Abstract

Productive waqf is one of the Islamic social finance instruments that holds significant potential to promote inclusive economic development. However, in many regions, its management practices remain largely consumptive and have not yet been integrated across multiple sectors. This study seeks to reconstruct the paradigm of productive waqf through a case study of Masjid Al-Huda as a model of multi sectoral management in developing an inclusive economic ecosystem within rural communities. This research adopts a qualitative descriptive approach employing participatory observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation techniques for data collection. The findings indicate that the management of productive waqf at Masjid Al-Huda is implemented through a structured POAC framework (Planning, Organizing, Actuating, and Controlling), supported by RAPBM instruments, ijarah contracts, accountable financial administration, and supervision grounded in both administrative governance and local wisdom. The waqf assets, encompassing 12.7 hectares of land, are strategically managed to generate and distribute benefits across the agricultural, educational, and micro-enterprise sectors. A major finding of this study is the emergence of an economic magnet effect, whereby waqf investment in the educational sector organically stimulates economic demand for micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) within the surrounding community. This model demonstrates that mosque-based productive waqf management in rural areas can function as a catalyst for inclusive economic growth by simultaneously empowering farmers, educators, and micro-entrepreneurs.

Abstract

The local community has not yet fully utilised the potential of the marine resources in Paloh Sub-district, specifically jellyfish. In addition to the high volume of jellyfish caught in the area, Paloh Sub-district's tourist attractions are always bustling with visitors. However, despite the tourism potential, there is a lack of distinctive souvenirs for tourists to take home. This presents a business opportunity for suppliers of distinctive Paloh souvenirs. Field data from this study indicate that, during the season from around February to April, processing plants in Paloh Sub-district can yield 10–40 tonnes of processed jellyfish. These products are hard to find elsewhere, making them a potential signature souvenir for Paloh Sub-district. Preserved processed jellyfish, packaged in small containers, represent an innovative, affordable product that is easy for tourists to carry. The product has a shelf life of 1–2 years. A business analysis of the jellyfish processing venture indicates that it is viable. The feasibility analysis shows total costs of IDR 1,580,000, revenue of IDR 3,150,000, a profit of IDR 1,570,000, an R/C ratio of 2.006, a production BEP of 45.14 packs, and a price BEP of IDR 17,555.6.

Abstract

This article discusses the role of Human Resource Management (HRM) in enhancing employee performance in the digital age. Rapid technological changes have prompted organisations to adopt more strategic, effective, and digital-based human resource management systems. HRM no longer functions merely as an administrative unit but also as a strategic partner involved in recruitment, training, competency development, performance appraisal, and the creation of an adaptive and innovative work environment. This study employs a literature review method, examining various relevant sources from books, journals, and scientific articles. The findings indicate that the implementation of appropriate HRM strategies, such as the digitalisation of HR processes, employee competency development, data-driven performance appraisal systems, and enhanced employee engagement, can make a significant contribution to improving employee performance. Consequently, HRM plays a vital role in supporting both individual productivity and organisational competitiveness amidst the ongoing digital transformation.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the influence of product quality and discount promotions, as well as the moderating role of self-control on halal consumers’ purchasing decisions within the e-commerce ecosystem. The widespread implementation of aggressive digital marketing strategies frequently triggers impulsive consumption behavior, thereby necessitating a deeper examination of how the internal characteristics of Muslim consumers are capable of mitigating such external stimuli. A quantitative approach was employed in this research involving 250 Muslim respondents who were active users of seven leading halal cosmetic brands. Primary data were collected through questionnaires and analyzed using Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM) through SmartPLS software. The findings reveal that halal product quality and discount promotions exert positive and significant direct effects on purchasing decisions. Furthermore, this study demonstrates that self-control significantly functions as a negative moderator, weakening the influence of discount promotions on purchasing decisions. These results indicate that the stronger the self-control possessed by Muslim consumers, the lower their sensitivity toward the temptation of price discounts, thereby ensuring that purchasing activities remain within the boundaries of actual needs (al-hajat). The implications of this study emphasize the importance for halal cosmetic industry practitioners to shift from price-based marketing strategies toward value-based marketing approaches that prioritize product quality integrity and ethical consumption values.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effects of Natural Resource Revenue-Sharing Funds (DBH-SDA), Capital Expenditure, and Local Own-Source Revenue (PAD) on the Human Development Index (HDI) across 33 regencies and municipalities in North Sumatra Province during the 2017–2024 period. Although the average HDI increased from 69.42 to 74.70, the interregional disparity remained substantial at 17.57 points. This study is grounded in Fiscal Decentralization Theory (Oates, 1972) and Human Development Theory (Sen, 1999). Secondary data were obtained from the Central Bureau of Statistics (BPS) and the Directorate General of Fiscal Balance (DJPK), resulting in a balanced panel dataset comprising 264 observations. The analysis employed panel data regression using EViews, with the Chow Test and Hausman Test indicating that the Fixed Effect Model (FEM) was the most appropriate model, yielding an Adjusted R² of 85.48%. The partial regression results reveal that Natural Resource Revenue-Sharing Funds have a negative and statistically significant effect on the HDI, Capital Expenditure has a positive and statistically positive effect, and Local Own-Source Revenue also has a negative and statistically significant effect on the HDI. Simultaneously, all three variables significantly influence the HDI (Prob. F = 0.000). The findings suggest that the effectiveness of regional fiscal allocation, rather than the magnitude of fiscal revenue alone, constitutes the primary determinant of human development quality.

