Abstract

The usage of animation as learning aids is believed to have beenimproved students performance. Prior research, however, showsvarious results of the effectiveness of animation as a learning aids,depending on which level of learning and who the learner is. In somesituation, static graphical illustration is actually more useful thananimation. Once we decide to use animation for learning, we have tocarefully design it. Designing effective educational animation can betricky. The designer has consider several factors such as the learnercharacteristics, the format of the animation, the graphical quality, etc.In the end, animation is merely a tool, hence how we use it is highlydependant on the pedagogical goals.

Abstract

The emergence of computer software into education and learningsector has to be understood seriously by teachers, parents andeducational staff, including stakeholders. Using the computersoftware improperly basically could give some bad impacts forstudents’ development. On the other hands, computer has acapability to bring such positive impacts for the students’ growth andknowledge. Therefore, teachers, parents and instructionaldevelopment must pay a serious attention to some aspects that couldharm students. The excellent understanding about computerutilization effectively will decrease the negative risk of computersoftware utilization. By designing and developing computer softwareusing the students’ instructional and psychological principles willimprove the understanding, promote intellectual intelligence andeven emotional intelligence (EQ) for students. Computer softwarecould improve and develop values, help solving the problems, teachstudents to be a multiple thinker and solve the problems by findingnew perspectives.

Abstract

This research aims to improve students’ learning outcome through learning based project on the lecturing of the Development of Audio Media in the Department of Curriculum and Educational Technology School of Education UNY.The type of this research is class action research. The subject of this research is 29 students of Study Program of Educational Technology FIP UNY who are conducting The Development of Audio Media lecturing on academic year 2009/2010. The method of data collection used in this research are test and observation, using the research instrument of test and observation sheet or guidance. The collected data is analised using qualitative descriptive.The research findings show that learning based project could improve students’ outcome on the Development of Audio Media lecturing of Study Program Educational Technology FIP UNY. Moreover, through this research, students become more active in learning process, and the cooperation between students improved significantly.

Abstract

The theory of prescriptive learning am theories and principles pembelajaran that place the condition and learning results as means increasing attention (retention) participants of student against an object of the analysis (the contents of the study field). So that retention increases, then the educator must connect new knowledge with the cognitive structure that was owned. The theory of prescriptive learning suggest that retention increases, then learning begin by putting forward the framework of the contents learning, just afterwards in stages elaborate available parts in the framework of the contents, and permanently connect each elaboration stage in the framework of the contents. Efforts alternative the organising strategy of the contents learning could member the opportunity and facilitate the increase in studying results by applying principles of the elaboration model. The potential for this model apparently in the place arrangement of the contents that more stress the place from the public to rinsi and is accompanied by the existence pensintesis around several procedures that are included in the contents whole that is studied.By referring from theory of the cognitive structure and the process of participants's memory of student, the potential elaboration model moved the formation of the cognitive structure just as the representation of studying results. The contents of the study field that is organised by following the guest plate of principles of the potential public can facilitate the working schemata that is had by participants the student in carrying out the process of the assimilation and accommodation. The theory of elaboration prescribes the organising method pembelajaran by following the place of the public to rins. Abstract

AbstractInformation and Communication Technology (ICT) is a new subject in schools. Therefore, it needs further analysis in the implementation at schools especially in its learning aspects. This article is based on a research in the procedure and factors that will effect the implementation of ICT subject in schools. The results shows two main procedure applied in ICT learning in Senior High School are general and specific procedures. General procedures consist of Planning, Implementation and Evaluation. Specific procedure consist of learning preparation: understanding the standard operation procedure as a requirement in works safety, understanding the ethics in using ICT and entering behavior level. In the learning process, consist of understanding the operating system, peripheral setting, Data management for increasing productivity and software development. In the evaluation process, consist of pencil and paper test, performance test, product evaluation in portfolio. Some factors that affect the ICT implementation are internal factors: teacher (related to achievement motivation and ICT literacy), students, facilities, and external factors: support from schools, society and government.

