Abstract

This study is brought about from three main reasons; namely the rise of  the  theory  of  multiple  intelligence,  students'  inability  tounderstandtheir talents and interests, and absence of a standardized instrumentof multiple intelligence. Based on these concerns, this study is  aimed at developing an instrument useful to disclose the multiple intelligenceprofiles of students of the senior high school in Indonesia. Thestudy uses the quantitative approach. Data collecting processes, however,are supported by the qualitative method. The subjects of this researchare students of the senior high school in Daerah Istimewa Yogyakartatotalling at 920 students. Quantitative data collection is carriedout by the instrument and then the data are analized using the SPSSprogram package.  Qualitative data collection is done through discussions and expert judgements.  Using  a content validity test as the measure for  validity,  a  model  of  the  instrument  of  the  multiple intelligenceis developed to measure the tendencies of the senior high school students' interests and talents. The instrument is divided into twoparts. Thefirst is to measure the students' talents and the second is to measure the students' interests. Using the item selection technique for the measure of reliability, the realibility of test is represented by the coefficient count of 0.9044 for scale I and 0.6789for scale 2. These results show that this instrument is valid and realible

Abstract

ANALISIS FAKTOR YANG MEMPENGARUHI KECEPATAN KENAIKAN KARIR GURU SEKOLAH DASARAbstrakPenelitian ini bertujuan untuk memetakan kemampuan guru dalam menulis karya ilmiah, motivasi berprestasi, disiplin kerja, dan pengaruhnya pada kenaikan pangkat guru; hubungan antara kemampuan menulis karya ilmiah, motivasi berprestasi, disiplin kerja terhadap kecepatan kenaikan pangkat. Penelitian ini merupakan jenis penelitian survei. Subyek penelitian ini adalah guru PNS sekolah dasar negeri di Sleman yang berjumlah 172 orang. Teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah angket (kuesioner) dan tes. Instrumen yang digunakan telah melalui uji validitas dan reliabilitas dengan metode internal consistency. Data yang terkumpul kemudian dianalisis menggunakan statistika inferensial dengan cara menganalisis korelasi dan analisis regresi sederhana/berganda. Berdasarkan hasil analisis dapat disimpulkan kemampuan guru sekolah dasar negeri dalam menulis karya ilmiah, motivasi berprestasi guru, dan disiplin kerja mayoritas masuk termasuk dalam kategori sedang. Kemampuan guru sekolah dasar negeri dalam menulis karya ilmiah, motivasi berprestasi guru, dan disiplin kerja berpengaruh pada kecepatan kenaikan pangkat guru sekolah dasar negeri.AbstractThis study was aimed at determining teachers' scientific paper writing ability, achievement motivation, work discipline, and the impact on teacher promotion; and the relationship between the ability to write scientific papers, achievement motivation, work discipline to the speed of the promotion. This study was categorized as survey research. The subjects of this study were 172 elementary school teachers (state civil apparatus) in Sleman. The data collection techniques used in this study were questionnaires and tests. The instrument used has been tested for validity and reliability using the internal consistency method. The collected data were then analyzed using inferential statistics by analyzing correlations and simple/multiple regression.The results show that the majority of scientific paper writing ability, achievement motivation, and work disciplines of the teacher are as a medium category. It is also can be found that the writing scientific paper ability, achievement motivation, and work discipline has an effect on their career promotion.

Abstract

AbstrakPenelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan kemampuan siswa-siswa Kelas VIII SMP negeri di salah satu kabupaten/kota di Kalimantan Tengah Tahun Ajaran 2015/2016 dalam memecahkan masalah berdasarkan akreditasi. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode deskriptif. Dari jumlah populasi sebanyak 28 sekolah, 10 sekolah dipilih sebagai sampel dengan metode random sampling. Sample tersebut adalah 2 akreditasi A, 2 akreditasi B, 2 akreditasi C, dan 4 belum diakreditasi. Tiga pertanyaan diberikan pada setiap sekolah. Setiap penyelesaian diskor menggunakan rubrik. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa rata-rata skor kemampuan siswa secara keseluruhan sebesar 4,71 (maksimum skornya 12). Rata-rata skor kemampuan siswa untuk sekolah dengan akreditasi A, B, C, dan belum diakreditasi secara berturut-turut sebesar 5,24; 2,29; 3,31; dan 2,10. Hasil uji Kruskal-Wallis dan uji lanjut adalah skor kemampuan siswa sekolah dengan akreditasi A lebih tinggi dari kemampuan siswa sekolah dengan akreditasi B, C, dan belum diakreditasi secara signifikan. Akan tetapi, skor kemampuan siswa sekolah dengan akreditasi B, C, dan belum diakreditasi tidak berbeda signifikan.Kata kunci: masalah matematika, pemecahan masalah, tingkat akreditasi MATH PROBLEMS SOLVING ABILITY OF EIGHTH GRADE STUDENTS BASED ON THE ACCREDITATION LEVEL. AbstractThis study was aimed at describing mathematical problem solving ability of eight grade students from state junior high schools in one of the districts/cities in Central Kalimantan based on the school accreditation. This research used descriptive qualitative method. From total populations 28 schools, ten schools were chosen by random sampling. They were two schools of A accreditation, two schools of B, two schools of C, and four schools have not accredited. Three problems were given to the students from each school. Each student’s solution was scored by using the rubric. The result shows that the average score of the students’ ability is 4.71 (maximum score is 12) which the average score of A, B, C accreditations, and have not accredited were 5.24, 2.29, 3.31, and 2.10 respectively. The result of Kruskal-Wallis and the further tests show that the students’ scores of A accreditation are higher than B, C acreditations, and have not accredited. However, the scores of B, C accreditations, and have not accredited were not significantly different.Keywords: mathematical problems, problem solving, accreditation levels

