Abstract

Mental health is a major concern for Generation Z, who live under academic and social pressure and use technology intensively. Islamic spirituality offers an inner approach that is believed to provide peace and emotional stability. This article aims to examine the role of Islamic spirituality as a protective factor and form of intervention in improving the mental health of Generation Z. This study uses a qualitative method through a literature review, supplemented by interviews with several students as respondents. The results of the study show that spiritual practices such as prayer, remembrance of God, supplication, reading the Qur'an, and values such as patience, gratitude, and trust in God can reduce stress, overthinking, and anxiety. Spirituality also helps build resilience, self-awareness, and the ability to manage psychological pressure. These findings confirm that an Islamic spiritual approach can be an alternative intervention in maintaining the mental well-being of Generation Z amid the challenges of modern life.

Abstract

This study investigates the concept of qana‘ah (contentment) as a psycho sociological solution for Fear of Missing Out (FOMO) among Generation Z, utilizing a normative hadith studies approach integrated with social psychology analysis. The research focuses on how prophetic traditions emphasizing self sufficiency and gratitude can mitigate the anxiety and comparative behaviors driven by digital media exposure. Data were analyzed through thematic analysis of relevant aḥ ādīth regarding ghina an nafs (wealth of the soul) and the discouragement of social comparison. The findings indicate that FOMO, rooted in upward social comparison and compulsive use, is a key driver of cognitive distraction and spiritual imbalance. Thematic analysis reveals that qana‘ah functions as a multi layered solution: (1) Cognitive Reframing (shifting value from external assets to internal contentment), (2) Emotional Immunity (providing stable internal gratification against Dopamine driven cycles), and (3) Behavioral Regulation (strengthening inhibitory control). The study concludes that integrating the normative framework of qana‘ah serves as a robust spiritual coping mechanism, enhancing psychological resilience and restoring cognitive focus (khusyu’) essential for digital well being among Gen Z.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the digital activities of Generation Z Quran memorizers and their influence on religious internality in the social media era through the perspective of the hadith of the Prophet Muhammad SAW. Generation Z as digital natives live in two spaces at once: Islamic boarding schools that demand spiritual tranquility and a fast, interactive, and distraction-filled digital space. The study uses a qualitative phenomenological approach with data collection through observation and in-depth interviews with tahfiz students aged 15–25 years. The results show that digital activities have a dual impact: expanding religious literacy and memorization motivation, but also triggering distraction, decreasing focus on murojaah, and disrupting the solemnity of worship. Religious internality, which includes sincerity, trustworthiness, commitment to worship, and self-control, plays an important role in maintaining the spiritual stability of students. The hadith regarding the Prophet's uswah ḥasanah has proven to be a guideline for media ethics, especially in verifying information, guarding speech, and displaying Quranic morals in the digital space. This research confirms that digital technology is not only a challenge, but can be a means of forming religious identity if managed based on prophetic values.

Abstract

Women’s leadership in Indonesian politics continues to develop and remains a subject of debate, particularly concerning the interpretation of the hadith narrated by an-Nasa’i No. 5293, which is often used as a basis to restrict women’s roles in leadership. This study aims to analyze women’s political leadership from an Islamic perspective by examining Surah An-Nur verse 55 and the hadith of an-Nasa’i No. 5293, and by connecting these texts with the contemporary reality of women leaders in Indonesia. This research employs a library research method, drawing upon various sources such as tafsir works, hadith collections, books, academic journals, and political regulations in Indonesia. The findings reveal that the hadith possesses a specific historical context namely the unstable political situation in Persia when the daughter of Kisra was appointed ruler. Therefore, the hadith cannot be applied universally to all circumstances and eras. In the modern context, particularly within Indonesia’s democratic system in which authority is distributed among multiple state institutions, women have legitimate opportunities to assume leadership roles. This is supported by the success of several female leaders such as Megawati Soekarnoputri, Khofifah Indar Parawansa, and Tri Rismaharini, who have demonstrated their capabilities in holding strategic public positions. Additionally, national regulations concerning women’s political representation further illustrate the state’s support for women’s participation in governance. Thus, women’s political leadership in Indonesia aligns with the Islamic principle of maslahah, which emphasizes public welfare and justice as foundations of leadership.

