclusive and sustainable service models.

Abstract

Students of vocational high schools (SMK) from dysfunctional families often experience learning motivation problems, such as low self-confidence and lack of courage to participate actively. This study aims to describe the forms of peer support in non-formal education and to explain the role of peer group interaction in enhancing learning motivation among SMK students from dysfunctional family backgrounds. This research employed a qualitative approach with a case study design. The participants consisted of students from dysfunctional families, peers, and a school counselor. Data were collected through observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation conducted outside formal learning hours. The findings indicate that peer support in non-formal education is manifested through emotional, informational, instrumental, and appraisal support. Flexible and egalitarian peer interactions contribute to students’ sense of acceptance, increased self-confidence, and greater willingness to engage in learning activities. These results highlight the importance of non-formal education as a supportive space for improving learning motivation among students from dysfunctional families.

Abstract

An entrepreneurial spirit refers to attitudes, behaviors, and mindsets that reflect courage, creativity, independence, and the ability to manage risk to achieve business goals. This spirit is crucial to cultivate from an early age, particularly during adolescence, which is a crucial transitional phase in the formation of identity and mindset. Developing an entrepreneurial spirit is not an instant process; it must be instilled and developed systematically. Culinary training at Islamic Senior High Schools can serve a dual purpose: honing technical cooking skills while instilling entrepreneurial values such as innovation, risk-taking, business management, and product marketing. Bandura stated that people learn not only from direct experience but also by observing how others behave and how that behavior impacts them. This study develops students' entrepreneurial spirit through culinary training, particularly at the Madrasah Aliyah level, to hone their skills. The study used a qualitative approach with a case study to explore in-depth the process, experiences, and perceptions of MAM 02 Plus Skills students in developing an entrepreneurial spirit through culinary training based on social learning theory. The results of the study show that this need is not merely an academic demand, but rather a form of self-actualization for students who want to have independence after graduating from school, especially for students who do not continue their education to a higher level. This study confirms that the process of developing an entrepreneurial spirit in students at MAM 02 Plus Skills takes place through social interactions and contextual learning experiences. Bandura's social learning theory has proven to be a relevant foundation because students learn from their environment, imitate productive behavior, and are motivated by the tangible results they achieve.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the school environment and its impact on student discipline at MA Muhammadiyah Nangahure. The method used was a qualitative descriptive approach. Data collection was conducted through observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation studies involving the principal, teachers, and students as sources of information. The results indicate that the physical school environment is generally adequate; however, several limitations remain, For example, classroom comfort and lighting influence students' concentration and discipline. Social relationships, particularly interactions between teachers and students, play a crucial role in determining students' discipline. In addition, the school culture emphasizing religious values and discipline serves as a strength in supporting students’ discipline, although the implementation of rules and sanctions has not been fully consistent. The study concludes that both physical and social school environments have direct implications for students’ learning discipline. Therefore, optimizing school environment management, improving facilities, and strengthening teachers’ roles in enforcing discipline are necessary to enhance students’ learning discipline.

Abstract

Self-harm behavior in adolescents is a form of escape from emotional pressure, stress, and feelings of helplessness experienced in the process of psychosocial development. This study aims to identify effective prevention strategies in suppressing self-harm behaviors in adolescents. The research method used was a qualitative approach with an in-depth interview technique with four adolescents aged 13–20 years who had experience related to self-harm behavior and one supporting informant who had handled self-harm cases. The data were analyzed using a thematic approach to find patterns of coping strategies used by adolescents in dealing with psychological distress. The results of the study show that effective prevention strategies include increased social support from family and peers, mental health education in schools, and ongoing counseling assistance. In addition, strengthening emotion regulation skills and self-awareness is an important factor in reducing the risk of self-harm. The findings of this study confirm the importance of the role of the immediate environment in creating a sense of security and acceptance for adolescents. Therefore, collaboration between families, schools, and mental health professionals is needed to build a comprehensive and sustainable prevention system.
