Abstract

Newcastle Disease (ND) is a highly contagious disease with a high mortality rate, showing clinical symptoms such as loss of appetite, lethargy, and diarrhea. Viral diseases are generally accompanied by a secondary infection, namely parasites. Toxicosis is a parasitic disease that causes problems and losses to chicken farms, and attacks the digestive tract in chickens. Therefore, it is necessary to conduct an examination in each laboratory to get a definitive diagnosis. In this case study, the methods of anatomical pathology examination, hispathology preparation, HA-HI examination, bacterial identification, and stool examination were used qualitatively. The results of the anatomical pathology examination found pathonomic lesions, namely ptekie in the ventricles and proventricles, hemorrhagic lungs, multifocal ulcers and ptekies in the intestines, spleen hemorrhage, renal hemoragi.

Abstract

Flooding is one of the most common disasters in Bandung Regency and has become an annual event during the rainy season. Areas in Bandung Regency where flooding often occurs every year are in Dayeuhkolot District, Baleendah District, and Bojongsoang District. This includes Citeureup Village in Dayeuhkolot Sub-district. Lack of preparedness in the face of disaster is one of the causes of the high impact of damage or loss after a disaster. Thus, optimal disaster mitigation is needed in cases where the community has a low level of preparedness, so that efforts to reduce disaster risk increase. The purpose of this study was to determine whether there is a relationship between mitigation and community preparedness attitudes in facing flood disasters in Citeureup Village, Dayeuhkolot District.  This research uses quantitative methods with correlational research design. The sampling technique is using Cluster Random Sampling with a sample size of 67 respondents. Data analysis using Pearson's correlation using JASP software. The results obtained are the correlation coefficient obtained with an r value of 0.696 with a p-value of 0.001, then H0 is rejected and H1 is accepted which shows a significant relationship between disaster mitigation and community preparedness attitudes in the face of flood disasters. The shape of the relationship between these two variables is positive, meaning that the more

Abstract

Anestrus is the main cause of prolongation of birth intervals, thus reducing the productivity of beef cattle. This study aims to determine the effect of giving gliricidia leaf block on the emergence and sensitivity of estrus in balinese cattle experiencing postpartum anestrus. This research method is in the form of balinese cattle anestrus postpartum which were selected as many as 6 cattle. The results of this study showed that giving gliricidia leaves for 14 days and estrus checking for 28 days did not produce significant changes in color, swelling, or mucus in the cattle's vulva observed during the observation period P0 to P4. The average temperature of the vulva also did not experience a significant increase from P0 to P4. There were no significant changes in the riding parameters of companions during the same observation period. Giving gliricidia leaf block for 14 days and checking estrus for 28 days did not have a significant effect on the estrus sensitivity of balinese cattle with postpartum anestrus. Further research should be done on giving gliricidia leaves to increase estrus in balinese cattle with postpartum anestrus.

Abstract

With the Minister of Health Regulation Number 24 of 2022 concerning medical records which emphasizes more authority for the government to regulate electronic medical records. Sumedang Regional Hospital implements these regulations, therefore researchers are interested in examining nurses' perceptions about digital-based nursing care documentation. The aim of this research is to find out nurses' perceptions regarding digital-based nursing care documentation. The research method used is a qualitative approach with interview data collection techniques recorded on a cellphone. The result of this research is that digital-based documentation of nursing care becomes a burden for nurses. The nurse stated that digital-based documentation of nursing care has advantages and disadvantages that are felt by nurses. The advantages felt by nurses are that they are faster and more effective, while the disadvantages felt by nurses are network disruption and system errors which will hinder work, even during the transition period nurses find it difficult and adaptation takes time. The conclusion of this research is that nurses are burdened with documenting digital-based nursing care because they are confused and clumsy when operating the system. This is also caused by several factors, including age that is no longer young, because of a lack of knowledge about technology or technology failure, because it is new. This is the first time using digital-based nursing care. It would be better if digital skills literacy training among hospital employees, especially nurses, needs to be further improved by attending or holding webinars related to documenting digital nursing care.

Data collection in the form of indications, anamnesis, epidemiological and laboratory examinations for further descriptive qualitative analysis. Clinical signs of pig include anorexia, weakness, diarrhea, fever (39.7oC), multifocal cyanosis of skin, severe neurological symptoms. Epidemiological data shows morbidity reaching 100%, mortality 78.94%, and case fatality rate 78.94%. An anatomical pathology examination was carried out through necropsy procedure and found hydropericardium, hemorrhage in the heart, brain, intestines, stomach, lungs, liver, kidneys had pthechie, while spleen changed color to dark and swollen, organ samples were collected for histopathology examination. Histopathological examination begins with histological preparations using Hematoxylin-Eosin (HE) staining. Examination were carried out by looking at the changes descriptively using binocular light microscope with 100x, 400x magnification. Histopathological examination showed that the brain (hemorrhagic meningitis), lungs (hemorrhagic interstitial pneumonia), heart (myocardial edematous), spleen (hemorrhagic spleen) and small intestine (necrotizing enteritis), large intestine (hemorrhagic et necrotizing colitis). In histology preparations, inflammation was found and dominated by lymphocyte cells and a few neutrophil cells. In bacteriological examination, Samples were isolated using Nutrient Agar, Blood Agar media. Bacterial identification then carried out using the Gram stain test, catalase test, Triple Sugar Iron Agar, Sulfide Indole Motility, Methyl Red Voges Proskauer, Simmon Citrate Agar, glucose test. Bacteriological examination confirmed the presence of Streptococcus suis bacterial infection in the brain, lungs, spleen. Parasitological examination of feces was carried out using native, floating and sedimentation methods, Eimeria spp. oocysts were found and calculated using quantitative methods with McMaster technique as 30,200 oocysts/gram. Based on all data and laboratory examination results, it was concluded that the pig was infected with African swine fever, Streptococcus suis and Eimeria spp. In pig farming management, strict biosecurity and sanitation must be implemented to minimize the risk of contamination by disease agents.

