Beginning from Vol. 1 No. 1 (2017), all articles will be published in the English version and Indonesia version. The publication frequency is twice a year in March and October. Abstract

This study aims to find out how to compare the application of education in Indonesia with education in Finland. Education in Indonesia is very far behind compared to education in other countries. Finland as one of the countries with the best education system has become a reference for the implementation of education in countries in the world. In contrast to Indonesia, the comparison of education looks very much different. The research method used is a literature review, where data is collected from various sources such as journals or books that have been analyzed based on existing problems. There are several differences regarding education between the two countries, namely, 1) Indonesian education is more widely used for competency events, whereas Finland prioritizes the principle of equality, 2) there is a class-resident system for students whose abilities are below average and student rankings, Finland does not use a system like this, 3) Indonesia has a weekly study load of +/- 40 hours, Finland studies +/- 30 hours per week, 4) in Indonesia, learning is mostly done in classrooms, while Finland uses problem-solving methods, 5) assignments will always be there every time they meet face to face for students in Indonesia but not for Finland, this country does not burden students to do the task. Abstract

Reading comprehension simply understanding what has been read. There are many strategies that can be applied by the teacher to maximize their role in the classroom, but most of them did not try to find a variety of methods. One of the methods that can be used is Cooperative Integrated Reading and Composition (CIRC). Cooperative Integrated Reading and Composition (CIRC) is a method that students work together to accomplish shared goals. They work together to maximize their own and each other’s learning. In cooperative groups, students work together on specific tasks or projects in such a way that all students in the group benefit from the interactive experience. Since learners are different in their intellectual capacity, their attitude, and their linguistic methods. Furthermore, cooperative learning is a great way to engage English language learners in learning both language and content. This research will be quasi-experiment research. In this research, pre-test and post-test will be administered. To obtain the data, the researcher will use a reading comprehension test and questionnaire. This research will focus on how Cooperative Integrated Reading and Composition (CIRC) enhance reading comprehension. Therefore, the researcher decides to give the title of this research namely “Enhancing Students’ Reading Comprehension by Using CIRC”. The Output target of this research is “published in the national scientific non-accredited journal, 1st-yearsst year target: Accepted/Published”. Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of learning media business simulation educational game "Trade War" on students' interest and understanding of business at SD Kristen Rehoboth Elementary School. Schools generally only use learning media in the form of books and teacher explanations which only aim to ensure students pass the written test so that student motivation and learning outcomes are low because they are just memorizing without understanding the material, while the business subject itself is difficult to understand only through books. Business simulation educational games allow students to interact directly with the business environment and understand the subject matter to be able to apply it in the real world. This study uses research and development methods with the ADDIE model which consists of five stages, namely analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation. Research data was collected by distributing validation questionnaire sheets to four validators to give validation values on material aspects and media aspects and distributing response questionnaires to 30 students to assess the validity of aspects of the benefits of learning media on students' business interests and understanding. The results of the study show that the learning media for the business simulation educational game "Trade Wars" for fourth grade elementary school students is quite valid from the aspects of material, media, and benefits for students.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the PAI Learning Model in Shaping the Character of SD 9 Meurah Mulia Students. The method used is a qualitative method with a descriptive approach. The study subjects included the principal, PAI teachers, and several students. The results of this study describe. Islamic Religious Education Learning Model in Shaping student character using tazkirah, encouragement, repetition, and reminding models. Make a match, a learning model such as discovery (Inquiry) in knowing the evidence of the power of Allah SWT as the teaching material is understanding the meaning in Asmaul husna, presenting angels in his daily life. For moral learning, a role-playing learning model can be used. A learning model (NHT) can be used to learn the history of Islamic culture. Then the Islamic values taught to students in forming a noble character are Islamic values combined with morals, which is essential because it is one of the school's goals. Applying Islamic values in shaping students' personalities, reading and eating asmaul husna is carried out every morning before entering class, which is accompanied by all students and educators. The obstacles faced in implementing Islamic values in shaping student character are the involvement of student guardians who do not pay attention, family, social environment, economic conditions, and exit environment.