Abstract

Abstract This empirical study was carried out to answer feasibility questions for junior secondary education (JSE) development project in term of community acceptance, support and participation. There was belief, held widely, that the willingness and the ability of the community to assume their part, generate and mobilize their resources would guarantee good result. Accordingly, the dynamic interactions between supply and demand within the education sector should be clarified prior to the beginning of the project. Improving JSE access means bringing JSE closer to the legitimate users by taking into account the best matching dynamic, interactive supply-demand within the socio-economic and cultural context.  The assessment questions should deal with both the micro (school) level and the macro (community) one. The methodology (procedure and rules) relied upon rapid assessment through intensive educational and social discourses with a wide range of educational stakeholders in the bureaucratic offices and the community members in the field. An inventory and the interview guide were developed supported by secondary data and school observation. The general conclusions (related to policies not strictly to research) included: (1) the general public and school community constituencies tended to assume that the key to improve the JSE access was the supply of schooling facilities, especially school building.

Abstract

Abstract The purpose of the research is to improve: (a) the student reading skill at the first grade of elementary school, (b) the learning reading motivation, (c) the learning reading attention, and (d) the activity of the learning reading at the first grade of elementary school. This study is a classroom action research and the subjects are the teacher and the students of the first grade of Sapen, Yogyakarta Elementary School. The research consists of three cycles. The study involved, the teacher of the improving of the effectiveness of the teaching learning reading in the first grade of state Elementary School. The results of this research are as follows:a) the students reading skill, b) the learning reading motivation c) the attention; The Elementary School students activity in Sapen, Yogyakarta gets improvement after giving the implementation of the action; the teacher is able to construct the design of action research on reading learning teaching by using the reinforcement and drawing media; the teacher and the students respond the implementation of the teaching learning reading using reinforcement role and drawing media positively. Abstract

This study was aimed at eliciting facts of peaceful conditions experienced by students in the environment of Pesantren-based schools, positively and negatively, and revealing the students’ mentality in the face of the school rules. The study was done in Madrasah Aliyah (Mualimin) Pesantren Persatuan Islam (PPI) 76 Tarogong, Garut. The study used the narrative method based on the data collected by questionnaires, interviews, observation, and literature study using interactive analyses. Findings show that the synergy of school rules, curriculum contents, teachers, facilities and infrastructures, and other internal elements of the pesantren-based school actualized a unified peaceful life atmosphere which is significant for students, individually or communally. The spiritual and religious foundation of the education has a solid structure in building pillars of peacefulness within the students. Internalization of awareness towards human roles and duties and life guidelines taught by Islamic teaching scaffolds the formation of the strong harmony between students’ attitudes and school rules, preventing students from discipline mentality that is weak and superficialMENTALITAS DAMAI SISWA DAN PERATURAN SEKOLAH BERBASIS PESANTRENPenelitian ini bertujuan untuk menggali fakta-fakta kondisi damai yang dialami para siswa dalam lingkungan sekolah berbasis pesantren, baik positif maupun negatif dan mengungkapkan mentalitas mereka dihadapkan dengan peraturan sekolah. Penelitian dilakukan di Madrasah Aliyah (Mualimin) Pesantren Persatuan Islam (PPI) 76 Tarogong Garut. Metode yang digunakan adalah metode naratif berdasarkan data-data yang dikumpulkan dengan teknik kuesioner, wawancara, dan studi literatur yang menggunakan analisis interaktif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa sinergitas peraturan sekolah, muatan kurikulum, para pendidik, sarana dan prasarana, serta elemen internal lain dari sekolah berbasis pesantren tersebut membangun satu keutuhan kondisi atmosfer kehidupan sarat damai yang cukup signifikan bagi para siswa, baik individual maupun komunal. Fondasi spiritual dan keagamaan dalam pendidikan memiliki struktur yang kokoh dalam menyusun pilar kedamaian dalam diri siswa. Internalisasi kesadaran fungsi dan tugas manusia serta pedoman berkehidupan yang diajarkan agama (Islam) sangat menopang terbentuknya harmoni sikap siswa terhadap peraturan sekolah yang kokoh, yaitu terhindar dari mental disiplin yang rapuh dan ragawi semata

