Abstract

The utilization of gamal leaves has been proven as a safe, non-toxic natural ingredient.The addition of fermented gamal leaf extract given through drinking water will increase thehydrolysis process of feed protein content into simpler elements. This study aims to determinethe effect of giving fermented gamal leaf extract with different concentrations through drinkingwater on the digestive system of drake balinese. The research was conducted at Sesetan FarmDenpasar, for 8 weeks. The design used was a complete randomized design (CRD) with 4treatments, and 5 replications, so that the total experimental units were 20. Each experimentalunit used 3 drake balinese aged one day as many as 60 heads. The treatments given wereP0=0% fermented gamal leaf extract, P1=2% fermented gamal leaf extract, P2=4% fermentedgamal leaf extract and P3=6% fermented gamal leaf extract. The variables observed were thepercentage of liver, percentage of bile, percentage of cecum, percentage of proventriculus,percentage of ventriculus, percentage of small intestine, percentage of large intestine, andpercentage of cloaca. The results showed that drake balinese given fermented gamal leaf extractas much as 2%, 4%, and 6% had no significant effect (P>0.05) on improving the percentage ofliver, percentage of bile, percentage of cecum, percentage of proventriculus, percentage ofventriculus, percentage of small intestine, percentage of large intestine, and percentage ofcloaca. Based on the results of the study it can be concluded that giving fermented gamal leafextract as much as 2%, 4%, and 6% does not affect the digestive system of drake balinese. ABSTRAK Pemanfaatan daun gamal telah dibuktikan sebagai bahan alami yang aman, dan tidakberacun. Penambahan ekstrak daun gamal terfermentasi yang diberi melalui air minum akanmeningkatkan proses hidrolisis kandungan protein pakan menjadi unsur yang lebih sederhana.Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh pemberian ekstrak daun gamalterfermentasi dengan konsentrasi berbeda melalui air minum terhadap sistem pencernaan itikbali jantan. Penelitian dilaksanakan di Farm Sesetan Denpasar, selama 8 minggu. Rancanganyang digunakan adalah rancangan acak lengkap (RAL) dengan 4 perlakuan, dan 5 ulangan,sehingga total unit percobaan adalah 20. Setiap unit percobaan menggunakan 3 itik bali jantanyang berumur satu hari sebanyak 60 ekor. Perlakuan yang diberikan adalah P0=0% ekstrakdaun gamal terfermentasi, P1=2% ekstrak daun gamal terfermentasi, P2=4% ektrak daun gamalterfermentasi dan P3=6% ekstrak daun gamal terfermentasi. Variabel yang diamati adalahpersentase hati, persentase empedu, persentase sekum, persentase proventrikulus, persentaseventrikulus, persentase usus halus, persentase usus besar, dan persentase kloaka. Hasilpenelitian menunjukkan bahwa itik bali jantan yang diberi ekstrak daun gamal terfermentasisebanyak 2%, 4%, dan 6% berpengaruh tidak nyata (P>0,05) memperbaiki persentase hati,persentase empedu, persentase sekum, persentase proventrikulus, persentase ventrikulus,persentase usus halus, persentase usus besar dan persentase kloaka. Berdasarkan hasilpenelitian dapat disimpulkan bahwa pemberian ekstrak daun gamal terfermentasi sebanyak 2%,4%, dan 6% tidak mempengaruhi sistem pencernaan itik bali jantan.

