Abstract

The community service program by KKN students in Prapat Janji Village, Asahan Regency, was motivated by the lack of visual identity in the village, which hindered local orientation and administration. The main objective of this activity was to improve the spatial order of the village by installing name signs in the 11 existing hamlets. The implementation method included several stages: designing the signs, socializing with village officials and the community, dividing tasks among the team, and executing the installation directly at the designated locations. Daily evaluations were conducted to ensure the effectiveness and positive responses from the community. Findings showed that the name signs were successfully installed at strategic points, were aesthetically pleasing, and strengthened the collective identity of the residents. Challenges such as bad weather, access to materials, and distances between hamlets were overcome through teamwork and active participation from the community. The implications of this activity not only enhanced the spatial order of the village but also fostered a sense of ownership and pride among the residents, as well as facilitated access for outsiders, such as couriers and visitors to the village.

Abstract

The Community Service Program (KKN) in Balai Kasih Village focuses on transforming the promotion of local Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) through a hybrid strategy that effectively combines traditional and digital media platforms. The selected target MSMEs in this program are Tape Ketan and Tape Ubi Pak Permadi, located specifically in Dusun IV. Prior to the intervention, these businesses lacked a clear location identity, official branding, and digital connectivity, which hindered customer accessibility and recognition. To address this issue, The KKN team facilitated the installation of informative identity banners and successfully registered the businesses on Google Maps on August 30, 2025. Using a participatory approach, this intervention demonstrated an increase in business visibility, making it easier for consumers to find locations online while strengthening trust at the local level. This study confirms that combining physical and digital promotion can improve the accessibility of village SMEs, open up broader market access, and provide a practical model for inclusive digital transformation-based economic empowerment.

Abstract

Background: Over time, the need for cesarean sections for pregnant women is increasing. Patients who have undergone surgery often experience common problems when they are hospitalized after surgery. Postoperative pain is one of the most common postoperativ e problems. One non -pharmacological method for managing pain is the Benson relaxation technique. Objective: This Community Service (PkM) aims to reduce pain in post -cesarean section patients using the Benson Relaxation Technique. Method: The Benson relaxat ion technique was applied directly twice for 15 minutes, two hours after surgery, as part of the community service activity. The Numerical Rating Scale (NRS) was used to measure pain. The target audience of this PkM was 30 post -operative patients at RSI Purwokerto who experienced pain. Results. Before the intervention, the average pain score was in the moderate range (4.9), and after the intervention, the average pain score was in the mild range (2.3). This was demonstrated by the PkM exercise. 2.13 is the average reduction in pain. Conclusion: The results of this Community Service (PKM) exercise indicate that postoperative pain can be reduced using Benson relaxation.

Abstract

Batik is an Indonesian cultural heritage recognized by UNESCO, rich in artistic, philosophical, and social values. Beyond its cultural significance, batik can serve as a tool for education and empowerment, including for students with special needs. One technique, batik ciprat, is particularly suitable because it is simple, flexible, and easy to adapt, making it an effective medium for inclusive learning. The Community Service Program (KKN) UNS 273, conducted from July to August 2025 at SLB NU Reksosari, Semarang Regency, aimed to enhance students’ vocational skills through batik ciprat training. In addition, the program promoted students’ works through social media as a strategy to support social inclusion and creative economic development. A participatory approach was applied throughout the program, covering preparation, implementation of training, and promotion of students’ creations. The results showed positive responses from the surrounding community, increased students’ self-confidence, and potential collaboration with local SMEs. The program not only preserves the batik culture but also empowers SLB students, opens economic opportunities, and strengthens their participation in social activities. Recommendations for future development include optimizing social media usage, collaborating with local communities, strengthening product branding, integrating e-commerce platforms, and conducting offline activities to enhance promotion and direct engagement with the public.

Abstract

Limitations in the adoption of digital technology are a major challenge for Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) in Subang Regency, which is reflected in the still-manual production process, conventional business management, and limited marketing reach on a local scale. On the other hand, the general public also faces low digital literacy which hinders participation in the modern economy. This community service program aims to address these problems through the design and development of an integrated marketplace platform called BANGKIT (Creative, Innovative, and Complete MSME Shopping). The program implementation method uses a participatory approach that includes three main stages: (1) development of the marketplace platform as a digital showcase for local products; (2) intensive training and mentoring for MSME actors regarding online store management, product photography, and digital marketing strategies; and (3) facilitation of the onboarding process for MSME products into the platform. The results of this activity are the realization of a functional digital economic ecosystem, increased capacity and empowerment of MSME partners, and expanded market reach for local products. This program not only provides concrete solutions for MSMEs, but also supports the achievement of the Key Performance Indicators (KPI) of higher education through the active involvement of lecturers and students in providing direct benefits to the community. Program outputs are disseminated through publications in community service journals, mass media, activity videos, poster works and reports on increasing the level of partner empowerment: management aspects.

