Abstract

Critical thinking ability is an essential skill in 21st century education, because it helps students to analyze, evaluate, and synthesize information logically for problem solving. The research used quasi-experiment method with pretest-posttest control group design. This study aims to test the effectiveness of the Project Based Learning learning model in improving the critical thinking skills of 11th grade students of SMA Negeri 3 Kuningan on inflation material. The results showed that students who studied using the Project Based Learning model experienced a higher increase in critical thinking skills than students in the control class. Although the increase was not statistically significant, the application of the Project Based Learning model proved to be able to encourage students to think more actively, collaborate, and analyze economic data contextually. Therefore, the Project Based Learning model has the potential to be an effective learning approach in developing students' critical thinking skills if implemented with more optimal planning and assistance.

Abstract

The problem of this study is the low critical thinking ability of students characterized by dependence on reading books and lack of initiative in solving problems independently. This study aims to analyze the Effect of the Implementation of the Team Game Tournament (TGT) Cooperative Learning Model on the critical thinking ability of class XI students in the Economics subject of SMA Negeri 1 Ciwaru. The research method used is Quasi Experimental with a Non-Equivalent Control Group design. This study involved two groups of students, namely the experimental group who received cooperative learning type Team Games Tournament (TGT) and the Control group with the Lecture Method. The results of the analysis showed that there was a significant difference in critical thinking ability between the experimental class who received the Team Games Tournament (TGT) learning model and the Control class students who received the Lecture Method. This difference can be seen from the creative thinking ability of students in the experimental class who received the Team Games Tournament (TGT) cooperative model obtained higher results compared to the Control class students who received the Lecture Method. Therefore, the use of the Team Games Tournament (TGT) cooperative learning model can improve students' critical thinking ability.

Abstract

Fostering an entrepreneurial spirit from an early age is essential, as Early Childhood Education (ECE) serves as the foundation for lifelong learning and readiness for future challenges. The early years are a critical period in which children develop not only cognitive and social-emotional skills but also the character traits necessary for independence and adaptability in life. Therefore, it is crucial to implement learning approaches that align with the unique characteristics of young children—especially their high levels of exploration, creativity, and imagination. Project-Based Learning (PjBL) emerges as a relevant and effective pedagogical approach to cultivate entrepreneurial values in early learners. By engaging children in hands-on, meaningful projects, this model stimulates curiosity and problem-solving, while also embedding entrepreneurial characteristics such as creativity, innovation, responsibility, independence, social communication, and age-appropriate financial literacy. This study explores how project-based learning contributes to the development of entrepreneurial traits in early childhood. It focuses on how learning processes can bring about character development aligned with children’s developmental stages. The findings reveal that when project-based learning is implemented in a manner consistent with the developmental needs of young children, it can effectively foster core indicators of entrepreneurship. These include children's ability to generate innovative ideas, take initiative, act responsibly, communicate effectively in social settings, and manage simple financial tasks. The support of the surrounding environment—particularly the roles of parents and teachers—is crucial in nurturing entrepreneurial values. Their active involvement in the learning process enhances the effectiveness of project-based learning in instilling an entrepreneurial spirit among young children

Abstract

Leadership development is very fast, very influential on the condition of leadership itself. Where, every leader is required to be able to improve the quality of their leadership. Leadership is a process carried out by a leader in moving organizational members to be able to work together to achieve organizational goals effectively and efficiently. The quality of a person's process of leading greatly determines the effectiveness of his leadership in achieving the goals of the organization. An effective leader of course is when able to synergize the goals of individuals, groups and organizations. Leadership is not only limited to calculations and planning, doing checklists, even rational analysis, but leadership is also the ability to touch the hearts, feelings and emotions of members. The method used in this study is the Systematic Literature Review (SLR) method. The SLR method is used to identify, review, evaluate, and interpret all available research with topic areas of interest to phenomena, with specific relevant research questions. With the use of the SLR method, a systematic review and identification of journals can be carried out, which in each process follows the steps or protocols that have been set. The results showed that the dominant leadership style used in effective leadership is transformational leadership.

Abstract

Critical thinking is an essential competence for students in facing real-life challenges, requiring the ability to analyze, evaluate, and synthesize information effectively. However, traditional lecture-based instruction in economics often limits students' opportunities to develop these higher-order thinking skills. This study examines the effect of the Discovery Learning model on students' critical thinking abilities in economics learning at the high school level. A quasi-experimental method with a non-equivalent control group design was employed, involving class X students at SMA Negeri 1 Ciniru. The experimental group received instruction through the Discovery Learning model, which emphasizes student-centered exploration and knowledge construction, while the control group used conventional lecture methods. Data were collected using pre-test and post-test instruments measuring critical thinking competencies, and analyzed using N-Gain and t-test procedures. The findings demonstrate that Discovery Learning significantly enhances students' critical thinking abilities compared to traditional instruction, with the experimental group showing substantial improvement in higher cognitive categories. These results align with constructivist theories proposed by Bruner, Ennis, and Paul & Elder, confirming that active learning approaches facilitate deeper cognitive development. However, implementation challenges including time constraints and classroom management complexities were identified. Future research should explore larger, more diverse samples and investigate the integration of complementary pedagogical strategies to optimize learning outcomes.

