Abstract

The integration between science and religion, especially Islam, is becoming increasingly relevant in the era of globalization. This research aims to examine Sanusi's thinking about the integration of science and the obligations of Muslims in mastering the knowledge of the world and the hereafter. Through a critical analysis of Sanusi's interpretation of the verses of the Qur'an, this study seeks to uncover how Sanusi articulates the importance of science in the religious context and daily life of Muslims. The research method used is a qualitative method with a descriptive-analytical approach. The data was collected through a literature study involving Sanusi's works, including Qur'anic commentaries, books, and other relevant writings. In addition, textual analysis was carried out on the verses of the Qur'an that became the basis of Sanusi's thinking about science. The results of the study show that Sanusi firmly rejects the dichotomy between religious science and world science. He emphasized that the two types of knowledge must be integrated to achieve the perfect balance of life for Muslims. Sanusi also harshly criticized Muslims who ignore the world's science, considering them no different from animals that do not take advantage of the reason and knowledge given by Allah. His thoughts highlight the importance of natural science as a means to know God's greatness and increase faith. In addition, Sanusi emphasized that mastery of science is the key to achieving progress and overcoming colonialism. Thus, this study confirms that the integration of natural sciences and religion, as proposed by Sanusi, is an important foundation for the development of education and the advancement of Muslims in the modern era.

Abstract

Interesting and enjoyable learning methods have a big influence on the learning atmosphere in the classroom. Therefore, teacher strategies are needed in the learning process, one of which is by implementing appropriate learning methods or models to support the sustainability of effective learning. One of the models used is discovery learning. This study is classified as qualitative research that uses data collection methods through observation, interviews, and documentation. The results of the study indicate that the application of discovery learning in the subject of Aqidah Akhlak at MTs Salafiyah Nurul Qomar Pekalongan is carried out through three main stages. First, preparation for the implementation of the discovery learning model, which includes making lesson plans, compiling syllabuses, and providing handbooks and materials that are ready to use. Second, the implementation of learning is carried out in three stages. In the preliminary stage, the activity begins with the teacher greeting, conveying learning objectives, and providing apperception. In the core stage, students are given stimulus to identify problems, collect data, process data, prove, and draw conclusions (generalization). The closing stage is carried out by giving appreciation to the results of student work, accompanied by final motivation from the teacher. Third, learning evaluation is an indicator of the success of implementing this model, which is evident from the significant increase in student grades. The application of the discovery learning method has been proven to improve students' learning process in terms of knowledge, attitudes, and motor skills. This model also provides students with broader insights. Therefore, consistent application of discovery learning is highly recommended so that students are accustomed to thinking critically, finding new solutions, and exploring problems better.

Abstract

Teaching Arabic in Indonesia plays an important role in Islamic education, yet its implementation often encounters various challenges. This study aims to analyze the difficulties faced by lecturers in teaching Arabic at the Shalahuddin Al-Ayyubi Institute of Islamic Studies and to formulate solutions for improving the quality of instruction. Using a qualitative approach through interviews, classroom observations, and document analysis, the study identifies several issues, including limited teaching resources, less effective teaching methods, and low levels of interaction between lecturers and students. The findings also highlight the need to integrate technology and interactive methods, as students respond more positively to such approaches. Based on these results, the study recommends curriculum development and lecturer training to enhance teaching practices. These findings are expected to serve as a reference for improving the quality of Arabic language education at the institution.

Abstract

The lack of national insight of the younger generation amidst the rapid flow of globalization and development of information technology is a big challenge for the sustainability of the nation’s integrity. This research aims to analyze the strengthening of the nationalistic insight of the younger generation through the internalization of religious values. The method used is qualitative research based on library research with a descriptive-analytical approach. Data sources are taken from various scientific literatures related to national insight, young generation character, and religious values. The results show that national insight can be strengthened through the internalization of religious values such as tolerance, honesty, responsibility, and compassion. This internalization can be done through formal education, family, social environment, and digital media. The young generation has a strategic role as agents of change who are able to bridge national and religious values in the life of the nation.

Abstract

This study aims to determine how the application of a holistic approach in learning is used and its impact on student development at Al-Azzam Kindergarten Munjul Pandeglang. This research emphasizes the importance of developing children's potential as a whole, which includes cognitive, affective, psychomotor, emotional, social, and spiritual aspects. Using descriptive qualitative methods, data were collected through interviews, observations, and documentation involving teachers as participants in the learning process. Analysis followed the stages of data reduction, presentation, and conclusion drawing. The results show that the holistic approach improves children's understanding of life values, fosters moral character, and builds strong social awareness. The results of this study indicate that holistic learning is very relevant for early childhood education, as it makes a significant contribution in shaping individuals who have strong faith and integrity.