Abstract

Guna menyeimbangkan pengetahuan santri tentang dunia dan akhirat, pesantren merupakan lembaga atau wadah yang sangat cocok untuk menanamkan jiwa kewirausahaan yang bernuansa Islami, khususnya pengajaran melalui ayat-ayat Alquran yang menjelaskan bagaimana menjadi pengusaha sesuai syariat. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mendeskripsikan manajemen pengembangan sumber daya manusia mahasiswa di bidang kewirausahaan dengan menggunakan penelitian kualitatif deskriptif. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mempelajari lebih lanjut tentang praktik manajemen dan pelatihan kewirausahaan yang digunakan oleh pesantren, serta peran, program, dan metodologi. Pesantren sudah mengoperasikan sejumlah entitas komersial, seperti minimarket Nuurusshidiiq, restoran, pusat bisnis Nuurusshidiiq, fotokopi. Pondok Pesantren Nuurusshidiiq perlu lebih mengoptimalkan pengelolaan dalam rangka meningkatkan sumber daya manusia santrinya di bidang kewirausahaan guna memajukan temuan penelitian ini.

Abstract

Fossil energy still plays as the main energy source in daily activities. The government of the Republic of Indonesia set a target to reach 1 million BOPD and 12 BSCFD in the year 2030 as part of strategic plan 4.0 which very challenging target for the oil and gas player in Indonesia. 55% of the total workforce in the upstream oil and gas in Indonesia are Gen Y and they intend to quit their job if there is any uncomfortable things happened (Arora & Dhole, 2019). This will be a challenge for HR management to retain talent in the upstream oil and gas industry. The questionnaire, designed as a self-reported survey, was distributed to employees of the Oil and Gas Industry. Data processing uses SEM Methodology. It tests 300 respondence by using a data questionnaire. It test 300 respondence by using a data questionnaire and Lisrel 8.8 was used to analyze the data. The finding proposes the positive effect between Job Characteristics, Job Satisfaction, Employee Engagement, and Job Performance. The positive effect was also found on Employee Engagement as the mediator amid Job Characteristics, Job Satisfaction, and Job Performance. This paper will provide reference and practical benefits for Human Management to support the achievement of oil & gas strategic plan 4.0 in 2023.

Abstract

Looking at historical facts about the lack of freedom of thought that was created in the implementation of national education during pre- and post-colonialism, it provoked K.H. Ahmad Dahlan to participate in raising awareness of critical thinking for the nation's children. Even though the context of the problems and challenges are relatively different, efforts to resolve and find solutions have the same substance and are relevant today, namely how to create a free and independent education climate is a good effort. The aim of this study is to analyze KH Ahmad Dahlan's perspective in constructing Islamic education so that it is able to foster an awareness of the Indonesian people to think critically through the awareness paradigm of Paulo Freire's conscientization. This research is included in the type of library research using qualitative methods. The approach used in this study is to take a historical-philosophical approach. The result is that the construction of Islamic education in the perspective of K.H. Ahmad Dahlan who offers the concept of modern education and women's independence is one step forward towards awareness of thinking and the development of critical thinking in society, and has reached the stage of critical awareness as revealed by Freire

Abstract

Abstract The importance of school principal transformational leadership and its influence on teacher performance to improve student achievement attracted researchers to investigate it and this article discusses the results of a literature review conducted by the author. There are several articles reviewing the influence of school principals' transformational leadership on teacher performance to improve student achievement, especially in world contexts that can be found. The purpose of this review is to determine the influence of the transformational leadership of school principals on teacher performance to improve student achievement in the world context. Based on the results of a review of literature from various countries in the world, the authors found that the majority of school principal transformational leadership had a positive and significant influence on teacher performance for student achievement. Abstract

21st century education is expected to produce human resources who have critical, creative, communicative, and collaborative thinking skills. The education system in Indonesia must be able to adapt to equip students with the required competencies. One of the right steps taken to support the mastery of 21st century skills is to apply the Ethnopedagogy learning framework with the cultural character model of the Betawi Ethnic Door Cross Tradition. The purpose of the research in this article is twofold. 1. Examining the concept of Ethnopedagogy framework and learning model of Betawi Ethnic Door Cross Culture 2. Describe the application of 21st century learning through the framework of Ethnopedagogy with the Betawi Ethnic Door Cross Cultural model. The research method used is qualitative method. Data collection techniques use observation, documentation, and interviews. The results of the research in this article are the application of 21st century learning through the framework of the Betawi Ethnic Door Cross Culture with the method of reciprocating rhymes, the application of reciprocating rhymes in learning based on local wisdom in the Sharia Economics Study Program of STAI Shalahudin Al Ayuubi Jakarta is used as one of the alternative learning in the 21st century recommended in the material of oral pantun as an effort to introduce and preserve the nation's culture. This is because students are more motivated in participating in learning activities and are actively involved in planning, preparing rhyme card media, and implementing reciprocating rhyme activities.
