Abstract

This study aims to analyze self-directed learning strategies in adult education in the digital age through a bibliometric analysis and a systematic literature review (SLR). the study is motivated by the development of digital technology. The phenomenon of globalization, as well as the increasing need for lifelong learning among adults. The research methodology floows the PRISMA guideline to identify, screen, evaluate, and synthesize relevant scintific article from 2017-2026. Data collection was conducted using Google Scholar with the assistance of the Publish or Perish application, while bibliometic analysis was performed using VOSviewer sofwere. The results indicate that research on self-directed learning in adult education has shown a significant increase and is closely related to digital learning, lendend learning, learning management systems (LMS), MOOC, digital literacy, and andragogical approaches. Biblimetric visualization indicates that techology-based self-drected learning has become a major topic in recent years. The resulats of the systematic literature review show that self-directed learning strategies have a positive impact on increasing independence, learning motivation, flexibility, problem-solving skills, and lifelong learning among adults. Digital techology also plays a siginificant role in facilitating accese to information and creating more adaptive learning experinces. Furthermore, success in self-directed learning also depends on digital literacy levels, intrinsic motivation, metacognitive skill, and adequate learning environment support. Therefore, is is crucial adult education institution to integrate technology-based learning with andragogical approaches to support efective self-directed learning in the digital age

Abstract

This study analyzes the relationship between intrinsic and extrinsic motivation and adult learning success through a Systematic Literature Review (SLR) using the PRISMA framework. A search on Google Scholar (2024–2026) yielded 19 articles that met the inclusion criteria; these were analyzed using narrative-thematic and bibliometric methods with VOSviewer. The results indicate that intrinsic motivation is more strongly associated with persistence, deep engagement, and long-term learning transfer, whereas extrinsic motivation acts as an initial catalyst, particularly in professional and institutional contexts. Both types of motivation are complementary through internalization mediated by self-efficacy, social support, and adaptive learning design. Contextual factors (stage of adulthood, culture, digital environment) also moderate these relationships. Educators and program designers need to integrate flexible and context-specific motivational strategies.

Abstract

This research is motivated by the critical importance of applying standardized Indonesian language rules in literary works to maintain national linguistic integrity amidst the increasingly dynamic evolution of contemporary writing styles. The primary objective of this study is to comprehensively analyze the use of spelling and word forms based on the latest guidelines of the Enhanced Indonesian Spelling System (EYD Edition V) in the novel Cantik Itu Luka by Eka Kurniawan. This novel was selected as the material object due to its status as a masterpiece of modern Indonesian literature, characterized by narrative complexity and a significant sociocultural impact that extends to an international level. The study employs a qualitative descriptive method to factually and accurately describe linguistic phenomena. The research data consist of textual units, including words, phrases, and sentences extracted from the novel's manuscript through documentation, reading, and note-taking techniques. The findings reveal various forms of spelling inconsistencies that deviate from the standard EYD V rules, particularly in the use of punctuation such as commas and colons within complex sentences, the capitalization of national and ethnic names in character dialogues, and the inconsistent italicization of foreign loanwords. From a morphological perspective, the study identifies a highly productive use of affixation (prefixes, suffixes, and confixes) and reduplication. These word formation processes are found to serve not only as grammatical elements but also as the author's stylistic strategy to enliven characters and strengthen emotional intensity within a colonial historical setting. Although some spelling deviations can be categorized as poetic license (licentia poetica), this research emphasizes that EYD V standardization remains crucial as a parameter for structural accuracy in written communication. The implications of this research are expected to contribute to the development of linguistic teaching materials and enhance linguistic sensitivity within the Indonesian literary publishing industry to ensure the continued quality of national literature.

Abstract

Adolescence is a complex developmental stage, characterized by significant biological, social, and cognitive changes. One of the most common problems that emerge during this period is low self-esteem, which impacts mental health, social adjustment, academic achievement, and identity formation. This study aims to analyze the internal factors underlying low self-esteem in adolescents from a cognitive theory perspective. Using qualitative methods and a phenomenological approach, this study explores adolescents' subjective experiences related to thought processes, core beliefs, cognitive distortions, self-efficacy, cognitive patterns, and self-talk that play a role in shaping self-perception. The research findings indicate that negative core beliefs, automatic thoughts, and maladaptive cognitive distortions are the main internal mechanisms that lower self-esteem. Furthermore, low self-efficacy, impulsive or unbalanced reflective thinking styles, and negative self-talk reinforce self-doubt and trigger a cognitive cycle that is difficult to break.

