Abstract

The use of drugs in Indonesia continues to rise, with many offenders coming from the younger population. Drug abuse among adolescents is a serious issue that can threaten the future of young generations as well as the social stability of society. Kabinuang Village in Dampal Utara District also faces this risk, making planned and sustainable preventive efforts necessary. The aim of this legal outreach activity is to enhance adolescents’ knowledge, awareness, and understanding of the dangers of drugs, applicable laws, and early prevention methods. This program is implemented through interactive lectures, group discussions, and Q&A sessions involving police officers and teachers. The results of this activity indicate an increase in adolescents’ understanding of the legal and social impacts of drug abuse, along with a shared commitment to protect the village from drug trafficking. Therefore, this legal outreach is expected to serve as an effective preventive measure to shield adolescents from the negative influence of drugs and strengthen social cohesion in Kabinuang Village.

Abstract

Financial literacy education from an early age is a strategic step in shaping children’s character, discipline, and independence. This community service program was implemented at SDN Kabinuang with a focus on fostering a saving culture among elementary school students through simple, practical, and engaging approaches. The implementation methods included interactive material delivery, discussions, and hands-on saving practices using a class piggy bank managed collectively. Teachers played the role of facilitators who motivated students, while parents contributed by encouraging children to bring savings money every day. The results of the program indicated a significant improvement in students’ understanding and habits in managing pocket money. Most students were able to set aside a portion of their allowance for savings and demonstrated more controlled spending behavior. Moreover, the program instilled social values such as cooperation, solidarity, and mutual care among peers. Therefore, the saving program at an early age proved to be effective not only in building financial awareness but also in shaping positive character development beneficial for students’ future.

Abstract

This community service activity aims to increase the interest of 5th and 6th grade students at SDN Kabinuang, Dampal Utara, in learning English through tutoring that focuses on vocabulary mastery. The background of the problem shows a low interest in learning English among students, which is largely due to a lack of understanding of basic vocabulary and a lack of variety in learning methods. Therefore, this tutoring approach was designed to overcome these challenges in a more interactive and enjoyable way. The methods used in this activity included direct delivery of material, educational games, and quizzes specifically designed to enrich students' vocabulary. The results of this activity show a significant increase in student enthusiasm and participation in each learning session. Students not only demonstrate a better understanding of new vocabulary, but are also more motivated to actively communicate in English. The conclusion of this community service is that tutoring that focuses on vocabulary is an effective strategy for fostering interest in learning English among elementary school students. Recommendations for the future include the need for similar programs to be continued with longer durations and more diverse materials for significant result.

Abstract

Literacy skills, especially reading, are a crucial foundation for successful learning in elementary schools. However, low reading interest remains a challenge, including at SDN Kabinuang, where most third-grade students prefer playing over reading. To address this issue, a literacy program was implemented using varied teaching media, including an educational film on anti-bullying, word search activities, and word puzzles. The program took place on July 25, 2025, at SDN Kabinuang, Dampal Utara District, Tolitoli Regency. The film provided a visual understanding of bullying issues, while the word search and puzzles trained concentration, logical thinking, and vocabulary enrichment. The results indicated increased student participation, learning enthusiasm, and positive attitudes toward reading. The use of varied media proved effective in creating an interactive and enjoyable learning environment while instilling positive moral values. This program aligns with the National Literacy Movement and is expected to serve as a model for effective literacy implementation in elementary schools to develop intelligent, critical, and competitive young generations in the information era.

Abstract

This community service program aims to develop students' creative potential through ecoprint craft training at MTs DDI Salumbia, improve life skills, and foster environmental awareness based on the use of environmentally friendly natural materials. This activity was motivated by the limited learning of practical skills that integrate elements of art, creativity, and environmental awareness at the madrasah level. The method used was a qualitative descriptive approach with data collection techniques through observation, interviews, and documentation. Participants consisted of eighth-grade students selected based on their interests and passion for handicrafts. The training was carried out through stages of introducing the ecoprint concept, selecting and processing natural materials, the motif printing process, and evaluating the work. The training results showed that students were able to process natural materials such as leaves and flowers into ecoprint works that have aesthetic and functional value. In addition, this activity was proven to improve creative thinking skills, fine motor skills, cooperation, and students' awareness of the importance of environmental conservation. Ecoprint training also serves as a learning medium based on life skills and has the potential to be developed into school entrepreneurship activities. Thus, this program can be an innovative educational alternative in shaping the character of madrasa students to be creative, productive, and environmentally aware.