Abstract

This research is motivated by the crucial role of Madrasah Diniyah as an Islamic educational institution that not only teaches religious values but also contributes to community empowerment, thereby improving the quality of life. The purpose of this study is to analyze how Madrasah Diniyah functions as a center for education and socio-economic empowerment in a sustainable manner. The methodology used is a literature review that examines relevant studies on the roles, functions, and challenges of Madrasah Diniyah in a social context. The principal results highlight that Madrasah Diniyah effectively shapes students' character, empowers local economies, and strengthens social capital through community activities. The major contribution of this research is to affirm Madrasah Diniyah as a social change agent, integrating religious education with community empowerment, thereby positively impacting the sustainable improvement of quality of life. In conclusion, Madrasah Diniyah requires adequate policy support and resources to overcome challenges and promote innovation and synergy with various stakeholders for sustainable development.

Abstract

This study aims to examine financial management in Islamic religious education through a library research method, utilizing various relevant sources such as books, journal articles, and previous research findings. A descriptive qualitative analysis was employed to explore the principles and implementation of effective financial management in Islamic educational institutions. The findings indicate that financial management in Islamic education should be based on Islamic values such as trustworthiness, transparency, accountability, justice, efficiency, and effectiveness, which serve as the foundation for a professional, accountable, and worship-oriented financial system. The financial management process includes planning, organizing, budget implementation, as well as supervision and evaluation, all of which aim to ensure the effective and efficient use of funds to improve the quality of education. Applying these principles enables educational institutions to establish sustainable financial governance, strengthen public trust, and support the comprehensive achievement of the vision and mission of Islamic education.

Abstract

Islamic education in Indonesia faces multifaceted challenges in the globalized era, particularly concerning the integration of spiritual values within formal educational systems. The study originates from concerns about the declining role of spiritual dimensions in education, overshadowed by cognitive-dominated approaches and materialistic cultural pressures. This research identifies key constraints in implementing Islamic education and explores strategic opportunities for transforming the learning process grounded in spiritual and character values. A reflective qualitative method was applied through a narrative synthesis of diverse perspectives on contemporary Islamic education, including concepts such as tarbiyah nafs, Islamic learning psychology, and institutional practices in Indonesia. Thematic analysis was employed to investigate both the challenges and the innovative prospects relevant to the local sociocultural context. Findings reveal significant potential for Islamic education to foster character development by revitalizing spiritual traditions, leveraging digital technologies for spiritual learning, and strengthening the role of educators as spiritual exemplars. Despite persistent issues such as curriculum fragmentation, student motivation crises, and external value pressures, opportunities for reform remain wide open. These include pedagogical innovations and collaborative engagement among stakeholders. Islamic education in Indonesia can evolve as a pillar of social transformation—one that enlightens minds while purifying souls.

Abstract

This study examines the use of Canva in strengthening teachers’ professional competence, particularly in the planning and implementation of creative and interactive learning. The research is grounded in the demands of 21st-century education, which position digital technology mastery as an integral component of teacher professionalism. A qualitative descriptive approach was employed, with data collected through open-ended questionnaires involving 20 teachers from early childhood, primary, and secondary education levels in Tangerang Regency, Indonesia. The data were analyzed using thematic analysis, encompassing open coding, category development, and theme generation. Data validity was ensured through response consistency checks and repeated data review. The findings reveal three main themes: (1) the use of Canva as a means to enhance teachers’ efficiency and autonomy in designing learning media, (2) the strengthening of professional creativity through the use of diverse templates and visual features, and (3) Canva’s contribution to fostering more active learning interactions based on students’ learning responses. These results indicate that Canva functions not merely as a design support tool, but as a pedagogical medium that facilitates the development of teachers’ professional competence. This study contributes to the field of educational technology by providing empirical evidence of Canva’s role in reinforcing teacher professionalism across educational levels and by highlighting its relevance as an adaptive digital learning medium for creative and interactive instructional practices.

Abstract

The development of digital technology in the modern era has brought significant changes to the way humans interact, especially among the younger generation. The emergence of a culture of digital individualism has made social relationships increasingly shallow, with virtual connectivity often replacing genuine emotional closeness. In this context, Islamic education plays a crucial role in instilling empathy and building social awareness based on Islamic moral and spiritual teachings. This study aims to examine how Islamic educational institutions contribute to fostering empathy amidst the increasingly strong tide of digital individualism. The study employed qualitative methods with a desk study approach, drawing on relevant literature on Islamic education, educational sociology, and character education from the past five years. The results indicate that Islamic education serves not only to transfer knowledge but also as a means of internalizing humanitarian values ​​such as compassion (rahmah), social responsibility, and justice ('adl). Through the integration of Islamic values ​​into the curriculum, school culture, and teacher role models, educational institutions can strengthen students' empathy and social solidarity. In conclusion, Islamic education plays a vital role as a moral and social bulwark against the impacts of digital individualism, thereby producing a generation that is not only intellectually intelligent but also possesses social and spiritual sensitivity.
