Abstract

Islamic education planning is a strategic process aimed at directing educational implementation in accordance with Islamic values and responding to contemporary challenges. This article analyzes the concept of strategy in Islamic education planning, including the basic concept of strategy, stages of implementation, factors influencing strategic application, and challenges in its implementation. This study employs a qualitative approach using a library research method by reviewing relevant literature such as books, scholarly journals, and academic works. The analysis shows that strategy in Islamic education planning is a comprehensive framework that links educational goals with operational actions. The strategic stages include analyzing the institution’s current conditions, determining strategic directions and objectives, and formulating implementation steps accompanied by monitoring and evaluation. The success of strategy implementation is influenced by internal factors, such as the quality of human resources, organizational culture and structure, and facilities, as well as external factors, including socio-cultural changes, technological developments, government policies, and stakeholder support. In addition, the implementation of strategic planning in Islamic education faces challenges such as resistance to change, limited resources, environmental complexity, weak leadership, and difficulties in performance evaluation. Therefore, adaptive and sustainable strategic planning is essential to achieve the goals of Islamic education optimally.

Abstract

Strategic planning is a crucial element in managing educational institutions to ensure the achievement of institutional vision, mission, and goals in a sustainable manner. This study aims to examine the role and contribution of the Internal Factor Evaluation (IFE) and External Factor Evaluation (EFE) methods as strategic analysis instruments in educational strategic planning, particularly in Islamic education. This research employed a qualitative approach using a library research method. Data were collected from various academic sources, including strategic management and education textbooks, scholarly journal articles, and relevant academic documents. Data analysis was conducted using descriptive qualitative analysis and content analysis through the processes of categorizing, comparing, and synthesizing information to address the research questions. The findings indicate that the IFE method is effective in identifying internal strengths and weaknesses of educational institutions, while the EFE method plays a significant role in analyzing external opportunities and threats. The integration of IFE and EFE provides an objective and measurable basis for determining an institution’s strategic position and formulating development, maintenance, or improvement strategies. Therefore, IFE and EFE serve as essential foundations for adaptive, contextual, and quality-oriented strategic decision-making in Islamic education.

Abstract

The development of social media, particularly TikTok, has opened up new spaces for Muslim teenagers to express their identity and religious experiences in the digital public sphere. One notable phenomenon is the emergence of dating content framed as a “gift” through narratives of gratitude and religious symbols. This study aims to analyze how Muslim teenagers on TikTok frame dating relationships as a blessing, the religious rhetorical strategies used to build self-legitimacy, and the role of the audience in strengthening collective justification. This study uses a qualitative approach with content analysis and framing analysis of five TikTok content selected purposively. Data in the form of videos, captions, and audience comments were analyzed using framing, semiotics, and rhetoric techniques. The results show that dating is framed as a source of happiness, emotional support, and practical benefits that are worthy of gratitude, thus shifting the meaning of gratitude from normative obedience to personal emotional satisfaction. Expressions of gratitude function as symbolic legitimization of dating practices, while audience interactions through prayers and religious affirmations collectively reinforce the normalization of this meaning. These findings indicate the dynamics of digital religiosity among Muslim youth, characterized by the blurring of boundaries between sacred values and profane practices on social media.

Abstract

Early marriage in Indonesia creates tension between positive law (Law No. 16 of 2019) and the theological legitimacy believed by some communities, which rests upon a textual understanding of the hadith regarding Aisyah's marriage. This study aims to analyze the paradigm shift in hadith interpretation from a textual to a contextual approach and evaluate its relevance to state policies and Islamic family education management. The method utilized is qualitative library research with a contemporary Ma'anil Hadis and Maqashid al-Shariah approach. The findings indicate a significant shift: from determining maturity based on bulugh (biological signs) towards emphasizing Substantive Maturity (rusyd). The hadith concerning ba'ah (ability) is reinterpreted as a multidimensional competence, including mental, emotional, and managerial readiness. Juridically, state policies, such as providing marriage deferral incentives, gain syar'i legitimacy as they represent the Ulil Amri's efforts to prevent madharat (harm) and preserve hifz al-nasl (family resilience). In conclusion, the contextual understanding of hadith aligns with the objectives of Shariah and provides a theoretical foundation for Islamic Education Management to develop a pre-marital education curriculum based on holistic maturity.

Abstract

Muhammad Abduh was one of Egypt's most influential Islamic reformers. He was not only a great scholar, but also a renowned writer, a successful educator, and a reformer of modern Egypt. His contribution to Islamic thought. One of Abduh's most important contributions was his contribution to the development of a new educational system in Egypt and other Islamic countries. He realized that education was the key to freeing Muslims from the shackles of stagnation and backwardness. Therefore, he encouraged the establishment of educational institutions that taught not only religious knowledge, but also general knowledge and practical skills. In this study using library methods, the formulation of the problem in this study is 1) How is the Life History of Muhammad Abduh? 2) How are Muhammad Abduh's Ideas Related to Anti Staticism, Rationalism, and Educational Reform? The results of this study are that Abduh succeeded in awakening the spirit of reform in education in the Islamic world. He emphasized the importance of education based on reason and experience, and encouraged Muslims not only to be trapped in dogma, but also to develop critical thinking.

