Abstract

This research focuses on exploring the quality management paradigm in Islamic education amidst social, cultural, and institutional changes. The background to this study is based on the fact that many Islamic educational institutions, particularly Islamic boarding schools (pesantren), face challenges in defining and implementing quality systematically amidst the continued dominance of traditional values. Using a qualitative, phenomenological approach, this research was conducted at Madrasah Diniyah Raudlatul Ulum, Situbondo, East Java. Data collection techniques included in-depth interviews, participant observation, and documentation studies, which were then analyzed using the Miles and Huberman model. The results reveal a tension between the traditional quality paradigm, based on spirituality and adab (ethics) and the systemic approach based on formal measurement and administrative indicators. The charismatic leadership of Islamic boarding schools plays a key role in determining the direction of quality transformation, while local social and cultural dynamics often contribute to resistance to the implementation of formal quality systems. These findings demonstrate that quality management in Islamic education is not merely a technical issue but also a matter of values, meaning, and context. The implications of this research point to the need to develop a quality management model based on local culture and values ​​that can bridge traditional and modern approaches harmoniously and contextually.

Abstract

This study employs a qualitative approach using a descriptive-analytical method to analyze the meanings and types of metaphors found in the lyrics of the song “Bertaut” by Nadin Amizah. This method was chosen because it allows the researcher to interpret data deeply within the linguistic and artistic context embedded in the lyrics. The main focus of the study lies in the process of identifying, classifying, and interpreting metaphorical expressions that represent complex emotional and aesthetic experiences. Data collection was carried out directly by the researcher through observation and note-taking techniques by carefully reading and examining the lyrics. All expressions with metaphorical potential were marked and collected for further analysis. The data analysis followed a systematic procedure consisting of intensive reading of the lyrics, identification of metaphorical forms, and classification based on Ullmann’s theory of metaphor. This theory provides a framework that includes several types of metaphors, such as anthropomorphic metaphors, animal metaphors, synesthetic metaphors, and abstract metaphors. The analysis identified seven metaphorical expressions in the song’s lyrics, reflecting the creative use of figurative language to convey profound emotional meanings. These metaphors were found to enrich the aesthetic value of the lyrics and enhance the expressive power of the song in depicting the singer’s inner experiences. Thus, the applied methodology not only reveals the structure of figurative language within the lyrics but also bridges the understanding of the complex meanings contained therein

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis peran kepemimpinan transformatif dalam penguatan kompetensi guru pada implementasi Kurikulum Berbasis Kompetensi (KBK) di MA Miftahul Janna At-Tohir. Menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan metode studi kasus, penelitian ini melibatkan kepala madrasah, guru, pengurus pesantren, wali asuh, dan santri sebagai informan utama. Data dikumpulkan melalui wawancara mendalam, observasi partisipatif, dan studi dokumentasi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa kepemimpinan transformatif kepala madrasah berperan signifikan dalam meningkatkan kompetensi guru melalui strategi motivasi, supervisi humanis, serta penguatan visi bersama. Selain itu, praktik kolaborasi guru seperti Lesson Study dan rapat partisipatif menjadi kunci terbentuknya budaya kerja yang inovatif dan adaptif. Dokumentasi yang tertata rapi juga berperan sebagai instrumen strategis untuk menjaga kesinambungan program- program penguatan kompetensi guru. Temuan penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa kepemimpinan transformatif yang dilaksanakan secara konsisten dan terstruktur mampu menciptakan transformasi positif dalam budaya organisasi madrasah, khususnya dalam membangun kompetensi guru dan meningkatkan mutu pembelajaran

Abstract

Penulisan ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis pengaruh penggunaan teknologi digital terhadap manajemen pembelajaran diniyah di Pondok Pesantren Nurul Jadid. Dalam konteks pendidikan Islam, khususnya pembelajaran diniyah, integrasi teknologi digital diharapkan dapat meningkatkan efektivitas dan efisiensi proses pembelajaran. Meskipun pembelajaran diniyah identik dengan metode tradisional, pemanfaatan media digital seperti aplikasi pembelajaran dan video interaktif dapat memperkaya pengalaman belajar santri. Penulisan ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan metode survei yang melibatkan 43 guru diniyah di Pondok Pesantren Nurul Jadid. Hasil penulisan menunjukkan bahwa penggunaan teknologi digital memiliki pengaruh positif dan signifikan terhadap kualitas manajemen pembelajaran diniyah, dengan kontribusi sebesar 35,8% terhadap perencanaan, pelaksanaan, dan evaluasi pembelajaran. Hasil ini mengindikasikan bahwa integrasi teknologi digital dapat menjadi alat yang efektif dalam meningkatkan mutu pendidikan diniyah tanpa mengabaikan nilai-nilai Islam yang mendasarinya. Oleh karena itu, disarankan agar pesantren mengembangkan kebijakan integrasi teknologi yang terstruktur, termasuk pelatihan bagi guru dan pengembangan kurikulum berbasis digital.