Abstract

The use of fragrant pandan leaves as a natural addictive feed is an effort to reduce theuse of chemical drugs that can affect the quality of broiler meat. This study aims to determine the effect of giving fragrant pandan leaf extract through drinking water on the organolepticquality of broiler meat which was carried out at Farm Sesetan, Udayana University, for 2months. The study used a Complete Random Design (RAL) with 4 treatments, 5 replicates andeach replicate consisted of 4 broilers. The treatment given was broiler who was given drinkingwater without pandan leaf extract (P0), drinking water with 3% pandan leaf extract (P1),drinking water with 6% pandan leaf extract (P2), drinking water with 9% pandan leaf extract(P3). The variables observed included color, texture, smell, taste, and overall acceptance. Theresults of this study show that the addition of fragrant pandan leaf extract to drinking watershows no significant difference in results (P>0.05) on color, texture, smell and overallacceptance, but showed significantly different results (P<0.05) on taste. The conclusion of thisstudy is that the addition of fragrant pandan leaf extract to drinking water to the organolepticbroiler has not been able to affect the color quality. texture, aroma, and overall acceptance.However, the administration of fragrant pandan leaf extract at the level of 6% can improve thetaste of broiler meat. ABSTRAK Pemanfaatan daun pandan wangi sebagai feed addictive alami sebagai upayapengurangan penggunaan obat-obatan kimia yang bisa mempengaruhi kualitas daging broiler.Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh pemberian ekstrak daun pandan wangimelalui air minum terhadap kualitas organoleptik daging broiler yang dilaksanakan di FarmSesetan, Universitas Udayana, selama 2 bulan. Penelitian menggunakan Rancangan AcakLengkap (RAL) dengan 4 perlakuan, 5 ulangan dan masing-masing ulangan terdiri dari 4 ekorbroiler. Perlakuan yang diberikan adalah broiler yang diberi air minum tanpa ekstrak daunpandan wangi (P0), air minum dengan 3% ekstrak daun pandan wangi (P1), air minum dengan6% ekstrak daun pandan wangi (P2), air minum dengan 9% ekstrak daun pandan wangi (P3).Variabel yang diamati meliputi warna, tekstur, aroma, citarasa, dan penerimaan keseluruhan.Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa penambahan ekstrak daun pandan wangi pada airminum menunjukkan hasil tidak berbeda nyata (P>0,05) terhadap warna, tekstur, aroma danpenerimaan keseluruhan, namun menunjukkan hasil berbeda nyata (P<0,05) pada citarasa.Kesimpulan dari penelitian ini adalah penambahan ekstrak daun pandan wangi pada air minumterhadap organoleptik broiler belum mampu mempengaruhi kualitas warna. tekstur, aroma, danpenerimaan keseluruhan. Namun pemberian ekstrak daun pandan wangi pada level 6% mampumeningkatkan citarasa dari daging broiler.

Abstract

Quail is one of the livestock commodities that produce meat and eggs. The advantage ofquail at the age of 42 days, female quail can produce eggs and high protein in meat. Quail meatcontains 73.2% water, 22.5% protein, 2.5% fat, and 0.94% ash. Dragon fruit skin is rich inpolyphenols as antioxidants and antibacterials. This study aims to review the effect of addingfermented dragon fruit skin extract (Effective Microorganism 4) through drinking water onquail performance which was conducted at Sesetan Farm, Faculty of Animal Husbandry,Denpasar, Bali for 2 months. The study used RAL for 4 treatments, 5 repetitions and eachrepetition included 3 quails. The treatments given were divided into drinking water without theaddition of dragon fruit skin extract (P0), drinking water with 1% dragon fruit skin extract (P1),drinking water with 2% dragon fruit skin extract (P2), drinking water with 3% dragon fruit skinextract (P3). The observed variables include initial body weight, feed consumption, drinkingwater consumption, final body weight, weight gain and Feed Conversion Ratio (FCR). Thefindings of this study showed that the addition of fermented dragon fruit skin extract at levelsof 1%, 2%, and 3% did not differ significantly > 0.05 from the initial body weight, final bodyweight, feed consumption, weight gain and Feed Conversion Ratio (FCR) but had a significanteffect <0.05 on drinking water consumption. It can be concluded that the administration offermented dragon fruit skin extract through drinking water at levels of 1%; 2% and 3% indrinking water has not been able to increase the performance of quails, although it has asignificant effect on quail drinking water consumption. ABSTRAK Burung puyuh ialah diantara komoditi peternakan yang menghasilkan daging serta telur.Keunggulan burung puyuh di usia 42 hari burung puyuh betina telah bisa memproduksi telurdan tinggi protein pada daging. Daging burung puyuh terkandung air 73,2%, protein 22,5%,lemak 2,5%, serta abu 0,94%. Kulit buah naga kaya atas polifenol sebagai antioksidan jugaantibakteri. Penelitian ini mempunyai tujuan dalam meninjau pengaruh penambahan ekstrakkulit buah naga fermentasi (Effective Microorganisme 4) Lewat air minum pada performaburung puyuh yang dilakukan pada Farm Sesetan, Fakultas Peternakan, Denpasar, Balisepanjang 2 bulan. Penelitian memanfaatkan RAL atas 4 perlakuan, 5 ulangan serta setiapulangan mencakup atas 3 ekor burung puyuh. Adapun perlakuan yang diberi terbagi atas airminum dengan tidak penambahan ekstrak kulit buah naga (P0), air minum atas 1% ekstrak kulitbuah naga (P1), air minum atas 2% ekstrak kulit buah naga (P2), air minum atas 3% ekstrakkulit buah naga (P3). Variabel yang diamati mencakup bobot badan awal, konsumsi ransum,konsumsi air minum, bobot badan akhir, pertambahan bobot badan serta Feed ConversionRatio (FCR). Temuan penelitian ini memperlihatkan kalau penambahan ekstrak kulit buah nagaterfermentasi pada level 1%, 2%, serta 3% berbeda tidak nyata > 0,05 dari bobot badan awal,bobot badan akhir, konsumsi ransum, pertambahan bobot badan serta Feed Conversion Ratio(FCR) tetapi mempunyai pengaruh nyata < 0,05 pada konsumsi air minum. Dapat diambilsimpulan kalau pemberian ekstrak kulit buah naga terfermentasi lewat air minum pada taraf1%; 2% serta 3% dalam air minum belum bisa menaikkan performa burung puyuh sedangkanberpengaruh dengan cara signifikan pada konsumsi air minum burung puyuh.

