Abstract

The utilization of Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) technology by the Indonesian National Police (Polri) offers significant potential in enhancing surveillance capabilities, supporting disaster response, border control, traffic monitoring, and various security operations. UAVs enable real-time data collection and remote monitoring, thereby increasing operational efficiency and reducing the risk to human personnel in dangerous environments. Nevertheless, despite these benefits, the implementation of UAVs within Polri is not without its challenges. These challenges are multifaceted, encompassing both technical aspects such as limited system integration, insufficient bandwidth, and battery life issues and non-technical factors, including institutional readiness, inter-agency coordination, and public perception. This study seeks to explore and map the key obstacles that hinder the effective deployment and utilization of UAV technology within Polri's operational framework. Among the most prominent challenges identified are the limited competencies of personnel in operating UAVs, the absence of standardized and comprehensive training programs, and the lack of a dedicated organizational unit specializing in UAV management. In addition, regulatory frameworks governing UAV use in national law enforcement are still evolving and often ambiguous, resulting in legal uncertainties and operational inefficiencies. Furthermore, supporting infrastructure such as maintenance facilities, software systems, and data security protocols remains inadequate in many regional units. The findings emphasize that the most pressing issues include not only the absence of technical know-how and system integration limitations but also the weak institutional regulation and strategic vision for UAV deployment. These results underline the urgent need for comprehensive capacity building, clearer inter-institutional guidelines, and sustainable investment in UAV-related infrastructure to ensure that the adoption of drone technology can effectively support Polri’s broader mandate of maintaining national security and public order.

Abstract

Economics lessons are still perceived as boring due to the use of lecture-based teaching methods. This leads to a lack of students' ability to develop creative thinking potential and makes students tend to be passive. Therefore, an appropriate teaching method is required, namely the TPACK teaching method. The objective of this research is to determine the effectiveness of TPACK-based instruction in enhancing the creative thinking abilities of high school students in economics. This research is a quantitative research employing an experimental method with a nonequivalent control group design. The data collection techniques utilized in this research involve observation and testing methods. Based on the analysis results, the t-test calculations conducted using SPSS present an average score of 78.85 for the experimental group, which is higher when compared to the average score of 74.90 for the control group. This indicates that the enhancement of students' creative thinking abilities in economics using TPACK-based learning is more effective compared to the enhancement of students' creative thinking abilities using conventional learning.

Abstract

This study examines whether government initiatives aimed at promoting educational equity in China may be weakened or counteracted by forces that sustain or recreate educational inequality. Although recent policies such as the cancellation of demonstration schools and the implementation of the “double reduction” policy seek to reduce disparities, theories of Maximally Maintained Inequality (MMI) and Effectively Maintained Inequality (EMI) suggest that socioeconomically advantaged families often adopt strategic behaviors to preserve their competitive edge. Using data from the 2014–2015 China Education Panel Survey (CEPS), this study analyzes 10,751 eighth-grade students and employs both OLS and Probit regression models to assess how educational costs and educational balance influence families’ choices regarding shadow education products. The results indicate that even when opportunities appear more equal, high-SES families continue to obtain advantages through selective and resource-driven participation in shadow education, thereby sustaining existing inequalities. Furthermore, policies intended to reduce educational costs and promote fairness have unintentionally encouraged greater consumption of shadow education services, leading to new forms of inequality. These findings highlight that government-driven efforts to achieve educational equity may be undermined by persistent consumption-based mechanisms of inequality, suggesting that current reforms may be insufficient to fully realize equitable educational outcomes

Abstract

The economics of standards (EOS) plays a critical role in improving product quality, stabilizing markets, and enhancing efficiency, yet its integration into tertiary-level economics education remains limited. This study aims to address this gap by proposing a comprehensive CMFS pedagogical framework—encompassing content, mode, faculty, and students—to guide the development of EOS teaching in higher education. Using a qualitative review of international policy documents, institutional practices, and China’s emerging EOS education initiatives, the study analyzes how standards-related knowledge is currently positioned within tertiary economics curricula and identifies barriers to effective implementation. The findings show that EOS has not yet been systematically incorporated into university-level economics programs, largely due to insufficient research, limited course offerings, and inadequate faculty expertise. Global organizations have begun introducing EOS elements into economics education plans, and China has taken early steps to embed standards into tertiary-level teaching and research. The proposed CMFS framework provides practical approaches for strengthening EOS pedagogy, including integrating EOS modules into existing economics courses, diversifying teaching methods, and building faculty capacity. The study concludes that coordinated efforts among governments, educational institutions, industry stakeholders, standards bodies, and international organizations are essential to advance EOS education. Strengthening multidisciplinary and cross-border collaboration will support deeper theoretical development and enhance the long-term contribution of EOS teaching to the evolution of economics education.

Abstract

Global tourism is projected to fully recover by 2024, presenting a significant opportunity for the tourism and hospitality industry worldwide. However, companies in this sector continue to face challenges such as a turbulent external environment, high competitiveness, and a lack of confidence in the industry’s recovery. To address these challenges, companies must focus on service innovation and improving their service innovation performance (SIP). Exploring SIP at the individual level is crucial because individual innovation is the foundation of organizational SIP. Based on the resource-based view (RBV), the knowledge-based view (KBV) and contingency theory, this study constructs the research paradigm of "internal and external innovation environment-individual capability-innovation performance" and puts forward the conceptual model of this study. This study aims to clarify the influence mechanism of internal and external innovation environment factors on service innovation performance at the individual level. A total of 417 questionnaires were collected for analysis from middle and senior management employees of star hotels in China. The results showed that there are direct and indirect effects on both paths of knowledge sharing and technology turbulence and SIP, with information literacy playing a mediating role; Furthermore, the study suggests that market turbulence has a positive moderating effect on the relationship between technology turbulence and information literacy. These findings have both practical and theoretical implications.
