Abstract

This research aims to explore the effectiveness of role playing methods in developing language skills in early childhood. Starting from the understanding that early childhood is a critical period for language development, this research examines various literature that discusses the application and results of role playing as an educational method. The methodology used includes systematic analysis of data that has been published in educational, psychology and linguistics journals. The research results show that role playing not only improves children's vocabulary, but also syntactic and pragmatic abilities. Children who engage in role-playing activities show significant improvements in the ability to understand and use language effectively and contextually. In addition, this method also supports the development of broader social and cognitive skills, which simultaneously strengthens language acquisition. This research concludes that role playing is a very useful tool in early childhood education, given the broad benefits it offers in the development of language and social competence. The implication for the early childhood education curriculum is that it is recommended to pay more attention to and integrate this method widely in the daily learning process.

Abstract

This research analyzes the relationship between parental involvement and student achievement in the context of inclusive education. Through a comprehensive literature review, this research aims to explore how active parental participation influences student learning outcomes, especially for those with special educational needs. Various previous studies show that parental involvement plays a key role in supporting student motivation, engagement, and academic achievement. More specifically, emotional and academic support from parents has been proven to strengthen children's self-confidence and enthusiasm for learning. In addition, collaboration between parents, teachers and school institutions is considered very important to create a learning environment that is inclusive and responsive to individual student needs. This research also highlights the importance of partnerships between families and communities in providing additional resources and ongoing support programs. Results from this literature indicate that parental involvement not only has an immediate positive impact on student achievement, but also builds a strong foundation for long-term success in the context of inclusive education. It is hoped that these findings can become a reference for further educational practitioners, policy makers and researchers in developing effective strategies that support parent participation and improve inclusive student educational outcomes.

Abstract

This study explores the convolutions and limitations of legal education faced by Scott Turow in the first year of law school. Turow’s memoir One L offers a compelling critique of legal education, particularly within the prestigious precincts of Harvard Law School. Narrative vividly portrays the rigorous and often punishing first-year experience. He draws attention to the life-threatening pressures exerted on students. He vehemently criticizes competitive ethos that sets learners against each other. Turow succeeds in exploring the profound psychological toll it takes on those enrolled in legal institutions. This study critically examines Turow’s focus on several key dimensions. Central to the narrative is the pedagogical method, notably the ubiquitous ‘Socratic questioning’, which subjects students to relentless scrutiny and demands rapid intellectual agility. Turow’s account underscores and questions the ethical implications of a hyper-competitive environment in the school. He tactfully reveals the tensions between personal ambition and ethical conduct. By highlighting these issues, Turow’s narrative challenges the legal education system to prioritize ethics and community welfare over individual achievement. He calls for a reevaluation of pedagogical methods and institutional practices to cultivate a more supportive and inclusive learning environment. By tackling these challenges, stakeholders in legal education can aim to narrow the divide between theoretical instruction and practical legal skills. He aims to nurture a generation of lawyers committed not only to professional success but also to ethical integrity and social justice.

Abstract

This study aims to explain the role of management in improving the knowledge of Muhammadiyah scholars in Darul Arqam Muhammadiyah Gombara Islamic Boarding School in Makassar and to find out the inhibiting and supporting factors. This research was conducted at Pesantren Darul Arqam Muhammadiyah Gombara Makassar by using a qualitative descriptive research approach with data collection techniques through observation and interviews and documentation with the management of the boarding and education fields or internal boarding schools. This research found that the management of Pesantren Darul Arqam Gombara towards increasing the knowledge of prospective Muhammadiyah Ulama was carried out through the process of planning, organising coaches, supervising and evaluating programs in accordance with the objectives of the pesantren in the form of a program to strengthen the basics of boarding knowledge for new students for three months which is packaged in the term Iddady Program including programs to develop basic Arabic language skills, practical worship, Tahsin and Tahfidz Al-Qur'an and akhlaq. The second is a routine boarding programme including advanced Arabic language learning, Muhadarah or speech practice, yellow book studies, advanced Qur'an Tahfidz and the Muballig Hijrah programme for final year students. There is a boarding report card that contains the competency achievements of the students which is submitted at the end of the semester. In the field of education, the school uses an integrated curriculum that combines the curriculum that has been published by the Education Office, the Ministry of Religion and the curriculum published by the Muhammadiyah Association in this case the Muhammadiyah Pesantren Development Institute (LP2M). The obstacles faced by pesantren management are influenced by the non-permanent resources of kemusyrifan or coaches which sometimes result in a vacuum of implementation and supervision which has an impact on the smooth running of pesantren programmes. Dormitory construction planning still needs to be improved and the construction is well pursued. Then the obstacles that also occur in the school education environment are the large number of core educators and education personnel who are appointed as civil servants / PP3K which results in them leaving the pesantren because they get a new place of assignment. Supporting factors are the great attention of the Muhammadiyah Regional leadership as the organiser of pesantren education in increasing the quantity and quality of pesantren resources and the number of students, which in recent years has increased thanks to the high public interest from year to year to enrol their children in this pesantren, especially from among Alumni and Muhammadiyah Association members.

Abstract

The rise of social media has significantly changed marketing dynamics, with Instagram influencers now playing a crucial role in shaping consumer perceptions. Despite a growing body of research on social media communication, the specific use of implicature in influencer language remains underexplored. This study addresses this gap by examining how Instagram influencers utilize both conventional and conversational implicature to subtly influence their followers' perceptions and behaviors. The research objective is to analyze the pragmatic strategies employed in influencer posts and assess their impact on follower engagement. A qualitative approach was used, involving a detailed examination of Instagram posts to identify and categorize instances of implicature. The analysis revealed that influencers effectively use conventional implicature, such as phrases like "obsessed with" and "can’t get enough," often enhanced by emojis to imply strong endorsements. Additionally, conversational implicature was found in statements like "Can’t wait to start reading," which suggest positive recommendations through contextual cues and emotional tone. The study concludes that influencers adeptly use these implicature strategies to convey endorsements subtly and engagingly, providing valuable insights for enhancing influencer marketing strategies.
