Abstract

This paper aims to construct a model of indigenous community empowerment in responding to social change in the Arfak Mountains. Social transformation driven by development expansion, market economic integration, and shifts in values and social relations has affected local livelihoods, customary institutional structures, and cultural practices. This research employs a qualitative approach using ethnographic methods to gain an in-depth understanding of lived experiences, symbolic meanings, and community adaptation strategies in navigating these dynamics. Data were collected through participant observation, in-depth interviews with customary leaders, women, and youth, as well as the review of local documents. The data were analyzed interpretatively through processes of reduction, categorization, and meaning-making. The findings indicate that effective empowerment is contextual, participatory, and rooted in local wisdom. The proposed model emphasizes strengthening customary institutions, community-based resource management, sustainable local economic development, and the creation of dialogue spaces between customary actors and government. Empowerment is understood not merely as economic capacity building, but as a collective process that reinforces cultural identity, social solidarity, and community resilience to change. This study offers an ethnography-based empowerment framework that is sensitive to the values and social structures of indigenous communities in the Arfak Mountains.

Abstract

Kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini dilatarbelakangi oleh kebutuhan akan salah satu sarana ibadah yang  nyaman di Desa Lambaro Skep, Kecamatan Kuta Alam, Kota Banda Aceh. Tujuan dari kegiatan ini adalah untuk membantu dalam pengawasan pembangunan Mushalla Al Kautsar dengan  membangun struktur mushalla yang lebih permanen, aman, dan representatif, serta meningkatkan rasa kebersamaan dan gotong royong di antara sesama warga. Metode pelaksanaan kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat untuk saat ini meliputi tahap perencanaan teknis, penggalangan dana dan partisipasi masyarakat, pelaksanaan pembangunan struktur utama, yaitu struktur pondasi tapak, struktur balok sloof, struktur kolom/tiang lantai 1, struktur balok lantai 2 dan plat lantai 2 dan penambahan fasilitas pendukung lainnya dan seluruh struktur utama menggunakan beton bertulang dengan mutu beton Ready Mixed setara dengan kuat tekan fc 35 Mpa, sedangkan struktur pondasi sumuran telah dilaksanakan tahun sebelumnya. Hasil yang dicapai dari kegiatan ini adalah terbangunnya struktur utama mushalla yang kokoh dengan luas bangunan yang memadai dan cukup menampung jamaah yang melakukan ibadah di mushalla tersebut, yang nanti akan dilengkapi dengan fasilitas wudhu dan sanitasi yang memadai. Selain aspek fisik, kegiatan ini juga berhasil mempererat tali silaturahmi antarwarga dan menumbuhkan semangat partisipasi aktif dalam pembangunan fasilitas umum. Kesimpulan dari kegiatan ini menunjukkan bahwa pembangunan sarana ibadah tidak hanya memenuhi kebutuhan spiritual masyarakat, tetapi juga berperan penting dalam memperkuat hubungan sosial dan kesejahteraan masyarakat desa.

Abstract

This community service activity aims to improve the competence of Al Ammar Qur'an Tahfidz Science High School teachers in managing scientific work references through the use of the Mendeley application. Problems faced by partners include low digital literacy in the use of reference managers, manual citation and bibliography creation, and difficulties in adapting to journal style. The activity implementation method uses a participatory approach through workshops, demonstrations, direct practice, and intensive mentoring. Evaluation was carried out with pre-test and post-test instruments to measure the increase in understanding and skills of participants. The results of the activity showed a significant increase in all assessment aspects, namely understanding the concept of reference, mastery of Mendeley features, reference management, use of automatic citations in Microsoft Word, and bibliography preparation. The highest increase occurred in automatic citation skills with a score increase of 37 points. This activity not only improves teachers' technical competence in scientific writing but also strengthens digital literacy and readiness for publication in accredited national and reputable international journals. This program contributes to strengthening a technology-based academic culture in partner schools and supports the implementation of MBKM and the achievement of higher education's Key Performance Indicators