Abstract

This study aims to review the effect of KPLA on the carcass cuts of male Bali ducksthat have been carried out for 8 weeks. The research design used was RAL which included 3treatments and 6 replications, each replication containing 5 ducks, until the number of maleBali ducks used was 90. The treatments used were, P0: ration added with 25% commercial concentrate plus 0% KPLA (control), P1: ration added with 12.5% commercial concentrate plus12.5 KPLA, P2: ration added with commercial concentrate plus 25% KPLA. The variablesobserved were Carcass weight, chest weight, back weight, upper and lower thigh weight, andwing weight. The results showed that the use of KPLA in the ration in the P2 treatment showedhigher results than P0 (P<0.05) in carcass fraction and chest weight. Meanwhile, the use ofKPLA in rations in treatments P1 and P2 did not show significant results (P> 0.05) whendistinguished by P0 on the weight of the back, upper thigh, lower thigh, and wings. Inconclusion, the use of 25% KPLA in rations can produce the best carcass weight and breastfracture weight. ABSTRAK Penelitian ini bertujuan dalam meninjau pengaruh pemberian KPLA pada recahankarkas itik Bali Jantan yang telah dilaksanakan selama 8 minggu. Rancangan penelitian yangdimanfaatkan ialah RAL yang meliputi atas 3 perlakuan serta 6 ulangan, setiap ulangan berisi 5ekor itik, hingga itik bali jantan yang dimanfaatkan sejumlah 90 ekor. Perlakuan yangdigunakan yaitu, P0: ransum yang ditambah 25% konsentrat komersial ditambah 0 % KPLA(kontrol), P1: ransum ditambah 12,5 % konsentrat komersial ditambah 12,5 KPLA, P2: ransumditambah konsentrat komersial ditambah 25% KPLA. Variabel yang diamati ialah bobotkarkas, bobot dada, bobot punggung, bobot paha atas serta paha bawah, dan bobot sayap. Hasilpenelitian menunjukan kalau penggunaan KPLA dalam ransum pada perlakuan P2 menunjukanhasil yang lebih tinggi dari P0 (P< 0,05) pada recahan karkas serta bobot dada. Sementara itu,penggunaan KPLA pada ransum dalam perlakuan P1 serta P2 tidak menunjukkan hasil yangtidak signifikan > 0,05 jika dibedakan sama P0 pada bobot punggung, paha atas, paha bawah,dan sayap. Kesimpulan, penggunaan 25% KPLA pada ransum dapat menghasilkan berat karkasdan berat recahan dada yang terbaik.

