Jurnal Aksi dan Inovasi Sosial dengan nomor registrasi ISSN 3089-7556 (online) merupakan jurnal multidisiplin yang diterbitkan oleh Lembaga Saintify Publish. Jurnal ini memuat banyak permasalahan secara umum yang terjadi dalam masyarakat. Setiap naskah yang dikirimkan akan dibaca oleh tim editorial. Naskah yang dievaluasi oleh editor dan dianggap tidak sesuai dengan kriteria jurnal akan ditolak tanpa review. Kemudian naskah yang mempunyai minat khusus pembaca dikirimkan ke peer reviewer, dengan 2 (dua) reviewer berbeda untuk setiap artikel. Tim editorial mengambil keputusan berdasarkan rekomendasi pengulas. Jurnal Aksi dan Inovasi Sosial diterbitkan dua kali setahun. Dewan Redaksi mengundang penulis untuk mengirimkan naskah terbaik untuk diterbitkan di jurnal ini.

Abstract

Children with special needs (ABK) are children who have special limitations academically. They are at higher risk of developing disease compared to other children in general. One of the diseases that often attacks children is caused by bacterial and viral infections from the environment. One way to suppress infectious diseases is to wash your hands properly. The main aim of this activity is to teach crew members how to wash their hands properly and correctly so they can be better and more independent in maintaining their health. This activity is carried out using counseling and practice methods to increase knowledge of how to wash hands correctly by applicable standards. This activity was attended by students with various kinds of special needs consisting of various levels and also teachers at SLB Galesong, Takalar Regency. The results of the activity show that students can follow the hand-washing movements correctly and the school is very enthusiastic about community service activities. This activity has a positive influence on students' ability to apply the correct hand-washing method, this is proven by an increase in students' ability to practice good and correct hand-washing steps

Abstract

Providing literacy to enhance understanding for children with special needs is an effort to improve their quality of life, particularly in the health sector. By imparting knowledge related to personal hygiene behavior, it is hoped that children with special needs can live independently by maintaining cleanliness and good health. The goal of this community service activity is to increase awareness of the importance of personal hygiene behavior in daily life through cooperative learning. Literacy was taught using interactive methods and cooperative learning, incorporating images and videos to enhance student engagement with the material. The results of this activity indicate an improvement in pre- and post-test evaluations. Students were able to comprehend the personal hygiene behavior subject by answering questions and providing real-life examples.

Abstract

Anemia continues to be a public health concern that mostly affects children, adolescents, women going through menstruation, and pregnant and postpartum women. Anemia in teenage girls must be prevented since it can have long-term effects that extend into adulthood and significantly increase the risk of maternal death, preterm birth, and low birth weight baby. One way to reduce anemia in young women is to raise awareness and comprehension of the condition. This community service project aims to inform young women about anemia, its effects, and methods for preventing anemia. The female students at Nurul Al Iman Islamic Boarding School, specifically the young ladies between the ages of 13 and 18, who are enrolled in middle and high school, were the targets of this initiative. The Nurul Al Iman Islamic Boarding School, located in Moncongloe Bulu Village, Moncongloe District, Maros Regency, South Sulawesi, was the site of this community service project. Events happened in a way that was convenient and orderly. 58 female students and three administrators from female Islamic boarding schools attended the event. The participants paid close attention to the information presented, and at the conclusion, there were discussions and Q&A sessions about anemia in young women. It is envisaged that this anemia-related educational activity will raise awareness and lower the risk of anemia in young women.

Abstract

Early childhood is a child whose age has not yet entered a formal educational institution such as elementary school, usually they stay at home or take part in activities in the form of various preschool educational institutions, such as play groups, kindergartens or child care centers. This counseling aims to increase young children's understanding of the importance of washing their hands properly and brushing their teeth properly. The method used in carrying out community service program activities is that the implementation team divides activities into counseling, guidance and mentoring. The results show that from the counseling regarding PHBS at SDN 297 Kondo, it was found that 17 out of 21 students experienced an increase in knowledge about PHBS after being given the counseling, 80.9%.

Abstract

Promosi konsumsi pangan sumber protein hewani kepada balita dapat dilakukan sebagai salah satu bentuk edukasi kepada orang tua dan pengasuh agar dapat memberikan MP-ASI kaya protein hewani kepada balita sebagai upaya pencegahan stunting. Tujuan dari kegiatan ini adalah memberikan edukasi terkait MP-ASI kaya protein hewani untuk meningkatkan pengetahuan orang tua balita sebagai upaya pencegahan stunting. Metode yang digunakan yaitu edukasi melalui kegiatan penyuluhan dengan metode ceramah disertai tanya jawab menggunakan media leaflet dan print out slide power point. Kegiatan penyuluhan dilakukan di Posyandu Bangkala dan Puskesmas Tamalanrea dengan peserta orang tua yang memiliki balita berjumlah 30 orang. Evaluasi kegiatan dilakukan dengan pemberian pre-post test menggunakan kuisioner untuk melihat bagaimana perubahan pengetahuan peserta setelah diberikan edukasi. Hasil kegiatan menunjukkan terjadi peningkatan pengetahuan yang signifikan pada orang tua balita setelah diberikan edukasi terkait materi MP-ASI kaya protein hewani. Peningkatan pengetahuan diharapkan dapat membantu orang tua dalam menerapkan sikap dan perilaku di rumah khususnya terkait pemberian MP-ASI kaya protein hewani untuk mencegah stunting.

