Abstract

Gastric ulcers are damage that occurs to the mucosal tissue, submucosa and the muscle layer of the stomach, this condition is caused by hypersecretion of stomach acid. The substance content of VCO has a gastroprotective effect because it includes flavonoid compounds, phenols, catalase, ascorbic acid, and vitamin E, while VCO includes octanoic acid, δ-Octalactone, dodecanoic acid, δ-Decalactone, acetic acid. The aim of this research is to understand the gastroprotective activity resulting from giving a combination of honey and VCO to aspirin-induced rats. Honey and VCO in single administration include one dose, namely 14 ml/kgBW honey and 10 ml/kgBW VCO, while in combination treatment three doses are given, namely 10.5; 7; 3.5 ml/kgBB honey and 7.5; 5; 2.5 ml/kgBB VCO. Then in the combined treatment, 5 variations of doses were given, namely honey and VCO (7:7.5); (7:5); (7:2.5); (10.5:5); (3.5:5) ml/kgBB. TNFα levels before being induced by aspirin, after being induced by aspirin, after honey and VCO therapy, and macroscopic observations on a single treatment showed that administration of honey and VCO at doses of 10.5 ml/kgBW and 5 ml/kgBW showed a gastroprotective effect compared to other doses. Then, in histopathological testing, doses with gastroprotective effects can restore mucosal cell cohesion which has been previously damaged due to erosion. The combination of honey and VCO showed gastroprotective results at a dose of 10.5 ml/kgBB honey and 5 ml/kgBB VCO.

Abstract

The research delves into the multifaceted realm of psychoactive drugs, spirituality, and the exploration of past life memories, known as "pharmacoreincarnation." Psychoactive substances like psilocybin, LSD, and DMT have gained attention for their profound alterations in consciousness and subjective experiences, often described as mystical or spiritual. Belief in reincarnation persists globally, fueled by anecdotal testimonials and cultural traditions. The study aims to explore pharmacoreincarnation through a comprehensive literature review and interdisciplinary perspective. Academic databases such as PubMed, PsycINFO, Scopus, and Google Scholar will be utilized to access relevant articles published in English within the last two decades. Thematic analysis will identify recurring themes and patterns across the literature, synthesizing findings to develop a coherent understanding of pharmacoreincarnation. The methodology involves systematic literature search, screening, and review processes to extract pertinent information aligned with the research objective. The synthesized findings will be organized into logical sections within the literature review, ensuring clarity and rigor. Peer review and revision will validate the quality and accuracy of the review before finalization. The study anticipates contributing significantly to knowledge on pharmacoreincarnation and its implications for consciousness studies, spirituality, and therapeutic practices. Abstract

Sinensetin, a polymethoxylated flavone found in Orthosiphon aristatus (commonly known as Kumis Kucing), was evaluated in silico for its potential inhibitory activity against Aspulvinone Dimethylallyltransferase, an enzyme implicated in cancer-related biosynthetic pathways. The SMILES structure of sinensetin was retrieved from PubChem and analyzed using the PASS online prediction tool (www.way2drug.com). The results showed a high probability of activity (Pa = 0.865) and a very low probability of inactivity (Pi = 0.016), indicating that sinensetin is likely to act as a potent inhibitor of the enzyme. These findings suggest that sinensetin could be a promising anticancer agent candidate by targeting Aspulvinone Dimethylallyltransferase. Further studies are recommended to validate this prediction through molecular docking and biological assays.

Abstract

Flatulence (meteorismus) is a common condition caused by excess gas accumulation in the digestive tract. One alternative traditional treatment to overcome this condition is the use of herbal plants, such as cinnamon (Cinnamomum burmannii). This study aims to predict the potential of eugenol, an active compound in cinnamon, as a carminative agent using an in silico approach. Data were obtained from PubChem and analyzed using PASS Online to predict its pharmacological activity. The results of the analysis showed that eugenol has a probability of activity as a carminative of 0.941 and a probability of inactivity of 0.001, indicating high potential in helping to relieve flatulence. Thus, eugenol in cinnamon has the potential as an alternative natural treatment to overcome digestive disorders, especially bloating.

Abstract

The results of a vaccine acceptance survey conducted by the Ministry of Health together with ITAGI (Indonesian Technical Advisory Group on Immunization) with support from UNICEF and WHO in September 2020 showed that the majority of the public (74 percent) already knew about the government's plans to carry out COVID-19 vaccination. As many as 65 percent are willing to be vaccinated, around 27 percent are still hesitant. And only a small percentage or around 8 percent said they refused because they were worried about the safety, effectiveness and halalness of the vaccine. The survey results also show that those who have information about COVID-19 vaccination are more likely to accept COVID-19 vaccination. This shows the importance of ensuring that all people have access to accurate information about handling COVID-19, including about COVID-19 vaccination. (Ministry of Health, 2021) The problem that arises now is that there is a lot of hoax news circulating through social media that is widely spread to the public. So it can lead public opinion to be afraid and not want to be vaccinated. This socialization was held with the theme "Socialization of Understanding Vaccines in the Jebres Solo Region" to provide education to the public, especially in the Jebres Solo Region, what vaccines are, the benefits of using vaccines for the body in this pandemic condition, the dangers they cause and so on

Abstract

The COVID-19 pandemic has profoundly impacted global public health, prompting a heightened focus on both physical and mental well-being worldwide. In this uncertain landscape, sleep paralysis has emerged as a notable health concern, characterized by the inability to move or speak upon waking or falling asleep, often accompanied by distressing hallucinations. With stress levels on the rise during the pandemic, cases of sleep paralysis have shown an upward trend. Conversely, probiotic beverages like kombucha tea have garnered attention for their potential health benefits, including digestive improvement, enhanced energy levels, and better sleep quality. Despite these benefits, public awareness regarding kombucha tea's efficacy in addressing sleep paralysis remains limited. To address this knowledge gap, a community service program has been developed to educate the public about kombucha tea's potential in managing sleep paralysis amidst the COVID-19 pandemic. The program involves collaboration with local communities, health institutions, and experts in mental health and nutrition. Scheduled for January 2021, the program will be executed across various locations, engaging community members and fostering dialogue on sleep health and nutrition. Preliminary results indicate a significant improvement in public understanding of sleep paralysis and kombucha tea benefits post-program. Participants exhibited heightened awareness of symptoms, causes, and treatment options for sleep paralysis, as well as a better grasp of kombucha tea's health advantages. Practical workshops on kombucha tea preparation garnered considerable interest, signaling a potential shift towards healthier lifestyle choices among participants.