Abstract

Indonesia, as an agricultural country, has an important livestock sector, especially infulfilling animal protein. Laying hens are one of the main commodities, with productioncontinuing to increase. Bali Province, especially Tabanan Regency and Penebel District, hasgreat potential in developing laying hen farms, but its productivity is still hampered by limitedaccess to information, low participation in farmer groups, and communication constraintsbetween farmers. This study used a sample of 36 farmers selected using stratified randomsampling based on business scale (small, medium, large) to examine the effect of communicationintensity on laying hen productivity in Penebel District. Data analysis used the Spearman rankcorrelation test with qualitative and quantitative descriptive techniques. The results showed thatthe level of communication intensity including frequency (60.22%), time (64%), and attention(76%) was quite good. However, the correlation analysis showed a weak negative relationshipbetween communication variables (frequency, time, attention, tolerance, supportive attitude,open attitude, equality, response) and egg productivity (r= -0.133 to -0.014; *p* > 0.05). Onlytolerance has a significant effect on communication intensity. This finding indicates thatproductivity is more influenced by other factors such as feed quality, cage management, andchicken health, compared to communication intensity. Further research is needed to identifyfactors supporting productivity and formulate effective communication strategies for farmers. ABSTRAK Indonesia, sebagai negara agraris, memiliki sektor peternakan yang penting, terutamadalam pemenuhan protein hewani. Ayam ras petelur menjadi salah satu komoditas utama, denganproduksi yang terus meningkat. Provinsi Bali, khususnya Kabupaten Tabanan dan KecamatanPenebel, memiliki potensi besar dalam pengembangan peternakan ayam ras petelur, namunproduktivitasnya masih terhambat oleh keterbatasan akses informasi, rendahnya partisipasidalam kelompok tani, dan kendala komunikasi antar peternak. Penelitian ini menggunakansampel sebanyak 36 peternak yang dipilih secara stratified random sampling berdasarkan skalausaha (kecil, sedang, besar) untuk mengkaji pengaruh intensitas komunikasi terhadapproduktivitas ayam petelur di Kecamatan Penebel. Analisis data menggunakan uji korelasi rankSpearman dengan teknik deskriptif kualitatif dan kuantitatif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkanbahwa tingkat intensitas komunikasi yang meliputi frekuensi (60,22%), waktu (64%), danperhatian (76%) tergolong cukup baik. Namun, analisis korelasi menunjukkan hubungan negatiflemah antara variabel komunikasi (frekuensi, waktu, perhatian, toleransi, sikap suportif, sikapterbuka, kesetaraan, respons) dengan produktivitas telur (r = -0,133 hingga -0,014; *p* > 0,05).Hanya toleransi yang berpengaruh signifikan terhadap intensitas komunikasi. Temuan inimengindikasikan bahwa produktivitas lebih dipengaruhi faktor lain seperti kualitas pakan,manajemen kandang, dan kesehatan ayam, dibandingkan intensitas komunikasi. Penelitian lebihlanjut diperlukan untuk mengidentifikasi faktor pendukung produktivitas serta merumuskanstrategi komunikasi yang efektif bagi peternak.

Abstract

Quail is one of the poultry species with many advantages. It has a fast growth rate andhigh reproductive capability. Quail meat contains a high level of protein, approximately 21.1%.Dragon fruit peel is rich in polyphenols, which act as antioxidants and antibacterial agents. Thisstudys aim to investigate the effects of fermented dragon fruit peel extract administered throughdrink water on carcass and non-carcass production in quails. The research was conducte over aperiod of two month at the Faculty of Animal Husbandry, Denpasar, Bali. A CompleteRandomized Design (CRD) was used, consist of four treatment and five replications. Thetreatment included: drink water without dragon fruit peel extract (P0), drink water with 1% (P1),2% (P2), and 3% (P3) fermented dragon fruit peel extract. The observed variable includedslaughter weight, carcass weights, carcass percentace, and the percentace of internal anda externaloffal. The result show that the addition of 1%, 2%, and 3% dragon fruit peel extract is nothingsignificant effects (P>0.05) on carcass weight, slaughter weight, carcass percentages, and thepercentage of external and internal offal in quails. It is capable to conclude that theadministrations of 1%–3% fermented dragon fruit peel extract in drink water does not affectsslaughter weight, carcass weight, carcas percentace, or the percentace of internal and externaloffal in 8-week-old quails. ABSTRAK Burung puyuh tergolong unggas dimana mempunyai banyak keunggulan. Burung puyuhmempunyai pertumbuhan dan reproduksi yang cepat. Daging burung puyuh mengandung kadarprotein yang tinggi yakni 21,1%. Kulit pada buah naga banyak memuat polifenol sebagaipelindung sel beserta antibakteri. Penelitian memiliki tujuan yakni guna memahami efekdiberikannya ekstrak kulit buah naga difermentasi melalui air minum atas produksi karkas sertanon karkas unggas ini. Penelitian dilakukan selama 2 bulan dan bertempat di Fakultas Peternakan,Denpasar, Bali. Rancangan Acak Lengkap (RAL) mencakup keempat perlakuan serta limapengulangan adalah rancangan kajian peneliti. Empat perlakuannya melingkupi: air minum tidakdisertai ekstrak kulit buah naga (P0), air minum disertai 1% ekstrak kulit buah naga (P1), 2%(P2), 3% (P3). Variabel pengamatan meliputi berat karkas, berat potong, persentase karkas,persentase offal eksternal dan internal. Hasil pemberian ekstrak kulit buah naga menerangkanyakni 1%, 2%, serta 3% tidak mempengaruhi secara nyata (P>0,05) atas berat potong, beratkarkas, persentase karkas, persentase offal eksternal pun internal puyuh. Simpulan penelitian iniyakni dalam memberikan ekstrak kulit buah naga sejumlah 1%-3% di air minum tidakmempengaruhi berat karkas, berat potong, persentase karkas, serta persentase offal eksternal daninternal burung puyuh usia 8 pekan.

