Abstract

This study aims to analyze the influence of company image, perception of ease of use, and perception of usability on the behavioral intentions of Generation Z in using online sharia savings services through Maybank Indonesia's M2U ID application. The background of this research is based on the low adoption rate of Islamic banking services in Indonesia, although the younger generation, especially Generation Z, shows a high level of digital literacy and technology use. This study uses a quantitative approach with an explanatory method. Data was collected from 139 respondents who were residents of South Jakarta aged 18–25 years old through purposive sampling techniques. The research instrument was a closed-ended questionnaire with a five-point Likert scale, which included four main constructs: company image, perception of ease of use, perception of usability, and behavioral intent. Data analysis was carried out using multiple linear regression to test the relationships between variables. The results of the study show that the company's image and the perception of ease of use have a positive and significant influence on the behavioral intention of opening an online sharia savings account. On the contrary, the perception of usefulness actually shows a significant negative influence on behavioral intent. These findings indicate that although functional features are important, symbolic factors and value perception are more dominant in shaping digital sharia service adoption decisions. The implications of this study suggest that Islamic financial institutions need to emphasize on building a strong brand image and creating an easy and intuitive user experience. In addition, it is important to reinforce religious and ethical values in marketing communication and product development. The study also highlights that the alignment between sharia values and digital-native consumer preferences can be key in increasing the market penetration of Islamic financial services.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the community empowerment strategy in the development of Limbasari Tourism Village and identify the supporting and inhibiting factors that influence the process. This study uses a qualitative descriptive approach, with data collection techniques including direct field observation, in-depth interviews with various stakeholders, and documentation of various sources and related activities. The results show that the community empowerment strategy implemented in the development of Limbasari Tourism Village consists of five main stages. The first stage is human resource development through training, education, and capacity building of local communities so that they can play an active role in tourism activities. The second stage is institutional development, which is carried out by strengthening the role of village organizations and forming tourism awareness groups. The third stage includes community investment, both through independent funding and support from external parties. The fourth stage is the development of productive businesses based on local potential, such as handicrafts, village culinary specialties, and tourism services. The final stage is the provision of appropriate information aimed at increasing community access to knowledge and opportunities in the tourism sector. Supporting factors for tourism village development include abundant natural and cultural potential, the active role of village institutions, and support from external parties such as local government, NGOs, and academics. However, several significant inhibiting factors exist, including a lack of understanding of the concept of a tourism village among some residents, uneven community participation, unpredictable weather conditions that impact tourist visits, and inadequate village infrastructure. Therefore, sustained efforts and collaboration from all parties are needed to optimize community empowerment strategies so that the development of Limbasari Tourism Village can be sustainable and provide economic, social, and cultural benefits to the local community.

Abstract

Waste that is not managed properly can have various negative impacts on the environment and public health, such as air and water pollution, aesthetic disturbances, and an increased risk of vector-borne diseases such as flies and rats. In traditional markets, this problem often arises due to the high buying and selling activities that produce various types of waste, both organic and inorganic. This study aims to identify the characteristics of waste produced in the traditional market of Gunungsitoli City, analyze the level of traders' participation in waste management, and examine the factors that affect this participation. The research methods used are a qualitative approach through direct observation in the field, in-depth interviews with traders and market visitors, and analysis of waste management policies that have been implemented by local governments and market managers. The results of the study show that even though market managers routinely socialize about cleanliness, traders' awareness to manage waste independently is still low. The main factors causing this are the limitations of waste management facilities, such as the availability of sorted waste bins, and the low understanding of traders about the adverse effects of waste on health and the environment. Therefore, continuous collaboration is needed between local governments, market managers, and the community, especially traders, to build a better cleanliness culture. Efforts that can be made include providing adequate infrastructure, training or education on waste management, and providing incentives or strict sanctions for traders so that they are more motivated to maintain cleanliness. With this integrated approach, it is hoped that waste management in the traditional market of Gunungsitoli City can run more effectively and sustainably.

