Abstract

This study starts from the fact that Western educational paradigms range from pragmatic and positivistic tendencies to critical pedagogy, while Islamic education emphasizes education as the cultivation of adab (ta’dib) and responds to secularism through Islamization of knowledge and integration–interconnection models. The study aims to compare both paradigms through ontology, epistemology, and axiology, and to formulate “knowledge integration” as a coherent linkage among educational goals, methods, and evaluation. Using a qualitative library-research design and a comparative–philosophical approach, the analysis applies qualitative content analysis and layered comparison to map OEA propositions and their interrelations. The findings indicate ontological divergence regarding the scope of reality (empirical vs tawhid-based holism), epistemological divergence in sources and validity of knowledge (empirical–rational verification vs ta’dib, Islamization, and bayani–burhani–irfani), and axiological divergence in value orientation (functionality/emancipation vs the formation of an ethical, civilized person). The proposed integration is not mere content combination, but a paradigm reconstruction where values guide knowledge selection and justification.

Abstract

Studies on idealism, realism, pragmatism, and existentialism in education often remain descriptive, leaving their implications for managing learning in Islamic educational institutions insufficiently operational and difficult to evaluate. This study aims to (1) analyze the epistemological and pedagogical characteristics of the four philosophical streams, (2) examine their implications for learning management functions—planning, organizing, leading, and controlling—and (3) formulate an applicable integrative framework from the perspective of Islamic education management. The method is qualitative library research using a critical-comparative review, employing concept reduction, thematic categorization, and argumentative synthesis. The findings propose an alignment matrix of goals–process–assessment–school culture: idealism strengthens value orientation, realism emphasizes evidence and measurability, pragmatism structures meaningful learning experiences, and existentialism safeguards learners’ agency and responsibility within ethical boundaries.

Abstract

This study examines the science of Qira’at, the variations in Qur’anic recitation. The author is interested in revisiting the authenticity of qira’at. The uncertainty and controversy surrounding the authenticity of qira’at, whether presented by Western or Muslim scholars, make this topic even more compelling to study in depth using the framework of Michel Foucault's theory of power relations, which itself originates from the West. This study aims to fill the knowledge gap by exploring the history of standardization and canonization of qira’at carried out by Ibn Mujahid in establishing seven imams as authorities in the canonization of the seven canonical qira’at. Consequently, it formulates several questions, namely why Ibn Mujahid standardized Qira’at in his book As-Sab’ah; what indicators Ibn Mujahid used to evaluate qira’at; and what political context underlies the canonization of qira’at by Ibn Mujahid. The results of this study indicate that the success of the codification and canonization of qira’at by Ibn Mujahid was not only due to the factor of unifying the views of Muslims regarding the different variants of Qur’anic readings, but was also influenced by the political factors underlying the process. These findings provide new insights into understanding the dynamics of the history of Qur’anic qira’at and the importance of considering the political context in understanding religious traditions.

Abstract

The principle of trust contained in Q.S An-Nisa verse 58 is a direct command from Allah SWT that must always be upheld. Trust is not only about safeguarding the wealth that has been given, but also includes justice in establishing Allah SWT's law among humans. This study aims to examine the relevance of Q.S An-Nisa verse 58 in relation to public administration from the perspective of Islamic education. The research method used to obtain concrete results in this study was library research. Data sources were obtained from libraries, such as books, journals, databases, and other relevant information. The results of the study show that public administration has a strong relevance to Q.S. An-Nisa verse 58 in Islamic education. This verse emphasizes the principles of trustworthiness and justice as the ethical foundation of government administration and public service. In Islamic education, these values play an important role in shaping the character of state officials to be honest, accountable, and responsible. The integration of the values of Q.S. An-Nisa verse 58 in Islamic education, such as honesty, justice, trustworthiness, and responsibility, serves as a guideline for strengthening ethical governance and instilling awareness that public office is a trust that will one day be accounted for before Allah SWT.

Abstract

In the digital era, teachers are required to present innovative learning media, yet they are often constrained by time limitations and technical design skills. This study aims to analyze the implementation of the TPACK model in the collaboration between teachers and Canva Creators at Studio Kreasi Cantik, Magelang, as a solution for developing effective learning media. This research employs a qualitative case study approach. Data were collected through observations of the collaboration process and the utilization of secondary data from the designer performance monitoring information system to measure the effectiveness of media production. The results indicate that the collaboration operates systematically through the integration of three TPACK components: (1) Technological Knowledge is reflected in the creators' mastery of the Canva platform, supported by a quality monitoring system; (2) Pedagogical Knowledge is implemented through the adaptation of designs to teachers' instructional strategies; and (3) Content Knowledge is maintained through a validation process of religious material accuracy by the teachers. The high utility of the studio’s digital assets (over 15,000 followers) proves that this collaboration model provides significant value to educators. Finally, The synergy between technology practitioners and teachers is capable of creating a modern learning ecosystem without compromising the quality of the material substance.

