Cangkal : Jurnal Ilmu Sosial dan Humaniora (e-ISSN: 3123-7088) merupakan jurnal ilmiah yang mempublikasikan hasil penelitian, kajian teoritis, dan pemikiran kritis dalam bidang ilmu sosial dan humaniora. Nama “Cangkal” berasal dari bahasa Banjar yang bermakna rajin, kuat, dan kokoh, yang mencerminkan semangat ketekunan dan keteguhan intelektual dalam pengembangan ilmu pengetahuan. Jurnal ini mencakup berbagai disiplin keilmuan, antara lain pendidikan, sosiologi, ekonomi, manajemen, akuntansi, administrasi publik dan bisnis, ilmu politik dan hubungan internasional, antropologi, ilmu komunikasi, psikologi sosial dan pendidikan, hukum dan kebijakan publik, sejarah, filsafat, kajian budaya, pembangunan sosial ekonomi, kewirausahaan, studi digital dan media, serta kajian masyarakat dan kearifan lokal, serta bidang lain yang relevan dalam rumpun ilmu sosial dan humaniora. Setiap naskah yang diterima diseleksi melalui proses penelaahan sejawat (peer-review) untuk menjamin mutu akademik dan kontribusi keilmuan. Jurnal ini terbit dua kali setahun (Mei–Oktober dan November–April), bersifat akses terbuka (open access), dan dikelola oleh Yayasan Pendidikan Literasi Borneo (Nomor AHU-0031523.AH.01.04.Tahun 2025).

Abstract

Tujuan penelitian ini adalah menganalisis keefektifan model pembelajaran inkuiri terstruktur terhadap kemampuan bernalar kritis siswa SD. Metode yang dipilih dalam penelitian ini yaitu mixed-methods. Subjek penelitian meliputi siswa Sekolah Dasar kota Banjarbaru. Sampel penelitian terdiri dari siswa VA dan VB dengan jumlah 56 orang. Tempat penelitian yaitu SDN 2 Komet Banjarbaru. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode penelitian eksperimen. Jenis eksperimen menggunakan rancangan True Experimental dengan tipe Post test only control group design. Uji beda dengan t-test dilakukan untuk mengetahaui apakah ada perbedaan rerata skor antara kelas eksperimen dan kelas kontrol. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penerapan model pem belajaran inkuiri terstruktur di SDN 2 Komet Banjarbaru pada materi Magnet dan sifatnya menunjukan efektif dalam meningkatkan kemampuan bernalar kritis siswa SD dengan rata-rata hasil post-tes pada kelas eksperimen 78 dan kelas kontrol 65.

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to determine the influence of poster media on students’ learning interest in Science subjects at SDN Tatah Bangkal. The method employed is an experimental study with a quantitative approach. The object of this research is the effect of poster media on students’ learning interest in Science subjects at SDN Tatah Bangkal, while the subjects are fourth and fifth-grade students. The research sample consists of students from grades IV and V at SDN Tatah Bangkal. The instruments used in this study include questionnaires, observations, and documentation to measure students’ learning interest in relation to the use of poster media in Science subjects. Based on the results of descriptive analysis, the variable of poster media in Science subjects at SDN Tatah Bangkal falls into the “good” category with a score percentage of 80.76%. Meanwhile, the variable of learning interest in Science subjects is categorized as “very good” with a score percentage of 83.96%. Furthermore, the results of simple linear regression analysis show an R square value of 42.6%, indicating that students’ learning interest is influenced by poster media by 42.6%, while the remaining 57.4% is influenced by other factors.

Abstract

This study examines the role of the Ciamis Panca Marga Youth Branch Leadership (PC PPM) in the TNI Manunggal Membangun Desa (TMMD) program as a form of strengthening the organization's existence and instilling nationalist values. Through active involvement in both physical and non-physical activities, PPM Ciamis demonstrates a strategic role in village development, assisting the community, and bridging communication between the TNI and residents, especially the younger generation. The method used is descriptive qualitative through interviews, observation, and documentation. The results show that the role of PC PPM Ciamis in the TMMD program clearly reflects the practice of national values ​​and a strong spirit of nationalism. Through mutual cooperation and community service, this organization proves its existence not only as a symbolic entity, but as an agent of change that contributes directly to village development.

Abstract

This study aims to evaluate the level of passenger satisfaction with services at the Amolengo Ferry Port. This research was conducted at the Amolengo Ferry Port from July to August 2024, with a sample size of 406 service users at the Amolengo Ferry Port. The results showed that the public satisfaction score was 61, or poor. This issue requires attention from the Amolengo-Labuan Ferry Port Technical Implementation Unit (UPTD), which manages transportation at the Amolengo and Labuan ports, to improve service quality and impact user satisfaction at the Ferry Port.

Abstract

Teacher job satisfaction is crucial because it motivates teachers to perform optimally, especially in inclusive schools, which are required to manage highly heterogeneous classes. Inclusive practices require the involvement of all aspects of the school, including teachers and the school climate. The purpose of this study was to obtain an overview of teachers' attitudes toward the implementation of inclusive education in schools, the school climate, and teacher job satisfaction. The research method was a survey using a questionnaire as a data collection tool administered to 25 teachers and interview. Data were processed using percentages. The results showed that almost half of the teachers had negative attitudes toward the implementation of inclusive education in schools. The school climate was classified as open with a low intimate dimension, and teacher job satisfaction was classified as moderate. Schools need to encourage various formal and informal activities related to the presence of children with special needs and inclusive education so that more teachers have positive attitudes toward the implementation of inclusive education, build better personal (intimate) relationships among teachers, and increase teacher job satisfaction.

