Abstract

This paper aims to delve deeper into legal interpretation (Tafsir Hukmi) by examining the history of the emergence of legal approaches in the interpretation of the Quran, defining the scope of the term, exploring debates among scholars, and providing examples of Quranic exegesis books adopting legal approaches. The research methodology used is a literature-based descriptive analysis with a historical and exegetical perspective. The results of the study show that legal interpretation (Tafsir Hukmi) is one of the Quranic interpretation styles that employ legal theories and approaches. This approach has its roots dating back to the time of Prophet Muhammad and continued to evolve with the emergence of the school of jurisprudence (Imam Madzhab) scholars who had varying interpretations of Islamic jurisprudence. The scope of the term “Tafsir Hukmi” encompasses discussions related to the Islamic legal laws in the Quran. Quranic exegesis books following the legal approach can be found within various schools of thought, including Shia Imamiyah, Shia Zaidiyah, Maliki, Hanafi, Hanbali, Shafi'i, and Zahiri.

Abstract

Poverty in Indonesia is often a concentrated issue in rural areas. Although the government has provided various incentives to improve the rural economy, the results have not brought significant change. This is due to the incomplete effectiveness of rural community empowerment management, resulting in a lack of creativity and innovation in villages. This article aims to explore the concept of community empowerment from the perspective of the Quran, using a social entrepreneurship model through Village-Owned Enterprises (BUMDes) as a solution to address rural poverty. The social entrepreneurship model is chosen because of its integration of social and economic issues and its invitation for the entire village community to participate in this change. Using a descriptive-analytic approach based on the thematic interpretation of the Quran, this article concludes that the Quran provides guidelines for community empowerment that include at least three crucial aspects: 1) opportunity, 2) capacity, and 3) authority. These three aspects form the basis for the implementation of social entrepreneurship through BUMDes in a way that has the potential and proportionality to empower rural communities. One example of a village that has successfully implemented this model is Kertayasa Village. To date, Kertayasa Village has achieved relative success in building social entrepreneurship through BUMDes. The success of this social entrepreneurship model reflects an approach that prioritizes social welfare collectively over individual economic gains.

Abstract

Penulisan ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui mengetahui definisi ushul al-tafsir, tafsir, referensi buku tafsir, sejarah, hukum mempelajari tafsir dan pembagiannya. Adapun metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini yaitu dengan library research, kajian pustaka. Hasil dari penelitian ini, ditemukan pokok bahasan bahwasannya tafsir adalah menjelaskan makna ayat Al-Qur'an, keadaan cerita, dan penyebab turunnya ayat tersebut dengan menggunakan lafal yang menunjukkan makna zahir. Upaya penafsiran sudah ada sejak zaman Nabi saw dan mengalami perkembangan, ada sampai sekarang. Dalam mempelajari tafsir terdapat banyak maraji’ atau referensi sebagai bahan bacaan, dan hukum mempelajarinya sangat dianjurkan. Dalam penafsiran terbagi menjadi tiga diantaranya yaitu dengan mempertimbangkan apa yang diketahui orang terhadap mufasir, kemudian dari cara untuk mencapainya, dan metode penafsirannya.

Abstract

This writing aims to understand the definition of ushul al-tafsir, tafsir, reference books of tafsir, its history, the legal aspects of studying tafsir, and its divisions. The research method employed in this study is library research and literature review. The results of this research reveal that the core subject matter is that tafsir explains the meaning of Quranic verses, the context of the story, and the reasons for the revelation of these verses using expressions that convey the apparent meaning. The practice of interpretation has existed since the time of the Prophet Muhammad and has evolved to the present day. In the study of tafsir, there are numerous sources or references as reading material, and it is highly recommended to study it. Tafsir can be divided into three categories, including considering what is known about the commentator, the approach used to attain it, and the methods of interpretation.

