Abstract

Vocational high school (SMK) 2 Mei Bandar Lampung is a school which its student majority are male. Many students solved their problems with anger and violence. This research was conducted to find the factors for preventing student brawl at SMK 2 Mei Bandar Lampung. The study found that emotional intelligence, religious guidance, school environment, and peers are four effective factors that can prevent student brawl. Whereas family and community environmental factors do not play an effective role in preventing students' brawl. Peers are the most influential tool in preventing students' brawl with the highest percentage of up to 52.1%. This should be a concern for parents and related parties (such as teachers) to pay more attention to their children/students' peers.

Abstract

The discussion on teacher ethics has been the subject of discussion among Muslim scholars and scholars and has generated many insights including the views of the great scholars Sayyid Usman. He is a Muslim scholar who has done extensive research in Islamic Education. This paper attempts to address Sayyid Usman's perspective on teacher ethics. It is in his view that, personally, the teacher should be sincere, wara', zuhud, tawadhu', not 'say, no takabur, not riyâ', and not malicious. A teacher must master the material he teaches, know the requirements of knowledge, and even know where to find the knowledge he has, and practice it. So that a teacher can teach the knowledge he has to the learners with the aim of not only being good in the eyes of the religion but also good in the customs of his country. As a result, efforts to improve the quality of a teacher need to be constantly developed. Therefore, the rules of the Indonesian Teacher Ethics Code should be of concern for the creation of the best generation of the nation's successor.

Abstract

There is a significant relationship between modernization and religion in this modern and global era. In the Indonesian context, religion, teaching patterns and traditions, are preserved as a fundamental basis for morality to influence the flow of modernization. Indonesian society, in general, is divided into two modernist and traditional groups. This grouping occurs because of the historical perspective. The existence of Islam in Indonesia collides with various forms of local syncretism and also with Western civilization, especially in the period of colonialism and traditions of ancestors. As happened in the Javanese tribe, they still perform traditional ceremonies, as well as in other regions in Indonesia. This study reveals the role of Islamic education in enhancing the resilience of local culture in Indonesia to remain consistent despite being hit by currents of modernization and globalization.

Abstract

The low alumni of the Department of Islamic Broadcasting Communication (KPI) who have roles in accordance with their educational competence as preachers and religious instructors have the effect of lack of contribution in the development of Islamic da'wah, one of which is in Padangsidimpuan City. This affects the interest of the community and the future development of the KPI Department. This research was conducted to determine the driving and inhibiting factors of the role of KPI Department alumni in developing Islamic da'wah in Padangsidimpuan. This qualitative research uses a descriptive exploratory method in the form of field studies in the City of Padangsidimpuan. The results revealed that there was a role for alumni in the development of Islamic da'wah in Padangsidimpuan City as a preacher / religious preacher and religious instructor according to his competence. This role is driven by the mastery of propaganda material and good character, and the ability to socialize with the community. However, there are still weaknesses in mastering fiqh material and the lack of relationships in society.

Abstract

Getting a job is something that everyone really wants without exception for people with physical disabilities. In Metro, there are many people with physical disabilities who do not or have not gotten a job so they do anything to survive. This study was conducted to determine employment opportunities for people with physical disabilities based on the Law of the Republic of Indonesia Number 8 of 2016 article 53. Data in this study were obtained through observation and interview process to the heads of agencies and people with physical disabilities in Metro. Based on the results of the analysis of the data obtained, it can be concluded that the job opportunities for persons with physical Disabilities in Metro are still relatively low and the rights to obtain employment for persons with disabilities as stipulated in the Act are still not well realized.

Abstract

The involvement of women in politics in Indonesia, especially in the contestation of the Local Election (pilkada) has become an interesting conversation lately. On June 27, 2018, the democratic party elections for regional heads simultaneously in Lampung Province were quite satisfactory for women's leadership, which certainly gave a little hope in the midst of the lack of representation of women in Lampung's political arena. This field research that explains the political dynamics of women in the regional election contestation in Lampung from the perspective of obstacles and women's political strategies in the elections in Lampung. Based on the results of the study it can be concluded that the political dynamics of women in the Lampung elections are very closely related to the influence of figures, political communication and the mass base they have. Women who enter politics can defeat various stereotypes about women even though there are societies that give choices in the elections because of monetary rewards. Women's political strategy in the elections is to show the community that women are not inferior to men and convince the public with various programs that will be fought for when they get a position.

Abstract

Friday prayer is weekly compulsory for Muslims, especially adult males. It's held with various concatenations, one of them is a sermon. Friday sermon is one of the da'wah media that is strategic and effective enough to foster the people including to prevent the spread of religious radicalism in the midst of society. The implementation of Friday sermons has not been used properly and maximally by preachers as a way to prevent the spread of religious radicalism, but rather is ceremonial in order to abort obligations. Friday sermon strategies to prevent the spread of religious radicalism can be through three aspects, namely aspects of preaching, material, and methods of delivering sermons. These three aspects are interrelated and have defining characteristics and roles. This research uses a qualitative research approach (field research) with a focus on how the strategy of Friday sermon activities in an effort to prevent the spread of religious radicalism. Primary data sources used were preachers from various religious institutions or propaganda organizations in Metro City. These religious institutions such as the Ministry of Religion of the City of Metro, Nahdlatul Ulama Metro, Muhammadiyah Metro, the Indonesian Council of Islamic Da'wah (DDII) Metro and the Metro Council of the Mosque of Indonesia (DMI).

Abstract

This study reveals the interfaith social interaction in building the harmony potential of children in Metro City civil servant housing. Community Housing PNS is a multicultural society that has a variety of religions, races, ethnicities and languages. In the midst of these differences becoming a force for the community, they assume that it can be a learning medium for children to get to know each other which then can grow the potential for social harmony in children from an early age, the community realizes that the environment is part from the second study room after the family for children. In their social interaction through two stages ranging from social contact to communication with each other. This research is a descriptive qualitative research field, the civil servant housing community is a place of research so the research uses a phenomenological approach in this study where data collection is done by observation, interviews and documentation. The results showed that the practice of interfaith social interaction developed by the community had a positive impact on children, the birth of the potential for social harmony in the souls of children in the environment.

Abstract

The Decision-Making Process in society is said to be Democratic if its implementation passing mechanisms that involve the community in its formulation intensively and can reflect the demands and desires of the community without ignoring their rights. However, the act of determining an individualism decision is a hallmark of undemocratic patrimonial bureaucracy. This must be considered by every leader, including in Kampung Nambah Dadi in accordance with realizing checks and balances based on the Principles of Democracy. Therefore, this study was conducted to determine the Democracy principle of Decision Making in Kampung Nambah Dadi Terbanggi Besar District, Central Lampung Regency. Based on the results of a qualitative descriptive analysis revealed that there is a decision-making process according to equal rights principles, by holding the meetings with society and Village Consultation Council (BPK). However, BPK's ability as supervision in Nambah Dadi has not been in line with expectations. This condition is caused by the headman domination power effect.

Abstract

This paper discusses the result of research related to problem-based learning models. The findings of this study are related to the efforts of improving students' social sensitivity. One of the goals of education is to make the output in this case students become successful people both academically and non-academically and have positive moral values in society. To achieve maximum learning outcomes, an educator can use the problem-based learning model. This problem-based learning model is a learning model that links students with the real world so that they are more sensitive to their social environment. These problems make students think critically to be able to solve the puzzle and can be implemented in their social space.
