Melakukan evaluasi pengaruh pupuk kandang ayam dan NPKMg terhadap produktivitas tanaman aren. Sugar palm (Arenga pinnata Merr.) is a plantation commodity that is very beneficial ecologically and financially because it can adapt to various geographical conditions such as mountains, valleys, riverbanks, and undulating land. However, the development of this plant is still constrained by low cultivation intensification, unstructured planting patterns, and optimal land use, resulting in low productivity. Increasing the productivity of sugar palm plants can be achieved through intensive cultivation. The purpose of this study was to study how chicken manure and NPKMg fertilizer affect the growth of sugar palm plants and determine the best fertilizer dosage.

Abstract

The increasing demand for red chili peppers has led to a significant increase in their market circulation. The fluctuating price of red chili peppers encourages farmers to produce larger or smaller quantities of this commodity in the following season. The yield of the harvest will affect the amount of production offered, while supply will affect the price. This study was conducted to analyze the factors that influence the supply of red chili peppers. The method used in this study was quantitative research, and the data used in this study was time series data from 2020 to 2024 on a monthly basis, resulting in 60 observations. The model used was multiple linear double log regression analysis. The results of the study show that partially and simultaneously, the price of red chili peppers, the price of urea fertilizer, the price of ZA fertilizer, the price of TSP fertilizer, the area of harvested land, and labor wages significantly affect the supply of red chili peppers.

Abstract

Shallot (Allium ascalonicum L.) is a high-value horticultural commodity with continuously increasing demand. The success of shallot cultivation, particularly for seed production, largely depends on the availability of high-quality seeds, which is influenced by fertilization practices. Nitrogen (N) plays an important role in plant growth and yield formation; however, inappropriate N application can reduce seed quality. This study aimed to evaluate the effects of different urea fertilizer doses on the growth, yield, and seed quality of shallots, as well as to determine the optimal and efficient urea dosage. The research was conducted in Nglipar District, Gunungkidul Regency, Special Region of Yogyakarta, from April to December 2025, using a Randomized Complete Block Design with four urea dose treatments, namely 0, 100, 150, and 200 kg/ha, each replicated six times. Observed parameters included vegetative growth, yield components, and the physical and chemical quality of bulbs. The results showed that increasing urea doses tended to enhance plant height and leaf number up to a certain level, but did not always have a significant effect at the maximum vegetative stage. A urea dose of 100 kg/ha produced the highest bulb weight, productivity, and the best physical and chemical bulb quality compared to higher doses. Application of urea above the optimal rate reduced yield and nitrogen use efficiency. Therefore, a urea dose of 100 kg/ha is recommended as the optimal rate to improve the quantity and quality of shallot seed.

Abstract

The agricultural sector plays a crucial role in developing economies such as Indonesia, particularly in regions like West Kalimantan where it supports a large share of the population. However, Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) face persistent supply chain challenges, including inefficiencies, high operational costs, and limited market access. This study aims to examine the role of digital technologies in optimizing agribusiness supply chains among MSMEs in West Kalimantan, grounded in the Resource-Based View (RBV) and Dynamic Capabilities theory. This research employs a mixed-methods approach, combining quantitative data from a survey of 100 MSMEs and qualitative insights from in-depth interviews with 20 selected participants. Quantitative data were analyzed using regression analysis, while qualitative data were examined through thematic analysis. The findings indicate that digital technology adoption significantly improves supply chain efficiency, product traceability, and market access. However, adoption remains limited due to barriers such as inadequate infrastructure, high implementation costs, and low digital literacy. The study highlights the importance of external support, including government policies and public–private partnerships, to enhance digital adoption. This research provides practical and theoretical insights into the strategic role of digital technologies in strengthening MSME competitiveness and supporting sustainable rural development.

Abstract

The water quality of the Malas River, a tributary of the Kapuas River, tends to decline due to human activities such as plantations, agriculture, and settlements. This study aims to analyze the water quality and pollution load capacity (PLC) of the Malas River in Sekadau Hilir District. This study was conducted for 8 months (April to November 2025) using the Mass Balance Method stipulated by the Decree of the Minister of Environment No. 110 of 2003. This method was chosen because of its ability to comprehensively integrate water quality, flow, and pollution source data. Water sampling was carried out using a purposive sampling technique for the analysis of TSS, BOD5, COD, and Total Nitrogen parameters. The results of the analysis of the river's water pollution load capacity showed the Pollution Load Capacity (BPM) values for the TSS, BOD5, COD, and Total Nitrogen parameters. After being simulated with the planned discharge of palm oil mill wastewater (POME) from PT. Agro Plankan Lestari (APL) as a significant source of pollution found that the Malas River's water pollution load capacity has not been exceeded for all tested parameters based on Class II water quality standards (PP 22 of 2021). These results serve as the basis for considerations regarding river water utilization according to its capacity.

Abstract

Pest infestation in rice plants is one of the factors that can disrupt rice production. This study aims to describe the presence and infestation conditions of Leptocorisa spp. (rice bug) and Lonchura spp. (munia birds) on rice plants from the milk ripening stage to grain maturation. Observations were conducted in a rice field in Bogor City, West Java, using a qualitative descriptive approach through direct observation, farmer interviews, and visual documentation. Field observations showed that Leptocorisa spp. attacks occurred during the milk ripening stage and were reported to be controllable through pesticide application, resulting in a relatively low impact on harvest yield. In contrast, Lonchura spp. attacks were observed starting from the early generative stage and increased during grain maturation. These attacks were difficult to control and often led to crop failure. The use of nets as a mechanical control method for Lonchura spp. has been implemented; however, its effectiveness depends on proper installation techniques. Visual documentation further revealed distinct characteristics of damage caused by the two pests on rice plants.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the income and economic feasibility of potato farming in Buntu Village. The study used a quantitative descriptive method involving 76 farmers selected using simple random sampling. Data were collected through interviews, questionnaires, and observations, then analyzed using calculations of production costs, revenue, income, profit, and R/C and B/C ratios. The results showed an average income of Rp 37,989,605/season/farm, or Rp 108,541,729/ha. Explicit income reached Rp 21,276,168/season/farm, or Rp 60,789,052/ha, but economic profit was only Rp 2,100,642/season/farm, or Rp 6,001,834/ha. An R/C ratio of 1.06 indicates technical feasibility, but a B/C value of 0.06 indicates a very low profit margin and a high level of economic vulnerability. Key-words: Income, Feasibility, Potato farming.