Abstract

The high unemployment rate among vocational high school (SMK) graduates, particularly those majoring in logistics, has become a major concern in preparing a workforce that meets the needs of the modern industry. Many SMK graduates still lack a comprehensive understanding of logistics business processes, including the crucial role of supply chain management in company operations. Additionally, the lack of practical experience and technical skills has become a major barrier for these students to compete in the job market. To address this issue, this Community Service (PkM) program was designed to enhance both theoretical knowledge and practical skills of students from SMK Negeri 15 Jakarta in the field of supply chain management. The training was conducted in February 2025 by a team of lecturers and professionals from the Jakarta Institute of Transportation and Logistics. The training applied a contextual, practice-based, and participatory approach to create an active and industry-relevant learning experience. The implementation methods included interactive lectures, group discussions, mini supply chain simulations, visual-based media, and real industry case studies. Students were given opportunities to solve supply chain problems directly and practice making decisions based on available data. The results of the training showed a significant improvement in students' understanding of supply chain concepts and processes—from an initial level of 35% to 82%. Moreover, the program successfully increased students' confidence to enter the logistics job market and fostered essential soft skills such as teamwork, communication, and data analysis. As a follow-up initiative, a digital community called the “SMK Logistics Hub” was established as a collaborative platform to support the sustainability of learning and career development. This program demonstrated the importance of synergy between higher education institutions and vocational schools in bridging the competency gap and addressing the evolving needs of the modern logistics industry.

Abstract

Empowering the elderly is one of the important efforts in improving their quality of life and welfare in old age. The elderly are among the age groups that are vulnerable to experiencing a decline in physical, mental, and social conditions due to the aging process. Therefore, a holistic and sustainable approach is needed to support their health and quality of life. One of the activities that has proven effective is elderly gymnastics which can maintain body fitness, improve blood circulation, improve flexibility, balance, and reduce the risk of falling. Gymnastics can also help control blood pressure in the elderly with hypertension. On the other hand, storytelling activities provide great benefits to the mental and emotional health of the elderly. This activity can train memory, stimulate cognitive abilities, build confidence, and strengthen social relationships with others. Through sharing stories, seniors feel more valued, listened to, and have the opportunity to express their life experiences. Community Service Activities (PKM) in the Korpri Health Center Work Area aim to improve the physical, social, mental, and emotional health of the elderly through the Plan-Do-Check-Act (PDCA) approach. Before the activity starts, vital signs such as blood pressure, pulse, breathing, and body temperature are measured. The results of the examination showed that 20 out of 25 participants (80%) had hypertension with an average systolic blood pressure of 155.12 mmHg and diastolic 103.80 mmHg. After the examination, all the elderly took part in a gymnastics session guided by health center officers. The activity ended with a storytelling session, where 90% of the participants were able to remember events 20 years ago. These findings show the importance of regular check-ups, physical activity, and social interaction as preventive measures to improve the quality of life of the elderly. Storytelling has also been shown to strengthen emotional and social bonds among the elderly.

Abstract

The widespread use of chemical-based soaps has had a negative impact on the environment and human health. The hazardous chemicals contained in conventional cleaning products can pollute the air, damage ecosystems, and trigger skin and other health problems. This problem has become a concern in interest-based education, which emphasizes the importance of developing environmental awareness from an early age. In response to this issue, a community service activity was carried out at SMP Negeri 16 Malang by the Student Leadership Project Team of the Pre-Service PPG, State University of Malang. This activity aimed to raise ecological awareness and entrepreneurial spirit in students through a workshop on making natural soap from soap nuts, named "SILERY" (Environmentally Friendly Soap Soap). The approach used in this activity was Participatory Action Research (PAR), which involved five main stages: (1) identifying environmental problems and opportunities for nature-based solutions; (2) collaborative action planning between the implementation team and the school; (3) implementing activities in the form of counseling, presentations, and practicing natural soap making; (4) observing student involvement and understanding; and (5) reflecting on and evaluating the results of the activity. During the implementation, students showed high enthusiasm and active involvement in each session. They not only understood the concept of environmentally friendly products but also developed practical skills in mixing soap from soap nuts, packaging the products, and printing their creations in front of peers and teachers. This activity provided a space for students to learn contextually, collaboratively, and creatively. The final results showed that this activity was effective in improving students' ecological literacy, social skills, and entrepreneurial interests. Thus, this workshop serves as a concrete example of the application of sustainable education that not only equips participants with knowledge but also encourages them to become agents of change in protecting the environment.

