Abstract

Environmental problems in Indonesia show an increasing trend due to low public awareness in preserving nature. Education is one strategic approach to foster environmental awareness from an early age, one of which is through the Adiwiyata Program. This study aims to describe the management of the Adiwiyata Program and the strategy for developing environmentally conscious character at SMP Negeri 26 Gresik. The method used is qualitative with data collection techniques in the form of observation, interviews, and documentation. Data analysis was carried out through reduction, presentation, and drawing conclusions, while data validity was obtained through triangulation of sources and techniques. The results of the study indicate that the management of the Adiwiyata Program at SMP Negeri 26 Gresik was implemented effectively through structured planning, organizing involving the entire school community, implementing various routine and incidental environmental programs, and continuous evaluation. The strategy for developing environmentally conscious character was carried out through school policies, habituation, teacher role models, the use of environmentally friendly facilities and infrastructure, and active student participation. The Adiwiyata Program has been proven to contribute to shaping positive student behavior, such as disposing of waste in its place, sorting waste, caring for plants, and implementing environmentally friendly habits in daily life. Thus, the Adiwiyata Program plays a significant role in building environmentally conscious character in schools.

Abstract

This study examines the conceptual foundations and operational dynamics of Quality Assurance (QA) in Islamic education by addressing the persistent gap between formal regulatory frameworks and the actual implementation of continuous quality improvement across educational institutions. Although QA has become a global imperative aligned with demands for accountability, effectiveness, and institutional competitiveness, many Islamic educational institutions still struggle to translate QA principles into an integrative, systematic, and future-oriented quality culture. Focusing on conceptual-theoretical analysis, this research aims to articulate a comprehensive understanding of QA from the perspective of Rusydi Ahmad Thoimah and to juxtapose it with major Western QA frameworks such as those proposed by Crosby, Lim, Dickinson, and ISO 9001. This qualitative study employs a library-based analytical method, combining conceptual synthesis, comparative analysis, and interpretative reading of primary and secondary literature to construct a coherent model of QA in Islamic education. The findings reveal that Thoimah emphasizes QA as a philosophical-cultural process grounded in value-based educational purposes, while Western QA models center on managerial, procedural, and preventive mechanisms designed to ensure consistency and accountability. The synthesis of both perspectives indicates that effective QA in Islamic education requires harmonizing intrinsic quality (akademik, adab, spiritual values) and extrinsic quality (stakeholder satisfaction, relevance, and global standards). The study proposes a conceptual QA model integrating input-process-output monitoring, continuous improvement, and leadership-based quality culture. These findings imply that strengthening QA in Islamic education demands not only procedural compliance but also strategic alignment, institutional commitment, and value-based quality culture to enhance long-term sustainability and competitiveness.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis secara komprehensif strategi implementasi profil pelajar pancasila (profil pelajar pancasila) dalam pembelajaran intrakurikuler pendidikan agama islam di SMA Negeri 1 Gemolong. Fokus penelitian mencakup analisis mendalam terhadap tahapan perencanaan, pelaksanaan, dan evaluasi pembelajaran, serta identifikasi faktor-faktor pendukung dan penghambat yang bersifat pedagogis, kultural, dan institusional. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan desain studi kasus deskriptif. Pengumpulan data dilaksanakan melalui observasi partisipatif di kelas XI E selama setengah semester, wawancara semi-terstruktur dengan guru pai, wakil kepala sekolah bidang kurikulum, dan peserta didik, serta analisis dokumentasi kurikulum operasional satuan pendidikan (kosp) dan modul ajar pai. Keabsahan data diuji menggunakan triangulasi sumber dan triangulasi teknik. Data dianalisis secara interaktif menggunakan model miles dan huberman (reduksi data, penyajian data, dan penarikan kesimpulan). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa strategi implementasi   profil pelajar pancasila telah terintegrasi secara sistematis. Pada tahap perencanaan,   profil pelajar pancasila diintegrasikan ke dalam modul ajar per bab. Pada tahap pelaksanaan, keenam dimensi   profil pelajar pancasila diinternalisasikan secara bertahap melalui (a) pembiasaan (doa, tadarus, cek kebersihan) dan (b) metode pembelajaran yang berpusat pada siswa, seperti diskusi kelompok dan pembelajaran berbasis proyek (project-based learning). Pada tahap evaluasi, guru menerapkan asesmen formatif (keaktifan, observasi ibadah) dan asesmen sumatif yang tidak hanya berbentuk tes tulis, tetapi juga penilaian proyek karya siswa. Faktor pendukung utama adalah sinergi antara pelatihan guru dan budaya sekolah yang kuat (program 5S dan status sekolah adipangastuti). Faktor penghambatnya meliputi tantangan pedagogis dalam adaptasi guru terhadap kurikulum baru, keragaman karakter dan motivasi peserta didik, serta kendala sarana (renovasi masjid).

