Abstract

Curriculum changes are crucial in modern education to adapt to society's needs and technological advancements. Yet, rushed or poorly considered alterations might disrupt education's flow and harm students' learning and progress. Hence, this study explores rural Junior High School English teachers' voices on curriculum changes and the Merdeka curriculum implementation regarding curriculum aspects. Employing a qualitative approach with a case study design, five English teachers from rural schools in Bengkulu Province, Indonesia, were selected purposively. Semi-structured interviews were carried out to collect data and those data were analyzed using an interactive model. The findings of this study indicate teachers' positive reception to curriculum changes, benefiting both students and educators. The Merdeka Curriculum's implementation fulfilled various aspects, such as goals, resources, and teaching methods, yet encountered hurdles, like inadequate facilities, assessment system awareness, and learning module development. Despite successes, teachers expressed the necessity for training and workshops to effectively integrate the Merdeka curriculum into their teaching practices. In conclusion, rural English educators exhibit optimism toward the Merdeka Curriculum, appreciating its advantages while acknowledging challenges related to resource scarcity and the need for enhanced training in curriculum execution.

From the four classesthe writer took two classes of 25 students were taken randomly so the sample consist of 50student. In doing his research the writer did the experiment, the writer divided the samplestudents into the groups. Group A ( experimental Group ) and group B ( control group )both of these group were given pre – test and post test . the post test was given after theteaching experiment. In analyzing data the writer used t – test to compare before and aftertreatment. The result of this study showed that there was a progress made by goup A ( experimentalgroup ) with the gain t = 5.34 while group B ( control group ) got 1.67 the value of t –table of df=24 was 1.74. since the value of the gained t was higher than the value of t –table this means that thr group work activities can be proved effectively.Beside that, the writer also found that there was a significant difference between group A( experimental group ) and group B ( control group ). The value of gained t was 4.02 whilethe value of t – table of df = 24 is 2.06. it means that 4.02 > 2.06 so the second hypothesisis retained.

Abstract

The objective of this research was to investigate the significance difference among personality type in their writing achievement. The population of the research consisted of the third semester students of English department of IAIN Bengkulu academic year 2015/2016. The research design was ex post facto design. The data in this study was analyzed with one-tailed t-test formula in SPSS 20 to calculate the differences of writing achievement among personality types with the level significance of α = 0.05. The result showed that there was difference among the mean score of introvert group, which was (82.32), the mean score  of extrovert group (74.14), and the mean score  of ambivert group (74.59). Firstly, the results between introvert and extrovert  types were  computed with statistic analysis and it showed that t count = 5,80 and t table = 2,02. Therefore, as t count > t table the alternative hypothesis was accepted. It means that the students of introvert type had better result than extrovert type in writing skill. Secondly, the result of statistic analysis between introvert and ambivert types showed that the value t count = 3,95 and t table = 2,02. It means that the students of introvert type had better result than ambivert type in writing skill. Thus, the alternative hypothesis was accepted. Thirdly, the result on statistic analysis between extrovert and ambivert types showed that the value t count = 0,21, t table = 2,02. It means that the students of extrovert type had almost the same result with ambivert type in writing skill. The conclusion is there was significance difference writing achievement between introvert and both of extrovert and ambivert types.