Abstract

The role of parents in motivating their children to study is very important in the context of contributions related to academic achievement at elementary school. This study aims at describing the role of parents to improve their children’s learning motivation at SDN Bangkok, Boyolali. The research employs a qualitative approach using a case study method. Data are collected through observation, interviews, and questionnaires with parents and classroom teachers. The data analysis technique consisted of data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. The results show that most parents play a limited role in motivating their children to learn. This condition is influenced by several factors, including lack of time due to the fact that most parents work as street vendors and waste collectors, as well as limited understanding of their children’s school materials. In addition, many parents still assume that the responsibility for education lies entirely with the school. Through the synergy between the school and parents, awareness can be built that family involvement is essential in increasing students’ learning motivation and achievement. Parents are encouraged to spend time communicating with their children, provide moral support, and collaborate actively with teachers. Thus, economic limitations should not become a barrier for parents to contribute to their children’s educational success

Abstract

The era of Society 5.0 marks a significant paradigm shift in education, where digital technology, artificial intelligence (AI), and the Internet of Things (IoT) have become integral to learning processes. This study aims to analyze the relevance, curriculum adaptation, and implementation challenges of transforming elementary education in response to the demands of this new era. Using a qualitative approach based on literature review, data were collected from scientific journals, books, and educational policy documents published between 2020 and 2025. The findings reveal that the transformation of elementary education in Indonesia requires strengthening teachers’ digital competencies, developing adaptive curricula aligned with the “Profil Pelajar Pancasila,” and integrating humanistic values in the use of technology. However, challenges remain in terms of infrastructure readiness, teacher training, and the digital divide across regions. Therefore, a collaborative strategy involving the government, educational institutions, and communities is essential to ensure that elementary education is not only technologically oriented but also grounded in character building and human values. This transformation is expected to foster a generation of learners who are creative, adaptive, and globally competitive in the Society 5.0 era.

Abstract

Religious character education holds a crucial role in shaping students’ holistic development, encompassing moral, spiritual, and social dimensions. Within the context of elementary education, religious values serve as an essential foundation for developing virtuous behavior and strengthening students’ spiritual awareness. Nevertheless, the implementation of religious character education at the primary level often encounters challenges, particularly in ensuring consistency, environmental support, and parental engagement. Addressing these issues, this study aims to explore in depth the implementation of religious values at SD Negeri Bangkok, Boyolali, and to analyze the strategies adopted by teachers and school principal in fostering students’ religious character. This research employed a qualitative approach using a descriptive method, with data collected through observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation. The data were analyzed using source and method triangulation to enhance validity and credibility. The findings reveal that the implementation of religious character education at SD Negeri Bangkok is conducted holistically across intracurricular, cocurricular, and extracurricular activities. Programs such as Tahfidz Juz 30, congregational Dhuha prayer, morning Tadarus, and Friday Charity have proven effective in nurturing students’ discipline, honesty, responsibility, and social empathy. The success of these programs is sustained by teachers’ dedication, the principal’s support, and the active participation of parents, whereas challenges primarily involve students’ varied capabilities and limited time allocation for mentoring activities. Theoretically, this study strengthens the understanding that effective religious character education requires synergistic collaboration between schools, families, and learning environments to build a sustainable culture of religiosity within the educational context.

Abstract

The integration of science and religion has become a key issue in the development of Islamic Education (PAI) curriculum in higher education. This integration aims to eliminate the dichotomy between religious knowledge and secular sciences, enabling Islamic understanding to be not only theological but also compatible with modern scientific developments. This study aims to analyze the concept of science–religion integration in PAI curricula, its implementation, and the challenges encountered by higher education institutions. The research approach is qualitative, employing a literature-based analysis from relevant scholarly sources. The findings reveal that integration can be strengthened through holistic paradigms, value-based curriculum design, and the use of scientific knowledge as an instrument to reinforce Islamic teachings. Implementation strategies include interdisciplinary learning, contextual teaching, and content delivery aligned with technological advancements. The integration significantly contributes to character formation, enhancement of religious literacy, and students’ adaptive abilities in facing global challenges. However, major obstacles include existing dichotomous thinking, limited interdisciplinary lecturer competencies, and weak synergy between religious and secular academic institutions. Therefore, universities need to design innovative and collaborative PAI curricula that respond to the dynamics of scientific development.

Abstract

The development of science and technology has become a dominant force shaping modern civilization. However, this progress cannot be separated from the ethical, moral, and spiritual dimensions emphasized by religion. This article aims to explore the relationship between science, technology, and religion from an integrative perspective, focusing on how religious values guide and give meaning to scientific advancement. The research method used is library research with philosophical and theological approaches. The results show that religions such as Islam, Christianity, Hinduism, and Buddhism view science as part of humanity’s search for divine truth. In Islam, for instance, knowledge (‘ilm) is regarded as a form of worship and moral responsibility. Technology is also seen as a means for public welfare rather than domination over nature. This study emphasizes the importance of integrating science and religion to achieve ethical and civilized progress. Thus, technological advancement should be directed toward human welfare, ecological balance, and spiritual development.