Abstract

This study investigates how peer environment and learning motivation influence students' interest in pursuing higher education at SMA Negeri 1 Ciniru, Kuningan Regency. The research was motivated by school tracer study data revealing that a substantial majority of recent graduates entered the workforce immediately after graduation rather than continuing to universities or colleges. This pattern suggests potential barriers or influences affecting students' educational decision-making processes. Through a quantitative survey methodology, the study examined eleventh-grade students selected via purposive sampling techniques. A structured Likert-scale questionnaire administered through Google Forms assessed students' peer environment characteristics, learning motivation levels, and intentions regarding higher education. Rigorous statistical analysis using multiple linear regression in SPSS included comprehensive validity testing, reliability assessment, and verification of regression assumptions. Both simultaneous and partial hypothesis testing procedures were employed to examine the relationships among variables. Results indicated significant positive influences of both peer environment and learning motivation on students' higher education interest, with learning motivation exhibiting the stronger relationship. The findings have important practical implications, suggesting that educational interventions should prioritize enhancing intrinsic learning motivation while simultaneously fostering positive peer dynamics. Schools should implement career guidance programs, peer mentoring initiatives, and motivational enhancement strategies to improve higher education enrollment rates among graduates.

Abstract

The implementation of the green campus concept in higher education institutions is crucial for achieving Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly SDG 11 (Sustainable Cities and Communities) and SDG 13 (Climate Action). This study evaluates the implementation of the green campus concept at Kuningan University (UNIKU) through a mixed-method approach. Data were collected through observations, interviews with university management, and questionnaires distributed to 100 students. The results indicate that UNIKU has implemented several green campus initiatives, including waste management systems, energy efficiency programs, and green infrastructure development. However, challenges persist, including limited student participation (only 30% actively involved), inadequate maintenance of open spaces, and the absence of an integrated waste management system. The study reveals that 80% of students are aware of green campus efforts, yet 60% lack knowledge about specific environmental activities organized by the university. This research contributes to understanding the barriers and enablers of green campus implementation in Indonesian higher education institutions and provides recommendations for enhancing sustainability practices through the 5P movement (Perawatan, Pemeliharaan, Pengurangan, Pengelolaan, dan Pendidikan).

Abstract

This research examines the role of time, continuity, and change concepts in Social Studies (IPS) education, particularly history learning, and their relationship with student identity formation, social dynamics, and young generation's perspectives toward the past. History education is expected to foster national identity, critical thinking abilities, and historical consciousness. However, in practice, history learning often becomes trapped in fact and date memorization, disconnected from students' current reality, resulting in low interest in learning history. This study employs a qualitative descriptive approach with emphasis on document analysis (IPS curriculum, textbooks, and scientific literature), which can conceptually be enriched through interview and observation techniques in history learning. The theoretical framework relies on concepts of time, continuity, and change in history; the nature of IPS education as integration of social sciences; and various philosophies of history education (perennialism, essentialism, humanism, and social reconstruction). Findings indicate that history contributes significantly to student identity formation through collective national narratives and shared historical experiences. Understanding continuity and change helps students read social dynamics: what changes and what persists in society. Students' perspectives toward the past are influenced by formal education, family memory, media narratives, and quality of historical literacy in the digital era. While the Indonesian IPS curriculum incorporates dimensions of time, continuity, and change, classroom implementation often remains textual and memorization-oriented. The main challenges in history learning include low student interest, monotonous methods, gaps between official narratives and critical perspectives, and information floods (including historical distortions) in digital media. This research recommends strengthening more interactive, contextual, and critical IPS learning through inquiry approaches, projects, digital media utilization, and local history integration, ultimately forming a young generation with historical consciousness, strong identity, and ability to wisely comprehend social changes.

Abstract

Environmental literacy has become a critical competency in higher education, particularly in shaping future educators who will influence environmental awareness across society. This study investigates the environmental literacy levels among Economic Education students at Kuningan University, Indonesia, recognizing their pivotal role as future change agents in educational settings. Using a descriptive quantitative approach, data were collected from students through a structured questionnaire assessing five key dimensions: environmental knowledge, attention to environmental issues, environmental sensitivity, attitudes toward the environment, and pro-environmental behavior. The instrument was adapted from the Middle School Environmental Literacy Survey to ensure validity and reliability in measuring these interconnected components of environmental literacy. Results revealed a concerning gap between theoretical understanding and practical environmental action. While students demonstrated adequate environmental knowledge, they exhibited significantly lower levels in practical dimensions including attention, sensitivity, attitudes, and behavior. This discrepancy suggests that cognitive understanding alone does not automatically translate into environmental consciousness or sustainable practices. The study concludes that environmental literacy education needs fundamental strengthening through experiential learning approaches, community-based environmental projects, and comprehensive campus-wide sustainability initiatives. These interventions are essential to bridge the knowledge-action gap among future educators, enabling them to model and promote genuine environmental stewardship in their professional careers. The findings carry significant implications for curriculum development and pedagogical approaches in higher education institutions committed to advancing environmental sustainability.