Abstract

Cross-cultural counseling has emerged as a critical paradigm in modern counseling practice, particularly in addressing the psychological needs of diverse populations in the context of globalization. This study examines the concept, principles, and implementation of cross-cultural counseling within Islamic education settings in Indonesia. Using a qualitative approach with literature review methodology, this research explores how culture fundamentally shapes human cognition, emotion, and behavior, and analyzes contemporary cultural challenges including acculturation stress, stereotypes, discrimination, and value confusion resulting from rapid social change. The findings reveal that effective cross-cultural counseling requires three core competencies: cultural awareness (recognition of counselor's own biases), cultural knowledge (understanding client's cultural background), and cultural skills (ability to apply culturally appropriate interventions). Within the Islamic context, this study proposes an integrative model that combines multicultural counseling principles with Islamic values such as tazkiyah al-nafs, social justice (al-'adl), and respect for human dignity. The research identifies essential support services including culturally sensitive assessment, multicultural supervision, community collaboration, and spiritual-religious interventions. This study contributes to the development of culturally responsive counseling practices in Islamic educational institutions and provides a framework for counselors working with Muslim clients in multicultural settings.

Abstract

This study aims to explain the position of children from the perspective of the Qur'an and explore educational values ​​and methods that can be applied in developing children's character. The study uses a qualitative-descriptive approach with a literature study type through thematic analysis of Qur'anic verses, classical and contemporary interpretations, as well as Islamic education and developmental psychology literature. The results show that the Qur'an positions children as a trust that must be guarded, a natural disposition that needs to be guided, a trial (slander) for parents, and a comforter. This position provides a theological basis for comprehensive education. The educational values ​​that emerge include faith, worship, morals, and social values ​​as depicted in Luqman's advice to his son. The Qur'anic educational methods found include role models, habituation, advice, and dialogue, all of which are in accordance with the needs of child development. The integration of Jalaluddin Rakhmat's thoughts demonstrates the importance of a humanistic and empathetic approach in Islamic education to avoid being trapped in rigid and normative parenting patterns. This research emphasizes the need for a Qur'anic education model that balances the strength of religious values ​​and an understanding of child psychology so that education can shape character more effectively and relevantly in the modern era

Abstract

Educational leadership plays a strategic role in improving the quality of learning services in primary schools. This study aims to describe and analyze the role of educational leadership in the development of learning products and services at SD Negeri 1 Widoropayung, Situbondo. A qualitative descriptive approach was employed, involving the principal, teachers, and educational staff as research participants. Data were collected through classroom and school activity observations, semi-structured interviews, and document analysis, and were analyzed narratively by identifying themes, patterns, and relationships among findings. Data credibility was ensured through source and method triangulation. The results reveal that the principal implements a visionary, collaborative, and participatory leadership style in driving instructional innovation. Leadership strategies are manifested through in-house teacher training, developmental instructional supervision, provision of supporting facilities, and recognition of teachers’ creativity. Such leadership encourages the creation of various innovative learning products, including visual teaching media, literacy modules, creative lesson plans, and simple digital learning materials, as well as the development of holistic learning services addressing students’ academic, emotional, and social needs. The impact of these initiatives is evident in increased student learning motivation, enhanced teacher creativity, and the establishment of an active, inclusive, and supportive learning environment. This study concludes that strong and empowering educational leadership is a key determinant in improving the quality of learning services in primary education.

Abstract

Konsep tarbiyah, ta‘lim, dan ta’dib merupakan terminologi fundamental dalam diskursus pendidikan Islam yang masing-masing memiliki penekanan makna dan orientasi pedagogis yang berbeda. Artikel ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji arah perkembangan pemahaman dan penggunaan ketiga konsep tersebut dalam literatur pendidikan Islam, baik klasik maupun kontemporer. Metode yang digunakan adalah studi literatur (literature review) dengan menelaah buku dan artikel jurnal ilmiah yang membahas konsep tarbiyah, ta‘lim, dan ta’dib dari perspektif filosofis, teologis, dan pedagogis. Hasil kajian menunjukkan bahwa tarbiyah cenderung dipahami sebagai proses pembinaan dan pengembangan potensi peserta didik secara menyeluruh, ta‘lim lebih berorientasi pada transmisi dan penguasaan ilmu pengetahuan, sedangkan ta’dib menekankan pembentukan adab sebagai fondasi utama pendidikan Islam. Dalam perkembangan literatur kontemporer, ketiga konsep tersebut tidak lagi diposisikan secara dikotomis, melainkan dipahami secara integratif sebagai kerangka pendidikan Islam yang holistik. Integrasi tarbiyah, ta‘lim, dan ta’dib dipandang mampu menjawab tantangan pendidikan modern dengan tetap mempertahankan nilai-nilai normatif Islam. Dengan demikian, arah perkembangan konsep pendidikan Islam menunjukkan kecenderungan menuju sintesis konseptual yang menekankan keseimbangan antara penguasaan ilmu, pembinaan karakter, dan internalisasi nilai adab.