Abstract

Leukocytes, are a crucial component of the immune system, protecting the body from infections such as bacteria, viruses, fungi, or parasites. This study aims to determine the histological structure of granulocyte white blood cells—basophils, eosinophils, and neutrophils—in young and adult Sumbawa horses. Blood samples were taken from 10 young and 10 adult Sumbawa horses, and histology preparations were made using eosin and methylene blue staining (MDT IndoReagen®). The histological examination and cell counts were conducted using an Olympus CX33 microscope, and data were analyzed with the T-test. The results showed that the histological structure of granulocyte leukocyte in both young and adult Sumbawa horses consisted of round cells with visible cytoplasm and nucleus. Neutrophils have 3-5 lobes with highly variable nucleus shapes and pale pink cytoplasm. The mean number of neutrophils in young Sumbawa horses was 34.20 ± 5.613%, while in adults it was 54.00 ± 6.324%. Eosinophils have a nucleus with two segmented lobes and very clear purplish-red granules in the cytoplasm. The number of eosinophils in young Sumbawa horses was 10.90 ± 2.726%, higher than in adults at 4.10 ± 1.595%. Basophils have very clear purplish-blue granules, with one nucleus filling almost the entire cytoplasm. The mean number of basophils in young Sumbawa horses was 0.20 ± 0.421%, and in adults, it was 0.10 ± 0.316%. In conclusion, the histological images of granulocyte leukocyte in Sumbawa horses show very clear granules, with the number of neutrophils young horses being lower than in adults and eosinophils being higher in young horses than in adults (P<0.05). However, there was no significant difference in the number of basophils (P>0.05). Further research is needed to compare the histology and agranulocyte white blood cell counts in Sumbawa horses to obtain more comprehensive information.

Abstract

Low birth weight (LBW) babies are one of the causes of neonatal death. The inability of low birth weight babies to adapt to the environment will have an impact on the instability of the baby's physiological functions, such as increased heart rate, hypothermia, decreased respiratory frequency, and low oxygen saturation. Apart from using an incubator, one of the actions that is often recommended for LBW babies is Kangaroo Method Treatment (PMK). The aim of this study was to review and analyze previous research regarding the effect of kangaroo treatment on physiological responses in LBW. The method used in this research is a systematic literature review using 3 databases: Pubmed, Science Direct, and Google Scholar. This research has inclusion criteria, namely research articles with a maximum journal publication period of 7 years (2018-2024), articles using Indonesian and English, and availability of full text (Open Access Journal). After conducting the search, 1,240 articles were obtained, which were then selected again using the PRISMA abstract checklist, PRISMA checklist, and JBI critical appraisal checklist to obtain 12 articles. The kangaroo method can help low-birth-weight babies meet their needs by providing an environment and conditions similar to those of the mother's womb. This condition has an influence on low-birth-weight babies in the form of increasing body temperature, stability of the baby's breathing, increased pulse frequency, and baby saturation. The results of this systematic literature review show the influence of the kangaroo method of care on the physiological response of low-birth-weight babies. It is hoped that there will continue to be development and innovation in the implementation of the kangaroo method of care so that there is novelty and the problem of infant mortality throughout the country is currently decreasing.

Abstract

One of the reproductive health problems that teenagers, especially women, often complain about is vaginal discharge. Poor and inappropriate care for the external genitalia can cause continuous vaginal discharge, if not treated it will impact the function of the female reproductive organs. Women's behavior in improving external genital hygiene is a necessary action to prevent infection of the genital organs. The aim of this paper is to examine the results of research findings regarding the relationship between adolescent knowledge about external genital hygiene and the incidence of vaginal discharge based on literature results. The method used was a systematic literature review with journal papers published in 2018-2024 on the Google Scholar and Science Direct databases so that 9 articles were obtained that were relevant to this research. The results of this systematic literature review show that a lack of knowledge among young women about how to properly care for their external genitalia can trigger vaginal discharge. The conclusion of this study is that there is a relationship between knowledge about external genital hygiene and the incidence of vaginal discharge. Suggestions for young women should increase their knowledge about vaginal discharge so that with good knowledge their genital hygiene behavior will be good. This effort can be achieved by reading a lot, watching television or seeking information from health workers.