Abstract

Indonesia officially adopted the Inflation Targeting Framework (ITF) in 2005. However, economic growth during the 2008–2024 period experienced significant fluctuations due to both external and domestic shocks, raising empirical questions regarding the effectiveness of the monetary policy transmission mechanism. This study aims to analyze the short-run and long-run effects of inflation, the Bank Indonesia policy interest rate, the rupiah exchange rate, and investment on Indonesia's economic growth over the 2008–2024 period. The study employs a quantitative explanatory approach using quarterly time-series data obtained from Bank Indonesia and Statistics Indonesia (BPS). Data were analyzed using the Error Correction Model (ECM), preceded by stationarity, cointegration, and classical assumption tests. The findings indicate that, in the short run, only investment has a positive and statistically significant effect on economic growth (coefficient = 24.0738; p = 0.001). Inflation, the policy interest rate, and the exchange rate are found to be statistically insignificant, suggesting that these variables require a longer transmission lag to influence economic growth. In the long run, the significant Error Correction Term (ECT) (coefficient = −1.331) confirms the existence of a stable equilibrium relationship between all macroeconomic variables and economic growth, while also demonstrating a strong self-correcting mechanism. The study concludes that the Inflation Targeting Framework has been effective as a nominal anchor for maintaining long-term macroeconomic stability, although the short-run impact of its policy instruments remains limited. These findings imply that strengthening the policy mix between monetary and fiscal policies is essential, as interest rate adjustments alone are insufficient to stimulate economic growth. The government should prioritize accelerating investment through regulatory simplification, legal certainty, and investment incentives. Furthermore, maintaining transparent and consistent policy communication is crucial for anchoring market expectations and ensuring the optimal functioning of the economic adjustment mechanism.

Abstract

Previous research has revealed inconsistent findings regarding the effect of perceived organizational support on organizational citizenship behavior (OCB), particularly when an imbalance exists between the support provided by the organization and the discretionary contributions demonstrated by employees. This study aims to examine the mediating role of work engagement in the relationship between perceived organizational support and OCB among employees of CV Prima Dewata Liquindo. This study employed a quantitative explanatory research design. Data were collected through a questionnaire-based survey using a saturated sampling technique and analyzed using partial least squares structural equation modeling (PLS-SEM). The results indicate that perceived organizational support has a positive and significant effect on both work engagement and OCB. Work engagement was also found to mediate the relationship between perceived organizational support and OCB. These findings support Social Exchange Theory, which explains that the relationship between employees and organizations is based on the principle of reciprocity, whereby organizational support encourages employees to demonstrate more optimal work behaviors. Theoretically, this study reinforces the proposition that work engagement constitutes an important mechanism through which perceived organizational support influences OCB. From a practical perspective, OCB among employees remains suboptimal, particularly in terms of conscientiousness. Therefore, improvements in perceived organizational support and work engagement are required to promote stronger OCB among employees.

Abstract

Digital transformation has made financial systems more practical through the use of e-wallets as an innovative payment instrument. This study aims to analyze the effects of income, perceived ease of use, social influence, and security on e-wallet usage among Generation Z in Denpasar City. This study employed an associative quantitative approach, with data collected from 100 respondents using a non-probability sampling technique through quota sampling. The data were analyzed using Partial Least Squares-based Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM). The results demonstrate that income, perceived ease of use, social influence, and security have positive and significant direct effects on e-wallet usage among Generation Z in Denpasar City. Security was identified as the most dominant factor influencing the decision to use digital wallets. The R-squared value of 0.607 indicates that the independent variables included in the model explain 60.7% of the variation in e-wallet usage. These findings suggest that higher levels of income, perceived ease of use, social influence, and perceived security are associated with greater e-wallet usage among Generation Z in Denpasar City.
