Abstract

This study aims to analyze the implementation of holistic education based on the integration of science and religion at PSDKU Universitas Brawijaya Kediri. Holistic education emphasizes the development of humans as complete individuals, covering cognitive, affective, psychomotor, social, and spiritual domains. The integration of science and religion in higher education serves as a strategic effort to cultivate intellectual competence alongside moral and religious awareness. This study employed a qualitative research design with data collected through observation, interviews, and documentation. The findings show that the integration has been realized through curriculum design that incorporates religious values, student-centered learning models, and campus organizational activities that nurture ethical and spiritual character. In addition, lecturers play a role as facilitators who encourage reflective thinking, scientific inquiry, and moral responsibility. Meanwhile, student organizations contribute to the formation of religious culture on campus through mentoring, discussions, and faith-based community activities. The implementation of holistic education at PSDKU UB Kediri contributes positively to shaping students’ identity as intellectually strong and morally conscious individuals. This research highlights the importance of harmonizing scientific understanding and religious values in developing an educational environment that not only produces knowledgeable graduates but also responsible and ethical members of society.

Abstract

Bullying in schools remains a significant social issue that affects students' psychological, social, and academic development. This study aims to analyze bullying phenomena in schools through the perspective of symbolic interactionism. The research positions bullying as a social construct formed through interaction, interpretation, and the exchange of meanings among students. This study employed a qualitative literature review approach by examining relevant journals, books, and scientific publications concerning bullying and symbolic interactionism. The findings indicate that bullying appears in verbal, physical, social, and cyber forms. These behaviors are sustained through social meanings, labeling processes, and power relations within peer groups. Negative labeling influences victims' self-concept, confidence, social relationships, and learning motivation. The study also highlights the important role of teachers and schools in preventing bullying through supervision, supportive communication, and character education programs.

Abstract

Curriculum is a fundamental component of every educational institution, yet determining an appropriate curriculum remains a significant challenge. Pondok Modern Darul Ihsan Nganjuk addresses this issue by integrating multiple curricula into its educational system. This study examines the institution’s curriculum integration through Robin Fogarty’s framework of curriculum integration models. Using a qualitative approach, the research identifies the integration model applied and evaluates its implications for curriculum implementation. The findings indicate that the Arabic language curriculum primarily reflects the Integrated Model, which connects Arabic instruction with various fields of Islamic studies at the junior and senior secondary levels. In addition, the curriculum incorporates elements of the Nested Model by integrating multiple skills, concepts, and learning standards within individual lessons. These findings demonstrate that the institution adopts a comprehensive curriculum integration approach to enhance the effectiveness of Arabic language learning.

Abstract

This article examines the concept of public policy and Islamic education policy, as well as their implementation within Indonesia’s national education system. Public policy serves as a strategic instrument employed by the government to address societal issues and achieve national development goals, including those in the educational sector. Within this framework, Islamic education policy represents an integral component of public educational policy that aims not only to develop intellectual competencies but also to cultivate moral, spiritual, and religious values among learners. This study employs a qualitative descriptive approach through literature review and document analysis of relevant academic sources concerning public policy and Islamic education in Indonesia. The findings indicate that Islamic education has been institutionally integrated into the national education system through madrasahs, pesantren (Islamic boarding schools), Islamic higher education institutions, and the inclusion of Islamic Religious Education in public schools. The implementation of Islamic education policy is reflected in curriculum integration, institutional strengthening, teacher competency development, and the utilization of digital technology in educational processes. Nevertheless, several challenges remain, including disparities in educational quality across regions, limited educational facilities and infrastructure, and the uneven adoption of digital learning technologies. Therefore, stronger collaboration among government institutions, educational organizations, and society is required to enhance the effectiveness of Islamic education policies and improve the overall quality of national education. The study concludes that Islamic education policy plays a significant role in fostering competent, ethical, and religiously grounded citizens while supporting the broader objectives of Indonesia’s national education system.

Abstract

This study investigates how the takror method is implemented and how it contributes to students’ learning discipline at Darul Ihsan Modern Islamic Boarding School Payaman Nganjuk. Although takror is widely practiced in Islamic boarding schools, its role in fostering learning discipline has received limited scholarly attention. This qualitative study employed a case study design. Data were collected through observations, interviews, and documentation involving school administrators, class supervisors, dormitory supervisors, and students. The findings show that takror is conducted regularly every evening through reviewing previous lessons and preparing upcoming materials under close supervision. The method enhances students’ learning discipline by improving schedule adherence, learning responsibility, class readiness, and time management. The study concludes that the takror method functions not only as a learning strategy but also as an effective approach to developing disciplined character in the Islamic boarding school environment.
