Abstract

The influence of globalization and the rapid sophistication of information and communication technology, it turns out, has added new problems to the world of education, and the most crucial is the problem of student character. In this study, the value of character education is the focus of the study because currently the value of character education is in the spotlight which is often associated with the rampant deviant behavior carried out by students. The purpose of this study is to describe the values ​​of character education contained in the novel 172 Days by Nadzira Shafa and to describe the relevance of the values ​​of character education contained in the novel 172 Days with Indonesian language learning in high school. This study uses a qualitative approach and a type of library research. The data collection technique uses document analysis. The data analysis technique used is the content analysis technique. The results of this study indicate that: The novel 172 Days by Nadzra Shafa contains 11 values ​​of character education which include religious, responsible, honest, hard work, discipline, creative, independent, curious, fond of reading, social care and friendly/communicative. The relevance of character education values ​​in the novel 172 Days by Nadzira Shafa to Indonesian language learning is found in Indonesian language learning in high school class XI with prose text learning materials on elements, reading and viewing the independent curriculum. Reviewed based on aspects of language, psychology, and cultural background, the novel 172 Days by Nadzira Shafa which contains character education values ​​is worthy of being used as a literary teaching material in high school.

Abstract

This article discusses the role of pastoral guidance and counseling in shaping the character of theology students at IAKN Toraja, focusing on its impact on integrity, maturity of faith, and moral responsibility. This study uses a qualitative field study method through observation and in-depth interviews with students and pastoral counselors. The results of the study indicate that pastoral counseling based on empathy and Christian values ​​has a positive impact in helping students overcome emotional, spiritual, and social challenges. This counseling process not only helps students overcome personal problems, but also deepens their understanding of their calling in life and strengthens their character in the context of service. Thus, pastoral counseling plays a strategic role in shaping students' personalities who are mature, have integrity, and are ready to serve with strong maturity of faith.

Abstract

The concept of administration is often interpreted as the process of developing cooperative activities among a group of people to achieve predetermined goals. Specifically, it aims to achieve educational goals. Educational administration is a series or set of processes for controlling the cooperative efforts of a group of people to achieve educational goals in a planned and systematic manner within a specific environment, particularly formal educational institutions. Government Regulation No. 19 of 2005 on National Education Standards, Article 57, states that supervision, which includes managerial supervision and academic management supervision, is carried out regularly and continuously by supervisors or inspectors of educational units and heads of educational units. The National Education Standards Act explains that there are two types of supervision: managerial supervision and academic management supervision or academic supervision. The basic concepts of education administration and supervision explain the definitions of administration and supervision, the objectives and benefits of administration and supervision, the process of educational supervision, approaches, techniques, and methods of educational supervision. The fundamental and most important aspects that must be understood by supervisors, whether school supervisors or supervisors within educational institutions, are the school principals.

Abstract

Teacher professionalism is an important aspect in creating a quality learning process, so that educational organizations act as facilitators to support the development of teacher competence. This research aims to explore various programs, strategies and activities implemented by educational organizations to encourage improvements in teachers' pedagogical, social and professional abilities.  This research uses descriptive qualitative methods with interview techniques, observations used by researchers to collect data, and researchers carry out document analysis to strengthen a fact or use it to strengthen an argument. The results of this research will be that the researcher reveals that educational organizations play a strategic role in increasing teacher professionalism at SD Negeri 01 Tulusayu. The recommendations provided include strengthening training programs based on teacher needs, increasing resources, and stronger synergy between educational organizations and schools to support the sustainable development of teacher professionalism.

Abstract

This study examines the relationship between learning styles and student learning outcomes in the context of higher education. Learning styles consisting of visual, auditory, and kinesthetic are each individual's unique approach to processing information. Understanding learning styles allows for the development of effective personal learning strategies, while mismatches between learning styles and teaching methods can reduce motivation and academic achievement. Learning outcomes as a measure of academic success include three domains: cognitive, affective, and psychomotor that require holistic assessment. Studies show a positive correlation between the application of appropriate learning styles and improved learning outcomes. Students who learn according to their learning styles tend to achieve better academic performance. Supporting factors include the suitability of lecturers' teaching methods, a conducive learning environment, and adequate learning facilities. Pedagogical implications emphasize the importance of a student-centered learning approach and a competency-based curriculum that is adaptive to the diversity of learning styles. This study concludes that the integration of learning style understanding in the higher education system can create a more inclusive and effective learning process. Recommendations include the development of learning style assessment instruments, training lecturers in varied teaching methods, and the creation of a learning ecosystem that supports all types of learning. This finding is relevant to improving the quality of higher education in the era of globalization which demands competent and characterful graduates.

