Abstract

The Strategy of Teacher Professional Development to Improve Learning Quality in the Merdeka Curriculum is motivated by the uneven distribution of teacher competencies in curriculum implementation, which affects the quality of learning. This study aims to analyze the role of teacher professional development, identify effective strategies, and explain its contribution to innovative and student-centered learning. This research uses a library research method by analyzing ten relevant scientific articles obtained from Google Scholar and SINTA-indexed journals published between 2023 and 2026. Data were analyzed through data reduction, thematic classification, descriptive presentation, and conclusion drawing. The findings indicate that teacher professional development plays a significant role in improving pedagogical and professional competencies, particularly in designing differentiated instruction, developing authentic assessment, and managing adaptive classrooms. Effective strategies include continuous practice-based training, collaboration through learning communities and teacher forums, reflective practices, and the integration of technology. Therefore, teacher professional development should be designed systematically, contextually, and sustainably to support the successful implementation of the Merdeka Curriculum.

Abstract

Christian Religious Education (PAK) faces a critical gap in 2026 as the curriculum centered on personal doctrine has not responded to the climate crisis that directly threatens the lives of Generation Alpha students. This study aims to analyze the environmental ethics gap in PAK literature and evaluate Bible-based integration strategies for sustainable learning. The method used is a systematic literature review of twenty-five primary sources. The results indicate that the stewardship mandate in Genesis 2:15 provides a strong theological foundation yet has not been systematically operationalized in the PAK curriculum. Integration of environmental ethics into PAK can be achieved through a dialogical-transformative approach, project-based learning, and the development of ecological spirituality. The implication is that PAK teachers need to expand their ecotheological competencies to accompany Generation Alpha in transforming eco-anxiety into concrete stewardship commitments.

Abstract

This study is motivated by the important role of teachers as professional educators in shaping students' character in the midst of increasingly complex societal changes. Teachers are not only responsible for delivering academic content but also act as role models, motivators, and guides in instilling moral values. This study aims to analyze the professional responsibilities of teachers in shaping students’ character. The research employs a qualitative approach using library research by analyzing relevant journals and scientific articles published between 2016 and 2026. The results and discussion indicate that teachers’ pedagogical and professional competencies play a crucial role in the success of character development, as reflected in the internalization of values such as discipline, responsibility, and integrity. Teachers also function as character architects through the stages of moral knowing, moral feeling, and moral action. However, there are challenges arising from external factors, particularly unsupportive family environments. In conclusion, teachers' professional responsibility is a key factor in determining the success of students' character development; therefore, improving teacher competencies and strengthening collaboration between schools and parents are essential to develop students with strong character.

Abstract

This study aims to explore elementary school teachers' perspectives on the use of concrete media in fraction learning, particularly in grade 3. The research employs a qualitative approach with in-depth interview method conducted with a teacher at SDN 2 Getas Pejaten. The findings reveal that concrete media, such as ice cream sticks used as tally marks (turus), significantly enhance student creativity and motivation. Students showed high enthusiasm and engagement when using hands-on materials. The teacher noted that concrete media is aligned with lesson plans (RPP) and positively impacts student comprehension and learning outcomes. Main challenges include varying student abilities in manipulating the media. The teacher hopes for additional visual media, such as Smart TV, to complement concrete tools. This study suggests that concrete media remains a primary and effective instructional tool for elementary mathematics, particularly for fraction concepts.

Abstract

Advances in digital technology have transformed mathematics education and require teachers to enhance their professional competence to meet the demands of the digital age. Technology is no longer merely a tool but has become an integral part of learning, as it can present abstract mathematical concepts through visualization, simulation, and interactive media. However, the implementation of digital technology still faces various challenges, such as limited teacher competencies, low digital literacy, disparities in technology access, and suboptimal pedagogical practices. This study employs a literature review method using national journal articles (2016–2025) with thematic synthesis analysis to identify relevant patterns and relationships. The results indicate that teacher professionalism focuses not only on subject matter mastery but also on the ability to integrate knowledge, content, and pedagogical technology (PCK and TPACK). Appropriate technology integration has been proven to enhance learning quality, student engagement, and conceptual understanding. However, the optimal use of technology still needs improvement. Therefore, teacher professionalism must be continuously developed, particularly in the areas of pedagogy, digital literacy, and technology integration, to create effective, innovative, and meaningful mathematics learning.

