Abstract

Dengue Hemorrhagic Fever (DHF) remains a serious public health problem in Indonesia, especially in densely populated urban areas with poor sanitation. This condition motivated the implementation of a community service program in Tanjung Uma Village, Lubuk Baja, aimed at increasing community awareness and participation in DHF prevention through an innovative approach. The community acted as an active partner in the program to ensure sustainability. The method used was a Mosquito Larvae Competition among Neighborhood Units (RT), conducted through four stages: socialization, community preparation, field assessment, and appreciation. Socialization provided education on DHF transmission and prevention, followed by collective environmental cleaning activities. Field assessments evaluated environmental cleanliness and mosquito larvae presence, while appreciation served as motivation through recognition. The results showed increased public awareness of environmental hygiene and the application of the 3M Plus program. High participation was reflected in household involvement, the formation of independent larvae monitoring teams (jumantik), and creative initiatives such as planting mosquito-repellent plants and recycling waste. Overall, the program successfully promoted behavioral change and strengthened community solidarity.

Abstract

The 2025 Bina Desa activity is a community service program aimed at enhancing the capacity of the youth in Kampung Pekijing in content and multimedia production as an effort to strengthen the role of citizen journalists. Kampung Pekijing has the potential to become a Literacy Tourism Village, but it is not yet supported by adequate digital promotion skills among the local community, especially the younger generation. This activity begins with a series of field observations to identify the needs and main issues of the village, which then serve as the basis for designing the training program. The implementation method uses participatory training that combines material delivery, discussions, interactive quizzes, and hands-on content production practice. The training is conducted in two stages, focusing on strengthening the understanding of content concepts, basic photography and videography techniques, up to the practice of creating and editing videos in a contextual manner. The results of the activity indicate an increase in participants' knowledge and skills in producing digital content, marked by their ability to independently create video content. In addition, participants showed a positive response to the material and training methods applied. Although there were some technical obstacles and time limitations, this activity demonstrated that practice-based and locally contextualized training is effective in encouraging youth engagement as citizen journalists to support the branding of Kampung Pekijing.

This program was implemented in Kampung Pekijing, Kalang Anyar Village, Taktakan District, Serang City, which has been designated as a Literacy Tourism Village. Abstract

The BINA DESA 2025 program is a community service activity that aims to strengthen the role of teenagers as citizen journalists through training in coverage and reporting in the Pekijing Literacy Tourism Village, Serang City. This program was initiated due to the suboptimal documentation and publication of village activities through digital media, as well as the limited understanding of teenagers regarding the basics of journalism. The activity was carried out in three stages: preparation, implementation, and evaluation and monitoring. The training was conducted in three sessions using lectures, simulations, worksheets, and hands-on interviews in the field. Evaluation was conducted through pre-tests and post-tests, observation, and activity reflection. The results of the activity showed an increase in participants' understanding from an average pre-test score of 60% to 90% on the post-test. In addition to improving basic journalism understanding, this training also contributed to the development of youth career skills, such as communication skills, self-confidence, questioning skills, and cooperation. However, several obstacles were found, such as differences in participants' levels of understanding, time constraints, and unequal opportunities for practice.

Abstract

The "Larantuka Cerdas Ekonomi" Community Service Program was implemented in Lewolere Village, Larantuka District, with the aim of improving economic literacy, entrepreneurial skills, and community economic independence based on local potential. The background to this activity was the community's low ability to manage finances, develop business plans, and optimally utilize local economic opportunities. The method applied was a participatory approach that included identifying community needs and potential, economic literacy education, entrepreneurship training, business implementation assistance, and evaluation of program success. Data were collected through observations, interviews, focus group discussions, questionnaires, and activity documentation during the 12-week implementation period. Results indicate that the program successfully improved community skills in developing business plans, cost analysis, marketing strategies, and local product innovation. Direct mentoring proved effective in strengthening the application of economics and entrepreneurship, helping participants overcome production and marketing constraints, and increasing economic independence. The "Larantuka Cerdas Ekonomi" model, which integrates economic education, entrepreneurship training, and local wisdom-based mentoring, proved adaptive, contextual, and sustainable. The implications of this program demonstrate that effective community empowerment requires a holistic, participatory approach focused on real-world practice, enabling communities to independently apply economic knowledge. This program can be replicated in other areas with similar social and economic characteristics to sustainably improve community welfare and economic capacity.

Abstract

This international collaborative community service program is designed to transform the entrepreneurial paradigm of students at Al-Amalul Khoir Islamic High School in Palembang by strengthening innovative promotional strategies for local culinary products, particularly pempek. This initiative was motivated by the low competitiveness of partner products due to the use of conventional packaging, minimal application of packaging technology, and the lack of a strong and marketable brand identity. These conditions impact the limited market reach and economic value of the students' products. The program's implementation method uses a Participatory Rural Appraisal (PRA) approach, which emphasizes active participation by partners in every stage of the activity. Program stages include the delivery of theoretical material on entrepreneurship and halal product marketing, a creative packaging design workshop focused on branding, and hands-on practice in the application of hygienic and food-standard vacuum packaging technology. This approach allows for contextual and applicable learning for participants. The results of the activity showed a significant increase in students' understanding of the legal and regulatory aspects of halal labeling, increasing from 34.5% to 89.7%. Furthermore, students' technical skills in designing innovative and distinctive packaging also significantly improved. The program concluded that integrating modern packaging technology with appropriate branding strategies can increase the competitiveness and economic value of local products in a sustainable manner.

Abstract

The disconnection in the transmission of maritime knowledge to partners in Southern Thailand poses a serious challenge to the preservation of cultural identity. The activity partner, Madrasah Tahfidz Al-Qur’an Addalawiyah in Pattani, faces obstacles in contextualizing its revelation based curriculum with modern technological advancements. This community service program aims to bridge this gap through an ethno techno religious approach. The implementation employs the Participatory Action Learning (PAL) method, which integrates the philosophy of Phinisi shipbuilding, Critical Path Method (CPM) project management, and the interpretation of Kauniyah verses. Therefore, a structured process of introducing Bugis-Makassar culture through sharing sessions using storytelling and discussion methods is necessary. The results of the activity indicate that: (1) internalizing the values of Siri’ na Pacce in ship construction can awaken students’ collective memory of their ancestral heritage; (2) the application of the PERT/CPM method in shipbuilding simulations provides a concrete understanding of time management aligned with Q.S. Al-‘Asr; and (3) the emergence of a new paradigm in which shipbuilding technology is understood as a tangible manifestation of the teachings of the Qur’an. This program recommends an integrative education model that positions local wisdom as the entry point for science learning in faith-based educational institutions