Abstract

Abstract The purpose of this research is to improve learning activity and achievement in Probability Theory, through the implementation of Problem-Based Learning (PBL). This research was done in three cycles on first semester students of Mathematics Education of the University Mataram, iin the academic year 2005/2006. In this research, the implementation of PBL model is combined with cooperative model in the phase of problem solving. By improving the quality of learning on each cycle, activity and achievement of students improved significantly, that is the average of achievement is 62.8 at the end of the first cycle, 71.6 in the second and 87.8 at the third. Students’ activity also improved, that is 47% in first cycle, 67% in second and 88% in third. It indicates that PBL implemented in the last cycle can be made as one of instruction model in university, especially for study of probability theory. Abstract

Abstract The objectives of this research are to find out: (1) leadership style of elementary school principal (ESP) in Yogyakarta province; (2) the difference of leadership style between male and female of elementary school principal; (3) the differences of job satisfaction between male and female teacher; and (4) the correlation between woman’s of elementary school principal transformational leadership style and teacher’s job satisfaction based on gender perspective. Population of this research includes the entire elementary schoolteachers in Yogyakarta province. Multistage random sampling is used questionnaire, while technique data analysis is used descriptive analysis, t-test, and regression. The result of this research shows that most teachers said that their elementary school  principal (ESP) has a high level of transformational leadership style; there is no different leadership style between male and female elementary school principal (t=1.22; p=0.225); most teachers have a high job satisfaction; there is no different job satisfaction between teacher who has a male and female elementary school principal (t=0.47; p=0.639); there is a positive correlation between transformational leadership style of elementary school  principal and teacher’s job satisfaction (R=0.291 t=7.353, p=0.000). Regarding dender perspective, the result of this research shows that both male and female elementary school principal has a positive correlation between transformational leadership style and teacher’s job satisfaction. Abstract

The purpose of this study was to describe the programme planning, intervention, and evaluation of the instructional treatment of autistic children. Using the naturalistic qualitative approach, data were collected by interviews, observations, and document analyses. Data were validated by way of the triangulation technique, checking with department friends through discussions and by way of in-depth observation. The data collected were reduced and analysed to yield the research findings. The findings are as follows. The autism treatment programme was carried out through many steps of planning, performance, and evaluation. Autism is an integral part of children who have a special need and special education with service modelling according to their interests, needs, and abilities. Autism is a trouble and tardiness in cognitive, communication, social interaction, and habits. Autism needs a treatment programme that is the same with their education process and everything is given wholly and individually so that they can improve their abilities. Suggestions were given that autism programme be made more effective, the headmaster increase the number of teachers, and cooperation be maximalized between the school and parents.

Abstract

PENGEMBANGAN E-SCAFFOLDING UNTUKMENINGKATKAN KUALITAS PROSES DAN HASIL BELAJARAbstrakPenelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengembangkan produk E-Scaffolding untuk meningkatkan kualitas proses dan hasil belajar mahasiswa pada Mata Kuliah Fisika Matematika. mata kuliah fisika yang menjadi pokok bahasan pada penelitian ini adalah Fisika matematika khususnya pada pokok bahasan integral lipat. Metode penelitian yang digunakan untuk mengembangkan e-scaffolding adalah Research and Development. Desain tersebut meliputi 4 tahapan, yaitu analisis kebutuhan, desain model , pengembangan model, validasi, revisi dan uji coba produk Instrumen penelitian yang digunakan adalah lembar validasi dari ahli materi dan ahli media, angket, dan tes. Hasil penelitian menghasilkan sebuah e-scaffolding, yakni produk pendukung pembelajaran online dengan menggunakan website dan fasilitas scaffolding. Hasil uji kelayakan menunjukan menunjukkan nilai yang sangat baik dari ahli media dan sangat layak dari ahli materi. Penggunaan e-scaffolding memang dapat meningkatkan hasil belajar siswa dan kualitas pembelajaran di kelas menjadi lebih efektif dan efisien. Hasil analisis kualitas proses pembelajaran dengan menggunakan e-scaffolding juga menunjukkan adanya peningkatan dibandingkan dengan menggunakan pembelajaran direct instruction.Kata kunci: E-scaffolding, hasil belajar, Fisika MatematikaAbstractThis study was aimed at developing E-scaffolding to improve the quality of the process and product of students’ learning of Physical Methematics. The physics subject of this study was Physical Mathematics focusing on the topic of repeated integral. The method used to develop the E-scaffolding was Research and Development. The design covered 4 stages, namely need analysis, model design, model development and validation, and revision and product testing. The research instruments used in this study were validation sheets from material and media experts, questionnaires, and tests. The results of the study generates an E-scaffolding, which is a product of online learning aids using website and scaffolding facilities. The feasibility test results show that the E-scaffolding is categorized into the very good category tested by the media experts and the highly feasible category tested by the material experts. The use of E-scaffolding is able to improve the students’ learning outcomes and the quality of the classroom teaching learning process. The results of the quality analysis of the learning process using E-scaffolding also shows an improvement compared to the use of the direct instruction method.Keywords: E-scaffolding, learning outcome, Physical Mathematics
