Abstract

This article aims to hold a graphic design training using the Canva application for students of SMP Negeri 4 Muaro Jambi. With the rapid development of information and communication technology, education now benefits greatly from faster access to information and more flexible learning methods, such as online learning and blended learning. The method used in this training is service learning, which combines academic learning with community empowerment efforts. The training took place with two main agendas, namely the introduction of Canva features and a poster making competition. The results of the training show that students and teachers are interested in using Canva as a tool in the learning process, and can create design works that can be published on social media or used for other purposes. This study concludes that the use of the Canva application provides long-term benefits in improving students' creativity and digital skills, as well as making it easier for educators to deliver learning materials

Abstract

This community service activity aims to provide an understanding of the importance of human resource management in the digital era and strategies that can be applied in Kassi Village, Rumbia District, Jeneponto Regency in facing the development of the digital economy by utilizing digital tools systems, skilled in using several digital platforms, such as: cloud-based cashier applications, social media applications, tools for data analysis, and so on. The method used in this community service is first by conducting direct observation and conducting counseling and training on how to increase the competitiveness of UMKMs through strategies building digital infrastructure, increasing digital literacy, building a digital work culture, creating a digital entrepreneurial ecosystem, and developing digital talent. The results of this activity are very useful because they can increase the insight and knowledge of UMKM actors. In addition, the support and motivation from the Head of Kassi Village made UMKM actors very enthusiastic in participating in the training.

Abstract

This service program aims to improve the public speaking skills of children at the Patmos Orphanage through an approach that involves independent training, educational games, and social support from Bumigora University students who are members of UKM Oikumene. The methods used in this program include the delivery of material through presentations, questions and answers, and active games such as marbles relays on a spoon, chain stories, and guessing styles. The program involved 30 children as participants who were guided by students to develop public speaking skills. Data analysis is carried out qualitatively with the stages of data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The results of the service showed that this approach was effective in helping children be more confident in speaking in front of others, both in informal and formal contexts. The involvement of students as facilitators provides social support that strengthens the learning process, so that children feel more comfortable and excited in practicing. The novelty of this research lies in the application of fun and interactive methods to develop soft skills of children in orphanages. This program contributes to the development of children's communication skills as part of efforts to improve the quality of human resources in Indonesia

Abstract

The risks of soft drink consumption are such as overweight and obesity, dental caries, diabetes, osteoporosis and bone fractures. To prevent this, it is necessary to make efforts to provide health education so that people can control their lifestyle in a better direction. One of the objectives of health education is counseling on the importance of maintaining health in consuming packaged drinks in adolescents at Bethany Junior High School Medan. The result of the counseling that has been carried out on adolescents is to play an active role in counseling activities on the importance of maintaining health in consuming packaged drinks for adolescents at Bethany Junior High School in Medan. The purpose of this counseling activity on the Importance of Maintaining Health in Consuming Packaged Drinks in Adolescents was carried out as an effort to increase knowledge about the importance of maintaining health in consuming packaged drinks. To achieve the purpose of counseling, the methods used are lectures and the provision of health education information about the importance of maintaining health in consuming packaged drinks in adolescents. The results of counseling to teenagers at Bethany Medan Junior High School showed that the average knowledge score before and after health education was carried out had a difference of 2.37 points

Abstract

Waste management is a crucial issue in maintaining environmental sustainability, especially in an educational environment that produces significant amounts of organic and inorganic waste. This study aims to evaluate the effectiveness of the counseling program on waste management at Nurul Amaliyah Private Vocational School and provide recommendations for a more sustainable system. The method used is a qualitative descriptive approach with observation, interview, and questionnaire techniques involving students, educators, and cleaning staff. The results of the study showed that after participating in counseling, students' understanding of waste classification and processing increased significantly. However, the main obstacles faced in the implementation of the waste management system are the lack of supporting facilities, such as adequate sorted waste bins and the absence of an integrated compost-based waste management system. As a solution, it is recommended that schools implement a sustainable approach by providing better waste management facilities, conducting periodic training, and collaborating with external parties in supporting recycling programs. In addition, strengthening the environment-based curriculum can also be an effective strategy in instilling ecological awareness in students from an early age.

Abstract

Madrasah Tsanawiyah Azzidin Medan, which was opened in 2010, is a junior high school-level madrasah in Medan City. At that time, this madrasah had 123 students. Madrasah Tsanawiyah Azzidin Medan had 85% of students in 2023, but in 2024 the number dropped to 73 students. This madrasah strives to produce marketing personnel who are able to improve accurate communication in digital media and tend to be objective. Continuous training is needed, where this training aims to improve the ability to promote through effective communication in order to increase the number of new students at Madrasah Tsanawiyah Azzidin Medan. The materials used for this training are wifi networks, materials for creating marketing websites via computers, laptops, complete hardware and software, and books on communication techniques in advertising, while the method of implementing community service is carried out using lecture, practice and simulation methods, where the results of implementing community service through digital marketing training from the Azzidin Medan Middle School can increase the understanding and knowledge of training participants about digital marketing by 85% of the total 37 participants who attended.

Abstract

Rapid changes in the world of technology require updates in learning approaches, especially in the field of mathematics which is often difficult to understand because of its abstract nature, such as material related to three-dimensional shapes. However, conventional methods are still dominant in the classroom, thus limiting students' understanding. One alternative that can answer this challenge is the use of Augmented Reality (AR). This community service activity was carried out together with the MGMP Mathematics SMP teacher forum in Serang City and aims to provide teachers with knowledge and skills in applying AR to mathematics learning for the material of Spatial Buildings. The implementation process involves four stages, namely identification of initial conditions, preparation of activity plans, implementation of training, and evaluation of results. A total of 67 teachers who attended from the invitation (socialization) from various class levels actively participated in this activity. The results showed an increase in teacher knowledge and abilities in integrating AR technology into a more interesting and meaningful learning process. The responses given by participants also showed high enthusiasm for the sustainability of similar programs. Therefore, follow-up programs such as intensive mentoring and development of AR-based teaching materials that are in accordance with the needs of the national curriculum are highly recommended to support the transformation of mathematics learning in schools.