Abstract

Anutapura I, II, and III Integrated Health Posts (Posyandu) in Dongko Village still use a manual recording system. This creates several problems, such as long service times, long queues, and the risk of data loss. The community service activity aims to implement the digitization of application-based Posyandu services with a data backup system. Through training and mentoring, it is hoped that Posyandu cadres will be able to use the application for fast, accurate, and transparent data recording, thereby improving service quality and better serving the community. The implementation method includes initial observation, socialization, application training, implementation in routine Posyandu activities, and ongoing evaluation and mentoring. The results of the activity show significant improvements: recording times that previously took hours can be completed in minutes, queues are drastically reduced, and data is stored more securely and easily accessed in real time. Thus, the digitization of Posyandu services has proven to be an effective solution to the problems of manual recording that have been faced.

Abstract

This community service activity aims to improve the basic English skills of children in Dongko Village through an interactive learning method that combines elements of educational games, physical activity (movement), and image visualization. The identified problem was the children's low interest and understanding of English, which has been taught conventionally and less enjoyable. The implementation method was a participatory approach based on direct practice in study groups. The activity was carried out for three weeks with a series of programs ranging from introducing basic vocabulary (colors, animals, numbers), pronunciation practice, to reinforcement activities through educational games and song movements. The results of the community service showed a significant increase in vocabulary understanding, pronunciation, and active participation of children during the learning process. Children became more enthusiastic, confident, and able to apply vocabulary in simple contexts. Furthermore, the interactive approach encouraged the creation of a fun and inclusive learning atmosphere, thereby minimizing boredom and increasing learning effectiveness. Overall, this activity contributed to strengthening language literacy at the elementary level and was in line with the Freedom to Learn policy and Presidential Regulation Number 87 of 2017 concerning Strengthening Character Education. It is hoped that this learning model can be adopted by schools or other learning communities as an alternative strategy to improve the basic English skills of children in rural areas.

Abstract

Education in Indonesia continues to develop, but still faces serious challenges, particularly low literacy rates among elementary school students. International data such as PISA 2019 shows that Indonesia's reading scores are at the bottom of the rankings, which is reinforced by other literacy surveys. Low reading interest and basic reading skills have a direct impact on learning success and the quality of national education. This community service aims to improve the literacy skills of elementary school students through a literacy tutoring program implemented in Bambapun Village, specifically for students of SDN 1 and SDN 3 Bambapun. The method used was tutoring with an individual, creative, and systematic approach. The program was carried out for one week with three meetings held after Maghrib prayers at the Bambapun village KKN post, using simple facilities in the form of a room and student reading books. The results showed a significant improvement in students' reading skills, both in terms of technical aspects, fluency, and reading comprehension. In addition, there was an increase in students' motivation and interest in reading, which was reinforced by the support of parents and teachers. Thus, the literacy tutoring program proved to be effective in reducing reading difficulties and can be used as an alternative strategy to improve the quality of basic education in Indonesia.

Abstract

This community service activity aims to revitalize the potential of the red shrimp tourist attraction in Salumbia Village, which has experienced a significant decline in visitors due to a lack of promotion and supporting facilities or infrastructure. Adopting a participatory approach, the program focuses on improving community welfare by developing comprehensive infrastructure and tourist signage. Implementation methods included field surveys to identify urgent needs, community workshops to design signs and facilities, and the construction of new infrastructure, such as access bridges and rest areas. The results of this activity demonstrated a significant increase in the destination's attractiveness, reflected in increased visits and local economic activity. The newly designed signage serves not only as a directional sign but also as an educational and promotional tool, reinforcing Salumbia Village's identity as a red shrimp tourist destination. The program concludes that community-based tourism revitalization, supported by appropriate infrastructure interventions, can be an effective strategy for improving economic well-being, environmental sustainability, and strengthening community ownership of a place's local potential.