Abstract

This research aims to analyze the professional competence and pedagogical competence of teachers in managing the learning process in the classroom, with a case study at MI Darul Ulum 2 Dadi Rejo. Teachers' professional and pedagogical competence is a key factor in creating an effective and conducive learning environment for students. This research seeks to identify the extent to which teachers apply these two competencies in daily teaching practice and their impact on the quality of learning.  The research method used is a qualitative descriptive approach, with data collection techniques through direct observation, interviews with teachers, and analysis of related documents. This research involved MI Darul Ulum 2 teacher Dadi Rejo as the main respondent to obtain a more comprehensive picture regarding the application of their professional and pedagogical competencies in the classroom. The research results show that teachers at MI Darul Ulum 2 Dadi Rejo have a good level of competence in professional aspects, especially in planning lessons and mastering teaching materials. However, challenges are still found in the pedagogical aspect, especially related to the differentiation of teaching methods and effective classroom management for students with diverse learning needs. These findings indicate the need for ongoing training and mentoring for teachers to further improve their pedagogical skills. The conclusion of this research confirms that increasing teacher professional and pedagogical competence is very important in optimizing the learning process in the classroom. The recommendations put forward include developing more specific training programs according to teacher needs as well as implementing more varied learning strategies in order to improve the overall quality of education.

Abstract

Speaking is a language skill alongside listening, reading, and writing skills. The purpose of this study was to determine whether the use of storytelling methods had an effect on the speaking skills of fifth-grade students at SD Inpres 15 in Sorong Regency. This was a quantitative study using an experimental method. The research design used in this study was a one group pretest posttest design. The study was conducted in Grade V of SD Inpres 15 Sorong District with a total of 30 students. Based on calculations using the t-test, the results obtained were t table = 1.773 and t count = 5.572. Therefore, t count > t table and the significance value is 0.00 < 0.05. Therefore, H0 is rejected, so it can be concluded that there is an influence of the storytelling method on the speaking skills of fifth-grade students at SD Inpres 15 Sorong Regency. Based on the results of the theoretical review and research conducted by the author in the context of this thesis, it can be concluded that there is an influence of the storytelling method on the speaking skills of fifth-grade students at SD Inpres 15 Sorong Regency.

Abstract

This study aims to examine family-based education in optimizing the role of parents in limiting the use of mobile phones to strengthen the character of early childhood. This study uses a qualitative approach with a literature study method, and is based on the Ecological Systems Theory developed by Urie Bronfenbrenner. The main focus of this study is to answer two questions: (1) what is the impact and role of parents in the use of mobile phones on the formation of character in early childhood? and (2) what is the strategy for optimizing family-based education to strengthen the character of early childhood?. The results of the study indicate that uncontrolled use of mobile phones can have a negative impact on the formation of character in early childhood, such as lack of social interaction, emotional disturbances, and decreased concentration. The role of parents is very important in limiting the use of mobile phones through supervision, providing good examples, and implementing consistent rules. The strategy for optimizing family-based education includes strengthening communication between parents and children, creating an environment conducive to the development of positive character, and collaborating with the child's social environment, such as schools and communities. In conclusion, family-based education with the active role of parents has a significant contribution in limiting the negative impact of mobile phone use while strengthening the character of early childhood. A holistically designed strategy that refers to Bronfenbrenner's ecological theory can be an effective solution to build quality children's character in the digital era.

Abstract

Culture-based character education is an urgent need in the midst of globalization that erodes the nation's identity. The role of culture in shaping character is often neglected in formal education, even though culture is the foundation of value formation and behavior. The Student Art and Culture Institute (LSBM) in this case has the potential to become a strategic space in instilling character values through cultural arts activities. This study aims to analyze the role of LSBM in shaping student character based on cultural values. The method used is a qualitative approach with a type of phenomenology, to explore the meaning of LSBM members' experiences. Data were obtained through observation and in-depth interviews with administrators and active members of LSBM IAIN Palangka Raya. Analysis was conducted through the stages of data condensation, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The results showed that LSBM plays a strategic role in student character building through three main aspects: motivation, value internalization, and cultural roles. LSBM motivates students to actively develop their potential and strengthen their commitment to local and national cultural values. The process of internalizing values such as responsibility, cooperation, discipline, and tolerance occurs through direct involvement in arts and cultural activities. In addition, LSBM plays an important role as a space for culture-based character development that is participatory and contextual, so as to instill the nation's identity and noble values in the daily lives of students.

Abstract

This study examines the role of the Qur'an in the formation of individual character in the era of globalization. In an increasingly complex context, the moral and ethical values ​​contained in the Qur'an serve as important guidelines for individuals in developing good character. This study analyzes various literature sources to identify the teachings of the Qur'an that can contribute to the development of positive attitudes, including honesty, compassion, and responsibility. The results indicate that the integration of Qur'anic values ​​in education can help the younger generation adapt well in a diverse society. Therefore, it is important to apply the teachings of the Qur'an in everyday life in order to form a strong and responsible character.
