Abstract

The objective of this study to describe whether the Project-based learning method can improve students’ reading comprehension at VIII F grade of SMPN 43 Surabaya. The research design uses the Classroom Action Research (CAR) method. The time was arranged from May to September 2022. There were 39 students in the class. The class consisted 20 boys and 19 girls. The student’s score indicated the result of implementation. The students’ score increase. The Project-based learning method improved the students’ achievement in reading notice text significantly and helped the students become active and creative in learning. The Planning, Acting, Observing, and Reflecting of teaching-learning use of Project-based learning were successfully conducted. It can be shown that researchers can make a lesson plan and apply PJBL as a method in teaching reading Notice text. The teacher can combine Project-based learning with another method if conditionally to make students don’t bored while receiving the materials.

Abstract

This paper aims at finding out whether or not Problem Based Learning (PBL) can improve students’ listening ability. This research was experimental research, which aims to find out the effect of using Problem Based Learning (PBL) model for improving students’ listening ability. The population of this research were the sixth semester students of Indonesian Academy of Secertary and Management Indonesia (ASMI) Citra Nusantara Banjarmasin. Sample are students mayoring Financial management 1 as experimental group and students mayoring Financial Management 2 as control group. It is obtained by using purposive sampling. Experimental group was taught by using Problem Based Learning (PBL) Model consist of 22 students. While control group was taught by using conventional model consist of 23 students. The instrument of this research was TOEIC Listening Comprehension Test. Problem Based Learning (PBL) model was more effective to improve students’ listening ability at Indonesian Academy of Secertary and Management Indonesia (ASMI) Citra Nusantara Banjarmasin than conventional model. It was indicated by the result of independent sample t-test, it was found the sig. (2 tailed) value was 0.000 < 0.05. It meant that, H0 was rejected, and Ha was accepted. Furthermore, it can be interpreted that there was significance difference on students’ listening ability between experimental group and the control group. In group statistics table said that the mean of experimental group was 275.91. It was higher than the mean of control group 194.57. It could be stated that Problem Based Learning (PBL) model in teaching listening could improve the students' listening ability better than the conventional model.

Abstract

This study aimed to determine the teachers' performance in improving student learning outcomes at SDN 75 Bentang and the inhibiting and supporting factors to improve the teachers' performance. This research method used a qualitative descriptive approach, meaning that the data collected was based on the actual conditions. The aim was to find real data directly with actual conditions. The results obtained from this study indicated that the description of teachers' performance was seen from a) educating, b) teaching, c) training, d) guiding, e) assessing and evaluating, and schools in improving the performance of educators, namely by making several efforts so that the goal of the achievement was successful. Such as by making efforts to establish good relationships with other educators and providing facilities and infrastructure based on the needs of educators. Evaluating and supervising the performance of educators directly, namely before and after carrying out the teaching and learning process. However, there were still several inhibiting and supporting factors. The inhibiting factor was the number of teachers with civil servant status was insufficient. Because some of the teachers were relatives, some tasks were managed properly between school assignments and outside of the school. The supporting factors in improving teachers' performance at SD Negeri 75 Bentang were the high sense of togetherness and kinship that existed in the school environment, the high willingness to learn from the educators and the high commitment of the principal to improving the performance of teachers at SD Negeri 75 Bentang.

Abstract

This study aimed to determine the influence of interest and independence in learning on students' learning achievement in social studies topic of class V SDN 33 Boddie. This research was quantitative. This study involved a sample of 25 students in class V. This data analysis technique deployed a questionnaire or a closed questionnaire, which the researcher made to the respondents. Furthermore, the data was analyzed using SPSS v.22 by looking for the description results, regression analysis requirements test, linearity test, multicollinearity test, and hypothesis test.The study results were based on hypothesis testing where the value of Sig was.0.015 <0.05 and the T-count was2.467> 2.064. And there was an effect of learning independence on learning achievement, which can be seen in the hypothesis test 0.015 < 0.05, and the T-count value was 3.568 > 2.064. This study found the results were very influential on students' learning interests on learning achievement because, with the student's interests, their learning achievement increased as well. Students with a high level of independence had a better chance of achieving better learning. On the other hand, students with a low level of independence got a smaller chance of achieving learning achievement. The higher the independence of students, the higher their learning achievement.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of Cake application on English learning outcomes of class X SMKS Muhammadiyah Sidrap. This research was conducted at SMKS Muhammadiyah Sidrap in July 2021. This research is a quantitative study using the True Experimental Design method. The population in this study were students of class X SMKS Muhammadiyah Sidrap. The class was divided into 2 groups, namely the control group with 14 students and the experimental group with 15 students. Each research group uses a different learning method. The control group learns using the lecture method, while the experimental group learns using the Cake application. Data collection techniques in this study were in the form of multiple choice tests. The data analysis technique is in the form of t-test. The result of this study is that the experimental group is larger than the control group, so it can be concluded that H0 is rejected and Ha is accepted.