Abstract

This study analyzes language errors in research report texts based on the General Guidelines for Indonesian Spelling (PUEBI). The three research report texts analyzed come from scientific journals published in 2024, namely: (1) "Prinsip Pembelajaran Kurikulum Merdeka (Tinjauan Holistik Paradigma Ki Hajar Dewantara sebagai Pendekatan)," published in NUSRA: Jurnal Penelitian dan Ilmu Pendidikan; (2) "Implementasi Penggunaan Teknologi Digital sebagai Media Pembelajaran Pada Pendidikan Inklusi di Indonesia," published in Jurnal Educatio; and (3) "Analisis Permasalahan Kualitas Pendidikan Indonesia," published in Cendikia: Jurnal Pendidikan dan Pengajaran. This study employs a descriptive qualitative method with documentation and note-taking as data collection techniques. The data were analyzed using PUEBI as the reference standard to identify types of language errors, including errors in capital letter usage, punctuation, word writing, and foreign or loanword writing. These errors were found in various parts of the texts, including titles, abstracts, article bodies, and reference lists, indicating that inconsistent application of spelling rules remains a common issue in Indonesian academic writing. The results of this study are expected to make a meaningful contribution to improving the quality of scientific writing in Indonesian academic journals, while also serving as a reference for authors, editors, and journal managers in paying greater, more consistent, and more responsible attention to the linguistic aspects of scholarly work, in order to advance national scientific literacy.

Abstract

The increasing use of non-standard language on social media shows that digital language practices are influenced by linguistic, social, and psychological factors. This study aims to describe forms of non-standard language in TikTok comment sections, examine their relationship with Fear of Missing Out (FOMO) culture, and discuss their implications for digital language literacy. Using a descriptive qualitative approach, the study analyzed 68 TikTok comments containing non-standard language taken from viral content with high user engagement. Data were analyzed through the interactive model of Miles, Huberman, and Saldaña, involving data condensation, data display, and conclusion drawing. The findings indicate that slang, word shortening, code-mixing, and acronyms are the dominant forms of non-standard language. These forms function as efficient and expressive communication strategies and reflect users’ adaptation to digital community norms. The study also reveals linguistic conformity related to FOMO culture, as users tend to follow popular language practices to maintain social engagement and online relevance. This study introduces digital linguistic conformity as a framework for understanding language reproduction on social media. The findings emphasize the need to strengthen digital language literacy by promoting awareness of both standard language use and diverse digital language varieties in contemporary online communication and youth interaction.

Abstract

This study aims to systematically examine the role of educational online game media in supporting early literacy skills among young children during the 2023–2026 period. The research employed a Systematic Literature Review (SLR) method using the PRISMA 2020 framework. Data sources were obtained from scientific journal articles indexed in Google Scholar, Scopus, DOAJ, and SINTA, with inclusion criteria focusing on studies discussing educational online games and early childhood literacy. The analysis process followed the stages of identification, screening, eligibility, and inclusion, followed by thematic analysis to identify research patterns, trends, and key findings.The findings indicate that the most frequently used educational online game media include mobile learning games, web-based games, and interactive platforms such as Wordwall, Quizizz, and Kahoot. These media have been shown to contribute positively to the development of letter recognition, phonological awareness, vocabulary acquisition, and early reading skills among young children. Furthermore, research trends during the 2023–2026 period reveal an increasing adoption of game-based learning approaches that emphasize not only cognitive development but also children's motivation, engagement, and learning experiences. In conclusion, educational online game media represent an effective learning strategy for supporting early literacy development in early childhood education. The findings suggest that the integration of digital technology in early childhood learning should be supported by teachers’ competencies, appropriate pedagogical planning, and the development of learning media that align with the characteristics and learning needs of young children.