Abstract

Al-Qur'an, sebagai panduan bagi seluruh umat Islam, mengatur segala aspek kehidupan Umat Islam dan manusia secara umum, termasuk dalam konteks jihad. Namun, penafsiran terhadap lafaz “jihad” oleh para mufasir tidak menjamin adanya pola dan interpretasi yang seragam. Oleh karena itu, penelitian ini berfokus pada penafsiran jihad oleh Imam Ath-Thabari dan perbandingannya dengan penafsiran Quraish Shihab, serta mengungkapkan sebab perbedaan pendapat keduanya terhadap lafaz “jihad”. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah kualitatif dengan pengumpulan data dari berbagai literatur terkait topik jihad. Pendekatan deskriptif diterapkan untuk menghasilkan gambaran yang sistematis dan faktual sesuai dengan kenyataan. Hasil penelitian ini mengungkap perbedaan dalam penafsiran antara Ath-Thabari dan Quraish Shihab. Salah satu perbedaan mencolok adalah pandangan Ath-Thabari yang mengartikan jihad lebih cenderung sebagai berperang di jalan Allah, sementara Quraish Shihab memandang bahwa jihad dapat dicapai melalui amal sholeh. Perbedaan ini disebabkan oleh pemahaman dan pemilihan makna yang beragam terhadap lafaz “jihad” dalam konteks ayat-ayat tertentu. Meskipun terdapat ikhtilaf tanawu' antara keduanya, namun makna dan tujuan jihad tetap sama, yaitu usaha untuk menegakkan agama Allah SWT meskipun dengan pendekatan yang berbeda.

Abstract

Tafsir Kontemporer terpengaruh adanya pemikiran moderen yang terlebih dahulu ada dalam merespon Al-Qur’an sehingga tafsir di abad kontemporer memiliki paradigma yang berbeda. Jika penafsiran klasik memiliki prinsip bahwa Al-Qur’an shalih likulli zaman wa makan, pemahaman menjadi cenderung tekstualis dan literalis. Tetapi pada Tafsir kontemporer prinsip tersebut dipahami lebih kontekstual. Metode yang digunakan penelitian ini adalah dengan menggunakan metode penelitian pendekatan secara kualitatif melalui analisis deskriptif, yaitu dengan mengkaji pokok permasalahan secara rinci dan melakukan library research sebagai sumber kajian dan penelitian.Tafsir kontemporer ialah Tafsir atau penjelasan ayat Al-Qur’an yang disesuaikan dengan kondisi kekinian atau saat ini‟yang tentunya berbeda dengan tafsir klasik. Kemunculan Tafsir kontemporer erat kaitannya dengan munculnya istilah pembaharuan yang dipopulerkan ulama kontemporer yang menginginkan pendekatan dan metodologi baru dalam memahami Islam. Persepsi pembaharu memandang bahwa Pemahaman Al-Qur’an yang terkesan jalan di tempat. Adapun metode yang kerap kali digunakan oleh para mufassir kontemporer adalah metode maudhu’i dan metode kontekstual.Tafsir kontemporer bersemangat mengembalikan Al-Qur’an sebagai kitab petunjuk. paradigma tafsir kontemporer didasarkan semangat hermenetik dimana Hermeneutika adalah bidang ilmu yang membahas praktik penafsiran, metode-metode, prinsip-prinsip dan filsafat penafsiran. Az-Zahabi dalam at-Tafsir wa al-Mufassirun menjelaskan corak yang berkembang pada masa kontemporer ada lima, yaitu: corak‘ilmi, madzhabi, ilhadi, falsafi, dan adabi ijtima’i. Mufasir Indonesia Kontemporer diantaranya Muhammad Quraish Shihab dan Nadirsyah Hosen.

Abstract

Specifically, issues related to Prophet Isa are discussed in 15 surahs and 93 verses in the Quran. The name of Prophet Isa is mentioned 25 times in the Quran, scattered across fifteen different surahs. Meanwhile, the term “Al-Masih” is mentioned 9 times, with a direct discussion of death and crucifixion explained only in one verse, namely QS. An-Nisa verses 157-158. These verses are often interpreted by Muslims as the basis for the belief that Prophet Isa did not die. This view differs theologically from the Christian belief that Jesus was crucified and died to redeem the sins of humanity. The understanding of the Quranic text is further explored through the interpretations of Mufassirin, with the hope of producing the best interpretation from Abdullah Saeed and a more comprehensive understanding of the text. The type of research conducted is literature research, where the researcher focuses on collecting data and information from various sources in the library, including books, journals, manuscripts, notes, historical stories, and documents. Abdullah Saeed acknowledges that the Quran is the revelation of God sent to Muhammad, and he believes that the Quran existing today is the original holy book. However, Saeed also notes concerns about the numerous textual interpretations that tend to stop at literal exploration alone. Through this analysis, Saeed seeks to show the complexity of the meaning of the Quran that cannot be overcome by mere literature exploration. Therefore, in the current era of globalization, he advocates a contextual approach to find the true meaning of the text.

