Abstract

The bandwagon effect, which refers to an individual's tendency to follow the choices of the majority or the party perceived as superior, has become increasingly evident in the digital era through the role of social media, electability surveys, and the massive flow of information. In the context of the 2024 Presidential Election, this phenomenon not only influences the political preferences of the general public but also significantly impacts students, who are at a stage of cognitive and social development that is vulnerable to external influences. This study aims to examine the bandwagon effect in political communication during the 2024 Presidential Election and to examine the urgency of media and political literacy education for students. This study used a qualitative approach with a literature review method, analyzing various sources related to political communication, voter behavior, and media and political literacy in education. The results indicate that low levels of media and political literacy lead students to passively receive information and are easily influenced by majority opinion without verification and critical analysis. This has the potential to weaken the quality of democratic participation and foster a mindset that is not independent.

Abstract

The PISA study reveals that science literacy in Indonesia continues to decline every year. This study aims to examine the effects of the Problem-Based Learning (PBL) model on fifth-grade students’ mastery of science literacy in IPAS instruction. The method used in this study is a quantitative approach through a quasi-experimental design, employing a pretest-posttest control group design. The research was conducted in February 2025. The study population comprised all students from three fifth-grade classes at SDN 56 Pontianak, while the sample was selected using purposive sampling. To collect research data, multiple-choice tests and documentation guidelines were used. Data analysis was then conducted using descriptive statistical tests, followed by tests of assumptions, and concluded with hypothesis testing. The research findings indicate that the average science literacy proficiency of students in the experimental group increased from 47.12 to 68.79, surpassing that of the control group, which rose only from 47.19 to 61.13. This increase confirms that the PBL model successfully facilitated students’ mastery of science through problem-solving. Empirical support is evident from the significance value of 0.020 (< 0.05) and an effect size of 0.673 (moderate category). The conclusion of this study is that the Problem-Based Learning (PBL) model has a significant impact on students’ science literacy skills in fifth-grade IPAS instruction at SDN 56 Pontianak.

Abstract

The implementation of Coding and Artificial Intelligence (KKA) subject in elementary schools is a strategic policy by Indonesia's Ministry of Basic and Secondary Education, introduced in the 2024/2025 academic year under the Merdeka Curriculum framework; however, its implementation still faces various obstacles that have not been comprehensively mapped. This study aims to analyze the challenges, opportunities, research trends, and teacher readiness in the implementation of KKA in Indonesian Elementary Schools. A Systematic Literature Review (SLR) method following the PRISMA 2020 protocol was employed, with literature searches conducted across Google Scholar, SINTA, and Publish or Perish databases covering the period 2022–2026. Of 102 identified articles, 18 met all inclusion criteria and were analyzed thematically. Findings reveal that the primary challenges include insufficient content and pedagogical competencies among teachers, limited technology infrastructure, and the absence of operational curriculum guidelines from the government. Significant opportunities were identified in structured teacher training effectiveness, Merdeka Curriculum policy momentum, and academic community support. Research trends show a shift from basic coding instruction toward artificial intelligence integration within deep learning and computational thinking frameworks. Teacher readiness generally requires improvement, although training interventions have proven effective in significantly closing competency gaps.

Abstract

This study was motivated by the limited digital literacy of students at class VII MTs Az-Zainuddin, particularly in operating word-processing software, and their limited participation in collaborative learning. The purpose of study is to determine the effect Numbered Heads Together learning model integrated with Quizizz on students’ digital literacy. A quantitative experimental approach using a One-Group Pretest–Posttest Design and involved 20 students selected through a total sampling technique. The research was conducted in the even semester from February 24 to March 24, 2026. Data were collected through a digital literacy test, observation, analyzed descriptive and inferential statistics, and including a Paired Sample t-Test. The findings revealed an increase in the mean digital literacy score 51.50 pretest to 77.25 in the posttest. Hypothesis testing yielded a significance value of 0.000 (p < 0.05), indicating that the implementation of the NHT model supported by Quizizz had a statistically significant effect on students' digital literacy competence. Furthermore, the N-Gain score was categorized as moderately effective. These results demonstrate that the integration of a cooperative learning model with a Quizizz has considerable potential to enhance students' digital literacy and may serve as an effective alternative strategy for teaching word processing software applications

Abstract

Students’ ability to produce recount texts still faces several challenges, particularly in developing ideas, organizing sequences of events, and applying appropriate language conventions. This study examines the effect of using Educaplay as a learning medium on the recount text writing skills of tenth-grade students at MA Salafiyah Pekalongan. The study employed a quantitative approach with a One-Group Pretest-Posttest design. The sample consisted of 36 students selected using saturated sampling. Data were collected through recount text writing tests administered before and after the treatment, while observation and documentation were used as supporting data. The data were analyzed using the Shapiro-Wilk test, Paired Sample t-test, and N-Gain with the assistance of SPSS 22. The results showed an increase in the mean score from 51.2961 in the pretest to 83.3325 in the posttest. The Paired Sample t-test yielded a significance value of 0.000 (<0.05), while the N-Gain score of 0.6830 was categorized as moderate. These findings indicate that the use of Educaplay had a significant effect and contributed to improving students’ recount text writing skills after the learning intervention.
