Abstract

Islamic boarding schools (pesantren) are the oldest Islamic educational institutions in Indonesia and play a strategic role in the development and transmission of the Ahl al-Sunnah wa al-Jamā‘ah (Aswaja) doctrine. This paper aims to examine the crucial role of pesantren in strengthening Aswaja through a literature review approach drawing on classical texts, works of pesantren scholars, as well as reputable contemporary national and international studies. The discussion focuses on the theological and historical foundations of Aswaja, the pesantren structure encompassing the roles of the kyai, santri, and the kitab kuning curriculum, as well as the dynamics of pesantren in responding to modernization and globalization. The findings indicate that pesantren function not only as religious educational institutions but also as agents of social identity formation, promoters of religious moderation, and guardians of the inclusive tradition of Islam Nusantara. The integration of Aswaja values into the pesantren curriculum has been shown to contribute to the strengthening of tolerant attitudes, a balance between tradition and change, and the ideological resilience of Indonesian Muslims. This paper emphasizes that pesantren occupy a central position in safeguarding the continuity of Aswaja amid contemporary ideological challenges and social transformation, while also serving as an important reference for the development of Islamic education policies in Indonesia.

Abstract

Internship is a vocational programme designed to provide students with authentic workplace experience and to bridge the gap between school learning and industry practices. This paper reports the internship activities conducted at PT Xtend Integrasi Indonesia from June to December 2025. The internship involved project planning, system installation, software configuration, integration of IT-based solutions, and maintenance tasks such as fibre optic cable splicing and panel repair. Through these activities, students applied theoretical knowledge in practical contexts, thereby enhancing technical competencies in troubleshooting, hardware installation, and system integration. Beyond technical skills, the internship fostered soft skills including discipline, adaptability, teamwork, and communication, which are essential for professional success. Challenges such as technological gaps between school and industry, limited mentorship due to supervisors’ workload, and cultural adjustment to workplace discipline were encountered. These challenges were overcome through proactive learning, collaboration with colleagues, and flexibility in adapting to new environments. Overall, the internship programme significantly enhanced students’ readiness for professional work, strengthened their technical expertise, and contributed to the formation of professional identities.

Abstract

The Free Nutritious Meal Program (Makan Bergizi Gratis/MBG) is a strategic government initiative aimed at improving students’ nutritional quality and supporting learning concentration and academic achievement in schools. The effectiveness of this program at the school level is highly dependent on the quality of public communication carried out by schools toward internal and external stakeholders. This community service activity aims to analyze school public communication practices in supporting the implementation of the MBG program at a public junior high school in South Tangerang City. A qualitative descriptive approach was employed by collecting data through in-depth interviews with school principals, teachers, and educational staff, direct observations of school communication activities, and documentation analysis of policy guidelines and communication media. The results show that effective internal communication contributed to a shared understanding among teachers and staff regarding program objectives, implementation mechanisms, and responsibilities. Externally, communication with parents through face-to-face meetings, digital messaging groups, and online media increased parents’ understanding, participation, and trust in the program. Nevertheless, differences in parents’ information literacy and limited communication intensity remained challenges. Overall, the findings indicate that structured, transparent, and participatory school public communication positively supports the implementation of the MBG program, as reflected in reduced misinformation, improved parental acceptance, and smoother program execution.

Abstract

This study examines how the Sibolga flood is represented in Indonesian online news media by applying Norman Fairclough’s Critical Discourse Analysis (CDA). Using a qualitative approach, the data consist of two online news articles reporting the same flood event, published by CNN Indonesia and Liputan6 within the same time period. The analysis follows Fairclough’s three-dimensional framework, encompassing textual analysis, discursive practice, and social practice. The findings reveal notable differences in the linguistic and discursive strategies employed by the two media outlets. CNN Indonesia tends to emphasize severity, casualties, and urgency through evaluative lexical choices and dramatic headlines, positioning the flood as a major humanitarian crisis. In contrast, Liputan6 focuses more on infrastructural recovery and institutional responses, framing the disaster within a narrative of control and normalization. These differing representations reflect distinct ideological orientations and power relations, particularly in relation to state institutions and public audiences. The study concludes that online disaster reporting is not neutral but functions as a discursive site where meaning, responsibility, and social reality are constructed. This research contributes to Critical Discourse Analysis and media studies by highlighting how language shapes public understanding of disasters in Indonesian online news.