Abstract

Pancasila Education learning in elementary schools still uses lecture methods and printed books, causing students to be less active, easily bored, and lack focus during the learning process. This condition has an impact on low student engagement in understanding the material on Indonesian cultural diversity. This study aims to develop the Jelajah Nusantara (Jenar) board game media as an interactive learning medium to introduce Indonesian cultural diversity to third-grade elementary school students. This study uses the Research and Development (R&D) method with the ADDIE model which includes the Analyze, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation stages. The product developed is a pentagonal board game accompanied by pop-up and short materials about Indonesian cultural diversity from several provinces, question cards, challenge cards, chance cards, pawns, dice, and a game manual. The product was validated by media experts, material experts, and learning experts, then tested on teachers and 14 third-grade students of SD Negeri 2 Klirong. Data collection techniques used observation, interviews, questionnaires, and documentation. The results of the study indicate that the Jelajah Nusantara (Jenar) media obtained a "Very Good" category based on the validation results from media experts with a score of 88%, material experts 90%, and learning experts 96%. Teacher and student responses also showed positive results regarding the use of this learning media. Thus, the Jelajah Nusantara (Jenar) media is suitable for use as an interactive learning media that can create a pleasant learning atmosphere and help students understand the diversity of Indonesian culture in a concrete way.

Abstract

Character education is a primary orientation of the Merdeka Curriculum, emphasizing the integration of moral, social, and academic values through the Pancasila Student Profile, which consists of six dimensions, namely faith and noble character, independence, mutual cooperation, critical reasoning, creativity, and global diversity. In the context of higher education, particularly PGMI students as prospective educators, character internalization is an essential aspect in shaping character as reflected in learning attitudes. However, observational findings indicate variations in students’ character development across dimensions, particularly in critical reasoning and creativity, which remain relatively lower compared to other dimensions. This study aims to analyze the attitude assessment of the Pancasila Student Profile among 4B PGMI students cohort 2024 through learning attitude assessment. The study employed a descriptive qualitative approach involving 35 students. Data were collected through observation, documentation, and attitude assessment sheets based on the six dimensions of the Pancasila Student Profile, then analyzed using descriptive qualitative techniques through data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. The results show that all dimensions fall within the good category, with the highest achievement in faith and noble character as well as global diversity, while critical reasoning and creativity show lower achievement, indicating the need for instructional strengthening oriented toward analysis, reflection, and idea development. Thus, it can be concluded that character internalization has taken place but is not yet evenly distributed across all dimensions, requiring more systematic and sustainable instructional strategies to strengthen students’attitude and character.

Abstract

As technology develops rapidly and practically, as the times evolve. The emergence of artificial intelligence (AI) technology in the world of education has become a subject that attracts the attention of academics and educational practitioners. Its existence must be responded positively, because it can increase learning creativity and support digital transformation, including its application in Hindu religious education lessons. The development of Artificial intelligence technology has a positive impact by making it easier to get information and this causes a lack of interest in learning because it relies more on Artificial intelligence (AI). However, the application of AI also provides a number of ethical challenges and concerns, data security, technology dependency and lack of teacher training. Therefore, researchers want to provide a presentation of data on the utilization of AI technology for education, especially for learning ahindu religious education. The method used in discussing this material is to use the case study method in exploring the benefits of artificial intelligence (AI). Based on this, it can be seen the results and discussion of this material, among others; 1) the benefits of artificial intelligence (AI) for learning Hindu religious education, 2) The excessive impact of the use of AI in the world of education. Thus AI is actually like a double-edged knife, its usefulness must be used wisely, controlled by what you want to need, don't let the technology manage the individual back. Because Artificial intelligence not only provides positive benefits, but will also be able to have a negative impact, the development of Artificial intelligence technology has a positive impact by making it easier to get information and this causes a lack of interest in learning students because they rely more on Artificial intelligence.

Abstract

The rapid advancement of globalization and digital technology has significantly influenced various aspects of education, including learning activities at the elementary school level. Along with these developments, students are provided with broader access to information and learning resources. However, the digital era also presents several challenges that may affect the quality of learning. This study aims to examine the learning problems experienced by fourth-grade students at SD Negeri 057200 Batu Menjah in the context of global and digital developments. A descriptive qualitative approach was employed, with data collected through observation, interviews, and documentation. The findings indicate that students encounter several challenges, including limited internet access, excessive use of gadgets for non-academic purposes, varying levels of digital literacy, and decreased learning concentration due to digital distractions. In addition, teachers face difficulties in integrating technology effectively into classroom instruction. The study concludes that while digital technology offers valuable opportunities for learning, its implementation requires guidance, supervision, and collaboration among schools, teachers, parents, and students to ensure optimal educational outcomes.

Abstract

The formation of mutual respect and cooperation in early childhood is important because the future of early childhood is a basic stage of social character development. However, technological developments and the increasing use of gadgets cause children's social interactions to tend to decline, so learning strategies that can improve children's social skills are needed. This study aims to determine the role of group play in forming mutual respect and cooperation in early childhood and explain how social interactions are formed through joint play activities. This study uses a qualitative approach with a descriptive method. Data collection techniques are carried out through literature studies from various journals, books, and relevant research results regarding the social development of early childhood and group play. Data are analyzed descriptively to understand the process of forming children's social behavior through group play. The results of the study show that group play is effective in improving cooperation, tolerance, empathy, communication, and respect for peers. Children learn to share, obey rules, solve problems together, and build positive social relationships. This study concludes that group play can be an effective learning strategy in the formation of social character in early childhood.
