Journal of Society, Community and Business Development (SCBD) is a national journal managed and published by Economics and Business Faculty Universitas Muhammadiyah Purwokerto, two times/twice a year (April and October). This journal contains scientific articles of community service in the field of social, education, economics, business and management topics. It would be published first in 2023 using Open Journal System. All manuscripts must not been published in other journal, and it will be reviewed by the double-blind method by our selective reviewer. Abstract

Indonesia is one of the countries sending migrant workers to Malaysia. The economic situation is one of the reasons they want to improve their lives when they work in that country. However, they experienced many problems when they returned to Indonesia. Lack of opportunity to work in Indonesia and lack of preparation in doing business is one of the problems when returning to Indonesia. In the digital era, doing business does not have to be with large capital, as long as there is assistance and building a clear network that can help develop a business. This community service aims to make the Indonesian migrant workers in Kuala Lumpur who take part in this community service have insight into digital marketing and build business networks. The method in this service is face-to-face and delivery of material by academics from the Muhammadiyah University of Purwokerto.

Abstract

Organic waste in Karangklesem village, Kutasari, has not been utilized optimally so that it has economic value. Utilization of the most possible and low cost is by making compost. PCPM Karangklesem Kutasari Purbalingga took the initiative to take advantage of this potential by utilizing the potential of Pemuda Muhammadiyah members to make it economically valuable and beneficial for individuals and organizations. For the compost production process and its marketing, PCPM Karangklesem Kutasari Purbalingga does not yet have human resources who are experts in producing compost fertilizer, so this is a significant obstacle. By looking at the existing problems, it is necessary to increase the abilities and skills of Pemuda Muhammadiyah of the Karangklesem Kutasari Purbalingga in managing organic waste through Training on Making and Marketing of Compost Fertilizer so that it can become an economic resource for individuals and organizations. Abstract

Villages are the leading government agents for economic development. The village becomes a government representative who deals directly with the community. The central government mandates village governments to independently utilize the potential resources in their areas. One of them is through village-level economic institutions, namely Village-Owned Enterprises. BUMDES was born as a new approach to improve the village economy based on the needs and potential of the village. The birth of Law Number 32 of 2004 concerning Regional Government, has encouraged villages to develop Village-Owned Enterprises (BUMDes) in accordance with the needs and potentials of each village in order to increase community income and original village income. This Community Service activity was carried out in Lapodi Village, South Buton Regency Overall, this community service activity was carried out on December 20, 2022. The activity partner is BUMDes Desa Lapodi. This activity is carried out in two stages, namely preparation and socialization. The existence or position of BUMDes is considered very effective in exploring the local potential of the village. BUMDes offer great potential because of the existence of mutually sustainable village regulations. BUMDes are also a place to explore the potential of local villages. Therefore, the existence of BUMDes is very urgent to achieve the goal of a prosperous independent village. Therefore, the most appropriate preparations are focused on socialization, education and training of interested parties to improve the standard of living of rural communities. Thus, the existence of BUMDes aims to encourage the dynamics of economic life in rural areas. The role of the village government is to build relationships with the community to achieve the fulfillment of Minimum Service Standards (SPM) as part of efforts to build a stronger village community (development-based community). Based on the results of the study, it is known that BUMDes are an internal forum Exploring local potential is very important. In the realization stage, the establishment and development of BUMDes need further attention from the government. Therefore, it is necessary to revitalize BUMDes to facilitate and protect the formation of business units in order to strengthen capacity.

Abstract

Indonesia is known as a country that has thousands of tourist destinations. No wonder this makes the tourism sector one of the main foreign exchange contributors for Indonesia. Apart from being a source of foreign exchange, tourism also plays a major role in the economic, social, entrepreneurial and cultural fields. The covid 19 pandemic that has hit the world including Indonesia in recent years has an impact on the amount of income in the tourism sector. Some of the problems faced in the management of tourist attractions in Lawela Selatan Village are: 1) the number of tourists visiting the tourist attraction is still relatively small and only comes from the neighborhood around the village due to the lack of marketing carried out by the manager of the tourist attraction, 2) Not all target partners understand about online marketing strategy management, 3) not all target partners are technology literate and able to maximize information technology so that the promotion carried out is still minimal, 4) The amount of content through social media is still limited, so the marketing reach is not too broad, 5) Kaburaburana tourist attraction does not yet have its own website to introduce its destination to the wider community. This activity was carried out in two stages, namely preparation and socialization. The implementation of PkM activities went smoothly in accordance with the expected objectives. As many as 83% of participants have a good understanding of online marketing strategies to increase the number of visitors to tourist attractions.