Abstract

Marriage is a fundamental institution in Islam that not only functions as a legal bond between a man and a woman, but also as a means of maintaining social order and realizing the objectives of sharia (maqāṣid al-syarī‘ah). In the Islamic fiqh tradition, marriage law has been studied in depth by classical jurists from various schools of thought, resulting in a variety of legal views based on the istinbāṭ methodology used. This study aims to analyze the views of classical jurists from the Hanafi, Maliki, Shafi‘i, and Hanbali schools of thought regarding marriage law in Islam, identify similarities and differences in views between schools regarding fundamental aspects of marriage, and examine the methodological basis behind these differences. The research method used is normative legal research with a conceptual and comparative approach, through a review of classical fiqh literature and works on ushul fiqh. The results of this study indicate that despite similarities in views between schools of thought regarding the objectives and basic principles of marriage, there are significant differences in the pillars and requirements of marriage, the role of guardians, witnesses, and the legal consequences of marriage, influenced by differences in legal sources, methods of reasoning, and the use of qiyās, istihsān, and maslahah. This study confirms that the differing views of classical jurists constitute a rich treasure trove of Islamic law relevant to serve as a reference in the development of contemporary Islamic marriage law.

Abstract

This paper poses a central question how can the concept of ḥayā’ in the prophetic traditions be employed to interpret and critique the phenomenon of Gen Z self-presentation on social media, which is increasingly shaped by algorithms, performative culture, and the need for public validation The problem emerges from the growing trends of oversharing, exaggerated bodily display, and the pursuit of digital identity developments that often blur the line between authentic self-expression and visual exhibitionism. The novelty of this study lies in its integrative approach, connecting two domains seldom brought into direct dialogue namely, the moral ethics of classical ḥadīth and the psychosocial dynamics of digital life by positioning ḥayā’ as a framework of self-regulation.

Abstract

This article examines hermeneutic epistemology in the reform of Islamic family law through an examination of Fazlur Rahman's thoughts. This study is motivated by the need for a methodological approach capable of bridging the tension between the normative text of the Qur'an and contemporary social dynamics in Islamic family law. This study aims to analyze the epistemological foundation of Fazlur Rahman's hermeneutics, explain the construction of the double movement method, and examine its implications for the reform of Islamic family law. This study uses a qualitative method based on literature studies with a philosophical-hermeneutic approach. Data were obtained from Fazlur Rahman's main works as primary sources and relevant scientific literature as secondary sources, which were analyzed using descriptive-conceptual, hermeneutic-philosophical, and critical-reflective techniques. The results show that Fazlur Rahman's hermeneutic epistemology positions the Qur'an as a source of universal moral values ​​that must be understood through the historical context of revelation and reactualized in a modern social context. The double movement method allows for a more substantive, contextual, and justice-oriented reconstruction of Islamic family law, particularly in issues of gender relations, marriage, and the protection of family rights. These findings confirm that Fazlur Rahman's thinking has made a significant contribution to the development of a methodology for reforming Islamic family law that is responsive to changing times without abandoning its normative foundation.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the role of religion in fostering tolerance and social harmony within the diverse community of Morotai Island Regency, North Maluku. Employing a descriptive qualitative approach, the research was conducted through in-depth interviews, participatory observation, and document analysis involving religious leaders, educators, and interfaith communities. The findings reveal that religion functions not only as a system of spiritual belief but also as a social instrument that strengthens solidarity and social cohesion in a plural society. Religious practices in Morotai reflect a living form of “social religion,” where religious values are integrated with local wisdom such as pela gandong, deliberation, and mutual cooperation. Furthermore, education, media, and the role of religious figures are identified as key factors in reinforcing the social ecology of tolerance. The study concludes that harmony in Morotai is not accidental but a social construct rooted in inclusive religious values and sustained communal practices.

Abstract

Marriage in Islam is a sacred institution that is seen as worship to form a sakinah family and preserve offspring (tanāsul). However, there is a striking gap between the noble goal of having offspring and the social reality in which some parents commit the murder of biological children. This phenomenon is often triggered by economic factors or poverty (imlaq) and the mental unpreparedness of young couples in dealing with domestic problems. This study explores in depth the prohibition of killing children due to poverty by synergizing Islamic authoritative sources (Qur'an, Hadith, and Fiqh) with a positive legal framework in Indonesia, and analyzes its relevance to the minimum age of marriage policy. The mental readiness of married couples is the main key in maintaining the value of maqāṣid al-syarī'ah, which is the protection of the soul (ḥifẓ al-nafs). This study concludes that strengthening premarital education and limiting early marriage dispensation is not only a matter of administrative fulfillment, but also a theological and juridical preventive effort to ensure that the purpose of marriage to have children does not end in a humanitarian tragedy. Thus, the harmonization between religious understanding of sustenance and the firmness of positive law is a vital instrument in protecting children's right to life in Indonesia.
