Abstract

The use of smartphones has adverse effects such as the emergence of the behavior of ignoring face-to-face conversations with other people due to excessive attention on smartphones, known as phubbing. The emergence of this behavior is assumed to affect the quality of interpersonal relationships, especially the quality of friendships among students. This study aims to determine the effect of phubbing behavior on the quality of friendship among students in Makassar. The data were obtained from 503 students and analyzed with simple linear regression analysis. The results showed that there is no significant negative effect of phubbing behavior on the quality of friendship among students in Makassar (p = 0.460). Another factor that might contribute to the low influence of phubbing behavior on friendship quality is the emergence of personal and observed behavior. This study is expected to increase students' awareness on phubbing and the impact of this behavior.

Abstract

The aim of this study is to determine the role of traits in family resilience, with positivity as a mediator. Data were collected using The Big Five Inventory (BFI), The positivity questionnaire and the family resilience questionnaire. The data were analyzed using the Hayes PROCESS model 4. Research respondent consisting of 272 parents (mostly female and average age of 44 years). The results of the study showed that positivity (positive and negative emotions) acts as a mediator between the five types of traits (neuroticism, extraversion, openness, agreeableness, and conscientiousness) toward family resilience. Traits will have a greater role on family resilience if mediated by positive emotions and negative emotions. However, positive emotions have a greater impact than negative emotions as mediators between traits and family resilience. However, the impact of positive emotions was stronger than the impact of negative emotions on family resilience. In future research, it is recommended that attention be paid to the degree of stress experienced by respondents, which may be an important variable in describing the adversity faced by parents.

Abstract

Choosing a career is a crucial part of someone's life. A career is not just a means to fulfill one's needs; rather, it is a form of self-actualization and a way to build self-concept and social identity in society. This makes the phase of career exploration and job search challenging for individuals. Particularly for students who, after graduating from their education, will face a work environment different from the one they were in before. During the transition from the education world to the workforce, individuals are expected to have the ability to adapt effectively to meet the demands of entering the workforce. The ability to cope with the demands of new roles in the workplace is called career adaptability. Various studies have shown that career adaptability is influenced by several factors within the individual. The purpose of this study is to investigate the impact of growth mindset factors on students' career adaptability. The population of this study are students in West Java, with a sample size of 119 individuals. The data analysis technique involves using simple linear regression. The data analysis results indicate that mindset influences career adaptability.

Abstract

The growth of e-commerce trade makes it easier for people to shop more easily and flexibly, anytime and anywhere. The aim of this research is to determine the relationship between self-regulation and impulsive buying of skincare products in online shops among female teenagers. The proposed hypothesis is that there is a negative relationship between self-regulation and impulsive buying of skincare products in online shops among female teenagers. The subject criteria in this study were female teenagers aged 17-22 years who purchased skincare products in online shops 2 to 5 times in 1 month. The number of subjects in this research was 100 people using probability sampling. Data collection uses a self-regulation scale and an impulsive buying scale. With the resulting coefficient (rxy) = -0.584 with a significance value of p = 0.000 (p < 0.050). The coefficient of determination (R2) obtained is 0.341, which shows that the self-regulation variable has a contribution of 34% to the variable impulsive buying of skincare products in female teenagers and 66% is influenced by other factors. The benefit of this research is to provide information regarding self-regulation for purchasing behavior in online shopping, especially skincare products.

The statistical analysis used was the T-Test and Mann-Whitney. From this study, it was found that the degree of stress in young adults who received Brain Respiration decreased (T-count = 0,001 < 0,05). When compared with the control group, the reduction in the degree of stress in young adults in the experimental group was much lower (x̄ post-test experimental group = 2,8 < x̄ post-test control group 4,8). Abstract

This research aims to understand the religious coping strategies centered on the God that influence emotional well-being in the early adulthood group aged 18-45 years old. The research method used in this study is non-experimental by collecting data through the administration of religious coping and emotional well-being (EWB) questionnaires. The data obtained will be processed using multiple regression statistical tests on 68 people. The results showed a significant role of religious coping on emotional well-being. There is a significant simultaneous contribution of positive R-coping and negative R-coping to EWB. The path analysis results showed that both play a significant role to EWB. Based on simultaneous regression tests of positive    R-coping and negative R-coping on positive feelings and negative feelings, it is known that there is a significant role on positive feelings, but no significant role on negative feelings. This means that religious coping will play a significant role in EWB and if only on one feeling, then it will play a role in positive feelings rather than negative feelings. The suggestion that can be given is that the early adulthood group uses religious coping in developing a balance of positive and negative feelings (feelings balance) when interacting in the environment.