Abstract

The Indonesian nation, including Muslim women's movements such as Aisyiyah, is faced with the challenges of very complex problems and dynamics of social change. For example, the problem of poverty, and violence against women and children. There are several obstacles for women in increasing their business, including not understanding the business plan in doing business. As we know today technology continues to develop and telecommunications are increasingly innovating. With advances in the field of information and communication technology today, the world no longer knows boundaries, distance, space and time. The internet has had a great impact because it created a new paradigm in entrepreneurship and business. Community Service Activities the Science and Technology Program for the Community with the title "Optimizing Business Plans in Creating Creativity for Home Business Actors in Aisyiyah Members" in Banyumas Regency has been carried out smoothly and well. The participants of the socialization were able to receive the socialization that was delivered well, was active and as expected. There is interest from participants to know more so that later it is hoped that it will increase the creativity and understanding of participants in doing business.

Abstract

This research aims to foster the entrepreneurial spirit of homemakers from fishermen's wives in Friwen Village. It is intended to increase family income by innovating and being creative in utilizing local wisdom owned by the village. The methods used in community development are counseling, training, and mentoring. This training involved 30 homemakers and housewives divided into six groups. After counseling and training on another day, evaluating the results of previous counseling and training is helpful. The results of this counseling and training were that the participants gained knowledge and skills in making fish crackers. In addition, there is awareness of the training participants in entrepreneurship by utilizing marine products to increase income, which impacts increasing family welfare. This service value can be developed into a home industry if intensive assistance is carried out with various community development programs.

Abstract

Small businesses have grown rapidly, but that does not mean without obstacles. The growth and development of small businesses can improve an independent economy, but it needs to be supported by the mentality and character of an entrepreneur. Business owners must be able to carry out good management in various economic conditions that are full of uncertainties. Perseverance and mental toughness as well as a positive mindset play an important role in being able to develop strategies to compete and survive, as well as to develop even better. Good planning is done so that an entrepreneur more structured in the process of starting or developing a business, as well as more measurable expectations take action to minimize losses. The target of this activity is Aisyiyah entrepreneur in the Banyumas area. The method used, with providing business development training to participants, builds character and mentality by applying entrepreneurial mind mapping. Business owners have the ability to find solutions to every problem with the right strategy. it is hoped that by having a positive character and mentality, make a mind map in developing business strategies that can improve and develop Aisyiyah's small businesses in the Banyumas area. Abstract

This activity aims to increase the entrepreneurial spirit of PD NA and Nasyiatul Aisyiyah members, and increase the added value of coconut shell waste into briquettes. This activity was carried out by PD and members of Nasyiatul Aisyiyah. The activity method uses an approach; 1) Entrepreneurship training with Achievement Motivation Training material, basics of entrepreneurship, business communication and marketing, 2) practice of making briquettes, 3) marketing assistance. The conclusion from this activity is that AMT training materials need to be developed further, because changing a person's mentality (mindset) to become an entrepreneur requires a process. Shell charcoal has the potential to be developed and the raw material for briquettes can be organic material, such as organic waste. Keywords: PD NA, coconut shell briquettes

Abstract

Abstract The propensity to select a college major is largely influenced by personal interests and skills. This is so that each person can concentrate on the activities that suit their interests and skills. However, due to a variety of internal and external variables, upper secondary students frequently struggle with the decision of what major to pursue. This will affect how well the major chosen and the person's fundamental interests and abilities mesh. Therefore, further research is required so that students can take this into account while selecting their college major. The outcomes of community service show that a person's interests and skills might affect the college major choice.

Abstract

Gunung Jaya Village, Salem District, there is a Joint Business Group (KUB) "Lulumpang". Previously, the Lulumpang KUB in Gunung Jaya Village, Salem Subdistrict, Brebes Regency carried out the process of peeling cherry coffee manually using mortar and pestle. This process is time-consuming and labor-intensive, resulting in many broken beans. In addition, stripping the dry skin is also still with lumpang-alu, of course this is very time consuming and hampers the production process. "Lulumpang" also does not have an adequate drying room and drying equipment, so if there is an abundance of harvest, they are overwhelmed. Based on some of the problems faced by KUB Lulumpang as a partner, the pengabdi will handle through 3 stages of service that will be carried out in 3 years, namely year 1 focusing on cultivation and post-harvest technology. In this first year, the service program has been carried out in the form of handling post-harvest technology through training and grants of wet skin peeling tools, namely pulper. In the 2nd year, this service focuses on increasing the production and quality of raosted beans. After the General Soedirman University service team conducted counseling and workshops, the roasted bean production capacity increased 5X and group members increasingly understood the importance of quality control and procedures for saving failed products.
