Abstract

This modest research seeks to highlight the excitement of the "Stabbing Word" game in enhancing Arabic vocabulary acquisition among seventh-grade students at Mulana Malik Ibrahim Islamic School, in addition to measuring its impact post implementation. This research follows a quantitative, quasi-experimental approach within a single-group design. Primary and secondary data were collected from various sources using observation, testing, and documentation methods. The data were analyzed using educational statistics, specifically the t-test. The study concludes that there is a positive impact of using the Stabbing Word game on students' vocabulary comprehension, based on pre-test and post-test results. The calculated t-value was 5.97, exceeding the critical t-values of 2.78 (at 1% significance) and 2.06 (at 5% significance). This indicates that the alternative hypothesis is supported. The effect size of employing the Stabbing Word game for Arabic vocabulary acquisition among students was significant at 10172, indicating a very large impact according to Cohen's guidelines. Therefore, the use of this game type is considered effective for enhancing Arabic vocabulary among seventh-grade students

Abstract

This research aims to analyse the 2013 curriculum Arabic language textbook based on the theory of multiple intelligences. The research uses a qualitative descriptive approach with content analysis method for the 7th grade student textbook of Islamic junior high school under the 2013 curriculum with the topic "Let's Understand Arabic". The purpose of this study is to identify the multiple intelligences present in the student textbook, determine the unit of analysis, determine the sample, prepare a coding guide, collect data, analyze the harmony between the book and the concept of multiple intelligences, describe the results of the analysis based on the multiple intelligence concept, draw conclusions and provide recommendations. The study revealed that the 7th grade student textbook under the topic "Let's Understand Arabic" did not adequately facilitate the development of students' multiple intelligences, as the distribution of multiple intelligences in the book is uneven. The most prevalent intelligences in the book are linguistic intelligence at 31% and visual-spatial intelligence at 31%, followed by logical-mathematical intelligence at 26%, while the least represented intelligences are bodily-kinesthetics and interpersonal intelligences at 6% each. To enhance these intelligences, instructional materials on songs, rhythms, rhythmic patterns, etc. can be added, and discussion on symbolic behaviour and dasa dharma behaviour can be expanded. Thus, developing instructional materials in student textbooks is an important step for authors or writers in maximizing the development of students' intelligences.

Abstract

Writing ability is one of the Arabic language skills that is often considered difficult by students in Indonesia. This difficulty is often caused by learning methods that focus more on grammar theory rather than active writing practice. This study aims to evaluate the effectiveness of applying daily essay as a learning approach in improving Arabic writing skills. The method used was an experiment with a pre-test and post-test design on two groups: the experimental group using the daily journal technique and the control group using conventional learning methods. The results showed that the application of daily essays can significantly improve students' writing skills, especially in terms of mastery of vocabulary, grammar, sentence structure, and creative delivery of ideas. The average post-test score in the experimental group reached 85.4, while the control group only reached 76.8. In addition, this technique also had a positive impact on students‘ motivation and participation in the learning process. This study also found some obstacles in applying the daily journal technique, such as students’ difficulties in determining writing topics and teachers' limited time to provide feedback. These obstacles can be overcome by providing more specific topic directions and focusing feedback on certain aspects of students' writing. The results of this study support previous findings which state that consistent writing practice can improve language skills. The daily journal technique proved to be an effective and relevant method to be applied in Arabic language learning, especially in Indonesia. Further research is recommended to examine the application of this technique in other aspects of language skills, such as speaking and reading.