Abstract

Broiler is a type of poultry resulting from the crossing of chicken nations that has a high level of productivity, especially in the level of productivity of meat weight gain. Broiler growth is relatively short, in less than 5 weeks broilers can produce an average weight of 1.5kg. This study aims to determine the effect of giving fermented moringa leaf extract through drinking water on broiler performance. This research was carried out in a cage located at the Sesetan Farm, Faculty of Animal Husbandry, Udayana University, and this research lasted from October to November 2024. The design used was a complete random design (RAL) with three treatments and each treatment was repeated six times, so there were 18 experimental units. The treatment is: EF0: without fermented moringa leaf extract EF1: 3% fermented moringa leaf extract EF2: 6% moringa leaf extract. The variables observed were initial body weight, ration consumption, drinking water consumption, final body weight, body weight gain, feed conversion ratio. The results showed that the administration of 6% fermented moringa leaf extract could reduce ration consumption and Feed Conversion ratio (FCR) but could not increase drinking water consumption, final body weight, and body weight gain compared to controls. Based on the results of this study, it can be concluded that the administration of fermented moringa leaf extract as much as 6% can reduce ration consumption and Feed Conversion ratio (FCR) but cannot increase drinking water consumption, final body weight, and increase in broiler body weight. ABSTRAK Broiler merupakan jenis unggas hasil dari persilangan bangsa-bangsa ayam yangmemiliki tingkat produktivitas yang tinggi, terutama dalam tingkat produktivitas pertambahanbobot berat daging. Pertumbuhan broiler yang relatif singkat, dalam kurun waktu kurang dari 5minggu broiler dapat menghasilkan bobot rata-rata 1,5kg. Penelitian ini bertujuan untukmengetahui pengaruh pemberian ekstrak daun kelor terfermentasi melalui air minum terhadapperforma broiler. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan di kandang yang berlokasi di Farm Sesetan FakultasPeternakan Universitas Udayana, dan penelitian ini berlangsung dari bulan Oktober sampaiNovember 2024. Rancangan yang digunakan yaitu rancangan acak lengkap (RAL) dengan tigaperlakuan dan masing- masing perlakuan diulang sebanyak enam kali, sehingga terdapat 18 unitpercobaan. Perlakuan tersebut yaitu: EF0: tanpa ekstrak daun kelor terfermentasi, EF1: 3%ekstrak daun kelor terfermentasi, dan EF2: 6% ekstrak daun kelor terfermentasi. Variabel yangdiamati yaitu bobot badan awal, konsumsi ransum, konsumsi air minum, bobot badan akhir,pertambahan bobot badan, dan feed convertion ratio. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwapemberian ekstrak daun kelor terfermentasi 6% dapat menurunkan konsumsi ransum dan FeedConvertion ratio (FCR) tetapi belum bisa meningkatkan konsumsi air minum, bobot badan akhir,dan pertambahan bobot badan dibandingkan dengan kontrol. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian inidapat disimpulkan bahwa pemberian ekstrak daun kelor terfermentasi sebanyak 6% dapatmenurunkan konsumsi ransum dan Feed Convertion ratio (FCR) tetapi belum bisa meningkatkankonsumsi air minum, bobot badan akhir, dan pertambahan bobot badan broiler.

