Abstract

This research aims to improve student learning outcomes on the human digestive system through the application of the Role Playing learning method in grade V of SD Negeri 200108/12 Padangsidimpuan. The problem faced in this study is the low learning outcomes of students in science subjects. Based on initial observations, it is known that many students have not reached the Minimum Completeness Criteria (KKM). Therefore, this research was carried out using the Role Playing learning model, which is expected to increase students' understanding of the material taught. The method used in this study is Class Action Research which is carried out in two cycles. Each cycle consists of two meetings involving active learning activities, in which students are acted out in a drama or role related to the human digestive system. The data collected included student test results, observation sheets of student and teacher activities, and reflections carried out each cycle. The results of the study showed that there was a significant increase in student learning outcomes, where the percentage of students who completed in the first cycle reached 69.23%, and in the second cycle increased to 84.61%. In addition, teacher and student activities have also increased, with the percentage of completeness of teacher activities in the second cycle reaching 100%. From these results, it can be concluded that the use of the Role Playing method is effective in improving student learning outcomes, especially in the material of the human digestive system. However, there are still some obstacles, such as time management that needs to be further improved. This study provides recommendations for the application of the Role Playing method as an alternative learning that can increase students' active participation in the learning process.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the use of Indonesian language by students of the Cosmetology Education Study Program at Medan State University, with a focus on identifying language errors in academic communication. This study uses a qualitative descriptive method with data obtained through an open questionnaire administered to 12 students. The analysis was conducted on four categories of language problems, namely syntactic errors, morphological errors, code-mixing, and the use of informal expressions in formal contexts. The results showed that syntactic errors were the most dominant (36%). Other errors included morphology (24%), code-mixing (22%), and the use of informal language in formal situations (18%). The dominance of syntactic errors reflects students' weak ability to construct effective sentences, while the tendency to code-mix is influenced by the use of foreign terms in the field of cosmetology. These findings highlight the importance of strengthening academic literacy, writing training, and adapting foreign terms into Indonesian to support effective academic communication.

Abstract

Penelitian ini dilaksanakan di SDN 0401 Pasar Ujung Batu dengan tujuan mengembangkan multimedia interaktif berbasis Canva pada mata pelajaran Ilmu Pengetahuan Alam dan Sosial (IPAS) kelas V dengan topik Indonesiaku Kaya Raya. Metode penelitian menggunakan model Research and Development (R&D) dengan pendekatan ADDIE yang mencakup tahap analisis, desain, pengembangan, implementasi, dan evaluasi. Pada tahap pengembangan, produk divalidasi oleh ahli media, materi, soal, dan bahasa untuk memastikan kelayakan. Hasil validasi menunjukkan bahwa multimedia interaktif memenuhi kriteria layak hingga sangat layak sehingga dapat digunakan dalam kegiatan pembelajaran di kelas. Temuan ini menegaskan bahwa produk yang dikembangkan telah sesuai dengan standar kualitas media pendidikan. Praktikalitas multimedia interaktif diuji melalui angket guru dan siswa setelah media diterapkan dalam pembelajaran. Rata-rata skor praktikalitas mencapai 87,31% yang tergolong kategori sangat praktis. Efektivitas media ditunjukkan melalui peningkatan hasil belajar siswa dari nilai rata-rata pretest 42,78 menjadi 78,70 pada posttest dengan rata-rata N-Gain sebesar 0,62 dalam kategori sedang. Hasil ini menunjukkan adanya pengaruh signifikan penggunaan multimedia interaktif terhadap pemahaman konsep IPAS. Dengan demikian, pengembangan multimedia interaktif berbasis Canva dinyatakan layak, sangat praktis, dan efektif untuk meningkatkan kualitas pembelajaran IPAS siswa kelas V.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the integration of the Tor-Tor dance into the Merdeka Curriculum as a means of developing character in elementary school students. Tor-Tor dance, as a Batak cultural heritage rich in ethical, social, and spiritual values, has the potential to instill discipline, cooperation, and responsibility among learners. The research employs a qualitative literature review approach, examining curriculum documents, character education theories, and cultural sources related to Tor-Tor dance. The analysis reveals that Tor-Tor dance can serve as an effective learning medium by combining cognitive, affective, and psychomotor aspects while reinforcing local cultural identity. The study emphasizes the importance of incorporating culturally based teaching materials to support character development grounded in the noble values of the nation.

