Abstract

With the emergence of Industry 4.0, advanced technologies such as artificial intelligence (AI), data analytics, and automation have profoundly transformed the field of accounting. This paper presents a systematic review of recent literature to investigate the evolving landscape of accounting practices influenced by these technological advancements. The study emphasizes the impact of information technology and data analytics on accounting processes and managerial decision-making. Employing a rigorous systematic literature review methodology, relevant academic sources and premier journals were examined under strict inclusion and exclusion criteria. Findings reveal a notable rise in the integration of IT and data analytics within the accounting profession, alongside challenges related to implementation, including the necessity for specialized training and organizational adaptability. The paper concludes by advocating for the creation of comprehensive training programs to support accounting professionals in navigating technological transitions. This review aims to enhance the understanding of current trends in accounting and to guide future research directions in this evolving domain.

Abstract

Sinensetin, a polymethoxylated flavone found in Orthosiphon aristatus (commonly known as Kumis Kucing), was evaluated in silico for its potential inhibitory activity against Aspulvinone Dimethylallyltransferase, an enzyme implicated in cancer-related biosynthetic pathways. The SMILES structure of sinensetin was retrieved from PubChem and analyzed using the PASS online prediction tool (www.way2drug.com). The results showed a high probability of activity (Pa = 0.865) and a very low probability of inactivity (Pi = 0.016), indicating that sinensetin is likely to act as a potent inhibitor of the enzyme. These findings suggest that sinensetin could be a promising anticancer agent candidate by targeting Aspulvinone Dimethylallyltransferase. Further studies are recommended to validate this prediction through molecular docking and biological assays.

Abstract

This study investigated how risk management committee independence moderates the relationship between firm attributes and the financial stability of deposit money banks in Nigeria over a ten-year period, from 2014 to 2023. Employing an ex-post facto research design, the study encompassed all 13 deposit money banks listed on the Nigerian Exchange Group, using a census sampling approach due to the manageable population size. Secondary data were extracted from the banks’ annual reports and financial statements. Financial stability, the dependent variable, was measured using the Altman Z-Score, while the independent variables included firm size, profitability, liquidity, and leverage. Risk management committee independence served as the moderating variable. Panel regression analysis was applied, with results indicating that profitability, leverage, and risk management committee independence each have a significant positive effect on financial stability, whereas firm size and liquidity showed no significant impact in the base model. However, when the moderation effect of risk management committee independence was introduced, firm size, profitability, and leverage all exhibited a positive and significant influence on financial stability, while liquidity remained statistically insignificant. The study concludes that risk management committee independence significantly strengthens the effect of firm size, profitability, and leverage on financial stability, though it does not alter the impact of liquidity. It is recommended that deposit money banks in Nigeria enhance governance structures and adopt dynamic risk management practices to improve profitability and financial resilience without hampering growth.

Abstract

The methodology involves a systematic review of scholarly literature, concentrating on peer-reviewed studies that discuss the efficacy, obstacles, and future directions of AI in stock market forecasting. Results indicate that AI holds significant promise for improving market efficiency and enhancing the understanding of price volatility. Nonetheless, issues such as data integrity, transparency of AI models, and the demand for comprehensive regulatory oversight remain critical concerns. The conclusions emphasize AI’s transformative capacity to process large-scale datasets and forecast market behavior with greater precision. At the same time, the research acknowledges current AI limitations and advocates for a hybrid approach that integrates AI with traditional forecasting techniques and ongoing algorithmic improvements. Recommendations stress the importance of interdisciplinary collaboration among AI developers, ethical scholars, and financial professionals to create AI systems that are transparent, ethically responsible, and operationally effective. Overall, this paper provides an extensive overview of AI’s impact on financial forecasting, offering valuable insights for future research. It highlights both the substantial opportunities and complex challenges AI introduces to stock market analysis, marking a significant step toward more data-driven decision-making in finance.

Abstract

Leukemia remains a significant global health challenge, necessitating the exploration of novel therapeutic agents with improved efficacy and safety profiles. Elephantopus scaber (commonly known as Tapak Liman) is a medicinal plant traditionally used for various ailments, including cancer. Scabertopin, a sesquiterpene lactone isolated from E. scaber, has attracted scientific interest due to its potential antileukemic properties. This study aims to predict the antileukemic activity of Scabertopin through an in silico approach. The compound's chemical structure was retrieved in SMILES format from the PubChem database and analyzed using the PASS (Prediction of Activity Spectra for Substances) online tool. The prediction results indicated a high probability of antileukemic activity, with a Pa (probability of activity) value of 0.822 and a Pi (probability of inactivity) value of 0.004. These findings suggest a strong likelihood that Scabertopin exhibits antileukemic effects, supporting its potential as a candidate for further pharmacological and clinical investigations. The use of computational prediction tools provides an efficient and cost-effective preliminary screening method for identifying promising bioactive compounds from natural sources. This study contributes valuable insights into the therapeutic potential of Scabertopin and highlights the importance of traditional medicinal plants in drug discovery for leukemia treatment.