Abstract

This research and development aimed to compile model study of mathematics inSMP with interaction treatment aptitude (ATI) approach based on portfolio. Datais e collected by observation, interview, and FGD. The research participation isteachers, students, educationist, and policy makers. This research is located in fourpublic SMP and four SMP private sector of Surakarta. The data is analyzed usinginteractive cycle of data collecting, reduction data, data presentation, andwithdrawal of verification or node. The research findings can be summarized thatthe development of mathematics model study with ATI approach based onportfolio and its activities is started from antecedent phase, central activity phase,and last activity phase, with the documentation of all students. Third step isconducted in immeasurable class setting, according to the model of classical,group, and individual context. A small team learning group which has fivemember of students with the difference ability (1 is high, 2 is middle, and 1lowering) with peer tutor in rotation. The antecedent activities include a) review,b) early motivation, and c) apperception.The activity focused on the development of applying concept. The last activityincludes reviewing resume items and conducting the follow-up.

Abstract

Instruction is a critical point to reach positive educationaloutcome. Effective instruction based on two aspects: theteachers and school environment. Effective teachers should havethe ability to organize classrooms and manage the student’sbehavior. To achieve that, teacher should enrich those particularaptitude such as class climate arrangement, managementstrategy, feedback and reinforcement policy, and selfimprovement. Providing effective school environment involveinstructional emphasis, evaluation systems, academicexpectation, discipline, also school and class size. The effort toimprove effective instruction should be provided during thepreservice and inservice teacher program.

Abstract

Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk meningkatkan kedisiplinan masukkegiatan belajar mengajar jam pertama pada siswa kelas VII H SMP Negeri 4Surakarta semester satu tahun 2011/2012.Penelitian ini dilaksanakan di SMP Negeri 4 Surakarta yang terletak diJl. DI Panjaitan No. 14 telp 0271 – 633880, kalurahan Stabelan, KecamatanBanjarsari, Surakarta.Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode tindakankelas yang terdiri dari 2 siklus, yaitu siklus I: layanan konseling individu tanpakonsultasi orang tua dan siklus II: layanan konseling individu dengan konsultasiorang tua.Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa melalui layanan konselingindividu dapat meningkatkan kedisiplinan siswa masuk kegiatan belajar mengajarjam pertama bagi siswa kelas VII H SMP Negeri 4 Surakarta semester satu tahun2011/2012. Terlihat dari kondisi awal kedisiplinan kegiatan belajar mengajar jampertama rata-rata 77 ke kondisi akhir rata-rata 80, meningkat sebesar 3,75%sedangkan nilai terendah mengalami kenaikan sebesar 17,8%.

Abstract

Telah menjadi tradisi di kelas-kelas kita bahwa para guru kita dalammerancang proses pembelajaran belum mampu menciptakan kondi:;ibelajar yang memungk:nkan potensi peserta didik berkembang secaraoptimal. Proses pembelajaran hanya meP.gembangkan belahan, otakkiri yang cenderung berpikir konvergen, dan jarang sekali menyentuhwilayah belahan otak kanan yang cenderung berpikir divergen. Prosespembelajaran mestinya dirancang agar peserta didik mampu berpikiralt~rnatif. Pendekatan pembela.iaran yang digunakan tidak hanyabehavioristik, tetapi pendekatan konstruktivistik juga diperlukan agarpeserta didik terangsang untuk terus belajar (belajar aktif, belajarmenemukan, belajar memecahkan masalah, belajar menyelidiki, danbelajar menghayati). Jika pembelajaran mampu menyeimbangkanperkembangan cara berpikir divergen dan konvergen maka prosesberpikir tingkat tinggi dapat terwlljud, sehingga dengan kemampuanberpikir tingkat tinggi maka persoalan bangsa dapat diatasi dari sisikebermaknaan dan kebenaran substansial

Abstract

The aims of this research is improvements studets ceativity and cognitive achievments through outdoor learning activity at the SMPN 2 Bambanglipuro Bantul.  This research is a classroom action research  with kemmis and Taggart Model. The stage are planning, acting and  observing, reflecting. The research had done in 2 cyclic with topics ingenhouz and sachz experiments. Subject of this research were 30 students in grade VII E. The instruments were teaching guide, worksheet, instructional media, creativity observation sheet, and test of cognitive. Data of instructional process and students creativity were analized by descriptive analysis. Data of students cognitive was analyzed by gain score. The results showed that students creativity increased. It have  three  category of students creativity were poor, fair, and good. In cyclic I, category of poor was 42,38%, fair was 45,17% and good 11,9%. In cyclic II, category of poor was 27,14%, fair was 43,33%, good was 29,53%. The students cognitive has increased from 54,67 in pracyclic, 80,67 in cyclic I, and 96,67 in cyclic II with fair in gain score.
