Abstract

This study aims to explore the human resource management (HRM) strategies implemented by educational institutions in Manila to mitigate teacher burnout amidst the pressures of urban environments and digital transformation. This research employed a qualitative approach with an explanatory case study design. Data was gathered through in-depth interviews with HRM managers and teachers at three private secondary schools in Metro Manila, complemented by an analysis of internal policy documents. Data analysis was conducted inductively using data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing techniques. The research findings revealed three primaries effective HRM strategies: (1) structural support through administrative offloading and hybrid work flexibility, (2) technostress mitigation via digital wellness programs and digital communication ethics, and (3) strengthening organizational culture based on transformational leadership and spiritual values (Animo). These strategies have proven effective in enhancing teacher resilience and reducing emotional exhaustion. Human-centric HRM is the key to sustaining educational quality in urban areas. The implications of this study suggest the need for standardizing educator mental health policies within formal school regulations.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the influence of emotional intelligence and work climate on the performance of public junior high school teachers in Balaraja District, Tangerang Regency. Utilizing a quantitative causal research design, this study involved 40 civil servant teachers as respondents selected through simple random sampling techniques. Data were collected using closed-ended questionnaires that had been tested for validity and reliability. The results of multiple regression analysis showed that emotional intelligence has a positive and significant effect on teacher performance (p = 0.010). Similarly, work climate was proven to have a highly significant effect on teacher performance (p = 0.000). Simultaneously, these two variables contributed 54.9% to the variation in teacher performance (F{count} = 28.622). These findings indicate that improving individual emotional maturity and creating a conducive work environment are key factors in optimizing educator professionalism. It is recommended that school administrators provide regular emotional intelligence training and organize the organizational climate to maintain teacher performance stability.

Abstract

This study examines the integration of Buddhist philosophy and mindfulness practices in the primary school curriculum in Thailand, a nation where Buddhism profoundly shapes the cultural and educational landscape. The purpose of this research is to explore how the "Buddhist-Oriented Schools" program is implemented, and to understand stakeholder perceptions and the impact of these practices on students. Using a qualitative case study design in two primary schools in Chiang Mai, data were collected through participant observation, semi-structured interviews, and document analysis. The findings indicate that mindfulness practices, such as short meditations and mindful pauses, have been successfully integrated into classroom routines to improve student focus and emotional regulation. This implementation is explicitly based on Buddhist philosophy (Trisikkha) but is delivered in accessible, universal language. The success of the program is highly dependent on the teacher's role as the primary facilitator, although challenges such as a lack of advanced training and resources remain obstacles. In conclusion, this Thai educational model offers a valuable example of an authentic cultural adaptation of mindfulness practices, effectively enhancing student well-being while remaining rooted in local wisdom.

Abstract

This comparative study examines the transformation of religious education in the digital era, focusing on implementation differences between Indonesia and Malaysia. Both countries have integrated digital technologies into Islamic education, yet face distinct challenges and policy approaches. In Indonesia, the adoption of online platforms and social media for religious instruction is growing, but limited infrastructure and unequal internet access hinder effectiveness, especially in rural areas. Malaysia, by contrast, has implemented more structured strategies through government-backed initiatives like DidikTV KPM and nationwide digital learning platforms, enhancing accessibility and teacher readiness. The findings highlight the crucial role of policy support, infrastructure readiness, and teacher training in optimizing digital religious education. This study contributes to the theoretical discourse on digital transformation in education and offers practical insights for policymakers seeking to enhance equitable and effective religious instruction in the 21st century.

Abstract

This paper discusses the government's policy on Higher Education, which is related to the Free Learning-Free Campus policy issued by the Ministry of Education and Culture under the chairmanship of Minister Nadim Makarim. This policy contains four main policies, namely facilitating the opening of new study programs, changing the higher education accreditation system, facilitating universities to become legal entities, and the right to study three semesters outside the study program. Although these policies substantially aim to improve the quality of education in Indonesia, on the other hand, it inevitably creates pros and cons. Some are optimistic but some are pessimistic.

Abstract

In the context of the Fourth Industrial Revolution (4IR), enhancing the linkage between industry and the Vocational Education and Training (VET) system is a strategic imperative for Vietnam. This study aims to deeply analyze the dynamics, challenges, and success factors of these industry-school partnerships. Employing a sequential explanatory mixed-methods design, the research first conducted a quantitative survey among leaders of VET institutions and companies, which was then followed by in-depth qualitative interviews with key stakeholders to explore the statistical findings. The results reveal a significant paradox: while there is universal agreement on the importance of collaboration, current practices are predominantly superficial (e.g., guest lectures) rather than substantive (e.g., joint curriculum development). The study identifies a systemic 'trust deficit' and a 'cultural gulf' as the core barriers, rather than a mere lack of willingness. Notably, the Information Technology (IT) sector emerges as an important exception, driven by necessity to form deeper, more agile partnerships. The study concludes that effective policy should shift from simply encouraging "more collaboration" to strategically building trust and fostering an ecosystem conducive to deep partnerships, in which intermediary entities play a crucial role as "trust brokers".