Abstract

Penelitian ini pada dasarnya ingin mendalami: (1) bagaimana konstruksi pemikiran ulama Persis tentang poligami dalam persepsi perempuan Persis; (2) bagaimana makna poligami dipahami oleh kalangan perempuan Persis; dan (3) bagaimana konstruksi realitas empirik keberagamaan perempuan Persis terkait poligami tersebut. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan dan metode kualitatif, dengan metode sosio-fenomenologis, khususnya teori interaksionisme simbolik dan teori konstruksi sosial dalam sosiologi pengetahuan Bergerian, sebagai metode analisa datanya. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa konstruksi pemikiran para ulama Persis cukup beragam dalam memahami doktrin tentang poligami. Perbedaan latarbelakang pendidikan menjadi salah satu penyebab keragaman pemahaman para ulama (asatidz) Persis tersebut. Titik tekan perdebatan terletak pada pemaknaan keadilan dalam poligami, persyaratan poligami, pemaknaan jumlah istri, dan pemberian status ayat-ayat tentang poligami, baik sebagai mutasyabihat ataupun muhkamat. Dalam hal pemaknaan poligami oleh kalangan perempuan Persis sendiri, maka terdapat pengaruh sosio-kultural kesundaan, yang membuat perempuan Persis di Garut memiliki posisi yang setara dengan laki-laki. Hal ini pada gilirannya membuat mereka lebih bisa menegaskan penolakan terhadap poligami secara personal, meskipun mereka juga mengakui kebolehan praktik poligami tersebut sebagai bagian dari ajaran Islam. Dalam praktiknya, jarang sekali ditemukan perempuan Persis yang berpoligami, terutama karena persepsi yang dibangun atas poligami sebagai ajaran dengan persyaratan yang hampir mustahil untuk dipenuhi (suprahumanisasi poligami).

Abstract

Emphasizing the importance of reproductive health, especially for women, because reproductive health is a guarantee of their survival. The research is a qualitative and descriptive analysis using primary sources Q.S Maryam 22-26, Qs. al-Baqarah: 233, as well as secondary sources taken from tafsir books and other scientific works on the term al-Makhad and yurdi’na, which are reproductive organs. The results of the discussion showed that women cannot be free from the feeling of contractions during childbirth. This is also explained in the Qur'an when telling about the process of Jesus' birth that Maryam went through in (QS. Maryam: 22-26). Pronunciation of al-Makhad in this verse, it is better known as pain during childbirth or commonly known in contemporary terms, namely contractions. A woman's pain during childbirth should not be aggravated by adverse environmental conditions. Women who give birth must have the support of those closest to them, especially her husband, to reduce the burden of the pain she is experiencing. Then breastfeeding normally uses the term yurdi’na, in fact breast milk is a form of sustenance that fathers must give to their children through the mother through the act of yurdi’na (breastfeeding). This research is expected to contribute to new knowledge and not discriminate against women when experiencing the psychological burden of childbirth and breastfeeding, and is useful for Qur'anic researchers related to the discussion of women's reproductive health.

Abstract

This research examines the interpretations of the verses about heavenly maidens, comparing the perspectives of traditional Islamic scholars with those of feminist interpreters. The objective of this study is to understand the feminist interpreters' perspectives on the verses concerning heavenly maidens in the Quran. This is a qualitative research study that utilizes data from various library sources to provide an analytical description of the verses related to heavenly maidens. Primary sources such as classical Quranic exegesis texts and related works are used as secondary sources. The results of this study reveal several concepts of heavenly maidens in the Quran, with a focus on two specific terms. The first term relates to the phrase “azwaju muthahharoh,” mentioned in the Quran to signify spouses for the righteous in paradise. The second term is related to “Hur al-‘in,” describing the heavenly maidens' physical attributes. These two terms are the primary focus of discussion in this paper because classical Islamic scholars and feminist interpreters offer differing interpretations, leading to varying conclusions regarding the meaning of heavenly maidens. Therefore, through this scholarly paper, we will analyze the feminist interpretation of the Houri verses according to Faqihudin Abdul Kodir.