Abstract

Overweight and obesity have emerged as significant global health issues, especially in Indonesia. This issue impacts not just physical appearance but also elevates the risk of several chronic ailments, including hypercholesterolemia, which may lead to heart disease. Routine cholesterol assessments are crucial for the early identification of hypercholesterolemia. The community service was a comprehensive cholesterol assessment accompanied by health education on hypercholesterolemia and its associated problems. The examination results indicated that 74% of people were overweight or obese, while the remainder had normal weight; moreover, 67% exhibited elevated cholesterol levels. Enhancing public knowledge of the significance of sustaining body weight within the normative range and adopting a healthy lifestyle may mitigate the incidence of metabolic illnesses in the future.

Abstract

Children are the hopes for the next generation for their parents. Therefore, it is essential to raise and care for them properly, while also closely monitoring their growth and development. Healthy growth and development aligned with their age will lead to the best outcomes. Issues in growth and development often arise when toddlers do not receive enough stimulation. This could be due to a lack of awareness among parents regarding the proper stimulation required at each stage of a toddler's growth and development. The method used aims to share information about children's growth and development through counseling. The target audience for this service activity is parents with children aged one to six years. As a result, the activities carried out aim to broaden knowledge, as well as parents' understanding and awareness of the importance of their children's growth and development.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the prevalence of undernutrition among schoolchildren and assess their nutritional status based on Body Mass Index-for-Age (BMI/A). Conducted at SD Negeri 5 Tamalatea, Jeneponto Regency, the study involved 60 respondents selected for nutritional assessment and educational intervention. The findings revealed that the average age of respondents was 10.8 ± 0.9 years, with 68.4% aged over 10 years. Gender distribution showed a higher proportion of females (56.7%) compared to males (43.3%). The mean BMI was 16.8 ± 2.8, reflecting considerable variability in nutritional status. Most participants (73.3%) were classified as having normal nutritional status, while 11.7% were undernourished, and 15.0% were classified as overweight. Nutritional assessments were performed using validated tools, followed by educational sessions addressing factors influencing nutritional status, prevention of undernutrition, and the importance of balanced dietary practices. While the majority of respondents exhibited normal nutritional status, the presence of undernourished and overweight individuals highlights the need for targeted interventions. This study underscores the importance of regular monitoring and comprehensive nutritional assessments in school settings to detect and address nutritional disparities. The findings provide a foundation for designing evidence-based programs aimed at improving dietary behaviors and promoting optimal growth among school-aged children.

Abstract

Masalah gizi utama di Indonesia saat ini adalah stunting, wasting dan obesitas, serta kekurangan zat gizi mikro seperti anemia. Pemberdayaan masyarakat di bidang kesehatan melalui pembentukan tenaga pendamping yang dikenal dengan sebutan kader merupakan salah satu upaya untuk mengatasi masalah tersebut. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk melihat pengaruh edukasi gizi terhadap peningkatan pengetahuan kader tentang gizi seimbang di Puskesmas Jurumudi Baru Kota Tangerang. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian quasi eksperimental dengan pre dan post-test menggunakan analisis statistic yaitu uji t-dependen. Sampel penelitian ini berjumlah 53 orang. Pengambilan data menggunkan kuisioner. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa terdapat perbedaan pengetahuan kader sebelum dan sesudah edukasi gizi seimbang di Puskesmas Jurumudi Baru Kota Tangerang p-value sebesar 0.000 (p<0.5). Edukasi gizi yang diberikan dapat meningkatkan pengetahuan kader tentang gizi seimbang.

Abstract

ABSTRACT Occupational health and safety (OHS) is a crucial issue in various environments, including schools. One important component of OHS is preparedness in handling accidents. This activity aims to provide basic knowledge about first aid in the school environment, specifically for students of SMP Cokroaminoto Makassar. The activity began with a pre-test to assess the students' initial understanding of first aid. Next, an interactive outreach session was conducted to provide information about various first aid techniques. The activity concluded with a post-test to evaluate the improvement in students' knowledge after participating in the activity. The results showed that the first aid education successfully enhanced the participants' knowledge and skills in handling various types of accident-related injuries. This was evident from the participants' ability to answer questions posed by the community service team. Kata Kunci: Alert, Disaster, First Aid. ABSTRAK Keselamatan dan kesehatan kerja (K3) merupakan hal yang sangat krusial di berbagai lingkungan, termasuk di sekolah. Salah satu komponen penting dalam K3 adalah kesiapan dalam menghadapi kecelakaan. Kegiatan ini bertujuan untuk memberikan pemahaman dasar tentang pertolongan pertama pada kecelakaan di lingkungan sekolah, khususnya bagi siswa SMP Cokroaminoto Makassar. Kegiatan dimulai dengan pre-test untuk menilai pemahaman awal siswa terkait pertolongan pertama. Kemudian, dilakukan penyuluhan secara interaktif untuk memberikan informasi mengenai berbagai teknik pertolongan pertama. Kegiatan ini diakhiri dengan post-test guna menilai peningkatan pengetahuan siswa setelah mengikuti kegiatan tersebut. Hasilnya, edukasi mengenai pertolongan pertama telah berhasil meningkatkan pengetahuan dan keterampilan peserta dalam menangani berbagai jenis cedera akibat kecelakaan. Hal ini terbukti melalui kemampuan peserta dalam menjawab pertanyaan yang diajukan oleh tim pelaksana kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat. Kata Kunci: Siaga, Bencana, Pertolongan pertama.
