Abstract

The low level of environmental sensitivity among high school students highlights the need to improve the quality of learning. One approach is to transform teaching materials from textual formats into digital ones in the form of e-modules. This study aims to develop a Project-Based Learning (PjBL)-based e-module on environmental change materials, supplemented with videos as a learning medium, that is suitable for use by 10th-grade high school students. The research was conducted from October 2024 to January 2025. The research method used was a qualitative approach through Research and Development (RnD) with the ADDIE model. The research instruments included questionnaires to assess the feasibility of the e-module, evaluated by media, learning, content, and language experts, as well as responses from students and teachers to determine the feasibility of the developed e-module. Based on expert evaluations, the developed e-module was found to be in the "highly feasible" category, with detailed scores as follows: language expert 89%, content expert 86%, media expert 89%, and learning expert 88%.

Abstract

Religious moderation is seen as an important concept in facing the challenges of the times marked by the strengthening of extremism, intolerance, and social division. This study examines Ahmad Syafii Maarif's thoughts on religious moderation and their relevance to implementation in the Islamic Religious Education (PAI) curriculum. Ahmad Syafii Maarif offers a view of moderation rooted in universal Islamic values, such as justice, humanity, tolerance, and respect for diversity as sunnatullah. His thoughts are not only oriented towards religious discourse, but also towards efforts to build a peaceful and inclusive national life. The research method used is qualitative with a library research approach. Primary data were obtained from Ahmad Syafii Maarif's writings, ideas, and thoughts, while secondary data came from literature related to religious moderation, Islamic education, and PAI curriculum documents. Data analysis was carried out using content analysis techniques to examine, interpret, and link the idea of ​​religious moderation with the objectives and implementation of the PAI curriculum. The research results show that religious moderation, according to Ahmad Syafii Maarif, emphasizes a balance between religious practice and respect for differences, strengthening humanitarian ethics, and rejecting all forms of violence and discrimination. This concept is highly relevant to the Islamic Religious Education (PAI) curriculum, which aims to shape students who are faithful, pious, and have noble morals, and who are able to live harmoniously in a pluralistic society.

Abstract

The phenomenon of bullying among high school adolescents is a serious problem that impacts the psychological, social, and academic aspects of students. Therefore, schools need to create a safe, inclusive, and supportive environment through an approach that fosters empathy and solidarity among students. The Buddy Program is presented as a character education innovation that positions students not only as recipients of policies, but also as agents of change in creating a culture of mutual respect and care. This study aims to describe the implementation of the Buddy Program as a bullying prevention strategy at Al Mukhlisin Junior High School (SMP). This study uses a qualitative approach with descriptive methods, through observations of Buddy Program activities, interviews with supervising teachers, students, and the principal, and documentation of activities that support program implementation. The results show that the Buddy Program at SMP Al Mukhlisin is implemented with a mentoring system between students, where senior students become "buddies" or companions for new students.

Abstract

The rapid growth of publications in STEM education highlights the need for a systematic mapping to better understand the direction of research development. This study aims to map publication trends in STEM education research indexed in the Scopus database through bibliometric analysis to identify research development, dominant themes, and future directions. The study employed a descriptive quantitative approach using bibliometric methods. Data were collected from Scopus through PRISMA stages consisting of identification, screening, eligibility, and inclusion, resulting in 377 final articles from 798 initial records, which were analyzed using Biblioshiny and VOSviewer. The findings show that STEM education publications have increased significantly, particularly since 2015, with an annual growth rate of 22.88%. The United States was the leading contributor, followed by China and Australia, while international collaboration indicates the strengthening role of Asia-Pacific countries. Keyword co-occurrence analysis reveals that STEM education research is mainly focused on STEM integration in learning, student learning outcomes, critical thinking and assessment, and the use of technology in teaching and learning..