Abstract

This research focuses on the development of an entrepreneurial leadership model to strengthen the quality and reputation of educational institutions, using a case study of Ulil Albab Islamic Senior High School (SMA IT Ulil Albab). The research objective is to analyze the characteristics of the principal's entrepreneurial leadership, the mechanisms of its influence on quality management, and its contribution to the institution's reputation. Using a qualitative case study approach, data were collected through in-depth interviews, participant observation, and document analysis. Data were analyzed using the Miles and Huberman model through data condensation, data presentation, and conclusion drawing and verification. The results show that the principal's entrepreneurial leadership is characterized by innovative, visionary, collaborative characteristics, and the courage to take calculated risks. These characteristics directly influence the transformation of the organizational culture to become more adaptive, creative, collaborative, and spiritually valuable. This cultural change strengthens the implementation of quality educational services through innovative programs, increased teacher participation, and active student involvement. In addition, entrepreneurial leadership contributes significantly to improving the institution's reputation, as demonstrated by increased public trust, expanded partnership networks, and the school's visibility in the public sphere. The implications of this research confirm that entrepreneurial leadership is a key strategy for integrated Islamic educational institutions to increase competitiveness in the era of disruption. This leadership model can be adopted by other school principals to encourage innovation, strengthen quality, and build a sustainable institutional image. This research also provides a theoretical contribution by mapping the integrative relationship between entrepreneurial leadership, organizational culture, educational quality, and institutional reputation in the context of Islamic education.

Abstract

Penelitian ini menganalisis pengaruh metode Tasmi’ terhadap motivasi menghafal Al-Qur’an pada santri Pondok Pesantren Ar Rohmah Bades. Rendahnya motivasi santri dalam menjaga hafalan mendorong perlunya metode yang menumbuhkan motivasi intrinsik. Metode Tasmi’, yaitu memperdengarkan hafalan di hadapan guru atau teman sejawat, diyakini dapat meningkatkan semangat melalui umpan balik langsung dan pengakuan sosial. Penelitian menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan desain asosiatif-eksplanatori. Data diperoleh dari 68 santri melalui angket skala Likert dengan reliabilitas tinggi (Cronbach’s Alpha = 0,835). Hasil analisis menunjukkan Tasmi’ berpengaruh signifikan terhadap motivasi menghafal (β = 0,986; p = 0,002), sedangkan dukungan sosial tidak signifikan (β = 0,073; p = 0,197). Nilai R² sebesar 0,186 menunjukkan model menjelaskan 18,6% variasi motivasi. Temuan ini menegaskan bahwa penerapan Tasmi’ yang terstruktur dan berorientasi pada umpan balik positif efektif meningkatkan motivasi intrinsik santri dalam menghafal Al-Qur’an.

Abstract

The abstract discusses the thought of Syed Muhammad Naquib al-Attas on the development of Islamic education through the three main aspects of the philosophy of knowledge: ontology, epistemology, and axiology. The ontological dimension presents Islamic education as the very nature of the life of rational human beings, directed toward the development of human potential on the basis of the relationship with Allah, and conceptualized through ta’lim, tarbiyah, and especially ta’dib as the most appropriate term for Islamic education. Epistemologically, al-Attas proposes a tawhidic epistemology that integrates sensory, intellectual, spiritual, and intuitive elements in an integral way, with the Qur’an, the Sunnah, and the classical Islamic scholarly tradition as its primary sources, thereby rejecting the secular epistemic paradigm of Western philosophy of science. From this synthesis emerge several principles of tawhidic epistemology that emphasize the unity of the religious and the scientific, the strengthening of the spiritual dimension, and the elimination of the dichotomy of knowledge, so that knowledge becomes a means for the formation of adab. Axiologically, Islamic education is oriented toward realizing the purpose of human life as ‘abid and khalifah, so that knowledge is not merely a technical instrument, but bears the value of worship and is directed toward the cultivation of adab, ethics, and true happiness in accordance with the Islamic worldview.