Abstract

In Bali, duck meat is highly needed for religious and customary ceremonies. Duck meathas a drawback due to the lack of demand because most consumers are not yet accustomed to itsdistinctive aroma, especially regarding its unique taste and smell (off-flavor/odor), as well as the tough texture of the meat. This study uses Chicken Farming Waste (KPLA) to support the growthof ducks. KPLA has several benefits, including improving animal growth, feed efficiency,carcass quality, and providing positive impacts on the environment and sustainability. The aimof this research is to determine the effect of feeding Protein Concentrate from Chicken FarmingWaste (KPLA) on the physical quality of male Bali duck meat. The research samples are dividedinto 3 groups, namely P0, P1, and P2, with a total of 90 ducks, applying 3 treatments and 6repetitions. The results of the analysis showed that the values of pH, DIA, and SM of maleBalinese duck meat given chicken farm waste protein concentrate (KPLA) experiencedsignificant differences (P<0.05). The insignificance of this difference indicates that KPLA is ableto optimally meet the protein needs of livestock, thereby producing quality meat with anappropriate ultimate pH. ABSTRAK Di Bali, daging itik sangat dibutuhkan dalam pelaksanaan upacara agama dan adatistiadat. Daging itik memiliki kelemahan pada kurangnya permintaan karena sebagian besarkonsumen belum terbiasa dengan aroma khasnya, terutama pada sensasi rasa dan bau yang khas(off-flavor/odor), serta tekstur daging yang keras. Dalam penelitian ini menggunakan LimbahPeternakan Ayam (KPLA) untuk mendukung pertumbuhan itik. KPLA memiliki sejumlahmanfaat, antara lain meningkatkan pertumbuhan hewan, efisiensi pakan, kualitas karkas, sertamemberikan dampak positif terhadap lingkungan dan keberlanjutan. Tujuan dari penelitian iniadalah untuk mengetahui pengaruh pemberian pakan Konsentrat Protein Limbah PeternakanAyam (KPLA) terhadap kualitas fisik daging itik bali jantan. Sampel penelitian dibedakanmenjadi 3, yakni P0, P1, dan P2, dengan jumlah sebanyak 90 ekor dengan penerapan 3 perlakuandan 6 kali pengulangan. Hasil analisis menunjukkan bahwa nilai pada pH, DIA, dan SM dagingitik Bali jantan yang diberikan konsentrat protein limbah peternakan ayam (KPLA) mengalamiperbedaan signifikan (P<0,05). Ketidaksignifikanan perbedaan ini mengindikasikan bahwaKPLA mampu memenuhi kebutuhan protein ternak secara optimal, sehingga menghasilkandaging berkualitas dengan pH ultimat yang sesuai.

Abstract

In the animal husbandry industry right now, the use of antibiotics as feed additives hasdrawn a lot of criticism because it causes resistance. Therefore, there is a need for natural feed additives to boost broiler performance. This research aims to investigate the effect of addingciplukan extract (Physalis angulata L.) to drinking water on broiler performance. The researchwas conducted over 30 days using a Completely Randomized Design (CRD) with three treatmentgroups and six replicates. Each replicate involved five broilers with an average initial bodyweight of 49.6±2.48 g. The treatments applied were: P0 (control, only regular drinking water),P1 (drinking water supplemented with 2% ciplukan extract), and P2 (drinking watersupplemented with 4% ciplukan extract). The variables observed in this research included initialbody weight, feed intake, drinking water intake, final body weight, weight gain, and feedconversion ratio (FCR). The results of this research indicate that the addition of ciplukan extractat concentrations of 2% and 4% has a significant effect (P<0.05) on feed intake, FCR anddrinking water intake. However, there is no significant difference (P>0.05) in final body weightand weight gain of broilers with the addition of this extract. In summary, it can be concluded thatthe administration of ciplukan extract at 2% and 4% through drinking water reduces feed intakeand FCR while increasing water intake. However, the addition of ciplukan extract at both levels(2% and 4%) does not significantly increase final body weight and weight gain of broilers duringthe 1-30 day rearing period. ABSTRAK Di dunia peternakan saat ini, pemberian antibiotik sebagai feed additive banyak menuaihal negatif, karena menimbulkan resistensi. Maka perlu adanya feed additive alami dalammemacu performa broiler. Penelitian ini mempunyai tujuan untuk meneliti dampak penambahanekstrak ciplukan (Physalis angulata L.) pada air minum terhadap performa broiler. Penelitian inidilakukan selama 30 hari menggunakan Rancangan Acak Lengkap (RAL) dengan tiga jenisperlakuan dan enam kali ulangan. Masing-masing ulangan melibatkan lima ekor broiler denganrata-rata bobot badan awal 49,6±2,48 g. Perlakuan yang diterapkan yaitu: P0 (kontrol, air minumbiasa), P1 (air minum ditambahi 2% ekstrak ciplukan), dan P2 (air minum ditambahi 4% ekstrakciplukan). Variabel yang diteliti dalam penelitian ini meliputi bobot badan awal, tingkatkonsumsi ransum, jumlah konsumsi air minum, bobot badan akhir, pertambahan bobot badan,dan feed conversion ratio (FCR). Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa penambahan ekstrakciplukan pada konsentrasi 2% dan 4% memberikan pengaruh signifikan (P<0,05) terhadapkonsumsi ransum, FCR dan konsumsi air minum. Namun, tidak ada perbedaan yang signifikan(P>0,05) pada bobot badan akhir dan pertambahan bobot badan broiler dengan penambahanekstrak ini. Secara ringkas, dapat disimpulkan bahwa pemberian ekstrak ciplukan sebesar 2%dan 4% melalui air minum dapat mengurangi konsumsi ransum serta FCR, sekaligusmeningkatkan suatu konsumsi air minum. Akan tetapi, penambahan ekstrak ciplukan pada kedualevel tersebut (2% dan 4%) tidak secara berarti meningkatkan bobot badan akhir danpertambahan bobot badan broiler selama periode pemeliharaan 1-30 hari.