Abstract

Leadership transformation among Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) academics is crucial for addressing modern systemic challenges, such as the environmental crisis. A learning approach capable of integrating theoretical knowledge with socio environmental realities is required. This study aims to analyze the extent to which a field visit to the Bantar Gebang Integrated Waste Management Site (TPST) encouraged the leadership transformation of 65 physics students, measured through Peter Senge's Five Disciplines of the Learning Organization framework. The research adopts a descriptive qualitative approach with a single case study design. Data collection, following Kolb’s Experiential Learning Cycle (ELC) model (with the visit serving as the Concrete Experience), was conducted in two phases. The first phase involved collecting Structured Reflection Questionnaires (qualitative narratives from N=65) to measure Personal Mastery and Mental Models. The second phase included in-depth interviews (key informants) and document analysis (work programs, minutes) to explore shared vision, team learning, and systems thinking. All data were analyzed using thematic analysis. The visit served as a concrete experience triggering significant paradigm shifts, particularly in the reinforcement of systems thinking Senge's key discipline.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effectiveness of characterization in the folk tale “Singa Perbangsa” from Karawang Regency in improving the understanding of adjectives for foreign speakers learning Indonesian as a Foreign Language (BIPA). This study also focuses on understanding the moral and cultural values contained in the story, such as wise leadership, courage and responsibility, justice and unity, as well as local wisdom and love for the country. The method used is a quasi-experimental design with two groups, namely the experimental group who learned through folk tale texts and the control group who used general narrative texts. The research subjects consisted of 24 foreign students enrolled in the BIPA program at the Indonesia University of Education. The instruments used included an adjective ability test, observation sheets, and a learning interest questionnaire. The results showed a significant increase in adjective comprehension in the experimental group (p < 0.05) with an average increase of 30%, compared to the control group, which only increased by 12%. Qualitative analysis showed that the character Singa Perbangsa helped learners understand the use of adjectives in concrete moral and social contexts. This story also served as a means of cultural diplomacy, introducing the noble values of the Karawang community to the international community.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze teachers' views on the integration of disaster education into geography learning in senior high schools (SMA/MA) in Langsa City. This study used a quantitative descriptive method with a Likert-scale questionnaire completed by 20 teachers from nine schools. The four main indicators examined were knowledge, attitudes, learning practices, and school policy support for the implementation of disaster education. The study findings indicate that teachers have a high level of knowledge about disaster (89.46%) and also show a positive attitude towards the importance of disaster education (86%). School policies are also stated to be supportive (86%). However, the implementation of disaster learning practices is still moderate (56%), influenced by limited facilities, lack of direct student experience, and schools that are not accustomed to conducting routine mitigation activities. Qualitative findings confirm that regular simulations, curriculum integration, strengthening student understanding, and collaboration with external institutions are important steps to improve the effectiveness of disaster education in schools. Therefore, disaster education already has a strong conceptual basis and structural support, but needs to be improved in terms of field practice.

Abstract

This study was motivated by the suboptimal level of students’ scientific communication and collaboration skills in science learning. The purpose of this study was to analyze this relationship. The study was conducted on 46 eighth-grade students at SMP Negeri 1 Wringin. Data were collected using a Likert-scale questionnaire that measured five indicators of scientific communication and five indicators of collaboration. A normality test using the Shapiro–Wilk test showed that the data were normally distributed. Pearson’s correlation analysis yielded a correlation coefficient of 0.678 with a significance level of 0.000. These results indicate a strong and positive relationship between the two skills. Students with better scientific communication skills tend to have higher collaboration skills in science learning. These findings underscore the importance of strengthening scientific communication to improve the effectiveness of group work in the classroom

Abstract

The implementation of the Merdeka Belajar (Independent Learning) Curriculum in Indonesia has sparked a paradigm shift that requires teachers to adapt quickly and effectively in the learning process. This study aims to analyze the performance of elementary school teachers in implementing the Merdeka Curriculum in Pancasila Education for Grades I and IV, focusing on the aspects of planning, implementation, and evaluation. Employing a qualitative approach with a phenomenological design, the study involved teachers from SDN 053 Cisitu, SDN 208 Luginasari, and SDN 139 Sukarasa in Bandung City. Data were collected through direct observation, in-depth interviews, and the examination of instructional documents. The results indicate that teachers have been able to conduct learning in alignment with the principles and guidelines of the Merdeka Curriculum, including a sound understanding of the assessment structure. This achievement is supported by adequate school facilities and curriculum-related training. However, several challenges remain, such as limited learning media in non-driving schools and students’ difficulties in understanding the material. In response, teachers demonstrated creativity in developing teaching modules and maximizing the use of available learning media. This study underscores the need for continuous support, capacity building for teachers, and adaptive strategies to optimize the implementation of the Merdeka Curriculum, particularly in the teaching of Pancasila Education at the elementary school level.

Abstract

Schools as learning organizations have the ability to adapt, innovate, and continuously improve the quality of educational services internally and sustainably. Team Learning is one of the disciplines of Learning Organizations that involves the process of aligning and developing team capacity, to produce desired results together, including the school committee as one of its components. Team Learning is about how the team thinks, communicates, and acts as a cohesive unit. This study aims to analyze and evaluate the role of the School Committee in the context of building a school Team Learning as a learning organization. The study used a descriptive quantitative method, by distributing a Likert-scale-based questionnaire to respondents, in order to provide a clear and measurable picture of how effectively the School Committee supports the transformation of team learning in schools as learning organizations. Several aspects studied are the role of the school committee in accordance with the Decree of the Minister of National Education Number 044/U/2002, namely as an advisory agency, supporting agency, controlling agency and mediator, as well as the function of the School Committee in relation to the transformation of schools as team learning.  The research, involving 20 respondents from SDIT Ibnu Sina Jakarta, shows that the school committee has played a significant role in supporting the transformation of team learning into a learning organization. However, several recommendations for future improvement were made.