Abstract

This study aims to explore the concept and implementation of differentiated instruction in contemporary Islamic religious education as a transformational approach. Using a qualitative approach based on library research, this study examines recent literature to identify benefits, challenges, and relevant implementation strategies. The findings indicate that differentiated instruction enhances student engagement by tailoring teaching methods to individual needs, interests, and learning styles. This approach also fosters the internalization of Islamic values through personalized, contextual, and relevant learning experiences. However, its implementation faces challenges such as limited time, resources, and adequate teacher training. As a transformational approach, differentiated instruction requires teachers to adapt to student diversity through innovation and educational technology. Practical recommendations include capacity building for teachers through intensive training, utilizing digital technology, and policy support to encourage flexibility in learning. With the right approach, differentiated instruction has the potential to transform Islamic religious education into a more inclusive, applicable, and relevant system for contemporary challenges.

Abstract

This study stemmed from the researcher’s observation of varying levels of Qur’an memorization among students; some exhibited strong memorization abilities, while others showed lower levels. The researcher also noticed a clear gap in Arabic language achievement between students with strong Qur’anic memorization skills and those without. Based on this background, the researcher aimed to examine the relationship between Qur’an memorization and academic performance in Arabic, specifically among second-level female students at Hidayatullah Islamic Institute in Batu City.The research employed a population-based correlational method using regression analysis as the analytical tool. The population consisted of all second-level female students at the institute, totaling 26 students in one class. Data were collected through documentation of Qur’an memorization scores and the results of an achievement test in Arabic.The results of the analysis revealed the following regression equation: Y = 32.117 + 0.628X The hypothesis test showed that the calculated t-value was 4.007, which exceeded the table t-value of 2.604 at a 5% significance level. This indicates that the null hypothesis (H₀) was rejected, and the alternative hypothesis (H₁) was accepted. The coefficient of determination (R²) was 40.1%, suggesting that 40.1% of the variance in Arabic language scores can be explained by Qur’an memorization. Based on these findings, the study concludes that Qur’an memorization has a statistically significant impact on students’ academic performance in the Arabic language among second-level female students at Hidayatullah Islamic Institute in Batu City.

Abstract

Recent shifts in national education policy, particularly under the new government, have brought notable implications for vocational schools. Simultaneously, the rapid evolution of artificial intelligence (AI) continues to reshape teaching and learning practices across the country. SMK Desain Komunikasi Visual Nurul Qarnain, situated within a traditional Islamic boarding school, is one of the institutions facing the challenge of navigating these dual pressures. This research employed a qualitative approach, involving in-depth interviews, observations, and document analysis. The findings indicate that the school grapples with structural limitations, including limited access to digital resources and state policies that prioritize efficiency and market alignment. Nevertheless, the institution has begun adjusting its curriculum and teaching methods, integrating AI tools selectively to support student creativity. The study reveals the capacity of such schools to develop value-based forms of adaptation that align with local needs and offer insights for more inclusive and responsive educational policy design.

Abstract

This research examines the influence of the Ma'had Aly An-Nur II curriculum on various aspects of the An-Nur II community, assessing the extent of its impact. Pesantren are often perceived as using outdated methods and resisting modernization, which can limit progress. However, adapting to an increasingly advanced era brings many benefits when done with careful understanding and preparation, avoiding negative influences. Ma'had Aly, though operating within a pesantren setting, embraces modern perspectives while preserving traditional values. This is supported by a well-designed curriculum developed with expertise, strategic planning, and clear target scope. Findings show that the curriculum plays a central role in shaping organizational performance. The case of An-Nur II can serve as a model for pesantren in balancing modernization with the preservation of their mindset and traditions.

Abstract

The Fourth Industrial Revolution has had a significant impact on the transformation of education, including increasingly complex and dynamic demands on teachers' competencies. This study aims to systematically examine various literature related to the development of teacher competencies in responding to the challenges of the digital era. A literature review method was employed, analysing relevant scholarly sources, including journal articles, academic books, policy documents, and reports from international organisations published between 2015 and 2025. The findings indicate that teachers are required to possess digital literacy skills, critical thinking, creativity, collaboration, and the ability to integrate technology into student-centred learning practices. Furthermore, continuous professional development, institutional support, and a shift in mindset are key factors in strengthening teachers' capacity in the era of the Fourth Industrial Revolution. This study recommends the need for policies that support needs-based training, professional collaboration, and equitable provision of digital infrastructure. Thus, the findings of this research can serve as a foundation for policymaking and educational practices that are more responsive to the demands of the times.

Abstract

This study investigates the effectiveness of the Ummi Method in improving Qur’an reading skills among mothers attending classes at Rumah Tahfidz Haromain. The research background highlights the challenges faced by adult learners, particularly low fluency, inaccurate articulation of makhraj, and inconsistent application of tajwid. The Ummi Method was selected due to its structured approach, emphasis on tartil habituation, and integration of both classical and individualized strategies. Employing a quantitative approach with a one-group pretest–posttest design, the study involved 20 purposively selected participants. Data collection instruments included pre- and post-intervention reading tests, alongside observation sheets assessing participation and motivation. Data analysis utilized paired sample t-tests and descriptive statistics. Findings indicate a significant improvement, with posttest scores showing a 25% increase compared to pretest results. Enhancements were observed across fluency, makhraj accuracy, and consistent tajwid application. Qualitative data further revealed heightened motivation, active participation, and increased self-confidence among participants. These outcomes were supported by talaqqi, repetitive practice (tikrar), and personalized correction. The results demonstrate that the Ummi Method is effective not only for children but also adaptable for adult learners in nonformal institutions. The study recommends sustained implementation supported by relevant media and certified instructors to optimize long-term outcomes