Abstract

Bali ducks are known for their rapid and efficient growth in converting feed into high-quality meat. However, their rapid growth is often accompanied by an increase in fat content,which can lead to a fishy flavor in the meat. Therefore, this study was conducted to investigatethe effect of replacing commercial concentrate with chicken by-product protein concentrate(KPLA) on the body fat composition of male Bali ducks over an 8-week period. A completelyrandomized design (CRD) was used, consisting of three treatments and six replicates, with eachreplicate comprising five male Bali ducks, totaling 90 ducks. The treatments included male Baliducks fed a ration and concentrate without KPLA replacement as the control (P0), those fed aration and a mixture of 12.5% concentrate and 12.5% KPLA (P1), and those fed 25% KPLA(P2). The results showed that replacing commercial concentrate with KPLA in the P1 and P2treatments significantly increased (P<0.05) the carcass weight and maintained the body fatcomposition of the male Bali ducks. In conclusion, replacing commercial concentrate with KPLAcan increase the carcass weight of ducks, and 25% KPLA is good to use as a substitute forcommercial concentrate feed for ducks. ABSTRAK Itik bali dikenal mampu tumbuh dengan cepat dan efisien dalam mengkonversi pakanmenjadi daging berkualitas tinggi. Pertumbuhan cepat pada itik sering kali diikuti denganpeningkatan kadar lemak, yang dapat menyebabkan bau amis pada daging itik. Oleh karena itu,studi ini dilakukan demi mencari tahu pengaruh penggantian konsentrat komersial dengankonsentrat protein limbah peternakan ayam (KPLA) terhadap komposisi lemak tubuh itik balijantan yang telah dilaksanakan selama 2 bulan. Rancangan penelitian yang diterapkan ialahRancangan Acak Lengkap (RAL) dengan tiga perlakuan, enam percobaan dengan setiap ulanganmenggunakan lima ekor itik. Perlakuan yang diberikan, yaitu itik bali jantan yang diberikanransum dan 25% konsentrat komersial tanpa KPLA sebagai kontrol (P0), itik bali jantan yangdiberikan campuran ransum dan 12,5% konsentrat dan 12,5% KPLA (P1), dan itik bali jantanyang diberikan ransum dan 25% KPLA (P2). Hasil studi ini memperlihatkan bahwa penggantiankonsentrat komersial dengan KPLA pada perlakuan P1 dan P2 menunjukkan peningkatan yangsignifikan (P<0,05) terhadap bobot potong dan mampu mempertahankan komposisi lemak tubuhitik bali jantan. Jadi dapat disimpulkan bahwa penggantian konsentrat komersial dengan KPLAmampu meningkatkan bobot potong itik, dan 25% KPLA baik digunakan sebagai penggantipakan konsentrat komersial itik.
