Abstract

This study examines Syed Muhammad Naquib al-Attas’s concept of the Islamization of knowledge and its relevance to contemporary Islamic education. The growing influence of secularization in modern education has caused a significant epistemological crisis in the Muslim world, where knowledge has become separated from its divine purpose and spiritual orientation. Using a qualitative library research method, this article analyzes al-Attas’s major works including Islam and Secularism (1978), The Concept of Education in Islam (1980), and Prolegomena to the Metaphysics of Islam (1995) alongside relevant scholarly sources. The findings indicate that al-Attas frames Islamization as an epistemological process aimed at purifying knowledge from secular Western assumptions and restoring it within a tawhidic worldview. Central to this process is the formation of insān ādīb, a well-educated and virtuous individual who integrates intellect, faith, and ethical discipline. In the context of contemporary Islamic education, this concept provides a critical response to the dichotomy between religious and secular sciences and encourages an integrative paradigm that unites reason, revelation, and morality. Therefore, the Islamization of knowledge not only addresses the modern crisis of meaning in education but also offers a coherent philosophical foundation for reconstructing Islamic educational systems toward a holistic and God-centered orientation.

Abstract

This study explores the implementation of a collaborative educational model grounded in religious traditions through the Waladun Sholeh program at MA Progresif Ummul Quro as a comprehensive strategy for character formation. Religious traditions including daily rituals, value habituation, teacher modeling, and school culture function as an integrated system that stabilizes moral behavior over time. Using a qualitative case study approach, the research examines the structure of collaborative interactions, coordination mechanisms, and the roles of teachers, students, and parents in the educational process. The findings reveal that structured collaboration fosters a consistent religious culture that effectively internalizes values such as discipline, responsibility, politeness, and spiritual awareness. The study concludes that religious traditions managed through collaborative frameworks can serve as a strong foundation for adaptive, relevant, and contextually grounded character education in modern Islamic schools.

The phenomenon of moral degradation in the modern era is rampant, marked by increasing violence, intolerance, and weakening social ethics among students. Hadiths about the importance of morals and seeking knowledge form the philosophical basis for moral and spiritual education. Their implementation is evident in the exemplary behavior of teachers, student manners, the instilling of values, and the integration of prophetic values into learning practices. In addition, the values of the hadiths are proven to be relevant and in line with the six dimensions of the Pancasila Student Profile, especially in the aspects of faith, piety, noble character, mutual cooperation, and independence. Overall, this research emphasizes the importance of revitalizing character education through the integration of hadith values into the national curriculum in order to shape a generation that is moral, adaptive, and morally and intellectually superior.

Abstract

Classroom management is a fundamental aspect in determining the quality of teaching and the success of students. Teachers play a central role as planners, organizers, and motivators in creating a learning environment that is conducive, effective, and efficient. This study employs a library research method by reviewing and analyzing relevant academic literature on classroom management. The findings indicate that classroom management is not universal, as each class has unique characteristics influenced by socio-economic background, socio-cultural context, learning habits, and available facilities. Teachers who are able to implement classroom management professionally can enhance students’ learning motivation, build communicative interactions, and foster a positive socio-emotional climate. Conversely, failure in classroom management has a direct impact on declining student achievement. Therefore, the role of teachers in classroom management is a crucial prerequisite for achieving educational goals, as the success of learning strongly depends on the teacher’s ability to design, organize, and motivate students effectively.
