Abstract

This study aims to analyze violations of the Cooperative Principle in Kisah Nabi Yusuf AS Episode 18, which was broadcast on the Salam Media YouTube channel. The research employs a qualitative descriptive method with a pragmatic approach, focusing on the identification and classification of Cooperative Principle violations based on Grice’s theory, namely the maxims of quantity, quality, relevance, and manner. The research data consist of utterances produced by the characters in the film, collected through observation and note-taking techniques. Data analysis was conducted by applying intralingual and extralingual matching techniques to interpret the utterances in relation to their linguistic and situational contexts. The findings reveal that violations of all four maxims of the Cooperative Principle occur in the dialogues between characters, serving various communicative purposes such as avoiding direct responses, concealing particular intentions, conveying implicit meanings, and enhancing the dramatic effect of the narrative. These findings indicate that violations of the Cooperative Principle function as pragmatic strategies that support interactional dynamics and conflict development within film discourse.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the influence of teacher role modeling and Islamic school culture on students’ moral behavior at SMA IT Nurul Ilmi Siak. A quantitative correlational design was applied. Data were collected through questionnaires distributed to 62 respondents. Multiple regression analysis was conducted to examine the research hypotheses. The results revealed that teacher role modeling significantly influenced moral behavior (p = 0.050) and Islamic school culture also significantly influenced moral behavior (p < 0.001). Simultaneously, both variables significantly affected moral behavior (F = 20.62; p = 0.000). The coefficient of determination (R² = 0.411) indicates that 41.1% of the variation in moral behavior can be explained by teacher role modeling and Islamic school culture. This study highlights the importance of Islamic educational culture and exemplary guidance in shaping students’ moral development.

Abstract

This study aims to identify the application of positive psychology in Islamic Religious Education (PAI) learning in elementary schools and analyze its impact on students' spiritual well-being. Positive psychology, which focuses on developing happiness, gratitude, optimism, and empathy, is integrated into PAI materials to improve students' character and spiritual well-being. A qualitative research method with a case study approach was used to explore the experiences of students, teachers, and principals in implementing positive psychology in PAI learning. The results show that the application of positive psychology can increase students' self-confidence, learning motivation, and inner peace. Students involved in positive psychology-based learning demonstrate a more positive attitude, are able to manage their emotions, and have a greater sense of gratitude for their lives. Although there are challenges in implementation, such as differences in student backgrounds and limited learning time, a flexible and collaborative approach between teachers and parents can help overcome these obstacles. This research contributes to the development of an PAI curriculum that is more relevant and responsive to students' spiritual needs in the modern era

Abstract

Adolescents in the digital era are increasingly exposed to diverse religious narratives that may influence their attitudes toward religious diversity, tolerance, and moderation. This study aims to examine the effect of spiritual intelligence and social intelligence on religious moderation among adolescents in the digital era. Employing a quantitative approach with a causal explanatory survey design, the research involved 78 students of SMP IT Ash Shohwah, Berau Regency, selected through purposive sampling. Data were collected using validated and reliable Likert-scale questionnaires and analyzed using multiple linear regression with SPSS. The results indicate that spiritual intelligence has a significant positive effect on adolescents’ religious moderation. Social intelligence also demonstrates a significant positive effect on religious moderation. Simultaneously, spiritual intelligence and social intelligence significantly influence religious moderation, contributing 45.3% to the variance, while the remaining 54.7% is explained by other factors beyond this study. These findings highlight the importance of strengthening adolescents’ internal capacities, particularly spiritual and social intelligence, as a strategic foundation for fostering moderate, tolerant, and inclusive religious attitudes in the context of rapid digitalization

Abstract

The rapid advancement of digital technology has transformed patterns of communication and social interaction, particularly among Generation Z as digital natives. Although digital media offers extensive educational and social benefits, it also presents ethical challenges such as misinformation, cyberbullying, hate speech, and impulsive online behaviour. This study aims to examine the effects of digital literacy and self-control on ethical online behaviour among Generation Z and to analyse their combined predictive power. This research employed a quantitative cross-sectional survey design involving 130 students of MTs Bilingual Muslimat NU Pucang Sidoarjo, Indonesia, selected from a population of 191 students using proportionate random sampling. Data were collected through a structured questionnaire using a five-point Likert scale, and the instruments were confirmed to be valid and reliable. Multiple linear regression analysis was used to test the proposed hypotheses. The results indicate that digital literacy has a positive and significant effect on ethical online behaviour (B = 0.477; p < 0.001), suggesting that higher levels of digital competence and ethical awareness contribute to more responsible online conduct. Self-control also shows a positive and significant influence (B = 0.324; p < 0.001), highlighting the role of emotional regulation and impulse control in shaping ethical behaviour in digital environments. Simultaneously, digital literacy and self-control explain 48.1% of the variance in ethical online behaviour (R² = 0.481; p < 0.001), indicating that ethical online behaviour emerges from the integration of cognitive competence and self-regulatory capacity. These findings emphasise the importance of integrating digital literacy education with self-control and character development programs to foster ethical online behaviour among Generation Z.