Abstract

The research was motivated by the findings of a deaf student at SLB Negeri Batubara who achieved achievements in pantomime art. Students' skills in performing pantomime movements are a long process until they can achieve achievements at the national level. This study aims to reveal what factors influence students to be able to achieve achievement, the obstacles faced and the solutions made to overcome them. The research method uses a case study with a qualitative approach. Sources of data consisted of outstanding deaf students, teacher trainers, parents and the head of the SLB Negeri Batubara. Collecting data using interview, observation, and documentation techniques. Data collection tools using interview guidelines, observation and document checklists. Data analysis using qualitative data analysis techniques Miles and Huberman. The results of the research obtained are achievements in the pantomime field from 2019 to 2021 at the Provincial and National levels. Internal factors that support students to excel come from interest in practicing and good physical condition. Meanwhile, external factors are supported by various parties, starting from teacher trainers, schools and parents. There are no significant obstacles faced by Mutia in achieving achievements. Abstract

The influence of the level of linguistic intelligence and reading interest on the narrative writing skills of fifth-grade students. This study uses a quantitative explanation with an ex post facto research model with a total sample of 40 students. The results of this study indicate that: (1) The level of linguistic intelligence obtained an average score of 87.38, and the distribution of scores of 40 students (100%) was in the medium category. (2) Students' reading interest obtained an average score of 89.93, and the distribution of scores, as many as 38 students (95%) were in the very good category, and two students (5%) were in a good category. (3) The average score of students' narrative writing skills was 35 students (87.5%) in the very good category, while five students (12.5%) were in the good category. (4) There is no significant effect of the level of linguistic intelligence on students' narrative writing skills. (5) There is a direct influence between reading interest on students' narrative writing skills. (6) There is a positive and significant influence between the level of linguistic intelligence and reading interest on students' narrative writing skills.

Abstract

This study aimed to determine the strategy in implementing the Adiwiyata program in shaping students' creativity and caring attitude towards the school environment as well as supporting factors and inhibiting factors during the implementation of this program in the school. This research employed a descriptive qualitative design. Data were collected through interviews, observation, and documentation. This study used data analysis techniques with the stages of data collection, data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion. The result showed that the implementation of the Adiwiyata program in shaping students' creativity was carried out by aligning the school's vision and mission with Adiwiyata program indicators which were manifested in the habit of bringing food/drinks from home, sorting wastes according to the type of waste and green hose processing. Students' caring attitude towards the environment was formed through the implementation of the Adiwiyata program with environment-based habituation activities such as maintaining the cleanliness of the classroom and school environment, Saturday clean activities, garbage disposal in its place, implementing the LISA program (Lihat Sampah Ambil) and one pot plant one student program. The supporting factors in implementing the Adiwiyata program included the integration with the school's vision and mission, strategic school location, adequate supporting facilities and infrastructure, and collaboration with all teachers and the Adiwiyata team. While the inhibiting factors of the Adiwiyata program were the school environment which often flooded during the rainy season, lack of communication with outsiders, and the limited allocation of funds for Adiwiyata activities.

Abstract

Penelitian ini menjelaskan tentang aktivitas smatren ramadhan dalam menumbuhkan pendidikan karakter peserta didik. Metode yang digunakan pada penelitian ini adalah analisis deskriptif kualitatif di SMKN 1 Cikalongkulon, sedangkan teknik pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui wawancara, dan observasi. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa dalam rangka meningkatkan mutu pendidikan Agama Islam pada sekolah umum telah melaksanakan berbagai program. Program tersebut berupa kegiatan kurikuler maupun ekstrakurikuler, kegiatan ekstrakurikuler peringatan hari besar Islam, pesantren kilat dan kegiatan keIslaman lainnya. Pesantren kilat (Sanlat) diselenggarakan setiap bulan suci Ramadhan tiba. Hal ini diwujudkan untuk membimbing peserta didik agar memiliki wawasan ilmu agama Islam yang luas, berakhlak mulia dan pada akhirnya diharapkan agar mereka menjadi anak-anak yang shaleh dan shalehah. Kegiatan smartren ini diharapkan siswa dapat : 1) Meningkatkan pemahaman, penghayatan, dan pengamalan peserta didik terhadap ajaran Islam sehingga menjadi muslim yang beriman dan bertaqwa kepada Allah Swt, 2) Mengamalkan ajaran Islam dalam kehidupan sehari-hari, 3) Meningkatkan akhlakul karimah peserta didik dalam hubungan nya dengan Allah Swt, dengan orang tua, sesama manusia lainnya, dan dengan lingkungan hidup yang lainnya, dan 4) Termotivasi untuk membaca Al-Qur’an, memahami, dan memfungsikan nilai-nilai Al-qur’an.

Abstract

Penelitian ini membahas terkait dengan upaya peningkatan keterampilan menulis siswa dalam meneladani kehidupan dari cerita pendek melalui penugasan di aplikasi LMS. Metode yang digunakan pada penelitian ini adalah analisis deskriptif kualitatif, sedangkan teknik pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui wawancara, dan observasi. Dari hasil pengolahan data maka diperoleh kesimpulan bahwa kualitas pembelajaran menulis teladan kehidupan dalam cerita pendek dapat meningkat melalui penugasan di aplikasi LMS. Pada saat dilaksanakan pembelajaran menulis teladan kehidupan dalam cerita pendek melalui penugasan di aplikasi LMS ini menunjukkan adanya perubahan sikap yang positif terhadap proses pembelajaran menulis teladan kehidupan dalam cerita pendek. Melalui penugasan di aplikasi LMS para siswa mulai di mudahkan dalam menemukan ide dan mengembangkannya menjadi teks cerita pendek. Pembelajaran melalui penugasan di aplikasi LMS dapat meningkatkan keterampilan menulis siswa dalam meneladani kehidupan dari cerita pendek. Peningkatan keterampilan menulis siswa dalam meneladani kehidupan dari cerita pendek dapat dilihat dari peningkatan nilai rata-rata menulis teladan kehidupan dalam cerita pendek siswa antara tahap pasca tindakan dengan pratindakan.
