Abstract

The development of digital learning demands the implementation of assessments that can authentically and contextually measure students' competencies, particularly in science education. This research aims to examine the types of authentic assessment, the digital platforms used, and the obstacles and challenges of its implementation in digital science learning. The method used is a systematic literature review of scientific articles published between 2015 and 2024 that are relevant to the topic of authentic assessment and digital learning. The study results indicate that authentic assessment in digital science learning is dominated by project-based assessment, performance assessment, and digital portfolios supported by a learning management system, virtual laboratories, and e-portfolios. Although authentic assessment has proven capable of increasing student engagement and higher-order thinking skills, its implementation still faces pedagogical, technological, and institutional challenges. These findings confirm the need to strengthen teacher competencies, infrastructure support, and assessment policies that are adaptable to digital learning.

Abstract

Banyumulek Village in West Lombok, West Nusa Tenggara, is an ecotourism area based on pottery crafts that integrates cultural preservation, utilization of local natural resources, and community economic empowerment. This study aims to construct the community’s knowledge of the pottery-making process into scientific concepts and to identify its potential as an ethnoscience-based science learning resource. A qualitative descriptive approach was employed through field observations, in-depth interviews with artisans and collectors, and questionnaires administered to teachers and students. The research instruments were validated by experts, and data were analyzed through data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. The results indicate that each stage of pottery production (from raw material collection, clay processing, shaping, drying, firing, to coloring) embodies scientific principles, including physical and chemical properties of materials, force and motion, heat transfer, and physical and chemical changes. These findings demonstrate that the traditional practices of the Banyumulek community are strongly aligned with scientific concepts. This study contributes to the development of ethnoscience studies and provides an empirical basis for designing contextual and local-wisdom-based science learning resources.

Abstract

Abdominal computed tomography (CT) is a widely used diagnostic imaging modality but may result in relatively high exposure to ionizing radiation. Therefore, radiation dose evaluation is necessary to ensure patient safety in accordance with optimization principles. This study aimed to analyze the distribution of radiation doses in non-contrast abdominal CT examinations for adult patients at RSUD Province of West Nusa Tenggara based on Computed Tomography Dose Index volume (CTDIvol) and Dose Length Product (DLP), and to compare the results with the Indonesian Diagnostic Reference Level (IDRL) established by BAPETEN. A descriptive quantitative method with an observational approach was applied to 60 adult patient data collected from July to August 2024. CTDIvol and DLP values were obtained from the CT scanner workstation and analyzed using descriptive statistics. The results showed an average CTDIvol of 14.86 mGy with a 75th percentile of 16 mGy, and an average DLP of 775.87 mGy·cm with a 75th percentile of 838 mGy·cm. Overall, the radiation dose values were below the IDRL limits set by BAPETEN in 2021, although several cases exceeded the reference. These findings indicate that the abdominal CT scanning protocol at RSUD Province of West Nusa Tenggara generally complies with radiation dose optimization standards.
