Abstract

Leadership in student organizations requires a variety of competencies. Although the significance of public speaking in student organizations has been widely discussed, there remains a need for research that specifically examines the aspects of public speaking that make it a core skill. This study focuses on the aspects of public speaking as a core skill in student organization leadership. This study was conducted using a qualitative approach with a case study design at an Islamic university in Jakarta from May 2025 to December 2025. The researcher utilized NVivo 12 Pro software to visualize the coded data resulting from the analysis of collected interviews, observations, and documentation. Based on the analysis through the visualization of coded data using NVivo 12 Pro software, it is evident that public speaking plays a crucial role in fostering coordination, maintaining team cohesion, and organizational leadership. Other aspects, such as social and interpersonal aspects, psychological and self-control aspects, and technical aspects, further underscore the importance of public speaking skills in shaping effective and high-quality leadership within student organizations. These findings demonstrate that public speaking is not merely about the ability to speak in public but also encompasses social, psychological, and technical dimensions that play a vital role in building leadership effectiveness, strengthening organizational coordination, boosting self-confidence, and fostering harmonious interpersonal relationships within student organizations.

Abstract

The ability to perform length unit conversion is a fundamental competency in fourth-grade elementary school mathematics. However, many students still experience difficulties due to learning processes that tend to be procedural and lack the use of media appropriate to their cognitive development stage. This study aims to compare the length unit conversion ability of students who utilize the Wordwall application in the IFP with those who use interactive length unit ladder media based on a literature review. The research method employed is a literature study with a qualitative approach, reviewing ten national and international journal articles published between 2023 and 2025 that are relevant to both learning media. The results indicate that interactive length unit ladder media directly and consistently improves length unit conversion ability, with mastery learning increasing to 81.48% and an N‑Gain score of 0.79 (high category). Meanwhile, the Wordwall application has been proven effective in increasing learning activity and mathematics achievement in general, but it has not been extensively studied specifically on the topic of length unit conversion. These findings highlight the importance of selecting teaching media based on the characteristics of the subject matter and open up opportunities for further experimental research to directly compare the two media in the context of learning unit conversion for length.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the implementation of the School Literacy Movement (GLS) in co-curricular activities at SMA Negeri 1 Ngantang. The research method used is descriptive qualitative. The data of this study is in the form of information about the application of GLS in three stages of literacy, namely habituation, development, and learning in co-curricular activities. In addition, it also describes the application of six aspects of basic literacy such as reading and writing, numeracy, science, financial, digital, and culture or citizenship in co-curricular activities. Data collection was carried out through observation, interviews, and document studies. Data analysis techniques were carried out by data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions from literacy and co-curricular program documents that include program lists, activity classifications, program documentation, and student work portfolios. The results of the study indicate that the three stages of literacy, namely habituation, development, and learning, as well as the six aspects of basic literacy have been well implemented through co-curricular activities. Habitual activities are carried out through reading and writing activities or listening to information from multimodal texts according to the co-curricular activity material. Development activities are carried out by processing reading results into meaningful works that increase the level of critical thinking and creativity. Learning activities integrate six basic literacies into co-curricular activities through interdisciplinary learning. Thus, by implementing literacy in co-curricular activities, both programs, literacy and co-curricular, can run effectively and strengthen each other.

Abstract

the National Movement Organization Social Studies material for eighth-grade students of SMPN 1 Turi Lamongan. The main problem in this study is the low motivation and cognitive understanding of students who tend to consider history as boring memorization material. The research method used is quantitative with a quasi-experimental design. Sampling then selected a research sample consisting of 60 students divided into class VIII G as the experimental group and VIII H as the control group. The data collection technique used a validated multiple-choice test instrument. Data analysis was carried out using paired sample t-test and N-gain score test. The results showed that the application of the Make a Match model had a significant effect on learning outcomes, evidenced by the average N-gain score of the experimental class of 78.53% (effective) which far exceeded the control class of 44.14% (less effective). The conclusion of this study is that the use of the Make a Match model significantly influences the mastery of historical concepts through interactive and dynamic learning activities.

Abstract

Theology of Kalam plays a crucial role in shaping students' understanding of Islamic faith in a rational, critical, and contextual manner. In an era marked by technological advancements, social change, and diverse religious thought, the study of Kalam is not only directed at mastering theological concepts, but also at character building, strengthening faith, and students' ability to face the challenges of modern life. The integration of Islamic theological values into the curriculum is achieved by connecting material on faith, the thoughts of Islamic scholars, and the values of monotheism with the realities of students' lives. This study aims to analyze the integration of Islamic theological values in the modern Islamic Education curriculum, specifically in the study of Kalam at Madrasah Aliyah An Nur Bekasi. Abstract

This study aims to examine the process of rationalizing the meanings attached to offering rituals and trance phenomena within the *Rasulan* tradition in Gunung Kidul Regency, Special Region of Yogyakarta. Specifically, the research focuses on identifying communal educational values and analyzing the role of educational structures as drivers in transforming the community's mindset from a mystical-traditional outlook to a rational-religious one. The study employs a qualitative approach utilizing field research methods. Data were collected through a socio-anthropological lens involving participant observation of ritual processions, in-depth interviews with key informants (customary leaders, “modin” ritual participants, and educators), and document analysis. Data validity was verified using source and method triangulation, while data analysis applied the interactive model developed by Miles, Huberman, and Saldaña, comprising data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. The findings reveal a shift in the meaning of offerings: from mystical tributes intended to ward off misfortune to theological symbols of gratitude to God “sedekah bumi” earth alms and instruments of social cohesion “kembul bujana” communal feasting. Trance phenomena are no longer viewed literally as demonic possession but are rationalized as a means of collective psychological catharsis—stemming from the pressures of an agrarian economy—and as a reminder of social norms. This cultural transformation is systematically driven by three educational pillars: formal education that fosters scientific-curricular reasoning; informal education through the transmission of ethical philosophies within the family; and non-formal education via inclusive cultural outreach “dakwah” by religious leaders. Theoretically, this study contributes to reinforcing Weber’s theory of rationalization and Berger’s "sacred canopy" concept within the context of the educational syncretism found in contemporary Javanese society. In practical terms, the implications of this research highlight the importance of integrating local wisdom into the local content curriculum in schools as a pedagogical tool for character education; simultaneously, it serves as a guide for local governments in devising cultural preservation strategies based on ethnic tourism without triggering horizontal theological tensions.