Abstract

Bullying in schools significantly impacts students' psychosocial well-being, including decreased self-confidence, anxiety disorders, depression, and a desire to avoid school. This study aims to evaluate the effectiveness of a school-based anti-bullying program in reducing incidents of aggressive behavior among students at Manggala Middle School. This study used a qualitative approach, with data collection techniques through in-depth interviews with 10 teachers and 15 students as participants. In addition, researchers conducted direct observations of student activities and interactions in the school environment. The anti-bullying intervention program was implemented for one week and included several strategies, including counseling through seminars, the implementation of a strict school policy against all forms of bullying, and the involvement of the entire school community in creating a positive culture. One of the main principles of this policy is the consistent application of sanctions without discrimination, so that there is no room for tolerance for perpetrators of bullying. The results of the study indicate that Manggala Middle School has been committed and active in preventing and handling cases of bullying. Several efforts such as teacher patrols, student counseling, and monitoring of public spaces in the school have been carried out routinely. However, from observations and interviews, researchers found that there were still a number of students who did not realize that their actions were classified as bullying behavior, such as verbally teasing friends or excluding certain students from the group. Seeing this situation, the Community Service Program (KKN) participants from the Nusantara Islamic University (UNINUS) collaborated with the school to organize an anti-bullying seminar aimed at seventh and eighth grade students. This seminar aimed to increase students' awareness and understanding of the forms of bullying and their impact on victims. This program is expected to be the first step in creating a safe, comfortable, and violence-free learning space. Going forward, collaboration between schools, parents, and the community is expected to strengthen bullying prevention efforts on an ongoing basis.

Abstract

The handling of hazardous chemicals, such as sulfuric acid (H₂SO₄), in industrial processes requires a control system that ensures both operational reliability and safety. Manual pump operation in such contexts carries a significant risk of over-pumping, leaks, and exposure, which can lead to environmental contamination and safety hazards. To address this issue, this study focuses on the design and implementation of an automatic pump control system prototype using the Arduino Mega 2560 microcontroller. The system integrates three key sensors: a float switch for basic level detection, an ultrasonic sensor (HC-SR04) for precise liquid level measurement, and a water flow sensor (YF-S201) for monitoring flow rate. The prototype is programmed to automatically regulate pump operation based on real-time input from the sensors. When the liquid level reaches a predetermined threshold, the pump activates or deactivates accordingly. Sensor data, including fluid height and flow rate, are displayed in real-time on a 3.5-inch TFT LCD, allowing for direct operator monitoring. Both the hardware configuration and software algorithms were tested for functionality, response time, and accuracy under simulated industrial conditions. The results indicate that the system can reliably control pump activation with minimal error rates. The ultrasonic sensor demonstrated an average measurement error of 0.94%, while the water flow sensor achieved an error rate of 1.19%. The software successfully processed sensor data and executed output actions consistent with the programmed logic. Overall, this automated control system proved effective in mitigating the risk of over-pumping and improving safety in handling hazardous chemical fluids. Given its accuracy, reliability, and cost-effectiveness, the developed prototype is considered suitable for small- to medium-scale industrial applications, with potential for further refinement to meet larger operational demands.

Abstract

Indonesia, as a nation with exceptionally high disaster vulnerability due to its geographical and geological conditions situated at the convergence of three active tectonic plates, necessitates comprehensive mitigation efforts involving all societal elements, including higher education institutions. The Nias region, which possesses an extensive history of various natural disasters, requires particular attention in disaster preparedness initiatives. This research aims to analyse the implementation of the Disaster-Resilient Campus socialisation programme at the Faculty of Economics, Universitas Nias, to enhance the capacity of academic community members in confronting disaster risks. The implementation methodology encompasses training and workshops conducted by resource persons from the National Disaster Management Agency (BNPB) and regional disaster management agencies (BPBD), evacuation simulations featuring earthquake and campus fire scenarios, development of emergency Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and continuous monitoring and evaluation processes. The activities were conducted over two days, actively involving students, lecturers, and educational personnel throughout the entire programme sequence. Research findings demonstrate that 92% of participants experienced significant improvement in understanding disaster mitigation and emergency response procedures. Emergency SOP documents were successfully compiled and disseminated throughout the faculty environment as standard emergency procedure guidelines. Evacuation simulations proved highly effective, achieving evacuation speed improvements of up to 50% compared to initial baseline measurements. The programme successfully fostered a disaster-aware culture, evidenced by the autonomous formation of student disaster response volunteer teams. The implementation of the Disaster-Resilient Campus programme demonstrates effectiveness in establishing adaptive and responsive preparedness governance systems for disaster risks within higher education environments.
