Abstract

Efforts to improve the effectiveness of children's learning at the Elementary School (SD) level can be driven by various elements, including the creation of an appropriate curriculum and the provision of adequate facilities. This study applies a literature study method with a qualitative approach, where the researcher serves as the main tool. Data were taken from various sources such as books, scientific articles in leading national and international journals, newspapers, and magazines. The findings of the study indicate that the success of the learning process is greatly influenced by efficient curriculum management. In addition, adequate facilities in schools greatly support the smooth running of the teaching and learning process. Curriculum management has an important role to ensure that learning objectives are achieved according to the predetermined schedule, as well as to compile detailed learning programs. Likewise, facility management also has an important function in supporting the implementation of programs that have been planned in the curriculum. Therefore, schools that are able to manage the curriculum and facilities well will be more successful in improving student learning outcomes.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the application of Problem-Based Learning (PBL) strategies to improve students' critical thinking skills. The research method used was a literature review analyzing various relevant sources. The results indicate that PBL can facilitate students in identifying problems, analyzing information, formulating solutions, and logically evaluating their thinking. Therefore, PBL can be used as an effective learning strategy in developing students' critical thinking skills at various levels of education.PBL is a learning approach that uses real-world problems as a context for students to learn critical thinking, solve problems, and acquire essential knowledge and concepts from the subject matter. This model was first developed in 1969 at McMaster University School of Medicine, Canada, to address health issues and was later adapted for general education to improve student learning outcomes. Through PBL, students are encouraged to learn independently, seek relevant information, and collaborate with peers to identify and solve learning problems. This approach trains students in analysis, creativity, and independence, while also increasing motivation for discussion and the contribution of ideas. Thus, PBL is significantly more effective than conventional learning in training students to think critically and solve problems.

Abstract

Student admission at the elementary school level is more than just an administrative process it serves as a crucial entry point for effective student management. This study aims to explore the strategies used in managing students during the new student admission process and to identify the challenges faced by schools, along with how they address these issues. Using a descriptive qualitative approach, data were collected through interviews, observations, and document analysis at several public and private elementary schools. The findings reveal that the student admission process goes beyond registration; it includes planning the number of new students, conducting transparent selection procedures, and organizing orientation programs to help students adapt. Key challenges include the zoning system, limited facilities, and a lack of information provided to parents. However, schools that promote open communication, utilize technology, and routinely evaluate their admission practices show better readiness in creating a supportive learning environment. The study recommends strengthening school management capacity to ensure a fair, efficient, and sustainable student admission and management system.

Abstract

This study aims to analyse the effect of using e-jobsheets on improving student competence in women's and girls' clothing design courses. This study uses a quantitative approach with a quasi-experimental design. The research population comprises all students enrolled in women's and girls' clothing design courses within a single fashion design study program. The sample was selected using purposive sampling, consisting of two groups: the experimental group (using e-jobsheets) and the control group (using conventional jobsheets). The research procedure consisted of three stages: pre-test, treatment, and post-test. Data collection was carried out using a validated competency test instrument. The primary research instrument was a sewing competency test consisting of multiple-choice questions and practical garment-making tasks. The validity and reliability of the instrument were tested before use to ensure objective and reliable results. The pre-test and post-test data were statistically analysed using an independent sample t-test to determine the difference in competency improvement between the experimental and control groups. This study showed that the use of e-jobsheets can improve student competency in women's and girls' clothing design courses. Students who used e-jobsheets showed an increase in their ability to make clothing independently and in a structured manner. Additionally, students were also better able to identify and address errors in the clothing-making process.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effectiveness of experiential learning in improving fifth-grade elementary school students' understanding of the concept of changes in the form of objects. The research methodology used is literature review, which involves the analysis and synthesis of various research findings, scientific articles, and related journals published in the coming years (2020–2025). In the context of science education in elementary schools, experiential learning is very important in helping students understand abstract concepts concretely through careful observation and analysis activities. Experimental methods such as melting ice, evaporating water, or forming dew are effective ways to connect theory with student experience. Based on the results of the study, experimental methods can improve students' conceptual understanding, science process skills, and knowledge, such as curiosity, thoroughness, and responsibility for learning activities. In addition, experiential learning can help students become more motivated to learn and actively participate in class throughout the learning process. However, a number of factors, such as teacher guidance, the availability of tools and equipment, and the ability of teachers to supervise students' experimental activities in class, affect the success of the program. Therefore, teachers must conduct experiments that are meaningful, relevant to everyday life, and appropriate to the characteristics of students in the school. Therefore, the use of experience-based learning can be an effective strategy to improve the quality of science teaching, especially material on physical objects, so that students can understand scientific concepts clearly and concisely.