Abstract

This community service activity was carried out with the aim of creating a smart and integrated system in the management and sale of merang mushrooms through digital transformation supported by Internet of Things (IoT) technology to improve business operational efficiency. The alternatives provided solve common problems experienced by mushroom farmers, such as limited market access, inefficient management, and lack of direct monitoring of environmental conditions. The approach applied in this study is Rapid Application Development (RAD) which includes needs collection, system design, implementation, and testing. The output of the web-based system includes modules on farm monitoring, product management, financial record-keeping, and online sales. IoT devices are used to monitor temperature and humidity to keep mold growth conditions ideal. Test results show improved operational efficiency, higher data accuracy, and better accessibility for admins and users. The usefulness of this research lies in the combination of IoT technology with a digital business platform specifically designed for mushroom cultivation, thereby providing smart agriculture solutions that support the sustainable growth and competitiveness of agribusiness

Abstract

Farmers often face various occupational safety and health (OSH) risks such as exposure to pesticides, physical injuries, ergonomic discomfort, and unsafe working conditions. In Batukali Village, the implementation of agricultural OSH principles is still low, which has an impact on the welfare of farmers. This community service aims to implement a Safety Farming Village, which includes hazard identification, risk management, and risk control through the provision of personal protective equipment (PPE) to improve OSH practices among farmers. The methods used in this community service program included training on OSH implementation through focus group discussions (FGDs), discussions, lectures, and measuring improvements through pre-tests and post-tests, as well as qualitative evaluation through in-depth interviews. The results showed a significant increase in knowledge during the training. Hazard identification and risk management documents were compiled, and there was a reduction in unsafe actions and unsafe conditions, as well as an increase in the effectiveness of the tools used in accordance with ergonomics. The conclusion confirms that the Safety Farming model has the potential to be an effective intervention in agricultural areas and can be replicated

Abstract

This activity begins with checking the mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) systems at the Gunung Mas Building in Madiun City, to assist in the process of issuing a Certificate of Functional Worthiness (SLF). The inspection included electrical power capacity, main distribution panels (MDP and SDP), lightning protection systems, light fire extinguishers (APAR), and pipe or plumbing installations such as clean water channels, waste water channels, and rain drainage. The results showed that the installed power was 105 KVA from PLN, the distribution panel, and cable sizes generally met safety standards (SNI and IEEE). However, several problems were found such as a load imbalance exceeding 10%, the lack of measuring instruments on the panel, and cable sizes that needed to be adjusted to the rating of the protective device. Plumbing installations such as a clean water source with a 2000 liter roof tank, waste disposal to a septic tank, and rainwater channels to the city channel were still running well, although repairs were needed to the bathroom in the putty area. Overall, the building was declared suitable, with recommendations for improving load distribution, adjusting cable sizes, and routine maintenance.

Abstract

Hypothermia is a common complication in postoperative patients with spinal anesthesia, which can increase the risk of bleeding, delay healing, and reduce patient comfort. One non-pharmacological intervention to prevent this condition is the use of Hot Packs. This community service activity aims to implement Hot Packs as an effort to increase body temperature in postoperative hypothermic patients with spinal anesthesia at Cilacap Regional Hospital. The implementation method involved 30 participants selected through screening of patients with body temperatures <36°C. The intervention was carried out by placing a Hot Pack on the back of the neck for 15 minutes, then the patient's body temperature was measured using a tympanic thermometer before and after the intervention. The analysis results showed a significant increase in body temperature, from an average of 35.2°C before the intervention to 36.0°C afterward, with an average difference of 0.777°C (SD 0.467°C) and a p value = 0.000. These findings prove that the implementation of Hot Packs is effective in increasing the body temperature of hypothermic patients after spinal anesthesia. This intervention is considered simple, economical, and easy to apply by health workers in daily clinical practice.

Abstract

The low awareness of students at MA Syamsul Ma’arif, Kebonmanggu Village, regarding the importance of higher education is the main focus of this community service program. Tilaar (2000) emphasizes that education is a strategic instrument in shaping independent and competitive human resources, while Psacharopoulos and Patrinos (2018) state that higher education has a direct correlation with increased income and social mobility. However, most students at MA Syamsul Ma’arif tend to choose to work in the industrial sector immediately after graduation. As Darmaningtyas (2004) explains, economic pressure, limited access to educational information, and weak social support are the main obstacles to continuing education. To address this issue, the program was carried out through socialization activities using lectures, discussions, and Q&A sessions, evaluated with pre-test and post-test methods. The results showed a significant improvement: students’ understanding of the urgency of higher education increased by 63.5%, knowledge of entry pathways and scholarships by 65.9%, and motivation to pursue further studies by 64%. These findings indicate that the socialization program was effective in raising students’ awareness of the importance of higher education and can serve as a replicable model for other regions, particularly in industrial-based areas.