Abstract

Teaching the Indonesian national anthem, Indonesia Raya, in elementary schools often consists only of routine singing activities, so that students do not really understand the national values contained therein. This study introduces flashcards as a new learning tool reviewed from religious, philosophical, and psychological perspectives at the Al-Hidayah Education Foundation. The method used is descriptive qualitative with purposive sampling techniques involving 20 fourth-grade students and one classroom teacher. Information was collected through observation, interviews, and media testing, then analyzed by reducing the data, presenting it, and drawing conclusions using triangulation of sources and methods. The findings of this study indicate that flashcards can increase students' motivation, involvement, and understanding of the meaning of the national anthem. The learning process becomes more engaging, enjoyable, and appropriate for the level of children's cognitive development. From a religious perspective, songs are understood as a form of gratitude to God; from a philosophical aspect, they encourage character development and national awareness; while from a psychological perspective, they are in line with children's visual and interactive learning needs. In this way, flashcards have proven to be an effective tool as a creative medium for instilling national values and strengthening character education at the elementary school level.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the use of learning media by Islamic Religious Education (PAI) teachers to improve students’ understanding of Asmaul Husna in elementary schools. The research employed a qualitative approach with a case study design. Data were collected through semi-structured interviews, observation, and documentation. The findings indicate that teachers implemented a gradual memorization strategy, introducing five names of Allah each semester to match students’ cognitive abilities. Songs were found to be the most effective medium, as they not only facilitated memorization but also helped students comprehend the meaning. In addition, teachers used simple technology such as laptops and smartphones to play songs and videos, as well as supplementary media like flashcards, posters, and worksheets. Technological limitations were overcome through collaboration between teachers and students. Overall, the study concludes that integrating traditional and modern media creates an engaging learning atmosphere, enhances comprehension, and fosters religious values in students from an early age.

Abstract

This article aims to examine the instillation of Pancasila values as a preventive strategy in preventing cyberbullying behavior among adolescents. The prevalence of cyberbullying cases in the digital age indicates a crisis of character and a weak understanding of communication ethics in cyberspace. This study uses a descriptive qualitative method with a literature study approach, through analysis of various sources of books, scientific articles, and relevant previous research results. The results show that Pancasila values, particularly the values of humanity, unity, and social justice, are highly relevant in shaping the moral awareness, ethics, and empathy of adolescents in digital interactions. The instillation of these values is effectively carried out through an integrated approach between character education in schools, the active role of families, and the development of a supportive social environment. Thus, the internalization of Pancasila values not only strengthens the national identity of adolescents but also acts as a moral fortress in facing digital challenges.

Abstract

This study uses observation, interviews, and documentation to explain how elementary school students learn Islamic beliefs. The research subjects consist of lower grade students and Islamic Religious Education (IRE) teachers at SD Pelangi. The findings show that simple habits, role models from parents and teachers, and repetition in daily activities are more effective in instilling beliefs. However, differences in children's characters and inconsistencies in the teaching of beliefs between home and school are major challenges. This study emphasizes the importance of cooperation between families and schools in strengthening the moral development of children from an early age.

Abstract

Islamic Religious Education (IRE) is an important component in shaping the character, morals, and spirituality of students from elementary school age onwards. This study seeks to examine the extent to which PAI learning influences fifth-grade elementary school students' knowledge of Islamic teachings, including the Qur'an, Hadith, Ijma', and Qiyas. The study was conducted at SD IT Al-Hijrah, Deli Serdang Regency, North Sumatra Province, using a descriptive qualitative approach. Data were obtained through observation, interviews, and documentation with fifth-grade teachers as the main informants. The results showed that PAI learning was quite successful in instilling students' understanding of the Qur'an and Hadith, and some of the students' daily practices even reflected the application of these values. However, the material on Ijma' and Qiyas was still limited to basic introduction and had not been studied in depth. Teachers play a major role in guiding students through various methods, setting a good example, and encouraging religious practices at school. However, there are several obstacles, including a homogeneous learning environment and limited use of digital learning media. Overall, PAI learning has been proven to have a positive effect on improving students' knowledge, although innovation is still needed to better suit the needs of the times.

Abstract

This research is based on the low achievement of fourth-grade students in social studies, which have not yet met the established Minimum Completion Criteria. This is due to the teacher-centered learning process, which uses conventional teaching methods. This learning process does not optimally encourage student activity and engagement, creating a monotonous learning environment that results in low student motivation and enthusiasm for learning. This study used the CORE (Connecting, Organizing, Reflecting, Extending) learning model, which emphasizes student-centered learning, where students connect, organize, rethink, and expand their understanding of the learning material. This study employed a nonequivalent control group design with a sample of 72 students (36 students in the control class and 36 students in the experimental class). The research instrument was a multiple-choice test that had been piloted. The data were analyzed using descriptive and inferential statistics. The results indicate that the CORE (connecting, organizing, reflecting, and extending) learning model significantly influences the science learning outcomes of fourth-grade students at MIN 1 Padangsidempuan. This is demonstrated by the hypothesis test calculation using a paired sample t-test, which showed a value of 0.000 < 0.05, thus rejecting H0 and accepting Ha.