Abstract

Bullying is a serious problem that persists frequently in elementary schools and negatively impacts students' psychological and social development, as well as their learning experience. Therefore, ongoing preventative efforts through early character education are necessary. This study aims to describe the role of Al-Washliyah Muslim Nusantara University (UMN) Community Service Program (KKN) students in fostering anti-bullying awareness within the MIS Cendikia school in Batu Bara Regency. A descriptive qualitative approach was used as data collection techniques, including direct observation, in-depth interviews, and activity documentation. The results indicate that the anti-bullying education program implemented by the KKN students, through interactive counseling, educational games, visual media, and an empathetic communication approach, increased students' understanding and awareness of the negative impacts of bullying. Furthermore, changes in student attitudes toward more respectful, cooperative, and empathetic behavior were observed. Support from the school also strengthened the program's effectiveness in creating a safer and more inclusive learning environment. Thus, the KKN students serve as agents of change in instilling anti-bullying values ​​and building a positive school culture.

Abstract

The rapid development of digital technology has significantly transformed the socio-cultural dynamics of society, including Islamic-based early childhood education. This article aims to analyze socio-cultural dynamics and the transmission of Islamic values in character education for early childhood in the digital era, using RA Muslimat 12 as a case study. The study is grounded in the phenomenon of increasing digital technology use in family and educational settings, which simultaneously presents opportunities and challenges for character formation. Employing a qualitative approach with a case study design, data were collected through participant observation, in-depth interviews with the head of the institution, teachers, parents, and documentation of learning activities. The findings reveal that socio-cultural dynamics in the digital era influence interaction patterns among children, teachers, and parents in both learning processes and value habituation. The transmission of Islamic values at RA Muslimat 12 is carried out through curriculum integration, teacher role modeling, habituation of religious practices, and the selective and contextual use of digital media. This article emphasizes that Islamic value-based character education for early childhood in the digital era requires strong synergy between educational institutions, families, and the broader social environment, while remaining grounded in humanistic and moderate Islamic pedagogical principles.

Abstract

The educational and mentoring program was conducted for one week, from January 19, 2026, to January 24, 2026. The goal of this Community Service program was to increase the capacity of Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) to manage and develop their businesses sustainably through strengthening personal branding and implementing digital marketing strategies. Specifically, this program aimed to empower MSMEs to understand the concept of personal branding, build a strong and consistent business identity, and optimize the use of digital media as a marketing tool. With targeted education and mentoring, it is hoped that MSMEs can increase product competitiveness, expand market reach, and adapt effectively to developments in the digital economy. The MSME capacity-building program through education and mentoring has proven to be instrumental in increasing business competitiveness in the digital economy era. Education on personal branding helps MSMEs build a stronger, more consistent, and more recognizable business identity for consumers. Meanwhile, implementing digital marketing strategies enables MSMEs to reach a wider market, increase customer interaction, and sustainably improve sales performance. Structured and applied mentoring has a positive impact on improving digital literacy, promotional creativity, and increasing the confidence of MSMEs in utilizing digital platforms. Thus, optimizing personal branding and digital marketing is not only a promotional tool but also a key strategy for strengthening MSMEs' position amidst increasingly competitive business conditions

Abstract

This Community Service activity is entitled "Legal Counseling on an Introduction to the Technical Preparation of Legal Products in Ambaipua Village." The purpose of this community service activity is to increase the community's understanding and legal awareness regarding the Introduction to the Technical Preparation of Legal Products in Ambaipua Village, thereby providing an understanding of the mechanisms of village regulations and the hierarchy of legislation. The methods used during the community service activity include: (a) lectures to provide direct explanations of the counseling materials; technical training on the preparation of village legal products; and (b) a question-and-answer method to enable the community to gain as much knowledge as possible about the counseling materialsThe legal counseling successfully increased Village Officials' understanding of the hierarchy of legislation, provided technical skills in the preparation of village legal products, and enhanced their understanding of community participation and public consultation.
