Abstract

Financial literacy has become an essential competency in modern society, particularly in an era characterized by rapid technological advancement and increasing access to financial services. Individuals are now exposed to various financial products such as digital banking, online investments, and instant credit facilities. While these developments provide convenience, they also require individuals to possess adequate financial knowledge and skills to manage their financial resources effectively. This study aims to analyze the influence of financial literacy on individual financial management behavior using a descriptive quantitative approach. The study utilizes secondary data derived from national surveys and relevant academic literature. The findings indicate that financial literacy plays a significant role in shaping financial behavior. Individuals with higher financial literacy tend to demonstrate better financial management practices, including budgeting, saving, and making informed financial decisions. Conversely, individuals with low financial literacy are more likely to engage in poor financial behaviors, such as excessive consumption, lack of financial planning, and inefficient use of financial services. The study concludes that improving financial literacy is crucial in enhancing financial well-being and promoting responsible financial behavior among individuals.

Abstract

Indonesia, with its rich tropical forests, faces serious threats from deforestation and illegal logging, impacting both the environment and society. This article analyzes the problems of deforestation and illegal logging in Indonesia through the lens of Islamic political economy. By examining the ecological and socio-economic impacts, as well as weaknesses in forest governance, this research offers solutions based on Islamic values. The concepts of ownership (milkiyyah) as a trust (amanah), the principle of public interest (maslaha), and the role of humans as vicegerents (khalifah) on earth serve as the ethical foundation. Empirical data reveal an alarming rate of deforestation, even within legal concession areas. Proposed solutions include fair law enforcement, community-based oversight (hisbah), Islamic environmental education, local economic empowerment, public policies based on maslaha, and the utilization of Islamic financial instruments such as green sukuk. This article concludes that the deforestation crisis is not merely a technical issue, but also an ethical and spiritual crisis demanding comprehensive transformation based on Islamic teachings to achieve sustainable forest management.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the implementation of illegal parking management policies in Jayapura City and its impact on Regional Original Revenue (PAD). The main problem lies in the increasing number of vehicles that are not balanced with the availability of parking facilities, thus triggering illegal parking practices and regional levy leakage. This study uses a descriptive qualitative approach with data collection techniques through interviews, observations, and documentation. The analysis was conducted using the perspective of George C. Edward III's policy implementation theory and Michael Lipsky's street-level bureaucracy concept. The results of the study show that policy implementation has not been optimal. From Edward III's perspective, weaknesses can be seen in ineffective communication aspects, limited resources, weak implementation dispositions, and bureaucratic structures that are not synergistic. Meanwhile, Lipsky's perspective shows that the high use of discretion by field officials is a mechanism for adapting to limitations, but it also causes inconsistencies, legal uncertainties, and potential injustices. In addition, the practice of prioritization, simplification of tasks, and a compromising approach in interactions with the community widens the gap between formal policies and practices in the field. Therefore, it is necessary to strengthen institutional capacity, improve coordination between agencies, and prepare clear operational guidelines to balance flexibility and standardization. Thus, policy implementation is expected to be more effective, accountable, and able to increase contributions to PAD.

Abstract

Communication plays a very important role in human life, including in the business world. In the context of modern business, communication is no longer one-way but has become a two-way process involving interaction, openness, and trust-building between companies and society. This study aims to understand and explain message delivery strategies in business communication to build corporate image. The method used is descriptive qualitative with a literature study approach, utilizing various sources such as scientific journals, books, and relevant articles. The results show that media and technology play an important role in supporting the effectiveness of business communication, both internally and externally. Media such as email, social media, virtual meetings, and digital platforms help deliver information quickly, widely, and efficiently. However, technological developments also carry risks, such as the spread of inaccurate information, making good digital literacy necessary. In addition, the role of Public Relations (PR) and corporate communication is very important in building and maintaining corporate image and reputation through open, consistent, and strategic communication. Communication strategies are also key in dealing with crises by selecting appropriate media, crafting clear messages, and determining the right target audience. Overall, well-planned communication strategies supported by proper use of media and technology can help companies build a positive image and maintain their reputation in the digital era.

Abstract

Interpersonal communication plays a crucial role in improving employee performance. Effective communication enables employees to clearly understand tasks, reduces misunderstandings, and increases motivation and work productivity. However, communication barriers in the workplace persist, such as a lack of openness and minimal feedback. Interpersonal communication has a positive and significant impact on employee performance because it creates a positive work climate, improves task understanding, reduces misunderstandings, builds trust, and encourages effective collaboration. Good communication quality, characterized by clarity of messages, openness, mutual respect, and feedback, enables employees to work more productively and motivated, ultimately contributing to improved overall performance. Studies indicate that up to 70% of workplace errors can be caused by poor communication between employees. These studies confirm that ineffective interpersonal communication can be a significant barrier to achieving organizational goals. The purpose of this study is to explore the direct impact of interpersonal communication on employee productivity and to provide practical guidance for management in improving communication dynamics in the workplace. The results demonstrate that interpersonal communication is a foundation for employee productivity, a crucial aspect for developing effective Human Resource Management strategies.

Abstract

Poverty in Jayapura Regency, one of the buffer areas of Papua Province’s capital region, is a key challenge in achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) Goal 1: No Poverty. This study aims to analyze the rate of change and dynamics of poverty in Jayapura Regency for the period 2017-2024 and project it to 2030 using a discrete calculus or finite-difference approach. The research method is quantitative descriptive with secondary data on the percentage of the poor population from the Central Statistics Agency (BPS). The analysis was conducted by calculating the first derivative (rate of change) and the second derivative (acceleration/deceleration) discretely. The results show that the poverty rate declined from from 13.01% (2017) to 11.60% (2024). However, derivative analysis reveals a significant deceleration phase in the 2022-2024 period, culminating in a a reversal to a positive rate of change (+0.15 percentage points) in 2024. This critical finding suggests that the post-pandemic momentum for poverty reduction has weakened and is beginning to reverse. Simple linear projections up to 2030 indicate that the SDG target for eliminating extreme poverty is at risk of being missed without significant policy acceleration. The differential calculus approach has proven effective as an early detection tool for detecting changes in momentum that are not always visible from static annual data.