Abstract

Rabu Abeh is an Acehnese cultural tradition that has historically undergone continuous transformation, beginning with ancestral beliefs, later intersecting with Islamic teachings, and eventually encountering modern societal influences. This study examines the Rabu Abeh ritual as practiced by communities in Aceh Province, where it functions as a tolak bala ritual intended to protect society from misfortune and disaster. The ritual is performed annually according to the Islamic calendar, specifically on the last Wednesday of the month of Safar. Its traditional forms include the offering of symbolic offerings and the recitation of verses from the Holy Qur’an; however, in recent developments, the ritual has gradually shifted into a social and recreational occasion shared with family members. This study employs a qualitative research method with library research as its primary data source and is framed within a sociological approach using Peter L. Berger’s theory of the social construction of reality. The findings reveal the stages of the ritual process and its relationship to social construction. Referring to Berger’s perspective, society is a human product, and humans are, in turn, products of society. This reciprocal relationship operates through three dialectical processes within social construction: externalization, objectivation, and internalization.

Abstract

Child marriage remains a social problem with multidimensional impacts, particularly on women. This study aims to analyze the factors driving child marriage, its impact on women's education, health, psychology, and social relations, and examine it from the perspective of maqāṣid al-syarī‘ah. The study used a qualitative approach with empirical juridical in Magelang Regency. Data were obtained through in-depth interviews, questionnaires, observations, and documentation of 28 women who married under the age of 19 and their 28 parents. The results show that family economic factors, parental pressure, socio-cultural norms, and premarital pregnancy are the main drivers of child marriage. The resulting impacts include the interruption of formal education, economic dependence, vulnerability to violence, and health and psychological problems. From the perspective of maqāṣid al-syarī‘ah, the practice of child marriage contradicts the principle of protecting life, mind, offspring, and human dignity. This study emphasizes the importance of a comprehensive approach based on law, social, and religion in efforts to prevent child marriage.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the influence of transformational leadership on the quality of Madrasah Ibtidaiyah under the auspices of LP Ma’arif NU Pekalongan Regency, with educator motivation and spirituality as mediating variables. The research method used is quantitative with a Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) approach based on Partial Least Squares (PLS) involving 160 respondents. Data were collected through structured questionnaires and processed using SmartPLS.The results indicate that transformational leadership, motivation, and educator spirituality have positive and significant effects on madrasah quality. Key findings reveal that transformational leadership has a dominant impact on spirituality (β = 0.748) and educator motivation (β = 0.675). Furthermore, mediation test results prove that spirituality (β  = 0.287) is a stronger mediating pathway compared to motivation (β = 0.249) in linking leadership to quality. The coefficient of determination (R2) of 0.724 indicates that this model can explain 72.4% of the variance in madrasah quality. This study concludes that transformational leadership that addresses transcendental aspects (spirituality) is the most effective strategy for boosting educational quality within the madrasah environment.

Abstract

Contemporary Islamic discourse often frames tree planting as a form of ongoing charity, yet many discussions remain at the level of moral exhortation and do not translate prophetic evidence and environmental jurisprudence into an operational framework for community-based greening programs. This study aims to (1) examine authentic hadith foundations that conceptualize tree planting as sadaqah and a form of social worship through continuous benefits for living beings, (2) analyze how Islamic environmental jurisprudence (fiqh al-bī’ah) constructs principles of public benefit (maṣlaḥah) and harm prevention (mafsadah) in environmental stewardship, and (3) formulate an integrated analytical framework for community-oriented greening programs. The research employs a qualitative library-research design with normative analysis, using thematic hadith materials as primary data and fiqh al-bī’ah, maqāṣid al-sharī‘ah, and contemporary studies on community greening as secondary sources. The findings indicate that hadith provides strong religious legitimacy by linking reward to sustained ecological benefits enjoyed by humans and other creatures, while fiqh al-bī’ah offers evaluative norms to ensure programs maximize maṣlaḥah and minimize harm. Integration yields operational indicators: citizen participation, post-planting maintenance, and equitable distribution of socio-ecological benefits.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the impact of the creative economy ecosystem through digital platforms on the empowerment of halal street food micro-enterprises in Medan. Using a descriptive qualitative method, data were collected through in-depth interviews with 5 informants who are micro-culinary entrepreneurs. The results show that digital platform integration provides a transformative impact in the form of massive market expansion to suburban areas without requiring physical expansion, as well as creating business resilience that maintains turnover stability against weather disruptions. Managerially, digital platforms serve as a source of financial management education; access to sales history allows entrepreneurs to predict demand fluctuations, effectively minimizing losses due to food waste and optimizing working capital. Finally, the digital ecosystem accelerates product standardization through value creation demands on visual aspects and quality, as well as driving the acceleration of halal certification as a primary instrument for building credibility and digital trust. These findings conclude that digital platforms are not merely sales channels, but an empowerment infrastructure that enhances professionalism and sustainability for micro-enterprises within the creative economy ecosystem.