Abstract

Strategy formulation is an important component of strategic management that serves to direct Islamic educational institutions in achieving long-term goals effectively and sustainably. This study aims to describe the concept of strategy formulation in Islamic education planning by examining Fred R. David's strategic management framework, which includes the formulation of vision and mission, analysis of the internal and external environment through the SWOT approach, determination of long-term goals based on SMART principles, and strategy selection through the Quantitative Strategic Planning Matrix (QSPM). This research emphasizes three technical stages of strategy formulation, namely the input stage, the Stage Matching and the Decision Stage, which allows strategic decision-making to be carried out systematically, objectively, and measurably. The results of the analysis show that the formulation of the strategy not only clarifies the direction of education policy, but also increases the effectiveness of governance, competitiveness, and adaptability of Islamic educational institutions to environmental changes. The integration of Islamic values in the strategy formulation process also strengthens the character of the institution, so that the resulting strategy is not only managerial, but also reflects moral and spiritual principles. Thus, strategy formulation is an important instrument in realizing Islamic educational institutions that are superior, responsive, and oriented towards sustainable quality improvement.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the relationship between strategic planning, education quality assurance, and institutional performance. This study uses a qualitative research method with a descriptive approach through a literature study. Data was obtained from scientific journals, books, and relevant literature that discuss the concept of strategic planning, quality assurance systems, and performance management of educational institutions. The results of the study show that strategic planning plays an important role in determining the direction, goals, and priorities of quality programs that are the basis for the implementation of quality education. Meanwhile, quality assurance functions as an evaluative mechanism that ensures that the institution's strategy is implemented consistently through the PPEPP (Determination, Implementation, Evaluation, Control, and Improvement) cycle. The integration between the two has been proven to be able to improve management effectiveness, learning quality, and institutional accountability. Therefore, the integration of strategic planning and quality assurance is a key factor in creating superior, sustainable, and adaptive institutional performance to change.

Abstract

This research aims to analyze the role of Generation Z in maintaining ecological balance through understanding the hadith of nature conservation, ecological awareness, and environmentally friendly behavior practices. This study uses a qualitative approach with the type of field research. The data was obtained through in-depth interviews with Generation Z students at Maulana Malik Ibrahim State Islamic University Malang, which were analyzed in a descriptive-interpretive manner. The results of the study show that students' understanding of the hadith on nature conservation is at the substantive-normative level, although it has not been structured textually and methodologically. Hadith about planting trees, maintaining cleanliness, and excessive prohibition in the use of resources are understood as the basis for environmental ethics with religious nuances. This understanding contributes to forming an ecological consciousness that views environmental preservation as part of religious responsibility. This awareness encourages the practice of environmentally friendly behavior, both individually and collectively in the campus environment, although its consistency is still influenced by structural factors and consumption culture. This study concludes that hadith understanding, ecological awareness, and environmentally friendly behavior form interrelated relationships and need to be strengthened through contextual religious education and environmentally oriented campus policies.

Abstract

This study aims to examine in depth the concepts and basic principles of the balance scorecard relevant to Islamic education management, the stages and perspectives of the balance scorecard that can be applied in Islamic education planning, and the advantages and disadvantages of the balance scorecard in Islamic education strategy planning. It uses a qualitative approach with a library research method. Abstract

This journal aims to describe strategic management and strategic planning in Islamic education, analyze Islamic perspectives on such planning, and identify challenges in its implementation, in order to help educational institutions face the dynamics of globalization. The method used is a descriptive-qualitative literature study through literature analysis, mapping of concepts such as vision-mission, SWOT analysis, strategy formulation, implementation, evaluation, and review of Quranic verses (QS. Al-Anfal: 60) and hadith about leadership responsibilities. The results of the study show that strategic management includes a continuous process for the adaptation of institutions with Islamic values, strategic planning functions as an efficient and holistic 3-5-year Strategic Plan guideline, but the main challenges include limited human resources, visionary leadership, resistance to change, minimal funds, and external influences such as globalization, so that it is necessary to improve competencies and routine evaluations for the sustainability of Quranic education.

Abstract

The Hadith Qudsi, conveying Allah’s words through the Prophet Muhammad, is a unique source of Islamic guidance emphasizing infaq (spending in the way of Allah). This study examines fundamental qudsi hadiths, including the fifth hadith: “O My servants, spend, and I shall spend on you,” alongside others that encourage generosity, prohibit hoarding, and affirm Allah’s ownership of sustenance. Through a qualitative literature review, the research explores theological (trust in sustenance, divine ownership, promised reward), ethical (sincerity, empathy, self-restraint), and social dimensions (wealth distribution, solidarity, and sustainable development). The findings highlight the continuing relevance of infaq in addressing modern challenges, positioning it as a pillar of Islamic philanthropy and a means to achieve Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) such as poverty eradication (SDG 1), food security (SDG 2), and quality education (SDG 4). Moreover, it underscores the adaptation of infaq within the digital economy as an effective tool for crisis response and community empowerment. Ultimately, infaq is presented as a holistic, transformative act of worship that integrates spiritual and social values, fostering justice, compassion, and sustainability in contemporary society.
